Techniques [Darth Ferus]

Ayra slid backwards, kicking up dust and gravel as Ferus pushed her back. She tasted blood in her mouth from where he had connected with his fist, as well as the blows she had taken via his Force attacks. Lowering her upper body to avoid the first slashes, she span her Lightsaber up to deflect the second slash and then held it up against Ferus's weapon in a saber lock. Her eyes gleamed in her supreme hated, her mouth contorted in the rage that she felt. "Again, that wasn't Djem So, Darth Ferus. You're not playing fair."

"Well, neither do I."

Her right hand found the disruptor pistol on her right hand side. It curled itself around the grip and pulled the trigger, exploding a shot through the holster at Ferus's leg. If he didn't want to duel her with Djem So, that's fine. She wouldn't play by the rules either. Instead, she would play by her rules.

The rules of the Sith.

His form would turn as the shot rang out. The blast would burn along the top of his leg, literally removing the flesh as it it wasn't there to begin with. There was a gouge, similar to any sort of sword wound he would sustain in a sword fight, but he was angry then. Ferus's voice would bellow out, growling partway through it.

"Counter and continue a stream of attacks. Is that not Djem So? Is that not what I was doing?"

The Darth had stopped his attack then. His purpose was to learn the form, not duel. And now his leg smarted, badly. He leaned heavily on his uninjured leg, his free hand lightly gripping above the wound itself.

Ayra flicked the safety back on her pistol and rose up, spitting to her side. Her stomach and face still hurt from where she had been hit, but she would get over it. She was a tough girl. Turning her Lightsaber off, she turned and for a moment, looked to be walking away from Ferus. Instead, she came to a stop near a wall and picked off a canteen of water she had left there from before. She was a regular in the training courtyard and remembered that she had left it there the day before, during her routine exercises.

"You're right, Darth Ferus. Djem So is about an relentless assault. Never letting up on your opponent, by a continuous momentum of slashes, whilst incorporating marks of contact, such as Sun djem, Cho mai, Cho sun, Cho mok, Sai cha, Sai tok and Mou kei. However, the movements required do not incorporate Force based attacks. Theoretically, you could use the Force to speed up your movements or empower your strength, but that's all."

"You just blew me backwards with the Force... and you even hit me with your hand. These aren't Djem So movements; and whilst they were effective in stopping my own attacks with Djem So, you nearly lost your leg in the process." She gestured to the smoke rising from where she had shot him.

"We'll do it one move at a time, until you learn the combinations and movements." Turning the Lightsaber online, she spun the weapon in her hand as she approached Ferus. "Are you ready?"

Ferus continued to grit his teeth, but he nodded once. No more Force, at least to learn Djem So. He would release one breath before setting both hands on the pommel of his blade, nodding once more to the female.

"For now, yes."

Ayra lifted the weapon above her head, in the opening stance of Djem So. "Open your form, like this." She waited for him to do the same.

Ferus followed slowly, placing his feet slightly apart, holding the blade above his head. He had every intention on at least getting the opening form right. And from the way it seemed, he at least did that correctly. He offered Ayra a swift nod, ready to continue.

"Think of your blade like it were the rotators on top a helicopter. That is the way I think about it. It's a constant swirl and movement of your blade, that cannot be penetrated due to the fact that it keeps going round and round. It becomes too fast for them to get past. That is why Djem So is the perfect defense. Unlike Soresu, which doesn't deflect attacks onto others and instead deflects the attack away from the user, Djem So uses the attacks of the opponent against them, whilst being able to continue your own attack against them with the same continuous swing."

She began the rotation above her head, slower than she normally would, to show Ferus how it was gone. Her hilt exchanged between her hand every second or so to maintain the movement. At full pelt, the hilt moved faster than the current intervals; and when faced with an opponent who brought the best out of her, she could make five rotations per second, when aided by the Force.

"Very well." The Zabrak gripped his blade, then slowly twirled it above his head. Spinning a blade was nothing new to him, he learned how simply from boredom. As a child he would twirl his blade, even toss it one hand to the other while it spun for the sake of entertainment. He would gradually spin it faster, a smaller grin forming on his face.

"Feel the rotation, Darth Ferus. It's a constant spin, never ceasing, never ending. You are an unstoppable force, you are ruthless." Ayra began to speed up the rotation now, her crimson blade becoming a red blur above her head. She spoke as she sped up the momentum of her rotation. "Using the others attack against them, by deflecting the slash back upon themselves. The counter attacking, ruthless form. Djem So."

She took a step forward, approaching Ferus. She swan her rotating blade into the path of Ferus's and attempted to deflect his own slashes, his own rotation, against himself with her blade, as a way of showing him how it's done.

Ferus found himself stumbling back, his blade knocked clean the other way. He frowned, lightly gripping his blade in one hand. ".. Alright. I think I understand." He began to spin his blade, twirling it over head once again, faster and faster.

"Now we'll focus on the attacking and counter attack angles of Djem So. I've fought others who use Djem So, the majority of them Jedi. When two users fight each other, then deflection of ones attacks on the other is difficult than say, you using Makashi against my form. Each form has a weakness to it, however, as evident by your use of Ataru against me earlier. That's why I want to teach you Djem So in exchange for your knowledge on Ataru and the other forms you know, so I can adapt in a duel."

Lifting her right hand, she beckoned him towards her. "Attack me, Darth Ferus."

"Very well." He set forward, the purple burning blade of Deus spinning in his palms. Ferus's form would burst outwards, his speed augmented by the Force as he closed in. With both hands on his blade he would bring his blade down overhead, ripping it forward to tear her chest open. He fought to kill, even in a duel. That was the only way to train after all.

Ayra moved backwards with the spinning momentum of her blade, latching her crimson beam into the purple colour of Deus and diverted it to the side, in a parry, which was impressive on Ferus's part, as attacks were meant to be deflected onto the attacker, not simply parried away.

[member="Darth Ayra"]

Even as his blade was knocked away Ferus began to turn with it. Using to momentum from the parry he would continue, ripping his blade lengthwise for her chest as he came back around. He would not move into any sort of combo. Yet. For now these were single focused attacks meant to help him gain a basic understanding of Djem So.

Ayra stumbled as she felt the beam sear across her chest, for the briefest of seconds. Her Lightsaber span in the motion and deflected the blade downwards towards his leg, off her own slash down into it's path. She then took a step backwards in the same motion as her deflection to give room between herself and Ferus.

Ferus slid out of the way slowly, away from his own blade. He'd spin with it, once more slashing out for her chest as he bent over, the slash itself really just to prevent her from attacking. He'd stand up then, still favoring his uninjured leg. The disruptor shot was enough to put him off, that was for sure.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ° ͜ʖ °)

It was time to show Ferus what she meant by ruthlessness, momentum and rage, all incorporated into the Sith's aggressive form: Djem So. Ayra span her weapon and began to unleash the Sith Flurry. A series of spinning slashes and moves above the head, diverted to all areas of the body. She was going for Shiim's however, despite being capable of performing Sun djem and a host of other marks of contacts at this time.

Ferus blinked once, then slowly found himself being pushed back. Still limping, he more or less clumsily parried her blade, evading what he could as best as he could. But now it wasn't enough, his blade would get knocked free from his hands, and the Zabrak would have to leap backwards to evade another of her attacks. There he would stand, currently weaponless, but Deus would begin to soar through the air to his offhand.

He seemed tense though, ready.

Ayra turned her Lightsaber off, for safety precautions. She had shown the basics of Djem So to Ferus, what came next was the build of the spin and techniques that she had shown to him, until it became second nature. Only when could he consider himself a master of the form, as she was. Crossing her arms together, across her chest, she grinned and said. "Now it's your turn to show me something new. What do you say, handsome?"

[member="Darth Ayra"]

Ferus would catch Deus before speaking, his voice oddly soft.

"First, explain what you mean by handsome? People have called me that before, but I don't understand the implication." He was genuinely curious. He grew up with warfare, and had nothing behind him in the ways of social interaction. Well, the more intimate kind.
