[member="Captain Jordan"] Ugh tell me about it - it felt like a large DLC rather than a full developed sequel.

The first game was awesome. However to really have any fun, you had to play the Higher difficulties to even get close to enjoying it. Otherwise you were god when playing the game. And as Connor said, the second one felt more like a large DLC than an story. And he's right. All of the second one felt stupid.

There is still single player for the game, just not a campaign. It's single mission based, which, honestly, is pretty much what the previous SW Battlefront games were like too. So there should still be plenty of AI bots running around. There's also apparently character customization and split screen as well. The former is especially boss considering that's apparently not a thing developers do anymore, but is so satisfying!

I'm very pumped with how awesome this could be. Trying to control the hype/hate trains is a bit difficult ([member="Captain Jordan"] I'm looking at you. Stop bein so jaded :p ).

Find me a blockbuster-sized video game in the last 3 years that has launched with all of its features and without any game-breaking bugs, and I'll stop being so jaded.

Oh, sweet, my brother actually mentioned the missions but described it in a way of MW2's spec ops mode, (basically where you can only play as a set faction and the mission only goes a set way, unless you lose), I could see from the trailer that customization would probably make it in, due to, y'now, the jet packs, shields and stuff, they might go a route similar to Battlefield though, where you have these certain classes that have these certain weapons/equipment/ability's/armor to use, it would be pretty cool though.

If there's a decent character customization system, than I have no doubt that there will be a decent class system associated with it, also perhaps a la Battlefront 1 and 2 where, per spawn, you picked soldier/heavy/sniper/engineer etc. Those were Battlefront standard. I'm interested to see if they take it in the route that Mass Effect 3's multiplayer customization went or if it will just be loadout-based without an XP or skill tree systems.

Destiny, actually. I played the game from launch. It launched with all features and there were no game breaking bugs that affected the majority of players. You can make the argument that, because it is adding DLC, it isn't "complete," but I would argue that you never need the DLC to play the game. You can buy the bonus content or not. Also, I very much believe that it was the hype/hate trains that ruined Destiny in many ways. Which is why I will continue to remain tentatively excited for the next SW Battlefront. I will pick it up at launch, and I will reserve my judgment on a case to case basis, rather than immediately assume it will be busted out of the box before I even get my hands on it.

Okay, good, one example. And that was a major surprise for Activision, too.

I'm not entirely convinced that this means an EA/Dice game is going to be good to play on launch, but sure, the outlook isn't entirely bleak.

Also, just because a game releases DLC doesn't mean it's not feature complete at launch. I agree. Another example of this would be the Elder's Scrolls games, whose DLC are more about adding story content to enrich, rather than complete, the game. I prefer this kind of DLC. Cosmetic DLC is tolerable since I don't have to buy it (sometimes I do, though). DLC that adds actual weapons or powers that aren't balanced against the rest of the game (aka Pay To Win DLC) are the lowest of the low, and any company that uses them should be bankrupted.

[member="Jorj Kell"] Destiny was terrible though. Find me a blockbuster-sized video game in the last 3 years that has launched with all of its features, without any game-breaking bugs, and has been actually good. The RNG loot system was terrible, there was no lore behind what could have been a great universe, boring campaign, etc. I could go on really.

Everyone has their preferences. If you were expecting an fps: guess what: you were disappointed. If you were expecting an MMO: guess what: you were disappointed. But let's be totally honest here. How much of the lore of Halo was actually apparent in the campaign before Halo 4? Eh. Bungie is all about: you want to lore? You can read a bunch of extra stuff that we'll put out later and you may or may not unlock or even realize its existence. You don't want lore? Cool, here's the game.

But that a whole other rant. This thread is about whether or not SW Battlefront will live up to whatever it's supposed to live up to.

My brother just pointed this out...but the Star Destroyer in the movie trailer that's crashed...We're pretty sure, like 95% sure that it is the same one falling in the trailer with Boba Fett

I wish they wouldn't have built this up as the reboot of the Battlefront franchise. Yeah it looks amazing, but it looks and sounds like it's Star Wars: Battlefield. And the report that there is only 4 planets is disappointing to say the least.
