ADVANCED SYSTEMS

[*]Stealth:

Strengths:
  • Ability to resist conner nets and EMPs
  • Ability to penetrate interdiction fields
  • Fast, maneuverable
  • Stealth suite
  • Slim flank profile
  • High hyperspace speed
Weaknesses:
  • Takes up a large amount of hangar resources: it takes up the amount of resources of an entire squadron of attack craft in a hangar bay
  • Exposed cockpit
  • Exposed vertical stabilizer: if the vertical stabilizer is destroyed, the sensors and EWAR suite are gone as well
  • Limited ordnance
  • Mobility is reduced when the stealth suite is active
  • Maneuverability is reduced when the SLAM is active
  • SLAM cannot be activated when the S-foils are extended
Description: As with the Telepath-I, the Telepath-II's tailfin is used to house sensors, EWAR equipment and the stealth suite. The stealth suite allows the ship itself needs to be rendered invisible, at a cost of mobility. When entanglements force a stealth blockade runner to fight, two nose-mounted heavy repeating electromagnetic plasma cannons and an ordnance bay allow it to fight, even though the ordnance bay has a limited capacity. Also, since the GAM has been removed, as well as the nykkalt, mass-detectors could detect the ship. Even though, compared to the Telepath-I, the changes may seem minor, the Telepath-II pays the price is another area: hyperdrive. Lowered from its original 0.3 hyperdrive, the 0.5 hyperdrive is still rather fast, just a little slower than the original.

When stealth is not that important, but sublight speed is essential, a SLAM device allows it to give a boost of speed at the expense of maneuverability. However, it cannot be activated when the S-foils are extended; the S-foils are designed to help land the ship in atmosphere. Finally, the resources needed for the upkeep of such a diminutive stealth platform are staggering: it takes up the resources of an entire squadron of starfighters if the pilot decides to have the craft hangared onboard a larger ship, most often out of necessity, such as rearming the ship or emergency repairs.

[member="Cathul Thuku"], this looks like it's one rating too high.

The amount of stealth technology in here is also getting high enough where I feel this this would be closer to semi-unique production because in actual effect, all of these devices combined together are very close to the practical effect of having a cloaking device. There's two ways we can go about this:

1) Remove some stealth systems
2) Fully detail out the overall culmination of this ship's stealthiness, detailing the extent of the stealth ability of specific technologies and/or detailing ways this ship could be detected.

This is still one rating too high.

Gir Quee Here, removed the reflec, and also removed the GAM.
This will work if the optical shield is also removed.

EWAR ECM/ECCM Suite (Subspace, Realspace, Sub-Hyperspace, Hyperspace)

What are the specifics of these systems, especially those that aren't in realspace?

[member="Gir Quee"] Removed the optical shield, removed one speed point, and also removed any specific mention of non-realspace EWAR equipment, while confining the actual ECM/ECCM systems to the realm of sensor jamming.
