As it turned out, the blasts were coming from two locations. Both were easily accessible, but one was closer: he just had to go up the building he was next to. Stairs, four levels up. Actually, the position was a very good one for the sniper, high enough and direct enough to have the targets silhouetted by the fire. They couldn't move out of cover without the sniper seeing it, and taking some shots.

As it turned out, the window the sniper was at was an apartment...an occupied one. Audren could feel the three other lives inside and listened at the door for a minute before going in. It was clear the sniper had threatened them, and he could sense their fear. However, the Jedi could also sense a growing desperation and anger in the male, one that typically meant he was going to do something stupid.

"Don't do it, he said he'd let us go if we just stayed quiet."

"We saw his face, Amaya. And you saw the he way he looked at you and Myra. None of us will survive, though she might live a little longer. I won't have that for either of you. Even if it means dying."

With those words, the man's anger and desperation hardened into resolve, and the Master could detect the beginnings of motion. Amaya would be the woman then, and Myra the younger girl. A father protecting his family. But he wouldn't have to die. The Sephi slid the door open with quiet effort, finding three pairs of eyes staring at him as a result. He put a finger to his lips to keep them quiet, then motioned for them to stay down as he prowled towards the window in one of the bedrooms. It could have been easy, done without loss of life, but the unfortunate sniper was looking over his shoulder when Audren walked in. Not directly at the Jedi, at some sparkling thing on the dresser, but he saw the newcomer out of the corner of his eye. It was his bad luck that he turned and brought the blaster up, the two bolts he shot meeting the suddenly-active lightsaber blade and being redirected right back at him.

One down, one more to go. Judging by the muzzle flash, the second one had been moving in an effort to shoot behind the cover of the vehicles. He wasn't quite there yet, if the Sephi's judgment was correct, but he didn't intend to let him get that far. The movement had put him barely within the firing zone of the window, and the elfin Jedi was able to drop him in three shots. By the time Audren had made his way down to the base level, the security team was beginning to poke their heads up given the lack of incoming blaster fire. They were so nervous that each pretty much exhausted their blaster's power cells shooting at him. He was carrying the blaster rifle at first, so it was understandable, but it became less understandable when he dropped that and blurred into motion to deflect the bolts with his lightsaber. Once their shots stopped coming, he pretty much growled at them before heading off.

"Take care of that fire, and watch who you're shooting at from now on."

[ I got you covered Rogue Leader! ] Choli chirped out, keeping her starfighter right on the bogey in question. The beep, beep, beep of the cross hairs meeting up in her HUD would alert her to how close she was to get a lock.

At this distance, it wouldn't be good to use a proton torpedo. Too close to Allycat. Biting her lower lip, Choli kept up her concentration. Her target panned on a sharp roll of pitch, forcing Choli to follow.

As the crosshairs came to a lock on the bogey, the young Rogue pilot sent a stream of laser fire straight at her target.

The terrorist activities here on Chandrila would only serve to confirm with Saffron that they would need to increase security on their BioDomes. Perhaps the installation of a defensive shield on top of the normal protective dome would be best?

They had a similar layout for Corellia, although that had more to do with keeping the toxic air away from the residence an Biodome. However, one couldn't stop expanding or considering new technology to make things easier and protect Arceneau Trade employees. Mara Tibx was already underway at taking over the division on teraforming and planet reconstruction. Setting up defenses would be part of that streamlining.

For now, all Saffron would do is plan accordingly.

Or try to while an insistent hum was trying to take her out of her concentration.

It wasn't that Ovmar didn't take the situation seriously, because obviously he did. Very serious. Part of it reminded him of the various operations he himself had run and counter-ran in the past. That was the thing though, you can only encounter so much destruction and death before you are just a touch dulled by the edges of it.

He left the wall he had been leaning on, his frame brushing past her and leaning into her. Just gently, just brushing, just trying to distract her a touch here and there.

"I am sure we could find someone else to manage this," Jared would say, his blue eyes studying the datafeeds pouring in with information about the situation.

Didn't look too good, though.

Didn't look good at all.

A small start came from the woman at Ovmar's voice. It likely was amusing to the former Lord of the Fringe, as the young blonde woman brought her hand up to her chest.

"Oh my goodness!" she managed to murmur out, eyes wide in surprise only to soften at the realization who had joined her.

"Lord Ovmar." Saffron began, shaking her head and blushing a bit at her small bout of unprofessionalism. "You gave me a start." she explained, rising to her feet to greet him.

The situation was not quite developing the way Zegg had initially planned; the extraction team had breached the vessel and Rogue Squadron was on its way to grind their way through the heavy shields that encapsulated the prison ship. The prisoners that sided with Brimhold had abandoned the bridge in panic, in search of their leader. Without him, they were but a aimless mob. Unfortunately, they would stumble upon the duo who just rescued Zonia from the clutches of a maniac. The odds were not in their favour; they were outnumbered two to one.

"Hey, you!" one of four prisoners shouted, pointing a blaster directly towards them, but still didn't pull the trigger -
"Where do you think you are going with our guest?"
The raspy voice reverbating against durasteel walls woke Zonia, dark eyes shooting open. The pain had subdued somewhat, mainly because it was substituted by a rush of adrenaline that made her alert of her surroundings. Survival instinct was probably the most powerful driving force in the universe, all things considered.
"Where's Zegg?" another one asked, quite surprised to see her alive.

In a matter of few moments, Kalranoos slipped her hand under the soldier's breastplate to pull out his blaster, completely guided by her instinct. She had never held a blaster in her hand, let alone fired it. But this was no time for pacifism. If her savior would simply drop her to the ground, he would still have no time to neutralize the threat. And the man who killed Zegg could not possibly shoot four targets at once before at least one of them shot back. But Zonia did not think, calculate. She just...acted.

Once the weapon was in her hand, she pointed it towards the prisoner most interested in Zegg's whereabouts and spent a microsecond aiming. The blaster bolt flew through the air and landed directly into his jugular vein on his neck. The man fell backwards, his body slamming against the floor a fraction of a second later. She was aiming for his head, but this would have to suffice. Who would've thought the Prakithan had it in her?

"Go frell yourself." Zonia hissed through her teeth, feeling a strange wave of satisfaction in executing a person who was perfectly fine with letting a deranged criminal put her through a lengthy, extremely painful torture.

It was indeed amusing to him as [member="Saffron"] got startled by his sudden appearance.

So the cards do not tell all, Ovmar thought to himself, before filing it away for later observation. A hand rose quickly, halting her in her tracks and then he shook his head for good measure.

"Oh, no need to stand on my account, my dear." Jared smoothly interjected, before his eyes went back to the screen. "I was in the neighborhood and figured I'd step by."

That same hand went to scratch his chin, eyebrow rising inquisitively.

"Seems like my timing ain't exactly pretty. How's it going there?"

Oh, he would still try to peel her away from this once he got a better understanding of what the situation entailed. But in the meanwhile it was just polite to inquire on what was happening - that was probably the only reason Jared asked, though who could know with a man like Ovmar?

They cards may not tell all ,but they also required focus and for them to be used. Saffron was no charlatan, and her focus was narrowed to a specific niche. None the less, it was welcomed surprise.

A broad grin spread across the blonde's face, "It is none the less a pleasant surprise, considering circumstances." how he managed to slip in was a mystery. But he was a former Lord of the Fringe. In that he had many advantages over others. Slipping in during a terrorist attack was likely no issue whatsover.

"We are in the midst of a lockdown. I wanted to assure the safety of all employees." she would explain.

When the newly formed party had left the grisly scene of the torture chamber, and took flight down the fluted corridors caked in blood, Gideon's tactical visor scoured their surroundings. Every shadowed alcove they had passed was highlighted in ochre warning symbols, projecting a possible ambush site with various threat variables attached as an addendum. Possible outfitting and armament were included in the tactical overlay, leaving the Soldier with a disappointed grimace as his augmented eyes ran over the listing. The convicts he had torn apart before, were armed with nothing more than simple weapons, blades and stolen pistols - but as they had to pass through the more populated sections to reach their destination - a heavier load-out was to be expected. Close quarter weapons, along with the possibility of salvaged riot gear from the slain wardens wouldn't bode well for the injured woman he now carried.

Nevertheless, with his eyes and ears held at the ready and supplemented by the Corellian Convict, it was unlikely that they'd ru- An audible chime rang within his ears as nearly a dozen targeting reticles materialized on his visor. It was an ambush. They had caught the party unawares by traversing down one of the adjacent corridors, and surprisingly enough the formerly unconscious package had virtually risen from her comatose state to slay those that stood in her path with his pistol. While he would normally be surprised at such a fortuitous sequence of events, Gideon merely pushed aside all thoughts of astonishment and had taken the initiative. He ducked into cover, swiftly tossing the woman from his arms and slinging her over his shoulder - no doubt causing her some discomfort in the process.

Bereft of her covering and exposed to the stale recycled air, the Major knew that he'd catch heat from High Command for baring the woman's behind so callously, but did little to seem concerned about her dignity. It was her life that mattered in the end, and he'd take whatever reprimands would come his way. Slipping a gauntleted finger into the trigger guard of the weapon that the former Stormtrooper swore not to use within such a pressurized environment, as the woman still clutched his blaster pistol behind his person, Gideon withdrew the Dissuader and sighted down the length of the barrel. As he leaned out from cover, making sure to have the woman's backside protected by the fluted vanes protruding from the bulkhead, his finger pulled back on the firing mechanism in rapid succession. Within seconds, he had emptied the clip and dropped the escaped convicts with well-placed shots in the center of their mass. Their bodies crumpled to the deck and lay in silent repose, billowing contrails of acidic smoke trailing from the slowly widening cavities in their chests.

With the immediate threats neutralized, the steel-blue clad Balmorran swiveled his head towards the Corellian Convict, activating his external vocbaulator scant moments later.

"We need to keep moving," He knew that the statement would point him out as being obvious, but never the less, as the sound of thundering boot steps drowned out the gurgling cries of the dead and dying, Gideon felt that it needed to be said. Ejecting the spent cartridge from his pistol, the Soldier slid his empty weapon into the only place he knew where it would stay put whilst he grabbed another mag. Thankfully, she was unlikely to protest to the sudden introduction of cold steel between her thighs, but as the data would be recovered from the automated security systems when this crisis was over, he was - again - going to hear about this.

Changing over from his external vocabulator to the squad-centric comms, Gideon opened a channel to his second in command telling him that the plans had changed. They were coming in hot, and with the rampant onset of heavier armed convicts than they had expected - the mission was no longer search and destroy. It'd be asset denial. Whilst he silently spoke within the bounds of his helm, the Soldier busied his hands with extracting another magazine from his combat webbing and making sure that his grip upon the package didn't slip. Granted, having grabbed the fleshiest portion of her body, it was proving to be a little harder than he had first imagined. But, as he slammed the clip home, and withdrew his secondary sidearm from its temporary sheath, the Balmorran figured that this wouldn’t be a story he’d tell his Myrmidons, let alone High Command when they debriefed him.

With his pistol in hand, the Major tapped the end of his barrel on the bulkhead and forcibly racked the gun’s slide. Hearing the satisfying click resonate throughout the now silent corridor, Gideon slid the weapon back onto his mag-locked thigh plate and readied himself for the journey ahead. It wasn’t until several minutes had passed on his mission chronometer, that the trio had entered the sundered Hangar bay. As his augmented eyes had swept through the ruined technological cavern, he had noted that their point of entry was sealed by a force field - one generated by the vessel’s automatic defense systems. Now within reach of their extraction point, the former Stormtrooper had silently signaled his men to return to the gunship and that they had a limited amount of time in which to do so. Thus, as the Order had been given, it was time for him to complete his new primary objective. Rapping his armored knuckle on the outer hull of the gunship, Gideon waited as the yawning maw of darkened gray steel lowered to the rubble-strewn flight deck, bathing the surrounding area in a crimson light.

Ushering the Corellian Convict inside, Gideon himself had entered soon after with the wounded package in tow. Now, all that remained for them to do was to blast their way out of this hellhole, but before such an event could take place - there was one small matter that needed to be taken care of first. Pushing the woman from his shoulders and placing her down in one of the many crash couches, the Major roused himself from the iron grating and removed a fire suppression blanket so that the woman would be able to keep her dignity for the road ahead. At least better than the small scraps that had done nothing more than leave little to the imagination. When the deed was done, the Soldier reached up towards his helmet and disengaged the pressurized seals with a twist. Pulling the steel-blue helm from his crown, he placed its bulk behind the cargo netting from where he had removed the crinkling foil-backed blanket. Now a King without a Crown, Gideon knelt before the package and let his silvered blue eyes examine her wound. The bonding had held, but it wouldn’t last for much longer. The pressure of arterial blood would tear the fibrous walls apart, causing to her to lose whatever remained of her blood in a torrential flood of crimson water.

“You’re going to be alright, Ma'am,” He said with a confident smile. “The Myrmidon’s have you now.”

His blues went back to the screen for a moment.

Data flowed and explained the situation a touch here, there. When you are in the middle of the insertion you don't realize just how close things can really get - looking at the thing, it even surprised Ovmar that he managed to slip in as easily as he had, but the Force was strong with him at times... that gave him an edge.

Especially when people weren't expecting him.

And few did these days, considering he wasn't as active in the galactic scene.

"Couldn't stay away, darlin'" Ovmar drawled, while studying the information. In truth the Lord was stalling while pondering if he should do what he was about to do; smart thing was... well, he hadn't ever been the smart man in these situations.

"How can I help?"

And just like that he stepped into the hornet's nest. Like the good ol' days.

Saffron gave Jared a smile.

"Well for now... there isn't much." she said honestly. However, word seem to spread from the holonews that the Alliance was making headway. A rise of her eyebrows came.

"Seems like the Alliance has it all under control." the blonde would state. "Beyond that, there isn't much we can do other than simply wait until it is safe." turning to the former Lord of the Fringe, she gave him a half smile.

"Unless you would like to aid in my research of shields?" she tossed back.

Objective 2: Rescue and Capture the hostages and the self proclaimed, Darth Skuggsa from the Crystal Canyons.
Location: Hanna City, Primary Space Port.

Chaal gathered his gear up as he exited the freighter he took to arrive. This would be his first mission for the Alliance and he tried to look professional. He wore a nicer suit of light body armor under his normal attire and bought himself two nice new blaster pistols to commemorate his first solo job as a professional. He had been debriefed via telecom on his ride over but the mission seemed simple enough. Kill a raving lunatic "Sith". Save people. Get payed. An Alliance planet would be a much more suitable and safe place for his mother to live, and the alliance seemed like decent enough people. Still, nervous butterflies filled his chest. He had to focus on the task at hand, and that was taking down this Darth Skuggsa. He set the co-ordinates for the Crystal Canyons and rented a speeder bike to take him to the outskirts of the Canyons where he could begin his search.

"And so the hunt begins." Chaal thought to himself as he sped off towards the Canyons in hopes of catching his first mark.
