Together, we shall achieve wonderful things.
As advertised, the Tarkin Initiative is an Imperial collective that brings scientists, engineers, and manufacturers together to engage in the combined effort of arming the Imperial war machine with a generous variety of quality technology. Empires rise and fall, but the Tarkin Initiative survives, thriving in the shadows of the galaxy. We are stewards of the Imperial dream, visionaries who create the tools of war that every Empire needs. It is our responsibility to develop cutting edge technology and bestow it upon only the worthiest, empowering those who truly have what it takes to restore order to the galaxy and carve out a rightful Imperial Core.
But membership in the Initiative goes much farther than that.
T H E - S H A D O W - C O U N C I L
It has been decades since a true Empire has gripped the Core with an iron grasp. Since the fall of the New Imperial Order, the galaxy has seen several Empire rise, but many collapse under the weight of infighting or the machinations of Sith puppetmasters. Imperial Warlords and self-proclaimed emperors run amuck, pulling those who believe in order and justice in a dozen different directions, all to satisfy their own greed for power.
We can control them.
The Shadow Council is a conclave of Imperial warlords, agents, and loyalists who work together in secret while portraying themselves as little more than territorial enclaves holding onto their respective systems. We are a web woven carefully with a membership base that is highly selective. Cooperation is key, as any sign of collaboration would draw unwanted attention. Infighting will collapse the Initiative from within.
How does it work?
The intent of the Tarkin Initiative and its Shadow Collective is to facilitate a political intrigue network that encourages Imperial splinter factions to engage one another both directly on the battlefield, and implicitly through the web of conniving agents and scientists we employ. We are catalysts of Imperial intrigue who utilize shifting allegiances and factory contracts to manipulate the galaxy as we see fit.
The Shadow Council works best when its members "infiltrate" Imperial factions, working their way through the ranks into positions of power IC. From there, how you play your Council member is between you and the faction you're infiltrating. Does your character support the leader of a particular faction as the rightful Emperor-to-be, or are you simply getting close enough that you can collapse the enemy from within? Perhaps you simply want to use Imperial factions as a tool to target your enemies - warlords are good at waging war, after all. Maybe this is all just a marketing scheme to push your Imperial corporation up the Factory Tier list.
