The Arms Race

Piraiba

Togorian Barricade
Also to get back off topic for a moment...

German Wonder Waffles or other random crazy projects for that matter... The most delightful thing they created in my opinion was the Maus - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_VIII_Maus

The ironic name aside, this was nearly 200 tons of 'can't cross a bridge' tank. In the campaign of all of our characters fighting with world war 2 tech ... this is what Piraiba drives into the fight. Just wait up for him. :p

Ok back on topic ... Piraiba can't sneak/do espionage, but I thought i'd add that tank tidbit to the conversation for fun.

Okay a quick little update.
1. I've assigned "leaders" to the Republic and Sith sides. Darron and Velok appropriately. Eventually this can change but right now from an IC point of view they are two masters soyeah.

2. I've create a "neutral" brief so factions like Omega Pyre, the Mandalorians, and others, can join in as sort of freelancers. They don't have objectives persay, but its a way for us to have loners who can switch sides and add more dynamic story elements to this entire thing. Also it gives those other factions with less representation a chance to help change the "balance of power" and effects things you know? It would be too much for me to write things for every faction but this way they can still participate and represent their factions interests.

3. I will post an OOC Brief here which is also considered IC Knowledge. I will then start working on the first IC post which is predominantly a quick framing post telling you where everything/everyone is. After I post you guys can dive right in. In the Brief for each group I have a "Start" section which tells you where your group starts. I can't enforce it, but I highly suggest you try to work out a plan together before simply going off and doing whatever on your own.

4. There are certain situations (which is why I picked team leaders, to keep it honest) in which I will throw random situations at you. For instance if you're sneaking into a facility and things are going too well I might have someone walk around a corner and slam into you. This isn't meant to punishment or anything like that but just to keep things interesting. Honestly I'm trying to set it up so you, the players, provide most of the conflict with me just framing the situations. But be aware it might happen.

5. I hope everyone has a ton of fun, and I'll change up how I do things as I go along. SO off I go to write the brief. In two hours I hope to have the Briefs and the first post done (along with some other work I need to get done).

Looking forward to it. So to clarify, the leaders of the group are the ones giving the assignments, right? Should be interesting to see what Daxton gets assigned to do :D

Yeah, it just made sense to make the two masters in charge. Also it helps to centralize things and keep people from just doing whatever they want and making the thread harder for me.

Weapons of War: Mission 1 “Best Buy”

So in order to keep things straight, I’d like people to use @Sirella Valkner whenever you’re talking to an NPC. In addition because there are a fair amount of players if everyone could post at the top of their post where there character is I’d appreciate it. Example: If you’re at the Nexus Cantina that would become the header to your post. The following is the Briefs for each group involved. The Brief will include leads and NPCs and conditions for victories. Victories will be categorized as Major and Minor. Major victory will give you a leg up in the next mission, a minor victory less so. Obviously if the “enemy” factions wins a Major victory that is for you a defeat. It IS possible for both factions to have a minor victory.

The Republic Brief:
Leader: Darron Wraith, Jedi Master

The Republic has intercepted transmissions pertaining to new Sith Weapon systems. These weapons are said, in these messages, to be capable of changing the balance of power in the galaxy. Obviously the Republic cannot let this stand, and so sent an agent to acquire records supposedly from the project being sold by a rogue engineer, Ecole Prig. The buy was supposed to establish the engineers credibility, so we’d know he was on the up and up. The promise being that he be able to smuggle out more technologies, specifications, and reports.

The buy went bad. Its been three days. An all systems bulletin has gone up, engineer Ecole is now a fugitive, wanted by the Sith, and our agent has been reported killed. The data and knowledge that the engineer possessing could be vital to hindering Sith development.

Your Mission is to extract the engineer, or failing that retrieve the data he has stolen and send it safely to the republic for analyst. This is a covert operation and the political situation being what it is we need to tread carefully. We cannot afford a full blown firefight to claim the engineer, or other incidents like that, you must walk softly.

Leads:
Lianna Security: Lianna security has launched an investigation into the murder of our agent. Ecole Prig is the prime suspect. The Lianna security forces no doubt have records on the man. Perhaps they could be of help, unfortunately I doubt they will just hand them over.
Ecole Prigs Apartment: Lianna Security were all over it, but there is a chance something was left behind, something that normal security forces might have missed.

Sarra Trent: When our agent was doing basis reconnaissance and studying the potential source she reported that Sarra Trent and Ecole Prig were having something of an affair. Sarra Trent is married to Dr. Hol Trent. She may know where her lover is, or maybe she’s actively hiding him. It is worth investigating.

Start: You will start at a safehouse on Lianna. There the team will assemble and begin the mission.

Victory Conditions:
Extract the Ecole Prig for interrogation (10pts)
Obtain Sith Records (5pts)
Remain undetected (5pts)
Causing an incident (-1 pt per incident)

Victory Rewards:
First hand knowledge of the Project and layout of the labs + Other information you may use to your advantage in other missions (Major Republic Victory)
You get to find out what the Project actually is! And probably some other minor details (Minor Republic Victory)

Sith Empire Brief:
Leader: Velok, Sith Master

The Republic scum have infiltrated our planet. One of our engineers working on a secret project was attempting to sell information to the Republic. We found out of course, it would be foolish not to watch our people when they are assigned important tasks. However the operation was bungled. We managed to capture the Republic agent, but the engineer got away, and with the information.

The engineer was was Ecole Prig, we’d had him under surveillance. We’ve leaked reports the Lianna Security Bureau that Ecole had murdered the Republic agent. The full force of the local security forces are after the man, which should make our jobs easier. We can’t afford any political backlash here, so we’ll have to tread carefully and work around the locals. If they catch the man they will hand them over but I wouldn’t count on them catching him. He’s evaded them for this long.

Your mission is simple, eliminate Ecole Prig, recover or destroy the data and find any Republic dogs trying to get their hands on the information. I have complete trust in you, knowing how failure is treated in the Empire.

Leads:
Republic Imperial Sith Internal Security (ISIS) forces have captured a republic agent. She is refusing to break, and hasn’t even given up her name during a standard interrogation. She must know something.
Ecole Prigs Apartment: Lianna Security were all over it, but there is a chance something was left behind, something that normal security forces might have missed. They are after all incompetent.

Sarra Trent: The Sith Internal Security force keeps track of many men such as Ecole. He was a security risk and so we had him followed. Ecole made a cuckold of Dr. Hol Trent. Perhaps investigating his lover will lead us to him.

Start: Sith players will start in Sith Internal Security Offices. They have like... a staff, and hunched over dudes reading computer screens for them.

Victory Conditions:
Kill or Capture Ecole Prigs (10pts)
Prevent Sith Records from falling into enemy hands (5pts)
Find Republic Safe House (5pts)
Causing an incident (-1 pt per incident)

Victory Rewards:
Variable (Major Sith Victory)
Variable (Minor Sith Victory)

Neutral Brief:
You’ve heard through back channels that an engineer on Lianna was looking to sell Sith Secrets. This could be extremely profitable. The Sith and Republic are most likely scrambling, and you could easily find yourself to help or hinder their progress....

Start: Starport
Leads:
Pringo the Hutt: Pringo is a permanent fixture in the underworld on Lianna. If anyone is looking to sell information it reasons that Pringo's Palace would be their first stop.
Ecole Prigs Apartment: Lianna Security were all over it, but there is a chance something was left behind, something that normal security forces might have missed.
Sarra Trent: Your contacts on the planet have said that Sarra Trent had an affair with the Engineer Ecole Prigs. She might know where the man is.

I made a quick post. I didn't do much, its really short. I realized I hadn't established where Sarra Trent was in the Briefs so I had to do it in the thread, and since the interrogation cell is like right down the hall from the Sith Start area I felt it was best to do a quick little paragraph to set the scene.

Otherwise you all have Start Area's and leads to work of of. You should assemble and discuss plans and yeah once you start with actions I'll start GMing and we'll have some fun.

Is there an ooc board for the Sith team?

Otherwise I can use this thread since, I can take a crack at the interrogation or you could send me to to check a specific location.
Also is there a posting rule for the campaign? I tend to be online when people aren't so i have to ask if there is a posting rule for the game.

No there isn't a Team specific OOC. I'm trusting the players to just post here and not use OOC Knowledge ICly.

Also there is no posting rule, but if people are getting too far ahead and leaving others behind I will try to slow things down.

Sorry for not posting. Was super busy today. I'll get on it at any time. Also @[member="Zev Stargo "]feel free to post in the thread arriving in the appropriate faction area. Just tell folk here in the OOC which faction you're going with (just don't see a faction label on your profile)

Under Cover like a CIA agent would go undercover. Example it is technically illegal for the CIA to operate within American boarders. So its the same sort of situation. While you are part of the government you technically don't have "the right" to interfere in their local affairs because of the delicate political situation. And Lianna is important because of its shipyards and industrial sectors so we can't afford to alienate them. Get it?

Edit: yes it is still open. @[member="Blagga Vajlicsic Indora"]
