Taming the Icy Hell (OS Dominion of Vullain)

[5 // 20]
[SURVIVE]

The shock of the creatures was one thing, but the shock of Yun charging to the left and drawing his attention was yet another, in one instant the Vong seemed to be doing okay, rolling under the horrific swipe of the wyrven as its claws tore through icy stalegmites which clung like pillars to the ceiling of the cavern. But in a moment, Yun stopped, shock drawn upon his face as he hesitated enough to take the hit from the nearly twenty meter long lizard... The creature bearing down on its next meal as blood mixed saliva dripped to the floor progressing towards to Yun slowly with predatory fury, one step after another until it would tower over him, its eyes tunnel visioning on its prey...

NOW!

Iziz wasted no time, throwing one foot back as his tail unfurled dramatically, taking his staff from his back holding it diagonally behind himself in a single hand as the Jawa crouched for a moment. The power of the force swirled around him like a typhoon, swirling the snow around him like a mist before he would burst into action, cracking the ground beneath him with the speed of the spirits' lift off, landing before the beast as its jaws would come down for Yun, Spinning a hundred and eighty degrees moments before it would land its bite, Iziz would slam the Bes'kar hilt of the staff directly into the Barioth's eye, hard enough to cause the beast to rear back and flip into a berserk fury. Lashing down bite after bite iziz would burst backwards luring this beast away from its intended meal. Dancing backwards to and fro as the monster lunged with its teeth and claws the beast decided to spin. A high three pronged claw attempted to obliterate Iziz's Upper body followed by a tail which would have followed up with shattering his legs.

Die...

Jumping just high enough to roll over the winged claw, Iziz ejected the lance like blade of his saber-staff, slashing deep into the wing material and leaving a huge gaping hole, ruining its flight and some of its movement as its pivot continued. Letting out his tail as he rolled off the tail of Iziz's opposition collided with his own, sending him up for a moment more and spiraling him into a rapid cork-screw spin. Telekinesis in hand, Iziz would wrap his mind around one of the spinning blades at his side. Launching one forward with his own spin acting as a sling-shot, the sabers would activate and spin rapidly moments before colliding with the exposed chest of the leviathan spawn. The beast would roar in anguish with the blow, looking back to where his opponent should have been, but, he was already gone... it would feel a stinging sensation, something deep and internal shifting as Iziz would walk out from behind the creature, a massive gash along the side of its abdomen and out through the cut in its wing, leading all the way down to its hind legs. That would be one of the monsters down, and leaving the rest to go...

The room of feasting monsters would turn to the entrants who would have felled one of their own. Each of the monsters were between ten to fifteen meters in length, however one of them, seemed considerably larger, his tusks longer, muscles bulkier... Spines running down his back seemed weaponized as its breathing rolled mist across the room. Snikch didn't click to its relevance, but he was looking at the alpha of what seemed to be a pack. A Bull among cows. A solitary male standing within a group of females. After it roared all of the others would roar in turn, pulling away from their meals as the remaining total of five creatures would seek to destroy the invaders, which, only now, seemed to present a threat to their group. Clicking and chattering between them seemed to indicate a form of communication.

The spirit had flexed his power with his speed, but Iziz's body was broken, given him as a proper host and in good condition, he may have been able to simply dispatch them all, but, in this state, unless he wanted to kill himself, he would have to keep his powers to the lower end of things...

"I can't win this alone... ... ... "

Iziz looked at the dead bodies of the soldiers whom had died only to become the target of a feast. Vibroblades, blasters and a few grenades lay scattered across their bodies.

"Take up arms and help Vong.., or else we won't live to see sunlight..."

[ESCAPE TO THE SURFACE]

Yun stood, outwardly he looked fine, if a bit shaken. Inside, the Vong was panicking. The nightmarish delusions were taking their toll, shattering his confidence. He didn't dare move in the moments after he stood, afraid that in an instant, another vision would befoul him. Distraction could mean death, and Yun wouldn't allow that. Luckily for him, the Sith at his side was more than capable of picking up the slack. The Jawa flipped and twirled, performing some intricate dance. Red energy ignited in the Sith's palms and in seconds, the beast let out a pained shriek, tumbling to the floor, leathery wing hanging agape. Yun's eyes followed the Jawa to the ground before he lost sight of Iziz entirely. In a blur, the Sith was behind the creature. A precise incision opened along the wyrven's side, releasing its organs onto the floor before it collapsed entirely.

It was hard to believe anything could be so quick.

Iziz' words pierced the air. The Jawa spoke forcefully, his words dusted with scorn. Yun nodded in the Sith's direction, affirming his understanding. The Vong ducked low and rolled forward, left hand reaching forth to scoop a vibroblade from the corpse of a downed Rebel. He rolled off his shoulder to a sprint, one of the two remaining females watching him with hunger. Yun made a bee line for the opposite end of the cavern but cut himself short half way with a sharp turn. He ran head on towards the charging behemoth and dove to his right, Shaper hand pushing against the ice to propel him further than a normal roll would. The reptile shot past him. Yun's left arm whipped out, vibroblade in tow, lashing at the creature's leg. Halting its stampede and letting out a vicious cry, the wyrven performed a spin, aiming to catch the Vong with the back end of its tail. Acting on instinct, Yun backstepped three times in rapid succession, gaining the required distance to avoid the swing. He turned away, bolting for the wall opposite the beast, the bare bones of a plan forming in his mind.

As predicted, the wyrven charged again. When Yun reached the far wall he stopped, turning again to face his opponent. The horror reared up on its hind legs, opening its jaws and plunging down towards its prey. Spinning the vibroblade, Yun inverted it and thrust backwards into the wall, lodging it there. He stepped upwards, planting his left foot on the handle of the blade, Shaper tendrils reaching heavenward and clutching at spires which hung low from the cavern's ceiling. He lept with all his strength, pulling at the stalactites to aid his momentum. When the creature met its mark, it found nothing but solid frost, its orange tusks ploughing deep into the wall. Immediately it tried to pull back but found itself momentarily rooted to the ice. Yun's body arced high above the hellion, performing a backwards somersault over the thing's head. When he landed, his legs parted either side of the wyrven's neck. He brought his right arm down, tentacles encircling the head of his mount. Two of the digits wound away and drove down into the eyes of the creature. With its head firmly in his grasp, finger spears, hidden in the cornucopia, emerged all at once, the four weapons descending through bone and brain matter. From beneath his sleeve, tiny snakes and lizards crawled the length of the spears, burrowing deep into the skull of the monster and feasting on the visceral soup.

Collapsing to the floor, the dragon let free a dying gasp. Yun rolled backwards and to the right, dismounting his victim and rolling to his feet. With no time to rest between assaults, Yun found himself beset upon by the youngest of the brood. Smaller creatures still too immature for tusks, not much larger than his own reptilian pets he had brought with him, came at him from both sides, the first nipping at his ankle. The Vong spun away, retracting his weapons from the corpse of the fallen mother and lashed out at the closest child with his tendrils, slapping hard into its snout, causing it to whimper in pain. The writhing lattice fanned out in front of Yun's form, the artificial size he was creating causing the other youngling to retreat towards the remaining broodmother.

As long as his mind remained clear, Yun was certain he could overcome even this.

Objective: Ambush a rebel convoy
Post:[1/20]

Cole sat in a tent he had been given for the duration of his stay on the icy planet. In front of Cole there was a map of the terrain resting on a table. The mapped detailed a pathway that was going to carry a rebel convoy, or that at least was what was told to the commanders. The commanders in turn tasked Cole with either destroying it or capturing it and the resources it carried. So now Cole sat in the cold, trying to think of the most efficient strategy for an ambush. It shouldn't be too difficult. These are rebels after all, they shouldn't be trained too greatly. Trained well or not, Cole was not typically a tactician. And he felt nervous to a slight degree in making such plans. Cole kept hunched over the map until the flap of his tent was pushed open by one of his grunts. "The order's come down, my lord. We're meant to leave to prepare the ambush now." Cole sighed as he stood himself to his feet, keeping his glance down on the map. "Alright, have the team ready themselves for the trip." The soldier nodded his head and stepped outside. The Sith Acolyte switched out his standard gear and cloak for a set that more accurately hid him in the icy wasteland that was Vullain. He snatched the map up from the table and folded it, placing it in one of his pockets afterwards. Cole ensured he had all of the equipment he required one last time before stepping out of his tent.

Cole met with his team one more time outside before they left to set themselves up. They all mounted up on their LC-S10 speeders and began to ride to the ambush point. Upon their arrival, Cole would remove the map from his chest pouch and study it one last time before making a final decision. "Okay, we'll have to set up some sort of blockage down the pathway." Cole raised his right arm to point a small ways ahead of his team. "I think our best bet is to have two of us standing with the blockage, otherwise they'll likely pass it by. Make it look like you need help. Let's get to it." With his command, his grunts began to create the scene. They used two of the speeders to simulate the blockage, and hid the rest from view. Two of the privates waited by the wreckage while the others waited off out of view. Cole got down onto his stomach, and anticipated the upcoming action.

More than anything else, he resembled a body excavated from a mudslide, but the moonlight softened the gauntness of his features, she noticed, and his deep-set eyes gave him an air of intrigue.

"Look," he continued, "You need me. I know what the doctor was up to. You stand a better chance of stopping her with me !han without me."

She removed the ring from her ponytail and shook her hair, sending a fine film of dirt into the night air. "Just tell me what she was up to, and I'll put in a good word for you - if it's the truth."

"That'll take too long. She could be escaping right this moment. In my ship," he added, bitterly.

She poinited. "That way. Follow me." She set off on a brisk run and the man, after a moment, set off after her, stifling a groan.

Objective: A Silent Kill.
Location: Victim’s apartment

"Rewarded?"

"Yes indeed, he knows your valour and your strength, but he required a test"

"A test?"

Darth Ophidia's eye twitched with annoyance, but she held her anger at bay and maintained a friendly front.

"You cannot have regrets if you are to be a great and powerful Sith Lord, my dear. Regrets lead to fear, fear is the mind-killer. Never fear."

She felt his muscles tense beneath the layers of quivering fat. Her fingers turned his face up to hers while her black left hand pushed his hair behind his ear. Her grey irises pierced into his dull brown ones. Like a serpent injecting venom, she inserted a thought in the manchild's mind. The Dark Lord would require one more feat of bravery.

"I need you to do one more thing, and then he will come to you himself. Just one more feat of bravery, my love."

The already dulled eyes grew further clouded as a smile spread over his lips. Ophidia craned her head away in hidden disgust as the boy tried to kiss her.

"Ah-ah! Not yet, love."

Disappointment, but a spark of hope, was evident among the scruffy jowls. She shifted out of the bed, her feet frolicked in the sanguine pool on the floor as she corrected the robe and strode to the balcony.

"Come."

[FIGHT // WIN!]

Iziz watched for a non dull moment holding his saber pike like a lance at his side with one hand, two of the mothers began to walk for him before picking up speed, the bull was not ready to strike yet, the spirit within Iziz was paying him some special attention, he was trying to analyze them, he was trying to see what they could do, he was trying to weaken them with the pack before he could deliver the killing blow. The cow Wyrvens would happily lay down their life for the Alpha, and they would. Snapping, the first of the two which lunged for Iziz did so with a terrifying leap, its hind legs kicking itself into the air as its wings folded out, allowing it to glide momentarily in the Icy cavern with the intent of coming down hard on the Jawa, each of its front claws outstretched for him, hoping to crush him into a paste in an single instant. Unlike before, using maximum speed was no longer an available tactic, with the state of his hosts body, there was not a shadow of doubt that speed would break him into pieces if extended...

'You never make it easy for me runt...'

The specter thought openly, darting forward as the monster came down on him, maw gaping wide as its long dagger-like teeth and claws came at the Jawa like the beasts of hell itself. AS the beast came down Iziz dove under its wing and under-shot the creature only to find the other was already there, neck out-stretched and biting in for the Jawa with its powerful neck muscles while the other crashed into the ice, its claws ripping into the sleet to break and turn itself back around. Jumping from his roll Iziz lunged over the second one, tucking his form in and spinning over-top of the monster like a whirl-wind before he landed on the ground. Lightning crackled at the jawa's fingertips, but not in the same way as other sith often used the power...

Iziz let out a shout as the lightning coiled down his spear in a brilliant lightning lance, enhancing the power of his light-saber with a veritable aura of lightning pluming off it violently and striking the area around it. Lunging forward with one strike after another aimed for its back, the lizard turned, seeing the bright light it pivoted on its front legs, sliding on the ice away from the bright light. Missing the jawa routed the momentum to spinning the weapon above his head and bringing it down with a diagonal slash. Though the strike was nowhere near within the range to land, the lightning from the weapon left its surface in an arc, crashing into the second of the lizards and shocking it badly enough for it to let out such a horrific scream, it shook the nature of the room, rattling the ice hanging from the ceiling. Though the beast was stunned for the moment, its sister was not.

'Tenacious, aren't they?'

The Jawa mused, gritting his teeth as the other charged at full speed smashing through everything in its wake in an attempt to trample the Jawa. Waiting for the opportune moment Iziz jumped high, almost as if expecting it the beast reared up in a crocodile like leap to snatch the Jawa from the air. Flipping forward Iziz struck down with his light-saber, scorching a line across its face and causing its teeth to snap shut pre-maturely, allowing him to land on its back and stabilize himself... only for a moment, as his mount began to thrash wildly, running around the room and attempting to roll as Iziz jumped and swayed, trying to keep his balance for the mean time... Biding his time for what he was waiting for, holding out a hand to the back of the beast...

NOW!

Telekinesis rushed from his hand as the Lizard trampled over stalagmite formations, pushing it down into the earth hard enough to cause its legs to buckle and collapse, pinning it onto the upward facing spikes which drove up into its stomach and upper chest. thrown from it at the sudden stop, the specter guiding iziz flipped and landed on his feet, skidding a tad across the ground and watching the last of his prey shrug off his stunning volts, its dead sister spied, anger welling up within it as it let out a feral screech, loud enough to cause pain to the eardrums of everything in the room... The roar was a declaration of war. Spinning three hundred and sixty degrees, using its tail to smash any of the spikes near itself, it sent the sharpened rubble scattering like a shot-gun blast around the room in a deadly hail. Taking a step forward into running, iziz would extend the second blade on his staff, jumping leaping and rolling through the storm of icicles thrust in his direction as his opponent took a second swipe with its tail, followed by a web of claws and teeth.

Iziz narrowly avoiding each of the berserk strikes as the creature became more and more desperate, swiping faster and faster and pushing Iziz back on the defensive. Hate could be felt emiminating from the mother's mind, unmistakable and unquenchable hate for the intruders as it threw itself at her intended prey with everything she had in such a manner even the former sith Lord was having a problem trying to keep up with its strikes. It was larger, stronger, and had gathered more rage than most sith could dream of to enhance their powers. In a suprising twist, with one of its swiped it beat one its wings, throwing Iziz back and striking him into the wall of the cavern. The ice he impacted with splintered, leaving a smear of blood on the wall where he had landed... Snikch looked up with a fearsome glint in his eyes. Forcing his body to inhale and using the force once again to re-place his broken ribs from the blow. But in a frightful charge the mother wyrven was upon him once again, sweeping to a side and striking out with her tail to end him once and for all.

A roar exited the Jawa's mouth as he burst into action, rolling over the tail and leaving the blade of his pike in its place, severing the tail entirely as he would use that chance to strike deep into the dragon's side with the other end of his double ended blade. Recoiling, Iziz would target its exposed hind leg, darting in and severing it, forcing the creature to collapse to that side. Piece by piece the Jawa's vengeance and spite had him target another limb of the dragon. Sinking his blade into the ground and bringing it up with an uppercut he would meet the falling dragon's right arm, and tearing through its wing to soar high above it, before finally coming down with a stab to its neck, allowing it to slowly die from a single puncture wound, gurgling on its welded closed throat.

"Two down..."

The Jawa ended, looking to the others, and awaiting the move of the bull... Seeing how Yuns opponents faired.

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
Post=13/20

As they ran, Timoris regarded the night sky. An occasional flash of light pierced the black, followed by a trail of smoke and a fearsome shriek as a sizable object embedded itself in the planet's surface.

"Asteroids," said the man."That's one reason so many of the natives around here live deep in the catacombs."

"What's that glow on the horizon?”

“Deadly radiation storms. They can be more or less predicted, but if you see one coming at you, dive for cover."

"Into a catacomb?”

"Nice place, isn't it?" commented the man, dryly.

Minutes later, the lab came in sight as they topped a dune. "I wish we had the time to get fresh clothes," she said, "I'm squirting dust from every pore."

[BOSS FIGHT]

Whipping around, Shaper tendrils cascaded into the face of the final female as it snapped with its jaws for the Vong. The beast flinched backwards and jerked its head back to face Yun, a sinister growl escaping its teeth. The creature rushed him, swiping in turn with its claws and lashing its tusks in the direction of its prey. Yun hopped quickly backwards, weight shifting from leg to leg as he jumped, propelling himself away from the behemoth while sending his body side to side as well. Avoiding the strikes and certain death for the moment, Yun found his back pressed against the wall of the cavern. With nowhere left to dart back to, the wyrven ducked its head low and let free a swipe with its left claw. Nowhere behind him, Yun pushed off the wall and rolled into the strike, finding momentary solace in the nook between the creature's claw and body. He stood and rolled again, making a swift exodus from the beast's underbelly just in time to avoid the deadly tusks which swept backwards, the very same move he failed to avoid the first time.

Yun scanned the room quickly, noting the location of a pair of Rebel carcasses some meters to the left. With the brood-mother hot on his tail, Yun dove forward, rolling into the bloody stew and standing, dragging a second Vibroblade from the first corpse, Shaper tendrils lurching down and scooping up the discarded blaster rifle of the second Rebel. Yun veered around, Rifle clutched firmly between two of his tentacles and discharged three shots, aiming as best he could for the creature's face. In its stampede, two of the three shots collided with the wyrven's shoulders, the third partially meeting its mark, scorching a wound in the thing's upper lip. Moving quickly, the Vong dashed to the right to avoid the imminent trample and swung the Vibroblade towards the exposed hide behind the front left leg of his opposition. The blade sunk deep and Yun brought his right arm down, still clutching the blaster in two of the tentacles, the remaining digits coiled around his arm and hand, assisting him in dragging the blade as far as he could through the thick scales and fur. When the blade released, the breaking tension caused Yun too topple forward, rolling into the ice and snow.

When he stood he turned to look at his work. The creature's side flapped open, spilling torrents of blood onto the ice. Though it was not dead, the pain had the beast on the back foot, long neck careening around to inspect itself and lap at its side like a wounded hound. Yun's eyes narrowed and he took off towards the distracted creature as fast as he could. With his left arm still reinforced by the strength of his Shaper hand, Yun rose his blade high above his head, arcing it down with all his strength he met the behemoth's vulnerable neck and cut deep. His right leg rose and planted firmly beside the sword wound, giving him leverage to pull the blade free and strike again. The beast gargled, stunned as Yun let loose blow after blow into the neckline. When the Vong turned away from the twitching remains, he left the blade lodged there and wiped his left palm across his eyes, clearing his face of gore.

With no time to react, another occurrence rocked the cavern's walls. His head spun to the source of the disturbance, lightning discharging from his ally's weapon, piercing the momentary calm and colliding with one of the Sith's twin opponents. In reaction, the scorched creature bellowed loudly, the roar causing Yun to flinch and clutch at his ears, eye instinctively shutting. To his left he felt a crash and his eyes opened wide at the fallen stalactite. The vibrations from the beast's clamor were shaking free rubble from the ceiling. Yun jumped forward, narrowly avoiding a small boulder of ice and looked up. A few quick steps were all Yun needed to avoid the oncoming barrage. Forward, left, left, forward and finally Yun stopped and took a miniature hop backwards, avoiding the final plunging spear which threatened to end him.

In the far end of the cavern, the Alpha was beginning to make his move. With Yun the closest prey, the bull wyrven set forth, charging for its prey. The monster's eyes locked hungrily onto the Vong's form and it lunged forward, hopping into the air for Yun. The male, in spite of its significant size advantage over the mothers, was faster still. Surprising Yun with its quickness, the Vong dodged the only way he could, by throwing his body backwards as far as possible. With no time to plan a landing, Yun's shoulders slid across the ice and he rose his legs into the air, flipping them over his body and rolling backwards, stumbling to his feet. The Alpha shrieked fearsomly, wasting no time before charging the Vong again, thundering down on him with a string of swift blows. Yun scampered from side to side but the male's quickness bested him, claws ripped away at layer after layer of Yun's clothing, tearing away fur and leather, claws beginning to scratch at the surface of his skin. Yun rolled forward once, pushing off with his left shoulder into a sprint away from the beast's left side at an angle. He turned, running backwards, and fired a volley of blaster bolts from the rifle in his Shaper hand, holding down the trigger and steadying the firearm as best he could. The bombardment peppered across the back of the behemoth's wing and it turned swiftly to face him, shaking its fur and scales.

In a flash, the Alpha's front legs rose and it began to beat its wings. With two flaps, the thing was airborne, hovering several meters from the icy surface. Its head reared back and Yun heard a visceral howling deep behind the beast's tusks. With its attack readied, the dragon spat its payload towards the Vong. A ball of compressed air shot forth like a lance, colliding with the ground a meter in front of Yun. The air expanded rapidly, frigid winds expanding in circular torrents. The explosive force was enough to easily lift the Vong from his feet, the razor sharp gale slicing at his skin and clothing and sending him hurtling towards the other end of the cavern. Yun's body hit hard, rolling over and over until he came to a grinding halt, a trail of blood leading from the floor to his wounded body. His left hand clenched hard, digging deep trenches with his fingers, and he stood. His knees shook but survival was paramount. Yun turned his gaze to the surroundings, spying his ally immediately and he took off towards Iziz.

Division to conquer was a fine tactic for the Beta wyrven's, but the master of this nest would be no easy kill. When Yun reached the Jawa he let out a long sigh and tried to catch his breath. Whatever the Sith was channeling, Yun could feel that the power it wielded was far greater than anything he had left.

For the second time now, his life was entirely in the hands of another.

Objective: Ambush a rebel convoy
Post:[2/20]

Cole continued to lay on his stomach in wait of the rebels. He had his squad of eight in their positions; two waiting near the wreckage, three with him and three on the other side of the road. Cole glanced over at his men waiting at the block, then decided to watch again in the direction the convoy was meant to come from. Thinking he saw movement on the horizon, Cole reached into his gear to withdraw some binoculars. Bringing them to his eyes, he looked at the black spot far off. Sure enough, there were four vehicles travelling in their direction. This had better be the convoy. Hiding these larger vehicles from sight will be a great deal more aggravating. Cole first turned to the three soldiers with him, "Vehicles incoming. They had best be the convoy, because I am not wasting my time with meaningless civilians." The soldiers acknowledged his information and signaled the rest of the team.

In due time, the vehicles grew closer and closer to Cole and his men. Cole had become quite sure that it was the convoy they were searching for, as the first and last vehicle seemed to be created for military use while the middle two were obviously carrying supplies. Much to Cole's relief, the four rebel vehicles seemed to be coming to a stop in front of his men. "Remember, work on disabling the rear vehicle..." Cole muttered quietly to his three men. The Sith Acolyte watched his disguised military personnel wave at the rebels as they came to a complete stop. The passenger of the first vehicle stepped out and cautiously approached his unknown enemies. Suddenly, Cole stood to his feet and watched his men follow. They immediately began to fire on the rear vehicle, while the soldiers on the other side of the convoy started on the front. Deal with the two vehicles with the rebels' military in them. Good idea, I suppose. But if the rear vehicle is able to escape, I'm holding those other three accountable. Cole pulled his lightsaber from his waist, and ignited it as he began his descent towards the rebels. He watched the passengers of the transport vehicles disembark and begin to take aim at his men behind him. That was until they had noticed the Sith charging directly towards them. It was, however, too late for one of the soldiers. Cole raised his saber as he closed the distance and cut from shoulder to hip, slicing a hand off in the process. Satisfied with the injury he caused, he turned to the other passenger. Cole could see the fear on his face, yet he still fired. Cole watched the red shot fly high and over his head. Cole began to move closer when the next shot flew off with a trajectory heading straight for his abdomen. Much to Cole's surprise, he brought the saber up quick enough to deflect the shot. Distracted by his own pride, he hadn't noticed the next shot the rebel had fired off. Unable to react, the red blaster shot scraped against Cole's mask and left a decent sized hole in his hood. Cole flinched back when he noticed what had happened, and with a newly renewed anger he let out a deep throated growl. He leapt forward, and aiming for the man's neck, let loose a hatred filled swing of his lightsaber.

Still filled with anger and hatred, Cole looked up from the corpse of the man he just slayed to check the front vehicle. There were numerous bodies on the ground, so Cole turned away and began to walk for the rear vehicle. Upon resting his eyes on the vehicle itself, he noticed how damaged it appeared to be. He assumed there was no way for it to escape at this point. Afterwards, he noticed a group of his men with their weapons pointing at three rebels with their knees in the icy ground. Cole marched up to the three men with his lightsaber still in his hands and began to speak, "Prisoners? Are you fools too afraid to die?" With that, Cole brought his lightsaber high up and swung it down on the prisoner to the far left, cutting straight down the man's chest. He fell over instantly, clearly deceased. But what of the rebel I maimed? Cole turned back to the way he came, and he saw the man had pushed himself up and was leaning against the vehicle he had jumped out of. His blaster was still in the position it had fallen. The rebel was no real threat, but Cole figured taking back three prisoners was one too many. He made quick worked of the maimed man and returned to the rear vehicle. He counted six of his soldiers. "Where are the other two of you?" Cole asked, no, demanded. He noticed one of the corporals speak up. "Private Luck- Well, the two privates you sent to the blockage were killed, my lord. They were the first that the rebels focused their fire on." The corporal had tried to use their names, but it was no use. Cole did not know their names and did not want to know. As quickly as these soldiers were replaced, there was no use in growing any attachments. Two casualties is an acceptable amount. We'll have to destroy their speeders, but oh well. Cole began to bark orders, "Two of you need to destroy the speeders we need to leave behind. The rest of you prep these transport vehicles and anything else we're taking back to the base." He pointed at the two prisoners. "And don't let them out of your sight. I have a use for them yet." With that, he watched the soldiers follow his order, and readied himself for the trip back to his cold tent.

[FIGHT // WIN!]

Iziz would watch the last instance of his allies' fight with the alpha, looking around for a means to help before spying it on the belt of one of the rebels whom had scattered in the room. The beast his companion had felled was a monster to be sure, but nothing the two of them had fought so far rivaled the alpha which was now split between them, a creature which would be able to give the strongest terentatek a run for its money and even come out victorious with its speed and ability to fly. The cavern they were locked in however, would be its downfall, it was only able to hover here, as high as the roof was, it did not give the beast the freedom of high speed flight that it was likely used to. The alpha displayed a peculiar power, breathing in it projected a sort of high pressure air from its lungs, digging a trench in the earth at Yun's feet, something which Iziz would have to remember, not wanting to be the prey on the end of that particular strike...

Time to move Iziz

As Yun fled for Iziz, iziz charged his prey, as they would cross part way with each other, the metallic tail which had been wrapped around his waist would unfurl, it was time to use his full potential in this conflict, holding back a weapon for the sake of secrecy at this point was foolhardy and only served to place the two of them in further unesesary risk. The Phrikite metallic tail unwound, tracing almost a meter behind him as the clawed tip erupted in a brilliant beam of light, not any particular colour but more of a shimmering white, gold traces from the heat glimmering off of its intensity as Iziz could begin to feel the entechment engine nipping into the Sith's life-force. The feeling was painful, but a reminder of the cost of power. With the tail revealed Iziz bent down lower to the ground, crouching lower to balance himself, but over-all looked far more comfortable in this state as he charged across the battle-field darting past the bodies of the republic men as the wyrven hovered in the sky with beats of its mighty wings.

Spying the Jawa moving towards him now, it inhaled, firing bolt after bolt of its pressure cannon with every exhale, pushing from his hind legs, Iziz would bound like an animal, lunging diagonally to the left and the right, narrowly avoiding each of the explosions which sent shrapnel from the ice into his sides with every narrow evasion. The Jawa left a light trail of his own blood in his wake as he came to his target, a single beat of its massive wings knocking him off of his feet, unable to grip the slick ground any longer and forcing the Sith Knight to be thrusted back with great force. Only barely able to wrap its tail around a frozen boulder and spinning himself behind if fot cover, as the next of the Alpha's Wind pulses shattered the permafrost like a crystal glass....

Iziz fled to the side, he needed a distraction for his plan to work, the creature being focused on him was too much for him to handle, he needed Yun, and with Yun he would be able to become the architect of this monster's downfall. but it wasn't going to be pretty and it was going to be dangerous.

"Yun! Grab it's attention, I need some time!"

The Alpha from it pearch took a single wing-beat forward and with its lunge rose higher into the sky, only to not follow the motion up with its wings, plummeting toward the earth near Iziz, talons out-stretched like a hawk Iziz barely made it out of the way, launched and using his tail to route his momentum in the air to land on the ground, light-saber digging into the earth to slow him down before it slammed him into the wall... Panting, using his own planted staff as a vault, Iziz pushed off it as yet another of the oxygen lances obliterated the wall directly behind where he stood but moments before were it not for himself pushing hard off of his own light-saber. The Reptile was not letting up, all of its focus seemed to be on the closest enemy, the one who it deemed posed the most threat to it at the time. Taking another couple of wing beats it lifted off the ground again, taking to the low hanging skies where it knew it held the advantage, raining bolts down on the Jawa, each shot getting closer and closer to hitting its mark inch by inch as its aim improved.

It was like it knew he had a plan...

The alpha liked to fly, it was its core advantage while the Females liked to remain on the ground, likely to better swarm a meal and not be in each other's way. A chilling tactic, the alpha, with all of its strength, knew that keeping its distance if it could was always the better option. Never had a wild beast made the Jawa feel so challenged, not the Krayt of Tatooine, nor the terentatek of Tython's moon.

This,

was a new breed of predator...

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
[Post=14/20]

"To me," replied the man, "You look and smell like an angel."

"A smooth talker, too. You smugglers always are."

"I didn't set out to be a smuggler-"

"I know all the stories. Did you come from a broken home, are you a rebel against an unjust system, or are you earning the fee to buy your sister out of slavery?"

"Actually," he said, "I was a graduate student in Xenoarchaeoiogy. But when the University went bankrupt, it took my academic career with it. From Xenoarchaeology to smuggling is a more direct route than you might think."

"Especially if you cut Ethics class."

They were in the main lab's shadow now. Although the main hatch was open, the place was dark. From either side of the doorway, Timoris saw various trickles of light from consoles, but no motion. Reaching out with the Force, she felt no life inside, but she wouldn't have cared to bet hers on that assumption.

[BOSS FIGHT]

Making a break for combat, Iziz was wasting no time. The Vong took a second to breathe and began to sprint opposite to the arc the Jawa had taken. Yun's body ached all over, each new struggle taking its toll on the Shaper. Whatever the Sith hoped to do with this world, Yun hoped it was worth all the trouble. With precious few creatures remaining, the Vong was beginning to feel he had less and less to contribute to the pair's survival. In the future, he needed something more, a creature strong enough to consistently fight at his side and one he couldn't lose. He stopped suddenly and whirled around, unleashing a slew of blaster bolts in the direction of the Alpha, each red projectile met with thick fur and scales, not enough pain registering to draw the beast's attention away from its miniature prey.

Even before Iziz spoke, Yun could tell he was having trouble. His mind raced for a way to distract the Alpha in time for the Jawa to execute whatever plan he had. With the bare bones of a plan in mind, the Vong aimed lower, popping off a series of shots for a boulder nestled in the floor from the earlier ceiling collapse. The bolts did little more than dent the solid ice but Yun took off running for the rubble. He jumped, right foot extending towards the side of the ice and plunging into a dent to give him a foot hold. He vaulted upwards to perch on top of the ice and transfixed his gaze on the hovering behemoth. With a single leap, Yun arced high across the cavern, digits of his Shaper hand hyper extending to clutch at his mark. Though Yun couldn't produce enough height to mount the Alpha right away, his reach was far enough that he managed to grip firmly onto the outside of the creature's wing. When he connected, he swung forward, the weight causing the thing to twist its eyes at this new threat. Yun brought his legs up as he swung, planting two feet securely against its underbelly and pushing off with all his might. The resulting swung sent Yun backwards around the lip of its wing, lurching him high enough for his body to come down squarely in the middle of the Alpha's back.

Taking its attention from the Jawa, the beast spun its neck backwards and let out a series of swift chomps. Unable to utilize its pressure cannon at such close proximity, the Alpha had little recourse but to thrust with its tusks at the invasive rider. Tendrils wrapped around the back of the creature, allowing Yun to pivot from side to side, avoiding the string of blows. Getting desperate, the Alpha heaved its wings violently, bucking and spinning in the air in an attempt to rid itself of Yun's weight. With opportunity baring down on him , Yun wasted no time in taking his chance. He unfurled his Shaper hand, allowing himself to fall to the thing's right side. When he left his mount, tentacles shot up for the side of the thrashing wingspan, finger spears extending immediately to pierce the leathery flesh and assist him holding in place. When the Vong got his hold, the wyrven beat down with its wings and Yun began to pull himself up, putting more of his weight on the wing. With its center of balance destabilized, the pair began a turbulent descent.

Yun did his best to roll away from the tumbling creature, swinging under it and jumping away with all his momentum. Though a fall from such a modest height would serve to inflict little damage, the Shaper hoped it could give Iziz the time he needed. Yun cleared several meters and rolled to his knees, spinning around to face the clamor ensuing behind him. The wyrven plummeted to the ice, tucking its right wing under its body and rolling into the far wall. For a second, it whipped and convulsed before righting itself to a standing position, all attention focused on the figure that had taken it from its flight. The Alpha inhaled sharply, turning its head to Yun's left and exhaling. The pressure cannon emitted again but this time through gritted teeth, focusing the burst considerably into a potent cutting beam. Yun rolled low, ducking beneath the onslaught and pushed himself up with both arms just in time to appreciate the creature's swiftness. Within seconds Yun found himself with nearly no space to move. Claws latched mightily into the ice on either side of his shoulders and the monster's maw descended, threatening to swallow the Vong whole.

Shaper hand rising, Yun pushed against the beast's face with all his strength, tendrils coiling around its tusks and jabbing for its eyes. He could feel his arm buckling, bones stressed to their limits and about to break. Before his demise, one of his digits found home, plunging deep into the eye socket of the Alpha, bursting its eye and causing it to recoil in shock. Unraveling, Yun pushed himself back against the ice, the slippery surface aiding in his backslide. He rose his right arm across his chest, cradling it close and groaning through gritted teeth. If his ally was smart, he would realize his time was now. Yun's resolve was fading fast, his stamina at an all time low. If they couldn't fell this creature now, all hope was lost.

[FIGHT // WIN!]

Iziz had a plan in mind, gripping at the fourth and final of the thermal detonators which he and Yun had used to fell the beings above them, he intended to completely vaporize the creature with a weapon more than able to melt the room. Together they would easily be able to outrun the cavern's cave in, and allow the lumbering creature to be buried here with the corpses of its allies... However, on inspecting the firing trigger, it had been shattered from the fall from on high, as well as much of the Jawa's body. Short of having a work bench and fifteen minutes to fix the trigger, there was nothing that the weapon was able to do, so, instead, the Jawa needed to think, Yun was distracting the creature now, and that was enough, jumping from a wall to latch onto the beast as he rode it around the room, a feat of bravery that spirit had not expected from the Vong Shaper, as many of his kind that he had known of were more than self preservationists.

This Vong is different.

Not going to look a gift Bantha in the maw, Iziz searched the room for a replacement, finding a soldier of the republic military, taking his ammunition bandolier and the grenades on it, he began to create a quick and nasty device, ripping the harness into as many components as he could and tying three of them together, he created what could be considered a rope to some standards. Three pronged much like that of a bolas, something that he was rather used to wielding and with the force, it would be almost no issue... The plan was no longer to utterly destroy the monster, but if they were even able to immobilize it for a moment, the two of them would be able to deliver the finishing blow beyond a shadow of a doubt. Tying a grenade from the looted soldier's corpses to the ends of each of the three ropes by the pins, Iziz would have the weapon he needed, having taken no more than fifteen seconds in addition to a little thinking time.

Looking across, Iziz dove from the pressure laser which seemed to rend a fissure in the ground they stood upon, tearing it open and leaving a gaping wound in the frost bitten earth... Iziz would not be sad to see this monster dead with its brood. Gripping the weapon by the middle, Iziz flowed the potent power of the force through it, spinning it around his own head before throwing it telekinetically with all of his might for above the dragon to an opposite side of where Yun lay pinned underneath it. The grenade bolas flew, but not to coil around the wings of the dragonoid, the ropes were nowhere near long enough to be able to entangle a creature of its size and power... no, they were merely to control the distance of the grenades...

Timed in unison, Iziz hovered the grenades at the roof above the dragon, splaying his hands and fanning out the grenades to the widest distance they could possibly be from each other before they detonated. A blast which slammed into the back of the beast, hard enough to cause it to lurch and arch in pain as the burning heat sizzled its scales and removed the hair from its body... But the grenades did nothing, nothing to stop the monster, nothing but bring its focus back to Iziz whom still had his hand raised out for where the grenades had exploded, like he had posed for an image and refused to break his concentration, hoping that something would happen... The monster would let out a low, gutteral growl, before taking in a deep breath, priming itself for what was to come next, another laser, poised and readt to cut the Jawa in two. But...

A familiar, haunting, deafening crack rang aloud at the top of the cavern.

The sleet roof was one solid perfect piece, something which no-one would have been able to do anything with. But the shock of the three grenades had made three small craters in the roof in the shape of a triangle, and, between them created hairline cracks through the ice for meters and meters around, as well as deep... which to a telekinetic, was something they were able to grip onto. Uniting the three small craters a much larger crack would unite them and emerge as the Jawa would fall to one knee and slam his hand to the ground. Simultaneously to his action, as if on command, the dozen tonne boulder from the roof would tear free and slam down hard on the dragon's wing opposite to Yun, crushing it and pinning it underneath its collossal weight, shattering every bone in the wyrven's wing and hind leg. There was no sound which was able to describe the cry of surprise, fury and pain the creature let loose.

But it was time to get even.

Iziz would pool his control and mastery of the force back onto himself, enhancing his movements as he would jet forward for the beast, fast enough that its eyes would set back on him as he reached biting range. Taking a lunge with the only thing available to itself, Iziz would side-step its head and jump onto its back with a downward thrust, finally still and not shaking he was stable enough to drive his lightsaber deep into its toreso, splitting organs and vital materials with the full length of his lance like pole-arm... However, wounded it may have been, its tail struck up in a flurry, catching Iziz by the side and sending him plummeting to the earth, skidding across the ground as the weakened, wounded beast thrashed for everything it could within range, without focus, and without mercy.

The battle may well have come to its head...

Iziz attempted to pull himself from the ice, panting heavily, his body not meant for this, surviving only due to his connection with the force...

"Oh... He's going to have a headache after this..."

The specter breathed... A chuckle in his voice as he did so.

[TRIUMPH, ENDURE]

Heavy footfalls pounded rhythmically, boots plowing into fresh snow. The Rebel held her gun close and thought of home, anything to distract her from the cold. The Sith occupation of Vullain drew rebellion from all walks of life. Meena Cava, the pilot of a modest shipping freighter, offered up her skills to the cause, intending to maintain machinery and plot supply routes between camps. Instead, she found herself here, marching shoulder to shoulder with a squad of sullen gentlemen, searching in the iridescent white plain after reports of survivors. Though stationed several miles away, seismic scans of the area were off the charts, reporting cave-ins and tectonic shifts miles beneath the ice world's surface. The task was handed down for available personnel to gather their things and investigate.

Though the largest sinkhole was filling rapidly with snow, the scar on the earth marring what remained of the Rebel base that stood there. Within minutes, the search party deduced there were no survivors on the surface, but miles below, faint distress beacons begged frantically to be heard. Meena crouched low to the ground, gloved hands sifting through the evening snowfall.

"Men!" Meena twisted to the sound of the commander's voice, a real soldier, and stood. One by one the squad filed over to their superior's position, each wordlessly understanding his exclamation when they arrived. The Commander stood at the mouth of a cave, white ice practically invisible against the snowy landscape. Beyond the lip of the cave, the descent was immediately obvious, it lead down below the earth. It made sense after all, beasts often made their homes beneath the surface and caregivers frequently surfaced to scavenge.

By the time Meena crested the small ridge to behold the cave, the ground shook. The mouth of the cave rumbled hungrily, churning and emitting the sound of explosions. Though muffled by hundreds of meters of travel, the smooth walls of the ice cavern carried the distant clatter to the surface. An animal couldn't make that sound, which meant only one thing.

"There must be survivors down there," Meena whispered to herself.

"If there's men down there using explosives, they could be in danger." Once again the Commander's voice resonated through the squad, his assertive demeanor immediately steeling his soldiers' resolve.

_

As the Vong prepared himself for another bout, salvation came in the form of Iziz' plan. Splitting his attention, Yun watched as Iziz tossed a device high above the Alpha and parted his hands. On cue, the explosion went off. Sparks ignited, spreading outwards to a wide inferno which engulfed much of the cavern's roof. Following the brilliant flash of light, came the boom. Explosives detonated, searing outward, scorching across the Alpha's back and wings. The force knocked the wyrven to the ground with a loud thump, its legacy leaving behind large abstract wounds in the ice above the fallen predator.

Ever the observer, Yun watched on as Iziz appeared to pull tightly, stringing taut the bonds of the Force and dislodging a section of the roof. Tonnes of ice rained onto the wounded behemoth, each boulder eliciting the heinous crack of bones. The Alpha roared loudly, blood spraying from its mouth as it found organs burst and veins ruptured. In that moment, Yun shifted his attention entirely to Iziz. The Sith seemed powerful beyond measure. From a position of ignorance, both of the Force and of the Galaxy, Yun couldn't imagine the ability to wield such strength with his mind alone. The Sith wasted no time in closing the gap towards his prey, slipping past its desperate jaws and eviscerating the creature with a single, long stroke of his saber.

Following suit, the Vong barreled towards the Alpha and came to the wound on its stomach. Death was certain for the predator. Pinned and gutted, the creature would be dead soon with or without Yun's interference, but a part of the Shaper longed for hands on retribution. To that end, tendrils reached forth into the gaping bowels, wrapping themselves tightly around organs and bone and tugging violently at the thing's innards. The Vong's grisly salvage was met with an outpouring of gore. Slowly, Yun released the organs from his grip, watching the length of the behemoth as its body went limp, twitching periodically with the final throes of death. He stepped back from the corpse, turning calmly to Iziz and looked down at the Jawa.

"I owe you my life,"

For the first time in months, Yun felt he belonged here. Twice now, his life had been spared thanks to unlikely Sith companions. The displays of intelligence, power and cunning exhibited by both of his saviors resonated with the Vong. Each service cemented his place amidst the Empire. Unknowingly, both interactions tugged vehemently at the threads of fate, forging Yun a path forward. Whatever he was before, Yun was beginning to identify himself as Sith.

Iziz would likely sense the presence of a search party long before Yun became aware of it. Reflections of white light caught the Shaper's eye and he peered to the far end of the room, opposite where they had originally entered from. Behind a nest, the back wall opened wide. Slick ice served to reflect the beams of flashlights at great lengths, creating a miasma of dancing wisps at the gaping exit to the surface. As the party drew closer, faint echoes of footsteps and voices hovered gently into the cavern. Looking at the Jawa, Yun spoke.

"One last trial, and our work will be done,"

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
[Post=15/20]

After several seconds, however, Timoris lifted a few pebbles with the Force and flung them inside. The stones bounced off the floor with a clatter, but caused no other commotion. "I think it's safe," she said, sidling inside. "She wasn't expecting us to return. An empty lab doesn't necessarily indicate trouble. A booby-trapped lab does."

"Beauty before age," said the man.

Timoris ran to the comm board and quickly called the nearest One Sith flagship. "They report no attempts to run the blockade," she said, minutes later. "The doctor must still be planetside."

"That's something. I was worried sick she'd get herself blown up."

"I didn't think you were that concerned about her."

"I'm not – but she could get my ship blown up with her."

"You won't have any need for a ship where you're going."

He had no comeback to that.

Activating the main display, Timoris quickly picked out the technology reading the doctor had shown to her earlier. "There she is."

Objective: Pull information from the rebels
Post:[3/20]

The trip back to the camp was the same as the trip to the ambush site: cold. It hadn't changed and Cole didn't assume it would change any time soon. Cole sat in the passenger seat of one of the cargo transport vehicles, which was being driven by one of the One Sith soldiers. In front of Cole was the other transport, which was being led by one of the speeders. One of the soldiers was sitting in the back of the transport to watch the prisoners and ensure they do not escape. Cole did not put all of his trust in this one soldier, who he did not even know, and kept an eye on the back as well.

The trip continued on, and much to Cole's surprise, the prisoners did not attempt to escape. Seemingly pleased, he hopped out of the transport as it was coming to a stop. The Acolyte strolled towards the back of the other transport and stuck his head in. Grinning under his mask, he spoke softly, "If you would please take the prisoners to my tent, I will be there shortly." The soldier had his response and Cole stepped away from the vehicle. He watched the prisoners get ushered out of the back, then taken in the direction of his tent. Cole stuck around the vehicles for a little while. He wanted the prisoners to know he was in no hurry.

Cole had let the rebels sit in his cold tent for a few minutes before he pulled back the flaps that were the entrance and walked in himself. The prisoners were both sitting on their knees with their hands cuffed in front of them. Cole reached up and pulled the mask from his face. Underneath, a large, dark bruise covered most of his left cheek. He smiled, pointed at the bruise, and spoke, "Oh, this wasn't done by either of you, was it?" Cole shook his head and his fake smile seemed to dim. "No, I know who did it. Unfortunately, I dispatched him far too quickly." Cole set the mask down gently, then crouched down to the height of the prisoners. "We're not going to make this easy, are we? You won't simply give me the information I seek?" Unsurprisingly, the rebels didn't offer any information willingly. Fine, I'll just have to practice my mentalism skills. Cole stood up straight and took a few steps back, then shut his eyes. He began to gather his focus, and began to sense the rebels' fear. Cole imagined his sinister hand reaching out for the rebel on the left. He began to poke and prod the man's mind. Cole could feel that the man began to feel uncomfortable, which only encouraged him to tighten his ghastly grip. He didn't want the rebel to feel discomfort, he wanted him to feel pain. He didn't start to try to find any information yet, he wanted this rebel's friend to realize how badly he could hurt them.

[10/20]

"If you insist on not telling me what I want to know then I will just have to play with you." Konrad stared deep into her eyes, trying to reach the deepest level of its consciousness to draw out memories it had tried to forget.

The slave let out a scream as it relived some of its worst memories. Konrad maintained the torture by chagrin until the slave crumpled onto the floor in tears. Seizing this opportunity, he stared harder at the slave and tapped into her mind. He could see from its point of view, the day its village was enslaved.

There was a scent of burning flesh on the day and bodies of those who were once its friends and family. The village was in ruins. There were soldiers everywhere and Konrad... Konrad just stood there, overseeing theses atrocities. The Brigadier General could feel the second hand pain in these memories but it did nothing aside from bringing a smile to his face. He was proud of causing it so much pain, of taking away everything it ever cared for and stripping away its identity completely. Whenever Konrad looked at the slaves, he did not see lives that were ruined, he did not see sentient beings suffering, he only saw property, disposable resources and free labour.

[ESCAPE]

Iziz could immediately think of several means in which the Vong would be able to repay that debt to him, but, for now, there were other threats on the horizon, Iziz was able to feel the souls of beings coming down their way... Even the spirit within the Jawa was beginning to get tired, he was in a constant state of maintenance, his powers being drained by telekinetically taking over all of the body functions which were failing within his physical form. It was a lot to concentrate on, and keeping beings alive was not the strongest suit of the long dead Sith Lord, ending and corrupting life was something that came as easily as the breeze, but preserving it was something else all together.

'You OWE me Iziz...'

Looking to the entrance and the fallen beast as well as his partner, the number of assailants that were coming down into the tunnel were little more than a dozen or two, a rescue team as opposed to a death squad sent for the purposes of execution. The specter could feel the nervousness radiating off of them from here, making him relax, though they were a small way off yet, Iziz looked to the corpses of the beasts which lay around them... each of them would make for excellent cover in their own right, with the bodies here, they would be more than able to...

"Let them come..."

The Sith whispered, his rumbling voice no longer projecting as if it were a spoken spell, consisting of only the most ancient words of power known to the sith.

"They're not here for us... they're here for them..."

Iziz pointed to the ripped and torn bodies of the soldiers who had survived the fall, not a single one of them were among the world of the living, were they, they would be begging for death by now, having watched their friends and comrades torn to shreds by the pack of wyrvens living deep below the ice. This was a frigid tomb now, and nothing more, but, the people coming would not know that.

"We should use the beasts for cover, hide, wait for them to inspect the bodies for survivors, and then flank them. Better to use their better nature as a weapon against them than risk charging head-ward into a firing squad in a tunnel"

With that, the Jawa inspected his stygium stealth device on his belt, the system seemed intact, which was a boon for this kind of attack, though, with his own state, he looked like death anyway, so it would not matter if he lay amongst the dead... The footsteps of those coming were getting closer, close enough so that they could be heard now, chatter between them echoing along the crystallic ice which lined the hallways of the chasm.

Assuming the vong went along with the plan, Iziz would lay face down on the ground, slowing the breathing of the body the spirit was in control of, puppeting everything to come to a near still one hand above his head, allowing his grip on his lightsaber to let go, not gripping it so to be suspicious. The rebels came into the room, reacting to the gory sight of everything before them, gasps and coughs going up as they surveyed the area around it... but they were smart, sending two scouts forward first to check the safety of the room while the others hung back, moving forward much slower...

Iziz could hear the slow crunching sound of ice crystals under boot as one man got closer and closer to him, looking down at the jawa and giving him a nudge with his foot. Iziz lay limp, not moving in the slightest as the soldier moved past... the scout had gone by... now just to wait for the main group. They began to talk among themselves now, clearing person by person as the scouts searched for life signs, not finding even one as they would progress further, grouping up near the entrance as they deliberated before finally deciding to move on, hoping that some were able to retreat. Their distress signals still sounding stronger now, leading them to the site of the cave in. Together now, the mob moved, closer, and closer, and closer to between the two of the silent assassins...

So close...

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
[Post=16/20]

"Not quite," said the man, leaning past her and working the console. "She built a 15 percent displacement differential into the readings. You could search those coordinates for days and not find her." The holographic map shuddered, went blank, and then flickered into life again, showing slightly different readings. "That's where she is," he nodded, pointing to the brightest light.

"She'd better be," said Timoris. "That's an odd place for a cache of technology."

"That's why you need me. I know her whole operation, but I can't do you any good from a Sith cell."

"Who said anything about letting you live?" Then after a long moment, she added, "Alright, but the first time you try anything..."

"There won't be a first time," he said. He cast a glance around the lab as they left. "This whole planet gives me the creeps."

The Sith agent's personal transport landed on an icy ridge, the starship's metal landing struts pressed into the surface, cracks forming under the weight of the vessel. Descending from the landing ramp, Catalys ventured into the open. The wintry air caused small crystals to form along his armour, causing it to become stiff and almost unmoving.

Luckily technology would offer temporary solutions to such things, a small oily coating prevented the joints from freezing completely, allowing him to move without much interference from the cold. Approaching the ledge, the Umbaran gazed down below and then peered across, his ability to see in darkness meant that unlike most sentients, what he saw happened to be far more vivid and in detail. Yet what he saw offered little value, as before him were the empty wastes of Vullain some several klicks from civilzation.

"I'm going for a walk," Catalys called back to his vessel on intercom. As long as he stood in range he could request immediate evac should he find himself in any unfortunate situations.

Moving down and below the ridge, the agent wandered across the icy plains and into the frozen deserts of Vullain.
