Sword of Light (Lady Kay)

Veiere swung his lightsaber low , sweeping across his front just shy of himself in order to block and deflect the first of the strikes away from his legs; yet he hadn't expected the same attack twice and was forced to jump, aiding his climb with the force, he propelled himself from the ground and curled his legs into his stomach, somersaulting in a single back-flip away from her third strike that would have cut him from his right to his left. In mid flight however as he prepared for his landing, his arm reached out and he again deflected the last of the strikes at the height of it's swing, attempting to put her off balance and set his counter-action into motion.

Landing lightly upon his feet, his steps were quick, making up the distance swiftly and deactivating his lightsaber so that it didn't run her through when he came short of an inch away from her, his left hand taking a hold of her shoulder though not at all stifling her movement while his right hand placed the tip of his hilt against her stomach and everything stopped. In battle it would have been a killing blow yet in training, Veiere was smiling. Both at the closeness of the two but also the irony of her words, he wanted the moment to be able to speak some truth to her and prove her own statement completely wrong.

The underlined text is a powerplay. In a real PvP fight, any player who dictates your characters movements or claims to succeed in their strike against you with no chance of a counter or evasion, is at fault. This is considered unfair and is mentioned within the rules. If this happens, you should message them privately and ask to discuss an alternative/edit.

I however am doing it as an example so you can identify a bad play and hopefully be able to deal with it without drama.

"You are a politician and a leader" He spoke gently, his eyes locking with hers and offering only warmth as opposed to the discomfort she was feeling from not living up to her own expectations; "Soldiers are trained to think tactically in the moment yet follow orders from their higher ups, people listen to the words of those in charge and you more so than anyone else I've met of late have shown plenty of times that you're able to think and move swiftly, intelligently and tactically ahead of your opposition. Your mistake is that you are thinking to much...".

Slowly he retreated some few paces away from her though in honesty, he'd rather have stayed in such a proximity to her. Trying not to dwell on how good it felt, he forced it out of his mind and spoke again, "The lightsaber is to be an extension of your arm...", he turned side on from her and stepped ahead, his arm extending and whilst doing so he triggered the activation of the blade and showed her a strong swift strike, a piercing strike alike what would have come of her had it been a real fight. His wrist soon rolled, flicking right as he twirled the lightsaber in his one hand, pivoting on the heel of his left foot and spinning in a 180 degree arc, sweeping the blade around while his knee bent and he dropped to a kneel, thrusting it once more ahead of him, the opposite direction he had been facing during the first. "Over time, you will learn to use the sword as easily as you do your arms..." He slowly rose back to his feet and turned to face her once more; "Though you must be like water. Flow with the force and feel, do not think. Your mind will breed doubt but your instincts and your senses will guide you. Listen to the force and perceive what is happening before and around you yet do not panic, do not begin to stress...Become serene and in time you will learn how to anticipate attacks as I do. Precognition through peace of mind and harmony within the Force and your connection with it".

"Take a moment" He said as he rolled his shoulders and sought to settle his breathing, his blade disengaging once more intent on leading her through a brief exercise of a different sort, "Where you stand, deactivate the lightsaber and close your eyes....-Take five deep breaths, in through your mouth and exhale through your nose. While you do this, I want you to listen to your surroundings, ignore your mind...-and then we will continue".

Kay was not surprised that [member="Veiere Arenais"] had countered her moves perfectly. Yet what did surprise her was the sudden rush forward while she was regaining her balance, followed by the grip on her shoulder and hilt to her stomach. She lifted her thumb off the pressure point of her own saber while he spoke, and the blade retreated. Her mind held onto his words while he held her gaze. Veiere was her advisor, and though he was no politician, he did stop her from making a couple of mistakes. She wasn't perfect, she knew that and this training session was proving that to her even more. Was she thinking too much?...Probably.

She felt the warmth leave her shoulder as he let her go and stepped away. For a moment she wondered why he did. Kay felt as though she could listen to him for hours on end with his soft voice and arms wrapped around her. But then Veiere gave her a bit of a display to prove his point and show her what she could learn. Healing someone or herself was easier. AShe was able to tune everyone out and focus solely on the wounded. Even creating shields or pushing someone from her mind seemed much easier than trying to best her teacher. "My mind is always at work. I have so many that rely on me, and with the Cartel sniffing at our door..."

Kay just let that thought hang there as he told her to take a moment. She held her saber loosely at her side and closed her eyes. She took in a deep breath and forced it out in a bit of a sigh, still not at all impressed with herself. She took in a deep breath and let it out more slowly this time. She had to learn this, for both herself and for everyone else. She didn't want to be a failure again. Another breath was taken and released, and this time she tried to tell herself to stop thinking. As if on cue, a breeze had picked up, allowing her to feel the air current as it moved against her skin and her clothes. Kay focused on how it moved, how it sounded when it flew past Veiere and their surroundings while she continued to take deep breaths. If only she could move as gracefully.

This was one such thing that they would need to work on together in order to expand upon [member="Lady Kay"]'s abilities and connection with the Force; to be able to quieten her mind and push away the conscious state, to be able to fall into the subconscious and allow her body and mind to fall upon the Force so that it might guide her in her movements, in her reactions and her emotions. Should she be able to attain the calm and collective restraint that the Jedi Order were known for, perhaps then might she able able to practice as the Jedi did, moving with the flow and grace that was the swordsmanship of a practitioner of the Force and the ability to close off all other notions of doubt and fear. Veiere remained still, his eyes upon Kay as she began to do as was suggested, entering the beginning phase of a meditative trance in order to, Veiere hoped, calm her emotions and quieten her mind.

"The Force lives and it breathes through everything..." He began to speak quietly, reminding her as this wasn't the first time he'd spoken of the Force to her yet the gentleness of his voice and the notion of the significance of it all, again he hoped would further convince her mind to calm; "It spans the galaxy, has existed since the creation of life and will surpass us when ours is over, it is unending and infinite. Push away your self-criticisms and your expectations, learn to listen to the force so that you might connect with it and put your faith in it first, before yourself".

It was easy to grow calm with the soft tone of [member="Veiere Arenais"] ' voice. Or perhaps she was just that comfortable around him. His voice was soothing. She could listen to it for hours on end. Letting go of her expectations and doubt wasn't so easy, but with each breath and with each small gust of wind, she found her mind was becoming more clear.

Kay had to tighten her grip on her lightsaber, nearly dropping it as she was becoming more relaxed. Her thumb rested on the pressure point, yet she did not trigger the hidden switch inside. Instead she just waited. Either Veiere would tell her to turn it on and attack him again, or he would make a move against her. Regardless, she found herself to be poised and ready, even though she wasn't quite in a defensive stance.

"Now remember. Do not think. Feel. Flow with your instincts".

His right hand lowered the hilt to point away from himself, his thumb triggering the activation and in a blaze of glorious and vibrant blue light, streams of energy shot out of the hilt with a loud snap and a swift hiss to follow. The grip thrummed with the vibrations of the weapons make, the energy being held and accurately contained in the shape of the sword of light; Veiere brought the weapon to the ready, turning side on from [member="Lady Kay"] and taking it into both hands, the blade pointing skyward.

"Your first lesson in the saber arts will be concerning the third form of the Jedi Order, Soresu of which is both defensive yet advantageous if practiced right. Your movements should be as water, flowing yet never out of control. The aim of the form is to expel as little of your own stamina as possible whilst defending yourself and forcing those on the attack to give everything. Doing so will result in their tire and your opportunity for a counter-offensive" he was about to throw her into the deep end of the form, admittedly. Most he would have started off using training blasters to learn to deflect the bolts through precognitive defensive strikes, rebounding the shots away from herself yet she was no youngling and her experience already vastly outweighed those of the typical students he had once long ago taken on.

"I shall be using Djem So. It is a solely offensive form and the opposite of Soresu. My objective will be to strike at you with all my strength, to finish the fight as quickly as possible. While this is a training session, take it seriously, leave nothing to chance and give it your all. If you are fighting for your life, you do not have time for doubts".

Kay nodded while he spoke of the form that he'd be teaching her. What it's called and what it was about was like speaking to her in another tongue. She had troubles visualizing it and couldn't pick out one form from another if they were shown on display for her. She always just fought by instinct, doing whatever came to her at that moment. Her late husband kept her away from battle, but gave her a few lessons when he had the time. Through the years she's had a few sparring matches with other Force users, but not so much with a lightsaber. Her most recent training had been in Force shielding, pushing and pulling objects, even thwarting attacks on her mind. But most of her opponents in real attacks have been non Force users using blasters.

She pushed those thoughts away however and returned her focus. As she heard [member="Veiere Arenais"] ignite his saber, she waited until the signal to ignite her own. His explanation of what he was going to do put her at ease. She'll be on the defensive. That was what she was used to, what she was most comfortable with. He wasn't going to hold back, so she wasn't going to either. Whether she passed or failed, it didn't matter. It wasn't something to worry about.

Veiere seemed to have given the signal. With her thumb on the pressure point, Kay triggered the ignition switch inside of the hilt. The light blue blade came to light, humming in anticipation. She relaxed her grip on it, keeping herself loose and free for movement. Her eyes slowly opened, meeting up with Veiere's.

She was ready.

Calm, serene and focused...

His legs bent, knees working to prepare for the jump that would propel him through the strength and grace of the Force, his lightsaber held still within his right hand, wrist working to spin the blade around if not only to add a further perplexing sight to his assault, he crossed the distance between them within seconds and raising the lightsaber above his head, his left finding the hilt, he brought the weapon down in a strong vertical slash that would find her head first were [member="Lady Kay"] not quick enough to step away and out of his reach.

Strong in the Force and strong in herself, though she knew it not, Kay held the potential to rise above her self-doubt. Had she only learn to dedicate herself to the path, she could learn to best him in battle. Such is why he held nothing back, wanting to see that prowess come to surface within her.

His Lightsaber would come to connect with the ground if evasion was to be her response; though the height and distance of the jump forced Veiere's right knee to buckle in the landing and press down into the ground with all of his weight that one of the tiles cracked beneath him. His gaze never once left her body however, tracking her movements, never losing sight of his target, he called upon the force to continue to fuel his body with the strength and stamina that someone of his age usually lacked; again moving to his feet and pursuing her, his right hand sweeping the lightsaber out horizontally in a wide arc the height of her chest as he jumped again, this time far shorter though just enough to come to blows with her, a 360 degree spin to add momentum to the strength of the strike.

Aggression, it was not of the nature he had chosen but of that the Force bred into all men and some women too. He felt none here and now in the moment but the shear tactics that he was pursuing, the form of Djem So that he maintained in order to show Kay Larr the heat of a duel, it was not natural to him and he could only really simulate the true violence of a Sith or fallen Jedi. If it came down to it all, she would only really know their darkness upon facing it first and foremost of her own gaze.

Kay watched as [member="Veiere Arenais"] made his jump towards her. It was high and as his body began to descend from the top of the jump's arc, it almost seemed to move in slow motion for her. Or maybe her thoughts were just moving that quickly. She waited until the last possible split second, knowing that he couldn't change direction of descent mid-air, and moved to her right to get out of reach.

Only when he had paused on the ground, down on one knee, did Kay think of another way that she could have reacted to his jump, moving behind him to his exposed back. Her late husband always told her to only expose your back to a corpse. So quickly she moved to get around behind him, but Veiere was very good and seemed to have anticipated what she would do. Before she could reach his back, he was spinning and swinging his blade towards her. Instead of bringing her blade up to counter his momentum and stop it, she stepped back and swung her blade in the same direction that his was going, almost chasing it to force his to expose his shoulder. Keeping her blade in between his blade and her body while maintaining her focus, she reached out and gave him a Force push to continue the same momentum of his spin and hopefully cause him to lose his balance.

((Hope that makes sense. It does in my head...lol))

[member="Lady Kay"]'s lightsaber ricocheted off of his own blade with a hiss of energies opposing one another, it had been an instinctive response and then to follow up, she had put some obvious thought into the telekinetic burst that took the same arm and side he had used in the swing, further throwing him off balance and causing him to stumble several paces away from her. A hoarse laugh escaped him between pursed lips as Veiere spun the blade of his lightsaber around with a swift flick of his wrist and soon brought it back up to the ready, the blue stream of briliant light standing vertically centered before him, his right hand holding the shaft of the hilt while his left sat atop of the wrist in preparation for another two handed offensive.

Around the pair, the force flowed powerfully. They shared the same connection to the lifestream of the galaxy and their practice of it only strengthened the presence of the force and too the aura between them. Each moment that Kay spent learning and practicing the ways of the Force would only serve to expand upon the already significant potential that she'd unlocked thus far. All experiences of life, dangers faced and survived, the keen insight of her mind and stories of her past all played a key point in her prowess within the Force. She only needed to acknowledge it, find a balanced sense of confidence so that she were not to become cocky but rather open to listening to her gut feeling and allowing her instincts to carry her.

Again his steps were swift and firmly planted into the ground with every intent to close the gap between them; both hands took the hilt into his grip and drawing the blade across the courtyard floor behind him, he launched forward and brought it sweeping up and out ahead of him in a vertical strike, his feet rolling his weight to the back of his heels soon to pivot and buckling at the knees, he spun himself a full 360 degree's whilst dropping to a single knee'd crouch, his left hand releasing the lightsaber while his right brought the blade arcing around him intent for her legs.

Nothing of Veiere felt threatening, his mind completely calm albiet focused yet not at all representing the mindset that you might face in a true battle. All that he did, he did for her benefit and with the safety of knowing these weapons were dulled down so much so in frequency that they'd only bruise one another, he needn't hold back, knowing that she would not come to harm.

Kay watched [member="Veiere Arenais"] while he moved, not so much like he was an enemy, but as a student would study a teacher. Fighting was one of the skills in the Force that she had yet to master, and she wasn't afraid to admit it to those that knew of her gifts. It was probably another reason why so many looked out for her. They didn't believe that she could protect herself. She didn't have much confidence in it either.

The vertical strike caused her to step to the side and as she was about to go for his exposed back again, the Jedi seemed to have figured that out and swung at her legs. She turned her wrist, bringing her blade's tip to the floor and then once she caught his blade, she pushed upwards, wanting to bring both blades high. If it worked, it would create an opening for her to give a swift kick to his ribs, given that he was in a crouch.

The last of his attempts had been a single handed strike that arced out just shy of the ground floor; so when [member="Lady Kay"] moved to block and deflect it skyward alongside her blade crackling against it and guiding it high, the strength that he had put into the effort lacked that needed to cleave through her defense. Instead, he did as intended and with his blade lifting high above them both, the corner of his mind screamed the truth he could already see coming; he was open to her counter-attack.

Precognition was a curious thing, never something that you yourself could trigger but something that seemed to aid you as much as your instincts did. In training to hone your natural prowess in battle, the training of said instincts also provoked the ease of the sixth sense, the eye unseen.

He had seen the movement, Kay shifted in order to bring her knee forcefully into his side and she played her part beautifully; in every sense of the word. Veiere however had other plans and feeling his side cave to the impact of her knee, his free hand grabbed her by the thigh and held her firmly against him while his right hand triggered the deactivation of his lightsaber. This would allow her blade to pass through where his disintegrated back into the shaft and rather than ignite it once more, he instead brought the end of the hilt back to be placed against her shoulder. It was a rather conniving move though to amusing as he held her in such close proximity; unsure of how she would try to react yet in a live fight, the hilt that he held against her would have been placed somewhere with the intention of a far more fatal re-ignition; likely the heart.

Trakata - like Sokan it was a sect of the saber arts, unlike the forms but more a style of swordsmanship in that the blade wasn't always lit but activated on and off when it suited the swordsman. It made certain strikes much more difficult to parry or deflect as without the blade, the momentum of the hilt could not be stopped unless the hands or wrist were targets. Thus Trakata had a weakness in Shii-Cho, the first of the forms of lightsaber combat taught in the Jedi Order.

Kay was taken by surprise, both by him grabbing her leg, as well as when he shut off his lightsaber and placed the hilt at her shoulder. There were other places that he could have put the hilt and the shock of it all was written on her face. Now what to do?

She lifted her thumb from the pressure point of her lightsaber hilt, shutting it off. But instead of just putting it down, she smirked and brought it up under [member="Veiere Arenais"] ' chin. She used the same move on a Stormtrooper, albeit with a blaster. "Checkmate..."

She removed the saber after a moment, looking at him while he held her leg. It was a closeness with him that was rare, for they respected eachother's boundaries greatly. But it certainly wasn't an unwanted closeness. "In all seriousness though, what should I really do in this type of situation?"

He could not help but offer up a gentle smirk, the corner of his mouth curling in a lop-sided little smile; he neglected to let her go and his eyes found her own to be both perplexing and illustrious. Kay had found his chin, her response to his passive attempt to end the sparring match only met with the same of her own and though her shoulder was not a fatal mark, his throat and head certainly was. If ever there were an opportunity, now was to be his best. With a lightsaber hilt at his throat and her figure against his own, he lost himself in the splendor of her company. What he did was not in attempt to best her in the would-be duel, but to be with her in life.

His lips found her own, he offered not a moments reluctance that she might pull away in self-consciousness but rather he kissed her with gentle care; his right hand traced the hilt across her chest and down to her hip, his left reluctantly letting her leg go to slowly slide down least she be in any rush to escape him, it soon found the right side of her and with her in his embrace, he forgot about everything else, his own doubts included.

It wasn't as though he thought his actions through, this wasn't a moment of conscious planning but the climax of an affection that had settled in the back of his mind for far too long with little notion of acknowledgement in how he had grown to feel about her. Judging by his character and their past experience, she knew him to be anything but forward in such a way so it would no doubt come as a surprise and though he wasn't certain she felt the same, she had shown less resistance to his subtle and sometimes sly little comments than he would have expected from someone who wanted nothing of him.

After what felt like the longest moment of his recent days, his eyes opened once more as his lips parted from her own and though he did not pull away, his head tilted down as he averted his gaze from [member="Lady Kay"], his mind suddenly rife with worry that he'd overstepped his bounds and in the immediate presence of anxiety, all that he could do to soften his nerves was respond in a joking manner to her questioning the situation coming about in live combat; "Should this happen with anyone else, don't return the kiss" his grin had returned though a little awkward as was the chuckle that escaped him under his breath.

It was highly unexpected. What Kay thought that she would get would be the experience of a new technique to get out of a stalemate. But instead [member="Veiere Arenais"] had kissed her and was kissing her still. Her body froze, but not in a rigid sense, she was just in shock.

As he released her leg, she let it drop slowly and planted her foot on the ground. Was she floating? Or dreaming? No. She could feel the dirt and pebbles under her boots. She returned the kiss then, lowering her lightsaber from his chin while he embraced her.

When Veiere broke the kiss, she kept her eyes closed for a moment longer, letting it linger there in memory. It wasn't until he spoke that she opened her eyes. He stole her joke! Well part of it anyways. She was going to ask him if kissing her opponent was what she should do to get out of that situation. It seemed as though they both were resorting to humour in order to lighten the sudden change in their relationship. The innocence was still there, but not at the same time. There was an acknowledgement, a confirmation of their suspicions towards how they felt about one another. It solidified their bond even more, now that the fear of rejection was gone.

She tilted her head and waited for his eyes to meet hers before she spoke. "Is this how duels are always won on the battlefield? By stealing a kiss? If so, then I shall keep you with me always, so that I don't have a reason to fear someone stealing your heart." He had hers. Never had she thought that she could feel this way ever again. Hopefully destiny doesn't rip it away.

Ah, Romance. If ever there was a thing to pull him back into what simulated the adolescent nerves of a doting mind, it was this. Even in his age and experience, it was difficult not to wonder if he should have taken the leap of faith, or what to do next. At least, that was the initial feeling right up until he found her eyes on his and knew just how mutual their feelings were for one another.

She was ever so the politician, her gift with words caused him to tilt his head marginally to the right as he studied her, that smirk of his only growing wider. If only it were she that he would always be dueling, victory forever soft and sweet had that be the case. His left hand rose slowly, extending his fingers to brush through her hair upon her right as he replied, words that were upon a gentle voice yet sounded too eager, as if he had been withholding them for an age now.

"I did tell you...-You are my one priority, above all else you are what's important to me...", it was more or less the same line he had spoken to her only the night before. They had been discussing the Commenori people and his position by her side as it so often did, came into the light of the subject to which he had reiterated that above everything, given that he had to make the difficult choice, he would turn to her before all others. "I do not expect another will steal my heart when you hold it so".

By the Force, if Cyril could hear him now, Veiere would be the victim of an unending piss take. However his brother in arms wasn't here, he had fallen to the violence of the galaxy alike so many others. Few good people survived the narcissism of the dark side of the Force; Veiere no longer had an Order to call his own nor the restrictions to keep his emotions grounded. In Kay Larr, he had come to adore and beyond their relationship, in the back of his mind it was her that kept his optimism strong in that not all things were lost should you only have the will to reach out for them.

Kay took in a small breath, leaning her head against his hand while he stroked her hair. He was gentle, yet there was a lot of strength there too. She smiled, holding his gaze while [member="Veiere Arenais"] spoke. His words brought a slight blush to her cheeks and for a moment she looked away. "I was hoping that that was what you meant. Deep down I did. But....there was a chance that you were speaking literally and was merely referring to your job. At times I watched you and felt as though I was holding you back from what you truly wanted in life."

She wanted to touch his cheek then, caress it with her palm, yet she didn't want her actions to influence his thoughts or his answer. ".....Am I holding you back? Or keeping you from something else? When my term is over, I'll do what we spoke of earlier. I'll step away from the political arena and you and I can live here or somewhere else quiet for as long as we wish."

It wouldn't be the first time that Kay had walked away from politics. Yet each time that she did, she was thrown back into it. Such a thing puzzled her a lot and she wondered just what it all meant. Politics would gain her many allies, but also many enemies, and she would constantly be put into danger, or others would put themselves into danger for her. And all for what? She wished that she had all of the answers. Maybe after some years tucked away in solitude with Veiere, she would find the answers that have eluded her.

Veiere responded with a quiet laugh, it was good that [member="Lady Kay"] had hoped as much and she'd fortunately not been disappointed to find that she was in the right yet with the company they kept, there'd been an obvious need to put formality first before their affections. "Sharing your company with the other ministers and people of Commenor has had a part to play in that; not to mention not knowing how you'd feel about all of this given your past..." He referred to her late husband of which his smile had faded a little though not entirely, instead it was filled with sympathy for her and what she'd had to overcome, compassion for her strength and who she was. "Politics is still a game of words and you never know who might seize the chance to gossip about a secret relationship between a 'Jedi and the Madame President'.." He bobbed his head to the right in a gesture of indifference; "Such things would affect you more so than I though I'm not here to make your job any more difficult than it is...". Between the two of them, they had earned their fair share of opposition. Kay still had the Hutt Cartel to contend with and those looking to take advantage in Commenor's change of leadership by getting an edge on the criminal underworld early while she had to adapt to the way things had been run before her ascension as head of state. Veiere on the other hand was anyone's game, a former Jedi often the target of dark-siders and having taken part in a number of the more significant battles of the galaxies neighboring sectors, it was a surprise he hadn't earned more of a revolt from those of the opposing sides.

As for the matter of his apparently being held back, his brows furrowed in soft-hearted frustration, not annoyance but the argument against her doubts, caring for him as she had. "I thought I explained to you already, Kay...-This is where I want to be. I would not be here if it was not of my choosing" He lowered his head some, his eyes holding her own and hopefully having her actually hear his response for the truth that it held. "I realize you're concerned, I know you think I belong with the Order but the Order is not what it once was. What remains are broken pieces that rival each other just as so as they seek to rival the nature of the Dark Side and those captured in its shroud....", those of his sort were rare in todays light; from what he had seen, the traditions of the Order that he had belonged to were no longer so readily accepted in the remnants of the Jedi that remained. The closest thing resembling the past was the Silver Sanctum Coalition and it would not be until much later where it would become known as the Silver Jedi Order, that Veiere would drift closer to it. "What we seek to achieve through your leadership of Commenor could bring just as much benefit to the galaxy and the pursuit of peace, as the Order could have in other corners of the galaxy. I do not need to be around my own people to keep true to the will of the Force, I can share it with you and still uphold my mandate"

The sympathy in [member="Veiere Arenais"]s's eyes when he spoke of her past nearly brought her to tears. But she smiled and mouthed the word, 'thank-you'. Kay chuckled to herself as he spoke of a secret relationship and all of the gossip that would follow. It was true. The tabloids would have a field day, creating stories about them that would be so outlandish, yet there would be many that would believe them. But being a politician, she was used to tall tales being made about her.

And then he leaned closer, his gaze holding her own as he tried to reassure her doubts. Veiere's words almost had a finality to them, letting her know in a polite way that there was no need for her to bring up the subject again. He had made it choice and it thankfully was the choice that kept them together.

Kay reached up with her free hand, her other still holding her lightsaber, and she traced his bearded jawline with her fingers. "I don't know what to say...I'm normally so good with words, yet I just can't find them. But...thank you." With her fingers under his chin, she drew him in for a soft kiss, showing him even more that her affection matched his own. She then broke the kiss and rested her head against his shoulder, wanting to just relish in the feeling of his arms wrapped around her, keeping her safe. The Force bond and otherwise was strengthened between them. Only death could separate them now.

Veiere took her into his arms as Kay moved against him, her head finding her shoulder and he embracing her, his chin lifting to sit atop her head and while his eyes traveled across the courtyard of the estate, he saw very little of it. The Force flowed around them, not like the air in something that you could physically feel but something that you could sense; it was vibrant and full, the strength of the natural life around them fueling it so while the two stood connected in both their connection to the Force as well as the emotional attachment they held for one another. Closing his eyes, Veiere quietly listened the the sounds of their environment; the birds and the animal life further out within the mountain covered by tree's, lands green and as far as their eyes could take them. The Valley was rife with nature and the Force was woven through it all, blanketing all things in it's encompassing presence.

'Was it dangerous to feel as comfortable as he did, standing there holding her as his and he as hers. The residency that she had given him felt as though it were worthy of an early retirement if only to share it with Kay; a future that he could indeed be quite content with. It would mark the end of his path as a Jedi and yet that was not a thought that he was able to pray upon without a sense of guilt. The galaxy had become an increasingly dangerous place, was it not selfish to turn your back on it and simply focus on the one you loved, keeping clear of such travesties'.

His eyes opened as he heard Kay speak, it encouraged the pull to the corner of his mouth in something of warm smirk hearing that she had more or less been taken of her words. "When your term is over and you step away from government, this is where I would like us to be. Here, surrounded by nature with not a single other soul in sight to begrudge us with such controversies..." She looked up at him with a playful grin.
