Sudden Falls

Kurt smiled, returning the embrace for just a moment until Kaile pulled away.

He'd felt the baby kick before of course, but it was such an odd thing that he thought he'd never quite get used to it. It was normal for someone as far along as Kaile, but it was still more than a little bit weird for Kurt himself. Maybe just because of how all of this was. Nevertheless he didn't let it bother him.

”Let's sit by the water.” Kurt suggested.

The ground was usually softer around there, and that meant it would be more comfortable. Without giving her a chance to suggest Kurt headed towards a small beach like section that sat snuggly up against the lake.

There he quickly spread the blanket they had brought along, not wanting to dirty up their clothes.

Moving along beside Kurt was a normal act in at of itself. She might be pregnant, but she made sure to lend a helping hand any way she could. Moving to the opposite side of where the pilot had set down the blanket, Kaile did her best to smooth out the corners, ensure the square was set right so that they both would be able to sit down comfortably.

"Well, if'n you don't wanna go visit your ma and pa," Kaile began, continuing the conversation before. "What else you wanna do?" They had some leave coming up. The Alliance wasn't expecting them to go from planet to planet scanning information nonstop. A small cluck of her tongue relayed her satisfaction that the blanket was set just right, and she promptly sat down. A small sigh of relief followed a deep inhale of fresh air. There were little bits of pollen flying here and there, lazily swooping along with the leaves the breeze would pick up from time to time.

"Close to the Core as we are... lots of options."

That she was a small thought, going somewhere else.

His first choice of course would have been to go see Jamie, but he'd already found out that she was going to be a tad busy over their next leave. Apparently the Queen of Naboo didn't actually get a lot of vacation time, something Kurt found a bit silly really. If anyone needed a vacation it was the ruler of a planet.

Lots of stress. "Well."

Kurt began, almost thinking out loud.

The core was one of the most populace places in the entire galaxy, one could do a great many things as long ad they had the money. He frowned for a moment, scheming and plotting for just a second before an idea formed.

"We could try sneaking into Vineta?" He smirked at Kaile.

She had seen a brochure for the 'classy Zeltros' some time ago, and it had been something they'd both wanted to see. The place was fancy as a ball on Alderaan and generally only for the rich, but the idea of trying to sneak into there was more than a little bit amusing.

Particularly given Kailes...situation.

"Vineta?" Kaile's face gave a little scrunch as she settled her mind upon the so called 'classy zeltros' city. It was as shiny of a place as any to go visit, constructed by Mister Kuhn and Miz Arceneau together, or something of the sort. Kaile didn't quite have the details but it was supposed to be filled with all kinds of sights and delights.

Although, likely not the sort of place a pregnant woman might be best suited for. However, like Kurt, there was an amusing thought in it. Both palms came to rest on top of her knees, legs falling back until she was sitting in a semi cross legged style. Her nose gave a twitch.

"And go window shopping or something?" not like they'd ever be able to afford anything. It would be much like their visit to Cloud 9.

He gave her a nod, slowly sitting down and putting the small basket onto the blanket.

They were too poor to really do much of anythingnij a place like Vineta, but that didn't mean they couldn't have any fun there. Things could often be played just the right way so the outcome was something a whole heck of a lot more enjoyable than one might think.

They'd just have to be sneaky. "Could be fun."

Though of course they'd probably have to tell a few lies just to be able to land at the place, but that was all in good sport. Neither he nor Kaile wanted to hurt anyone after all.

"There's beaches there too." He'd read somewhere water was good for pregnant women. "Swimming and such."

Kaile gave a snort of humor, giving a small pat of her belly as if to say, ‘yeah, swimming.’ “Ain’t no swimming that I’ll be able to do,” she said, chuckling to herself.

“More like floating. I’ll just be bobbing up and down and probably end up carted off by the waves.”

Well, it was a thought. Would mean that they would get out of the Core Worlds, maybe even explore some of the other ones along the way.

“Yeah, let’s do that. We can run off and get some supplies before going there.” She suggested. “Bet anything we get down there will be marked up a ridiculous rate.”

Maybe they could head along and see what they could find. Refuel, spend some of their credits, and have fun. Maybe do a quick check up by the local medbay to make sure the baby was alright.

"Definitely stop somewhere before we arrive." Kurt agreed.

Vineta was supposed to be an upscale version of Zeltros, if that could even be believed. There was something about the place that was supposed to attract the richest of the rich. Kurt had seen pictures of course, but not much beyond that. He had never really been much for sights, but that didn't really mean much for him.

He wanted to do this for Kaile.

"Head up one of the trade spines." He told her with a smile, knowing that already she was likely getting a little bit excited about the chance at visiting a place like Vineta. Unlike himself Kaile loved to look at the sights, even if they couldn't actually afford to do anything. It was just going there that was nice. "Cheap fuel and the jumps will be easy on The Messa."

He liked doing little things for her, make life a little better. "The path will be a bit...erratic, but that shouldn't be a problem."

Half the time when you jumped through the core you had to do loops anyway.

"Let's eat first though." Kurt suggested, pulling some food from the basket they had brought.

“Well dig in!” Kaile cried, using a free hand to encourage him to pick through the basket and eat his fill. Amused, the Lorrdian would watch as her best friend went rifling through the basket to pluck a sandwich for himself and for her.

“Thank you.” the young woman replied with a wide grin, fingers curling round the offered food to bring it up for her to enjoy. This was nice. Real nice. Might be boring, but she was here with Kurt and the baby. A gentle rub and pat went over her stomach.

“You’ll enjoy that too won’t you, kiddo?” Kaile replied, giving a soft sigh. As they ate, Kaile couldn’t help but wonder just what the future might bring once the baby was born. Things would get complicated, she knew that. Where would they go? What would they do? The Messa was too small for a baby to be a part of the equation. Not to mention, Kaile doubted Kurt wanted to be bothered by a baby. He might want to help out, but he now had someone else in his life. The mysterious Jamie.

Kinda awkward after all this time. HOnestly she hadn’t asked him how things went, but it seemed pretty bad. Then things got better but… well.. Don’t ask, don’t tell.

Kaile could only hope things are well for Kurt.
