  • Organization Symbol: Here.

  • Description: The silent watchers and protectors of the ruling body in Kaikielius. Much like Royal Guards and a Reserve Army, the Artirian Legion is meant to protect the Sanctum; The Dukes and Duchesses that form the ruling body of the Interstellar Protectorate, tasked with guarding not just the Sanctum but also the royal family that holds the Suncryst Throne in Kaikielius.

  • Headquarters: Kaikielius, Dol Gorthur [HQ], Centurion Academy.

  • Realm: Kaikielius [HQ], members of the Artirian Legion guard the Royal Palace of Enfer in Mensonge and accompany members of the Interstellar Protectorate’s Sanctum. They are said to have small properties in planets such as Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant, Orvax IV and the Kaikieli Moons.

  • Domain: Often seen by other nobles like mere lapdogs and fangs of the members of the Sanctum, the Sentinels do not hold any domain, but are respected whenever they go by the status they possess.

  • Notable Assets: N/A.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Hierarchy: The Artirian Legion is divided into four branches, all of which are under the direct command of an appointed Lord-Commander.

  • Lord-Commander: Jegan Ekall

    Artirian Tribunal:

    1 x High-Centurion of the Verathine Guard

  • 1 x High-Centurion of the Ostirithine Guard

  • 1 x High-Centurion of the Polodren Watch

[*]
The Polodren Reserves: Formed from non force users and force users who have distinguished themselves or failed to ascend even higher, much like the former Jedi Corps. The Sentinels of the Polodren Watch acts as elite military units under the direct command of the Primarch and Lord-Commander, whose loyalty is exclusive to the Sanctum, a reserve army ready to defend and serve the ruling nobility of the Protectorate whenever called. The largest of all the three branches.

[*]
The Ostirithine Guard: the Sentinels of the Ostirithine Guard are the sworn protectors of the Royal Palace of Enfer, as well as key assets of the Sanctum and it’s Noble Houses. The palace guards and members that guard the private keeps of the Sanctum members, the second largest of all the three branches.

[*]
The Verathine Guard: the Sentinels of the Verathine Guard are the zealous protectors of the Primarch and act as the elite personal guardsmen for members of the Sanctum’s noble houses. The smallest of all the three branches, but by far, the deadliest ones.

[*]
The Centurion Academy: Not a branch itself, the Centurions as they are called are the ones in charge of training all of the other branch members, answering to the High-Centurions of each branch instead of having a representative of their own. The Centurions are weaponmasters, often from alien races and other planets, hired to train this elite in the name of the Sanctum and in charge of the selection of the members under the strict requirements of size, strength, intelligence, and loyalty.

  • Membership:
IC: Approximately three to five million. Many picked and selected from many worlds in the Tapani Sector ever since they were children or have proven themselves, others bought from slavers offworld, freed to join the Artirian Legion if they chose. The candidates had to meet the basic height requirement of 1.80 meters, enduring long training sessions of many advanced forms of combats, they are taught and trained to be unquestionably loyal to the Sanctum. Taught that the Primarch’s word is the law and has to be obeyed without any question or hesitation, even if meant killing one of their own.

More about in Doctrines.

OOC: Shoot a DM to me or to Jegan Ekali and we will be happy to have you.

  • Influence: No particular influence is possessed by the Artirian Legion except the one under Protectorate territory. Some Centurions are said to be the ones send out in the greater galaxy to recruit, buy more trainers and find more of the best to serve under the Legion.

  • Climate: A organization ruled by strength and blind loyalty. Taught ever since the beginning about how they are giving their lives to a cause greater than themselves, about how much they sacrificed to attain a chance to obtain the greatest honor the Protectorate could bestow on a sentient. Failure is not a option, for failure means death or worse, those raised ever since they are children are taught about loyalty above everything, suicides are not something they are not unfamiliar with, for such can be the shame of bringing dishonor upon yourself if not able to pass the tests that someone cannot take the pressure. The weak are wiped away, its said that the strong choosing to join the Polodren Reserves, the loyal become Ostirithine Guards (Or Osts), while the greatest of them all are meant to become members of the Verathine Royal Guards, the Sentinels.
“Failure is weakness and weakness is punished by Death.”

  • Reputation: By the commoners, the Artirian Legion is a mere name for the ‘royal guards’ that are found to escort their ruler and some Sanctum members (since most have means to train their own), often seen by the public as a honorable and prestigious way to serve the nobility, some often find themselves honored to give away their children when selected from infancy to become part of the Legion, as taught by the Church of the Word. “To serve others, not to be served” is often associated with the Legion and the Centurions with their recruitment ways. Others relent doing it so, having being forced to do it so by the Right of Conscription, that gives them the right to take the child by force if they have to instead of paying a fair price or forgiving the currents debts of a family for the child, because after taken, the child can never see his/her family ever again.

  • The mid level nobles (Barons, Lords and Chevaliers) and even some or many Sanctum members have a different opinion on the matter, as they see the Artirian Legion as mere lapdogs of the whims and will of the Primarch and the Royal House. Many Sanctum members (Of now and before) see a detachment of Sentinels addressed personally to them as a offense of being suspected of treachery, to be watched closely, or afraid of having assassins that might kill under the word of their sworn leader thus prefering to hire and train their own personal ‘sworn swords’ to their Houses that shall serve them and only them.

  • The Army Corps and the Navy Corps see them with great respect and fear, for no one among them knows what really happens during their training, but they welcome a member of the Artirian as if he were a member of the Sanctum themselves. For they are often send away to fight against pirates or in some ally front so they can keep themselves.

  • Rules: Above everything lies loyalty, it is that a Sentinel never seeks special privileges, his entire purpose in this life is to serve the Sanctum and protect nobility, a purpose that one must take it to his grave. Taught to never ask mercy if injured, for none would be given to them. Tortured both physically and psychologically to understand that their lives had the sole purpose of protecting nobility and that the punishment for that meant a slow and painful death. To fail the Sanctum is not a option for them. Women are also allowed in the Artirian Legion, but the relation between both genders is often separated and forbidden of any social interaction.

  • Doctrines: Highly devoted not only to the Church of the Word, but for the Sanctum. Trained intensively each day, taught that for someone to achieve a position in the Artirisian Legion is to achieve the most prestigious rank in all the Protectorate, having to perform a number of missions and prove himself or herself with those skills so that he can be designated for one of its branches. Much of this training is personally given by the Centurions as instructed by the High-Centurions and the Lord-Commander. Members of the Sanctum have no right to dictate their ways, but can send recruits for training, none except the current Royal House can say a word about their ways. They are taught their very own battle language, one involving hand gestures and other words that only belong to the knowledge of the Legion and the Legion alone. Much of that happens long before the Joining, a ritual of graduation. This recruits fight to the death in a arena to prove themselves against beasts, or assassin droids, the worst types of criminals, bounty hunters and even among themselves. The winners are than assigned for serving under one of the three branches, when by any chance the recruits loses against a outlaw or bounty hunter, he receives the same opportunity to join as a Centurion, the other one being sentenced to fighting to the death with the next recruit. Any sign of treason, failure or even ambition is followed by heavy punishments. A tale that runs in the Artirian Legions tells of a Sentinels that dreamed too high and aspired to become King of Kaikielius, after such discovery, the Sanctum arrested him and placed him on the pit. His enemy were his wife, his three children and his parents, he had to kill all of them, refusing to do it so, the Sanctum murdered his family but spared his son, sentencing him to a slow and painful death in front of his son, the Sentinel begged his boy to remain faithful, which he did.

  • The Polodren Reserves: Trained as elite commandos. The Reserves are heavy troops that carry disruptors and slugthrowers instead of blasters, taught how to survive and shoot by mandalorian instructors, wookie warriors, kaleesh beast masters. Trained with many of the kaleesh weapons of choice, the Czerka Outland Rifles, the Lig Swords and the deadly Baragwin Disruptor-X. Trained to fly fast ships for assault, the Polodren Reserves are a powerful and elite army.

  • The Ostirithine Guard: The palace guardians of the Legion. The Ostirithine are one of the branches that still have very heavy training imposed in savage ways to keep them in fighting trim. Trained to fight like Dashades and Noghri, the palace guards are famous for having Morellian instructors. Often found with slugthrower rifles or light machine guns, energy pikes and even vibro-voulges, the Ostirithine is often found carrying

  • The Verathine Guard: Mostly Force Users, trained hardly and almost brainwashed in the service of the Legion. This are the real Sentinels, trained harder than all the ones before them, taught to fight with vibroswords by Maladi Assassin's and Dark Jedi instructors with deadly techniques such as kai-kan, fast style, jar’kai. Learning to fight with double vibroblades, vibrostaffs, vibroswords, vibro-arbir blade, Bilari electro-chain whip, vibroknuckler fighting styles such as teräs käsi, stava and ways to shoot like no other. They are said to be the best of the best, always covered by long dark/golden cloaks to cover their armors.

  • Goals: It is said: “A Sentinel never seek any personal glory. His entire goal in in life is to serve the Sanctum, and the nobility."

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Not long after the Church of the Word was created and made it public where all were obliged to join, Queen Margeritte Kraljica found herself surrounded by threats to her life. After the first assassination attempt, her Steward went on to search throughout the galaxy for means to establish a personal order of escorts and private knights to protect the Queen and other Sanctum members. Being approached by the former members of the Royal Guard that was established by the Emperor Palpatine himself after his second demise. Old and bitter, the old Royal Guard called Quinn Falconer.

Helping them to create a basic hierarchy and training program, Quinn brought his own daughter, a ruthless mercenary called Quellcrist to help with the training. It took at least two years before the first ‘batch’ of Sentinels were ready to protect the Queen Margeritte, Silent, deadly and loyal, the Queen was so impressed with the Sentinels that she even made a bet with her Steward, putting both her current mercenary bodyguards to clash against those four Sentinels. The result proved to be a carnage, as all twenty two mercenary were killed by the Sentinels. Satisfied with the results, Margeritte paid the former Royal Guard and his daughter with titles and a small fortune to train her even more Sentinels, for she had the desire to have a small elite of the elite force under command if she ever needed to protect the Sanctum and her own life and replace the current palace guards for a more trained lot to protect her family. Establishing the Centurion Academy in a secret location in her own estate in one of the Kaikieli moons.

In very short time, the Ostirithine Guard was created, trained, armed and replaced the current palace guards. Proven to be a success as they foiled three assassinations attempts on the Queen’s life, Margeritte was so impressed with her Verathine, or Sentinels as they were called that she found herself with them always close to her.
It was only in her sons time in the throne, Justin Kraljica that this fact led to the creation of the Polodren Reserves, his reign was followed by many traitors of the faith and other ‘pretenders’ on becoming conquerors. Worried, he called Quellcrist, old much like her father with his mother, for he want it to have a ‘spare’ army at hand in case the Royal Army betrayed his confidence or lost in battle. Unlike her father, Quellcrist didn’t made any promises for she said the cost about having more Centurions to train even more soldiers would be great, but King Justin much like his mother, offered titles and loot to all new instructors that proved themselves handy.

I love how well written and lore-rich this is. Great work! The only comments I have are of the technical kind:

Primarch Iedolas said:
Headquarters: Dol Gorthur [HQ],.
Is there a sub for Dol Gorthur?

Primarch Iedolas said:
the Royal Palace of Enfer in Mensonge
Same question for Mensonge.

Primarch Iedolas said:
Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant, Orvax IV
These need to be linked too please :)

[member="Scherezade deWinter"] thank you very much for that.

About Enfer: Is on the same as Kaikielius in the locations area.

About Dol Gorthur, I don't not have a sub for that, but I intend to make one after my factory subs are evaluated. If that is a issue, I can remove that for now.

The rest is done.

Again thank you.

I echo deWinter's sentiments, very impressive work here.

I'd recommend subbing a NPC unit if you are planning on having these guys do battle though. That way your opponents will have a clear picture of their strengths and weaknesses. Other than that this is great. Pending secondary approval!
