The Average Bar Thread Strikes Back

Vinskk clicked and stared at the Human female, his reptilian gaze focusing on her face. "Vinskk sees lightsaber on Jeedai's body. Only thing keeping human Jeedai's tongue in her mouth." He downed the rest of his drink and ordered another one, all while keeping his eyes on the human who, perhaps unintentionally, challenged him. Vinskk's natural aggression ramped up and he could feel his muscles beginning to draw on energy absorbed by the sun earlier, his cold-blooded nature capable of delivering swift movements from his body despite his large size. The Trandoshan discreetly adjusted his carbine with one spaded hand, all the while staring into the very soul of the Jeedai, awaiting her next move.

Cora nodded. It had been rather anticlimactic. It wasn't all that bad, all considered. Though she imagined those guys hadn't gotten too far and might be a problem for her later in the night. Not that she particularly wanted to deal with that. She was just going to have to if it came to that. For now she sighed, and motioned to the barkeep for another drink.

"I suppose so." For a moment she eyed the offered cigarette pack, "Sure, thanks." Finally spoken as she took one. Liting the cigarette she took a deep drag. Her attention turned to the new guy on the block as he came in. A Trandoshan, truth be told Cora hadn't seem many of those running about but gave a shrug, returning to her drink. It wasn't her business as he seemed to irritated the new young lady in the bar. Wasn't her problem unless the issue was forced and she was dragged into some barfight. Which she wasn't eager for after the last events.

Naamah Aesham

Redemption is the path, not the destination

The unknown woman and a bipedal lizard were having a staring contest. Undoubtedly it was very important. Naamah continued smoking her cigarette with an air of indifference permeating her, though she still kept her hand close to her blaster. As everyone knew, all Trandoshans were slavers. Racist? Well, yes, she was racist, but that did not make it any less true! Their economy must be a mess. But none of this was her problem.

Kixi kept looking at Vinskk straight in the eye for at least another 30 seconds. By now everyone at the bar had become silent. Everybody except the beard man Jedi seemed startled in disbelief that this young woman, Jedi or not Jedi would dare challenge or provoke a trandoshan, let alone one already in a menacing mood. "I am of peace"' she said once again. "I wish not challenge you, nor anyone else for that matter. I carry the weapon of a Jedi, the Force my ally is, but I pledge no alligence to the Jedi Order, the one I assume you like not". Her Basic came across broken at times as she was actually speaking in her natural tongue, whilst her universal translator was doing all what appeared to be an almost seeminglyless translation. "Therefore not am I your enemy, nor do I wish to be it", she continued. "In fact as a gesture to my sincerity, allow me to pay for your next drink?".

She continued to look Vinskk in the eye. Aware that if he wasn't ready to peacefully back down, if he suddenly were to try pull out his blaster or leap at her, she wasn't going to go for her lightsabre as the trandoshan expected her to. No instead she would use the Force to push him back and hurl him back. Kixi knew that if she were less predictable, that it may give her an edge. Assuming the trandoshan would assume she would go for her lightsabre first that was. She also had to avoid killing at all cost. The other Jedi Lok had not long ago demonstrated just how important this was for the Jedi way. Kixi hoped he would accept that drink on her as she kept her firm gaze on Vinskk.

Naamah Aesham

Redemption is the path, not the destination
For her part, Naamah was not even remotely startled about [member="Kixi Rajki"], though she obviously did not know the woman's name, challenging the Trandoshan. She just, to put it bluntly, did not even remotely give a damn. If they got into a fight, it was not her problem. Besides, after you'd faced Klaxxi lizards did not rate that super high on the threat scala. So she kept smoking her cigarette and drinking her whiskey. "So, you got any plans for later?" she casually asked [member="Cora Passek"] after taking another sip from her bottle.

Vinskk saw many things at that moment. He saw the Jeedai's heat signature go down, almost as if she was going to sleep and her body was shutting down for the night. Not good, Vinskk thought to himself. Jeedai usually calm themselves when about to use the Force. He also noted the way most of the bar silently stared at the scene going on. The Trandoshan pondered his options. On one claw, he wanted to beat that woman until she was unrecognizable, then sell her to the highest bidder. But, on the other claw, the Jeedai would not go down without a large fight, and he was not equipped to do that right now, carrying only his carbine and a pair of stun cuffs. Plus, if her friends got involved in this as well, it wouldn't turn out well for Vinskk. So instead of foolhardily charging in a battle he had no chance of winning, the Trandoshan swallowed most of his aggression and spat on the floor, then turned back to his drink, a third glass of Juma. After a swig he turned back to the woman and said, in his native tongue of Dosha, Humansss...there is no honor in killing them, even if the Human is a Jeedai. Only sport and pleasure in the kill. That is why Vinskk does not tear you to shreds with bare claws. Vinskk has had his fill of death for one evening. Pray to the Force that Vinskk does not change his mind." With that last sentence Vinskk spat again, this time the wad flying a good distance to it's target, hitting the woman's shoe, a mess of mucous and some half-eaten grubs he regurgitated. Vinskk clicked and hissed at the Human's expression before turning back to his drink, still keeping an eye on her and her friends in case they did try something...

Kixi was a Jedi of the light side. Anger would only lead to to dark side. She momentarily looked at the mucous on her shoe, courtesy of the Trandoshan. She looked up, starred long and hard into his lizard eyes. She could attack him now and end him here and there, she didn't like the lizard type anyway. Recently she had waged a war against a similar race back home, and although her human Coalition of planets stood victorious in the end, she had been criticised and accused of mass genocide by many that opposed her and her warring House that she severed. She decided the better of it in the end. Her overall condition was deteriorating due to lack of sleep. If she attacked and fell short of her guard, the Trandoshan could easily rip her apart with his fiery claws. No she decided to back down in the end, sit down and order another whisky.

Cora only lifted a brow as she glanced between the Naamah, Revamp and Kixi. Taking a heavy drag on the cigarrette she then sighed. It was always one step from disaster in bars like this. The woman gave a shake of her head, mostly ignoring the human Jedi, and the Trandoshan. They just weren't her problem as far as she was concerned. "Eh, not really. I just wanted a good drink. Though I imagine the trip home may get 'interesting'." She said, making air-quotes with her fingers on the last word to emphasize her point. "Got those pissed off guys that left earlier that I imagine are still hanging around out there for me." She said with a shrug. "Such is my life, I guess. What about you?"

The Trandoshan hissed at the Jeedai's hesitancy and indecisiveness before draining his drink again, slamming his claw down on the bar for another refill. His mind was quickly turning to it's naturally belligerent state as he nearly skewered the bartender's shaking hand reaching for his drink, drawing a large yelp and blood. Vinskk raised his glass up, but then thought twice of it and instead licked the drops of blood off of his middle claw of his right hand, then downing half of his juma. "Human tastes like bantha poodoo, like all in Human's species." The bartender grew pale and stumbled away, nearly falling on his back. Vinskk shook his head and cackled. Let's see how the Jeedai responded to this...

Kixi pretended to ignore the Trandoshan. She could sense his thoughts through the Force. He was tring to provoke her into a fight. Kixi wasn't going to give him that satisfaction just yet. "Damn lizard creature, I've had enough run into their type", she muttered to herself. She turned to the barkeep, "You ok there. Want me to take a look at that hand? I have medical stuff aboard my ship if it needs attention". She really didn't want to fight this Trandoshan. Also she could sense danger nearby. Those men that had attacked Cora were still nearby, undoubtedly waylaying for her for when she leaves the bar. Kixi could sense that Cora couldn't care less about her situation with the Trandoshan either, however she couldn't help but worry for her well being. Afterall that was a Jedi trait. She thought to herself, perhaps she should just leave soon. Before the Trandoshan ends up getting the best of her and perhaps deal with those men once and for all before they have a chance to get to Cora. Kixi's starship's repairs should soon be complete thus her time at this forsaken planet limited. She waited for the barkeep to respond to her call for medical assistance.

Naamah Aesham

Redemption is the path, not the destination
[member="Cora Passek"]

Naamah remained indifferent to whatever was going on between the woman and the Trandoshan. She did not doubt that the thugs who had tried to attack Cora earlier were still out there, but that did not concern her much. Both she and the Angel with a Shotgun had dealt with a lot worse and thus did not need Jedi to swoop in and save them.

She took a heavy drag from her cigarette. "Haven't got much in terms of plans, either. I've been...well, let's just say there's some stuff I've been trying to get away from." Like, you know, hell. Splendid place. "You want some company going back home? I guess those fellas are still waiting somewhere, but it's not like useless thrash like that takes effort or skill to kill. And I can provide 'company' beyond that if you get my drift." Clearly she was not feeling particularly subtle. The woman exhaled, releasing the smoke held inside her lungs.

Vinskk blinked curiously at the Jeedai, disgusted and intrigued at the same time. Her unwillingness to fight, almost nonexistent in the aggressive Trandoshan culture, was weakness, but at the same time was strength. She had the will and the weakness to hold herself back. Intriguing. Vinskk would never truly understand non-Trandoshans and their peculiar ways. It was almost as if-wait. There was someone else in his head. It was the Jeedai, attempting to read his mind. Vinskk used all of his willpower to fight the probing his mind was recieving while snarling, "Get out of Vinskk's head, Jeedai!"

The Trandoshan aware of Kixi's mind probing yelled in protest as he slammed his fist on the bar. Kixi smirked at his sheer frustration and anger. "Good she thought". She also found his sheer thought that he found her unwilling to fight amusing. "If only he really knew me and what I'm really capable of", she thought to herself. Her smirking changing into laughter. And then more laughter. Suddenly she felt the funny side to this potentially dangerous situation she had gotten herself into.

[member="Revamp"], [member="Lok Jorunn"], [member="Daniel Tresk"], [member="Naamah Aesham"], [member="Chandelle Immelmann"], [member="Cora Passek"]

The Trandoshan noted the laughter. Was this Human insane? To provoke a Trandoshan, a race known to be able to stand toe to toe with bruisers like Wookiees, was suicide for nearly every species. "The time spent in books and playing with ceremonial toys has damaged your brain, Jeedai. Only a fool would challenge a Trandoshan to a Trandoshan's own game." He eased up externally, and started playing pazaak in his mind, an old trick taught to him by his father to evade his true thoughts coming to surface. Subconsciously, however, Vinskk was thinking about sneaking a shot at her while she was unprepared, laughing about the whole ordeal and expecting him to do nothing. Or should he rush her? Vinskk was capable of lightening fast movement thanks to his cold blooded nature. What to do, he thought as he sipped his juma, clicking with the Human's laughter as well, all the more to confuse her. He waited to read her next actions as he drained his 4th drink, calmly ordering another one, while subconsciously boiling, nearly ready to explode with anger held under a nearly flawless facade.

Kixi could clearly sense Vinskk's anger. The rage building up, the will to attack his enemy. "Good", she thought to herself. She also now knew his name as he had said it when he demanded her out of his head. "You will sit down Vinskk, you will sit and you will remain calm", Kixi waived her hand trying to persuade him with the Force. "You will keep sitting down in silence until I have left the premises", she continued. She could feel the Trandoshan trying to resist her. Her being able to keep this up was certainly becoming a challenge. The Trandoshan was overall stronger than she had anticipated.

And with that Kixi quickly got up from her seat. "Time to go", passed her mind. She was simply in no condition to fight any formidable opponent at this time which the Trandoshan certainly made. She turned off her universal translator, signalled her comm unit to her orbiting starship,"Commander do you have a fix on my position", she quickly said in her native tongue. Her comm unit squeaked, "Yes Colonel Rajki", another voice responded. "Good, standby for emergency transport on my command". Kixi quickly looked at the Trandoshan as she began heading for the door, adrenaline pumping, Force awareness on high alert.

Vinskk nearly bolted up as the Jeedai left the cantina, claw on his now unholstered carbine, hissing and clicking a storm of curses. The Human almost got him. Almost. But now she was escaping, fleeing. But the Trandoshan knew how to get his prey back. He took out a comlink and remotely prepared the engines for flight, then casually reached over the bar after returning the comlink to his pocket and grabbed the bartender by the throat, pulling him towards his leather jumpsuit. The man sputtered for breath and breathed out, "What...whaaaatryadoin?" Vinskk, one claw holding the man and the other ready with his gun, said, "Vinskk has lost something here today. Lost chance of honorable fight, of another point for the Scorekeeper. Vinskk will make up for difference now. You are coming with Trandoshan." He then began to make his way towards the exit, cautious of any heroes trying to stop him. The Jeedai might come back, and he could use the Human writhing in his grip as bait and as a liability. Even if she didn't come back, he could still sell the Human to a spice mine for a quick couple of credits. It was a win win situation for the Trandoshan either way as he got closer to the exit, or so he thought, anyway...

Kixi suddenly stopped as the situation had suddenly turned against her. She could keep running, but the Trandoshan had taken a hostage. As a Jedi, Kixi was obliged to intervene. Even by the rules of engagement chartered under the Sajnen Confederate back home. She turned with sheer speed, ignited her lightsabre ready for battle. "Let go of her now you alien scumbag" she yelled. Anger and fury building inside her. The Trandoshan showed no intention of doing any such thing. He only growled in anger, eager to fight and kill his human hostage if need be. "Now!", she was on the edge of tapping into the dark side, something she didn't want to do. Her involvement in a previous war with similar lizard like creatures only helped fuel her hate towards the Trandoshan further. And suddenly the Trandoshan began to gurgle. Kixi had a Force grip on his neck, it only lasted a few seconds, but enough to temporarily release his grip on his hostage which allowed Kixi to then use a Force pull to throw her free from the Trandoshan. Kixi starred at Vinskk. Her eyes full of pure hatred.

[member="Revamp"], [member="Lok Jorunn"], [member="Daniel Tresk"], [member="Naamah Aesham"], [member="Chandelle Immelmann"], [member="Cora Passek"]

The Trandoshan choked for breath. He felt his grip slacken on the hostage, and then ceased to feel any grip at all as she flew towards the Jedi. He had heard of the techniques used by Force sensitives, but never seen them in action until now. Suddenly, the grip was released and Vinskk was on his knees, gasping for breath. He looked up at the prey turned predator, humiliated at the way things had turned so quickly. Was that rage in her eyes and voice? He didn't understand. Jeedai were not supposed to get angry. "Human is no Jeedai...", he hissed out lightly, throat still throbbing from the grip he received. The Trandoshan then pulled his body up from the dirty floor of the cantina and clicked weakly at the woman in front of him. There was no way he was going to escape this now. The Jeedai would most likely demand satisfaction of some sort, being in either his arrest or death. The Trandoshan stood there, anticipating the Jeedai's next move.

Kixi starred at her opponent. Her breaths heavy, but slow. "I wanted to be civilised about this, but noooooooo, you had to make this ever so difficult didn't you Vinskk", she now addressed the Trandoshan by his first name in what was a poor attempt at sarcasm. Then suddenly she felt cold, alone, and guilt. Memories flooded her head. She could hear the cries of thousands upon thousands of voices, the souls destroyed of the invaders who had occupied her birth home. Screaming as they fled in terror, only to be pursued by the defenders unleashing a deadly virus with no remorse committing mass genicide as they chased them to to the ends of the galaxy. "All for the glory of the House", a voice echoed in her mind. Her own voice from a past not long ago she wanted to forget. To kill this Trandoshan now that he has been defeated, would be repeating the same act, even if he is just one. "One or millions, the intent will still be the same", she thought. "No I have a better proposition she thought to her self".

She looked down at Vinskk, turned off her lightsabre and holstered it. "We can be civilised Vinskk, we can be". She paused for a moment as she spoke slowly and the hate in her eyes disappearing. "You have proven your worth to me. Indeed worthy to bring glory to the House of Sunrider. Indeed a formidable warrior you are. I wish not to kill you. No I will not do that. Instead I make you an offer. My crew and I are alone in this galaxy, we have important missions ahead of us and can use someone like you. I will accomodate you well, and make sure you are treated with the upper most respect, and of course paid well." She paused and then stretched an arm and hand to him. "I am
Kixi Rajki, first prime of House Sunrider, Join me", she half smiled at him, standing tall and firm, appearing ever so menacing than before waiting for Vinnskk to respond.

The Trandoshan cocked his head ever so slightly, confused. Did he hear that right? She was...sparing him? Vinskk's eyes widened in horror at what this implied. No! No, this is all wrong! Not to the Jeedai, that Human weakling! But...she bested him. His life was forfeit to the Scorekeeper. All of his points, gone! He could only regain it by two ways, either slaying the Jeedai, highly unlikely....or....or....
By pledging a life debt.
Vinskk, accepting his defeat, kneeled before Kixi, looking her dead in the eyes, growling out through clenched teeth, "Vinskk pledges his life to you, Human, to give you Trandoshan's life in exhange for sparing Trandoshan. Vinskk will protect you and those you care for until the day Vinskk dies. Vinskk will serve you in all ways possible. Vinskk's life is forfeit to Vinskk, now belonging to merciful Jeedai." His eyes grew sad, almost pitifully so. He remained kneeled in front of the Jeedai, staring at the dusty floor, letting the meaning of his oath sink in for her, self-hate and rage bridling and building against himself.
