Tenancy (Order of the Gray)

The following are useful facts:

  • The Rekali family controls Yavin IV under the aegis of retired Field Marshal Ember Rekali;
  • Ember Rekali rebuilt the subterranean Lost City of the Jedi in total secrecy and with great expense;
  • The Order of the Grey received his permission to live and train in the ancient Massassi temples of Yavin IV; other Field Marshals acquiesced to the Greys' presence in the Yavin system;
  • A Mandalorian patrol fleet controls the Yavin system;
  • The Greys' presence has been immensely controversial among Mandalorians since day one;
  • Alec Rekali, alone, is coming to check up on them.

Alec didn't cast an especially intimidating shadow. She wore no armor today; she saved it for special occasions and the combat she anticipated. Basic gray flight suit unzipped to the sternum, gray shirt underneath, brass knuckles on a string around her neck, boots. Boots were important in the jungle she'd called home for so many years. No matter how many times she went out mining rare ores in Wild Space, or to the Shardrock sanctuary on Dathomir, she always returned here. She preferred using a small cloaked ship, not wishing to give away the location of the secret Rekali-slash-Underground base, and it was one such ship -- a small hibridium-cloaked starfighter -- that appeared at the edge of the Order's compound. Maybe they knew who she was, maybe they didn't. She left her helmet in the cockpit and headed into the temples as if she owned the place.

"Morning."

Alexandra had been informed of the ship as its projected trajectory came down and landed off the edge of the compound. With a smile though Alexandra pulled her hair back and stood slowly, robes smoothed out and cloak pulled tight around her. It would take her a minute to get to the entrance of the temple where she soon found Rekali arriving. "Well hello back, i do believe that this is a surprise. I remember you from the coalition meeting, Rekali right?" Alexandra gave the woman a bow before turning her eyes up and at Alec again.

"One of the lesser Rekalis. No Force wuzzardry involved." She squinted up at the dawn's light by the temples' crowns. "Just dropping by for the rent. I'll take it in pancakes and a tour, if you've got someone available. Looks like you folks have renovated like mad."

Alexandra smiled and nodded. "Im pretty sure i can take the time to give you a tour miss Rekali, both my children are asleep right now so that won't bee any problem at all." She rolled her head and started moving now as she turned her whole body towards the entrance. "If you would join me please, i think you also requested pancakes."

"That was more a joke than anything. I ate before I came. Just trying to lighten the mood -- last time my grandfather was here, some of your people were very, very hostile to us. It didn't go over well." She shrugged. "So I figured, time to see what you're up to out here, make sure we're in a good place. Y'know, collectively.

"So tell me about what we're looking at. What kinds of renovations have you done?"

"Well, In the deepest depths of the basement there is an Alchemy forge that only those on the council have permission to get access to. We don't need some initiate getting and getting themselves corrupted by the darkside to the point where they become pure darksiders... or worse Sith. As for the troubled elements from before, i can assure you they are no longer here, as you will come to find out they were more trouble and a danger to the Order. Otherwise alot has been re purposing and otherwise."

"Makes sense to me...but let's see this forge, if you could show it to me. What gets made there? What kind of processes do you use? I'm no Forcer, but I've got enough Masters in the family to more or less know what you're talking about."

Alexandra smiled and reached down to her side where a gauntlet was hanging, taking it from her side and presenting it to the woman as she shivered a bit. The Darkside permeated from the gauntlet and she hated the feeling that it brought to his spin, chilling it to the point of near paralyzation with how it felt. "This Gauntlet is to my knowledge one of the few things that were created there thus far... its a useful counter defense against lightning for a short time as well as a symbol of our order. What i mean is while this thing is darkside to its nature, this..." She reached up, pulling out an wooden carved amulet. "... This is lightsided in its nature, thus allowing us to both physically say we are Grey force users, and through the force say so. Oh, and please don't call us Jedi, we get highly annoyed being called by those weaklings, same in regards to the Sith, only more so because of their... sadistic nature." She twitched a bit talking about the sith, her hand holding onto the Gauntlet tightening a bit. "As for showing you the forge.. i suppose that is ok, but the moment you see it i suggest we leave... i get headaches and sick being in that place."

"You do realize, right, that the only thing that separates a Sith from any other Darksider is access to, and training in, Sith techniques? And that the only way to make something like this is with Sith techniques? No matter what label or identity gets slapped onto the person who made this, no matter what they call themselves, they're a Sith -- that's textbook. Let's see this forge."

"Alchemy is a tool that even your people use too at times, and if it can aid in the fight against the Sith then i am more than happy to let certain members in my order use it... though do realize i keep the access to the forge strict for a reason, and you will soon see how strict." She started down some stares, it would take a few minutes to reach the depth that the Forge resided at, but it was all for a purpose. And with each step it would seem to get darker and sadder, Alex's stomach twisting. "Ugh i hate this place..."

"Lady, my father was a Sith Lord. Alchemy's got a cost. Even learning it from the right sources takes blood sacrifices. There's a reason this place feels like this. It's because of what's needed to be done to learn it and use it."

Her stomach twisted, but she'd known worse.

"I know, it doesn't make me feel any better anyways... it is useful though... ill leave Krest to the Alchemy work though." She shivered and soon they were at the first door, a scanner off to the rightside of it. Alex sighed and reached out to the scanner, a pinprick drawing fresh blood as it began doing a bioscan of both the blood and Alex's flesh as she left it in the scanner. "Give it a minute, ive designed this to check for every possible indication of identification and that im still living and conscious... a bit of precaution but i made sure that it was like this."

"Good security, if you're gonna have a Dark Side nexus in the basement. Was it this dark when you got here? Is this all new? And tell me about this Krest, if he does the bulk of your alchemy. Where'd he get his Sith training?"

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
[member="Alec Rekali"]

"I prefer to let Krest defend himself in that aspect if you do not mind Miss Rekali... as for the Forge and its nexus it was created by Krest and a few others, though we do have something much more hospitable on the roof that counters this place in both its affinity and the fact i dont feel like im going to throw up just being here..." With that the doors opened, only to have a second set of doors waiting and Alexandra rolled her head as she spoke. "Eve, come on, you know i hate being here..." The sound of laughing could be heard as the holographic projection of the AI appeared infront of the two. "Ya ya Alex... who's the newbie?" Alexandra sighed and looked at Alec. "Miss Rekali, this is Eve, the AI i developed that helps run my business and security for the temple, do ignore her comments as ive yet to find a way to teach her manners."

"Wise move, keeping a Light Side nexus and a Dark Side nexus close to each other. Cancels each other out, like you said. I doubt my grandfather even knows you've got'em."

The AI got a nod. "Hello, Eve. What can you tell me about what gets made in this forge?"

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
[member="Alec Rekali"]

The AI Grinned mischieviously. "Oh you know, making mega zombies with blades for ar-" Alexandra shot her a look. "I can still shut you down Eve..." With that the AI stopped and laughed before starting again. "Sorry, old habit of messing with Krest, what is generally made here are items for personal use or weapons like Alchemical swords like the one that Krest himself uses. I don't get how they do it, but do explain because their magic confuses me and Alexandra refuses too." Alexandra rubbed her forehead. "Eve, the door, we can continue this conversation after we leave this place..."

"Well, hold up a sec. I've been around the block enough times to know there's blades and there's blades, there's personal use and there's personal use. Gonna need a few more specifics here."

Eve shook her head quick. "The only thing to be made with this forge as of this moment are the Gauntlets, there has been no other item crafted from the forge. Atleast to my knowledge that is." The door would then open and Alexandra stepped inside, losing all color to her face immediately from the feeling. In the middle of the small room was the Alchemy forge, sitting there, alone and the darkest point in the room.

Krest was right behind [member="Alexandra Lianne Feanor"] folding both hands behind his back. The Zabrak was dressed in his usual getup with the gauntlet on his left hand, a sword sheathed below on his waist, a saber on the opposite side, and a basic slugthrowing revolver tucked in the back of his sash.

"A dagger used for ceremonial purposes, the sword on my hip, and the gauntlets. There has been nothing else, yet. Of course, I you would like something, I'm sure I can accommodate." A light bow was offered to [member="Alec Rekali"] . Krest was more than pleased to see a Mandalorian stop by. If he had the time, he would of gone out. Of course, he shall make the time soon enough.

Alec's jaw knotted, but she approached the forge. From her pocket, she fished out a small crystal; it glowed a fierce red. She might not be sensitive to these things apart from a chill, but the thaissen crystal confirmed it. Whatever the Greys had done here, this place bore the mark of evil. Dark Side nexuses didn't just appear out of thin air.

"This isn't something my grandfather would approve of, Feanor. Not sure I have to tell him all of it, but it'd ease both our minds if we brought in a monitor, someone to make sure this place is supervised when in use. A non-Forcer, probably a metalsmith, someone who knows his business and wouldn't be fall for the nexus."

Then [member="Krest"] appeared; she turned to the alchemist.

"Got no taste for alchemy myself. My only concern here is making sure Yavin Four's safe. An alchemical forge can make just about anything."
