As the title suggests I'm done with the Faction Owner position. This has nothing to do with the NJO thread, and more that I've lost touch with what I love to do. So as things like this are usually put to a vote, I've asked and subsequently believe that [member="Zark"] is more than capable enough to fill these boots.

If you've got any suggestions, as to who you think is better, please feel free to list them here and we'll vote on someone from the listed nominees.

EDIT: I'm looking to get this sorted before the weekend is out, so you guys got until then to make your choice.

Quick question, do you mean "sorted" as in all the nominations done by closing date of Nov 6th and then we start a voting poll?

Me too. But I'm most interested in the nominees' positions regarding the Reconstruction Authority.

I know about the GAPDP fiasco and how it became a one-writer thing, and the main culprit was identified as bring the lack of incentives. The only things that have been made clear are the IC role and the OOC prospect of major-faction contracts to participant companies (so long as said companies are at least ICly neutral to the GA).

[member="Charzon Loulan"]: During the Omega Battle Crisis War, Charzon singlehandedly was able to take out over 3000 meters worth of Rogue Sith ships. A capable commander would be ideal for the Galactic Alliance. In addition, who doesn't like Pizza Hutt.

[member="Cathul Thuku"]: As a failed psychiatrist, she may not be the best of candidates but her work medically should be noted. One of the smarter of her species, she truly does have a heart for helping people. In addition, she has some rather complex thoughts on the Force that if explored could provide a wealth of knowledge and superior technology.

[member="Ugohr Poof"]: While currently imprisoned for the misapplication of military assets on Chandrila, he would make an excellent candidate. We need to have someone that is willing to press the big red button rather than dilly dally, wading through bureaucracy and instead making the hard decisions swiftly and with no remorse. It should be noted that while Gungan, Ughor is not related to that troublemaker Jar Jar Binks you read about in your history books.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]: While stunningly good looks aren't a requirement, it's one she certainly fills. As the figurehead of the Galactic Alliance she could stun her foes, or perhaps blast them with her Wookie Bowcaster. In addition, her mind works much like a computer, able to calculate and process complex equations in short time. Someone able to address unknown variables and provide quick input would be good.

In addition, it also appears that [member="Zark"] has a fine handle on how to run ships, he's pretty much a great choice.

[member="Vale Endriss"] You listed 4 of my characters, along with their attributes that would make them good IC assets to a character that is OOCly a GA admin, or owner even. But I want the character to cause no OOC or IC issues.

And so I have to decline Charzon's nomination because she is in deep IC trouble. She is rather, let's say it, temperamental as a commander and, as Korriban showed it, highly inconsistent. Her misuse of military assets on Korriban was even worse than Ugohr's on Chandrila. I know it will carry major OOC consequences if, for some reason, we had the Butcher of Korriban as a naval commander in GA service. As a writer I can be someone to press the big red button rather than to dilly-dally. Plus it would make no sense for Ugohr to have Alliance-wide IC responsibilities from prison, although I would probably want someone to counsel Ugohr before he can get paroled.

I will accept only 1 nomination as a writer. It will go to Cathul.

What you'd get intellectually out of Jessica, you'll get it out of Cathul, too. They're both geniuses with minds that work like computers. And she best exemplifies what the Alliance stands for. Plus, as a therapist, she had in the last ~15 IC years patients from all too many kinds of experience so I think she would be able to fleet if necessary.

I haven't been around the faction too long since I came back to the site pretty recently, but from what I saw [member="Zark"] is a very good writer and was on top of things in dominions, plus I trust Astarii's judgement.

As to Jacen, I haven't seen his work recently, but me and the writer worked together before during Protectorate days and some Confederacy I think? Anyway, he's a good alternative too.

There's also [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] but we never gave her more responsibility than being a Colonel in OP for a reason
