Junko led the way into the waiting speeder. I was relieved that it was obviously not a military model. It was a spacious model with a lot of room and from the looks of things someone could live on this speeder for a good long time if that was needed. “This place looks like you took the common areas of the Deviant and added a bunch of Artisian tech so that someone could take this on a long trip.” The thought made me giggle. Taking a long time for transport didn’t seem like something that Artisians were interested in. I followed all the way to the cockpit and sat in the seat next to Junko. “Let’s see what’s out there. I would be interested in looking this thing over. Land vehicles are not my specialty, but I’m sure there might be some things that I recognize. And if I’m going to settle down here I’m assuming air travel isn’t the best way to get from here to there. Are there vehicles to traverse the sea as well? Or do we need to go over or under the water to travel between islands?”

"THe runabouts are the basic model for our personal speeder crafts... you can do just about anything you need in it for trips and they store really easily on ships with their boxy design. Racks can hold several stacked on top of each other." She said it and bringing the controls up while they could heaad out she was getting some more of the information for her. "The best way to get from the island to the palace or the port is walking or it will be. THe island has skiffs that can be used and you could round the point for it if you wanted to. The pathway I talked about before would take you to the side of the palace itself and yes we have vehicles for the sea with the skiffs or some of the other speeder models. The celeste are a little large for your liking, think a star destroyer meets cruise ship."

Junko explained that the model we were taking was a common one. That wasn’t too surprising. It wasn’t extravagant, though everything Junko owned seemed to have bells and whistles on it. As we rushed along, the Princess explained that walking or speeder was the best method of transit between islands. “The best way is the one I will choose. I wasn’t ever very fond of oversea travel, though on Mon Cala and Manaan it was that or fly. In those cases I made an exception. I will be happy to walk, just wasn’t sure if I should go to the effort of having a sea dock on the island in case others wish to take a boat.” Junko went on to explain that a Celeste would be too much for me. When she said to think about a star destroyer I knew it was the truth. “I might enjoy a ride on Celeste here or there. I’ve heard good things about the right cruise. But in general, yeah. That seems like a bit much for me.”

The trip would be fast enough and they could get there over the mountain with a smile on her face when she was going. Junko moved it lower and the island came into view as it was gleaming with trees and grass, a few of the birds around and areas that were surveyed. More aareas were set up for them as she brought it in. "A sea dock could be fun, there is a lot here and always a chance for more... and a cruise well we can get you one of those... thhey go around Atrisia but we also have ships on Spira and a few other water worlds where the people like to pay. All of the amenities of an Atrisian home and craft on the water plus dozens of entertainment chances."

We weren’t in the ground transport for long. When the island came into view I gasped. “That is beautiful,” I whispered as much to myself as to Junko. Bigger than I needed. Could definitely share some space with the fisheries. At least for as long as it was just me and visitors on the island. “I heard the secret to a good cruise was the right company,” I replied with a wink. “Though all the Atrisian comforts would make a solo voyage at least somewhat enjoyable.” I couldn't believe how flirty I could be with the princess. But for the moment I found no reason to stop.

Junko had a grin on her face at that as she was bringing it in for them to be able to see. The shuttle touched down in a larger area that gave a good view of the island and where it would connect as well as parts of the rock that stuck out. "A good cruise with someone is always the best way." SHe had a smile on her face when she was checking Latyuo's reaction. "It is wonderful out here and all of the comforts are important if you use them the right way." Her grin remained as she opened the bay doors for the shuttle and was walking out onto the grass. "THe energy bridge would go over there where it can connect and be maintained while shielding poles are easy enough to set up in case of storms that get through the main ones around the island a secondary layer can keep waves from washing and flooding. Then there is the areas where you will be able to get docks or even a repair bay. THere are plenty of watercraft that could use a skilled mechanic business close at hand."

I was absolutely amazed at the view of “my island”. Though I couldn’t really believe that it was the case. Not yet at least. It was all such a fantasy. A wonderful steady job, a smart and beautiful employer who has become much more than that and now a real home, on a private island no less. It might take time to get things set up, but knowing the Atrisian way probably not long. I looked over to Junko, who was looking back at me. I offered a sheepish smile not believing she would do any of this for me. I leaned against the Princess’ shoulder so I could look at the same angle as she explained what the island could look like and how I would get back to the main island to visit. “It sounds too good to be true. I don’t know how to begin to thank you. But I will certainly offer good prices on my labor in getting any vessel that is under my care back in use and better than ever.”

Too good to be true.. Junko looked at her for a moment and thought about it. "Hmm I never thought about it, I suppose it might seem like that to another who hasn't been here to see well... what we have done. This is the least we can do to offer better incentives for labor and workers to improve the Commonwealth. We have to compete with the other governments and companies in the galaxy so credits, housing, food, entertainment... the things people want and need are important." She nodded but there was not much elsse a smile on her face. "And we look forward to your labor being here." She stretched out her arms though and was wrapping one around her. "And you have me to try and help improve upon."

I couldn’t do much more than smile and blush at Junko at first. “Well you have certainly gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and valued. I hope I live up to that value placed on my potential contributions.” I certainly was having a lot of trouble understanding how anyone could leave the Commonwealth if this is how its citizens were treated. I had seen what the “common man” received in the Empire and even the Galactic Alliance as a whole. And the feeding frenzy of Hutt Space forget about the normal person wanting to hang around there. But here…This place seemed like a paradise in so many ways. I more than willingly accepted Junko’s embrace, placing my own arm around her waist to stay quite close together. “I look forward to working very closely with you to make this place as beneficial as possible for me, you and the Commonwealth as a whole.”

She nodded with that holding the woman close. "Well that is perfect and oh so many things can be planned for here... we have much more to do and never know what else you might find." She was looking at the island itself and they could lay out many things here... but it would take the time to be built and give them plenty of space so they could do what they wanted to. "We'll get a design or two that can be ready, lay the foundation and really start working on some of the other plans. We have so much more coming in the Commonwealth and that is before we do the different parties... or festivals or even ceremonies."

I was quite grateful that being held close by the princess was becoming something of a comfort, and didn’t cause quite the annoying blush that it had when it first started to happen. It was quite obvious that despite my initial protests that the princess and I were going to be more than friends. And this was not something that I was willing to fight anymore because I wanted a family in the future. Why should I have to turn down the wonderful opportunity in front of me now in favor of a future that might never materialize. The future is never a certainty. There is always room to change and grow, It sounded so corny, but at the moment it was truly my belief. I had it all figured out. Take smuggling jobs to get by until I meet a guy and then settle down. But what sorta guy was I going to meet when I’m constantly running around on outlaw jobs? And now I’ve got this woman staring me in the face and she’s more than I could ever hope for. The future changes. But right now I’m happy when I’m with Junko. ”I will work on a basic layout of what I think would be best for my needs to service the area. Do you think I could get topographical survey holos sent to a datapad? I’d hate to try to make the plans by memory. And knowing slopes and such will help in my decisions.” By the Force, Junko even makes parties and festivals sound like a good idea. Am I falling for her that hard? ”Well. Plans are what I’m good at…I’ll need some help fitting in at parties though. I’ve been a bit of a wallflower most of my life.”

"Festivals are important, there is usually a celebration for something every month. It lets people have a reason to socialize if they need it." She made a not... "And we can send all of the data needed for your ideas of the local area. We have many options and ideas for others facilities to build." She knew with the work for homes and palaces there was the important things... like their sensor net and areas that would protect and conceal the island. Just holding the women she stretched out with a grin on her face. "The additional work we will be doing around the palace and the island. We were looking to increase the engineering when it came to fisheries and aviaries. It would allow for raising and having abundent fish and game birds to eat here and they would spread to the surrounding islands."

In my short time in Atrisia I have come to see that the statement of festivals being important was true. The idea of monthly parties was a bit overwhelming for me, but surely I would be able to skip one or two. Supisy would be happy to take my place. I certainly hope that Junko understands I’m just not a party person. ”How do you account for some beings’ need for solitude,” I asked with a nervous giggle. Was I really that antisocial that I would pass on a chance to be with Junko. Luckily the Princess confirmed that requested data can be provided. That was good because some of my plans would need completely flat foundations, while others could be a bit more forgiving. ”I’m looking forward to being part of those solutions. I know my focus is on ships and such, but I think my skills can be used in other places as well.

"Attendance is not mandatory, they are for different things. Some gatherings, some celebrations of the past, some for families and claans to be together. It isn't a massive social gathering." She offered the grin from her face though and she was more than happy for it. "Your skills are always welcome and we have been working on our education to make it so skills and learning will be there if anyone wants to improve. If you ever get the chance Miyoung may be one of the smartest and she knows a lot of different things." Her one handmaiden was likely collectively smarter than all of the others but Miyoung was one of the ones working on improving vastly what Atrisian students were being taught including the basics, advanced and from around the galaxy making them university trained at younger ages compared to the rest. "We'll see to it though and don't worry, I don't expect you to if I don't go to every social gathering."

Somehow not being forced into attending festivals was not the relief that I had expected. But when the further explanation of the purpose of the festivals it was obvious that I would not feel comfortable or needed at some of them. At least until I became more a part of the whole Artisian community. The festivals that would help that happen I would gladly attend. Especially if attendance meant spending time with Junko. I was quite happy to hear that there was an importance on learning in Artisia, and wondered what I might be able to learn Miyoung, also if Junko might be suggesting I could teach people. That was not something I had done much of, except Supisy and flying. That didn’t take much. She is a natural. ”I will work with Miyoung on my plans and how I might help in educational advances,” I confirmed I would be ready to help where I can. I was also glad to hear that Junko didn’t always attend the festivals. ”In time I think that it would be good for people to see me without you, but for now I appreciate having your company as much as possible in such situations.”

She gave a nod ot that and yes being by her side helped a great deal... it was enjoyable but everyone did get to do things on their own eventually... she and Shoma had to learn that lesson... kind of... she had the feeling Shoma avoided her at times to not get the embarassing stories about when he was little recited in front of his friends or crew. He was welcome to tell all of the people who were with her about what she had done... assuming she hadn't already. "Good and eventually, there is nothing wrong with getting yourself comfortable and I know it can be a change to go from traveling to being in a place but the chance to if not settle down than to establish something is important. YOu can have your own base of operations.. a place no one would know you go to if they get upset or just need to get away and recharge yourself."

I was so grateful that Junko seemed to understand my timid nature. It was true that the princess had seen me a little more outgoing, especially if I had a drink or two in me. But, as comfort with Junko grew I was slowly coming out of my shell in her presence. I was still guarded however around most of the others. There was something in Junko’s look that made me think that perhaps I wasn’t the only person she knew who was a little withdrawn in public settings. After her reassurance I surprised myself by leaning towards Junko and kissing her gently on the cheek. ”Thank you for understanding. I’m sure it sounds silly. But walls have protected me in many situations over the years,” I couldn’t help but lean into her for just a bit of support and comfort. I felt a little stupid being so timid and her validation comforted me. I wanted to be in her arms again. But I couldn’t run to that every time I was unsure about my new home. A private workshop would be an excellent escape. And a hangar for me to continue my smuggling endeavors,” At the thought my emotions perked up, though I did not stop leaning into the Princess. ”I hope you don’t mind that I keep my ears on the smuggler chatter. My salary is far above anything I can expect. But I can’t imagine turning a blind eye to my former life so abruptly. And sometimes I like to find a little trouble. I’d rather it not be on your behalf.”

She looked at her and thought about it. "Well it might not be the firs choice but I am not going to control you...just be safe it is a lot of paperwork and convincing to get a fleet to rescue someone." She said it as a joke with a smile on her face... she wouldn't need a fleet to help... there was more than enough firepower and if Latyuo was captured... Supisy would likely have some plan to get the pair of them... cause she couldn't see it being just one of them off doing something... so the pair of them would have some way out. "Plus, there is the chance we are going to be paying you very well for your services... like if it wasn't something that would likely harm you... you could swim in the credit chits."

As Junko replied with less than enthusiasm for my continuing to smuggle outside of Atrisia I could see just a bit of worry on her face. It was comforting to know that someone would care if I got into trouble, but I could handle myself. And I doubt that Supisy would let me “have fun” without her. In the end it was also good to hear that employment within the Commonwealth did not mean that Atrisia was the only life I was allowed to have. In the end as I looked at Junko’s beautiful face I was struck by the idea that it would be an easier transition from smuggler to Atrisian transport coordinator than I was letting on. ”I’m sure there are ways that you could distract me from the smuggling universe outside of Atrisia,” I responded with a bold wink, but also a shy blush. ”I am not going to lie. The thought of finally being financially secure is a relief. But I think I’ll keep my swimming activities to your fantastic lagoon.” Of course if I was to live on my own island I was quite sure that finding a nice spot for a swim would not be an issue, but I was trying to be a bit flirty. I didn’t know if I was getting good at that at all.

"Hmm I am sure I can think of a few things... or more." She said it with a grin on her face. "Well the lagoon is nice and all but there is also the massive pool and ocean... we use hydrostatic filters to secure areas of the water and the shielding filters out dangerous elements while leaving crystal clear waters full of multi colored fish that swim around. All partially experimental... kind of... if we perfect it here imagine it for resort worlds across the galaxy as it keeps out the predators and allows the experience of swimming with aquatic life... a premium experience for some worth plenty." She said it with a shrug and their technologies were going into that and a number of improvements that could be traded and sold to the wider galaxy.
