The Blademaster and The Assassin (Darth Ferus)

Vi'kas had thought long and hard on this, which even involved meditating on it. He answered, "I have several reason for my choice. Juyo is completely enveloping yourself in the Dark Side, using strength in a frenzy to slaughter your opponent. I will be the master of both the force and my emotions, not the other way around. Vapaad is faster than Juyo, but also allows you to keep a clear mind while fighting. Juyo is too insecure for my liking, that is why I wish to learn Vapaad. I admit, I am part of the Dark Side, but I will not be totally drowned in it."
Vi'kas knew his new master really didn't like long answers, but he was adamant about his position on Vapaad.

"So you simply wish to control your rage? Very well, this is something I can teach. But to do so, I will start you on Juyo. It is far easier to learn, and once you get the basics of that down, I can move you to the Vapaad variant with ease. Understood?" The red man would stop his pacing, nodding once to [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"].

"Very well," said Vi'kas, "I am ready to learn." He pulled out his lightsaber and quickly ignited it, satisfied to see it was working again. Then, he re-sheathed it and waited for his lesson to begin.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

Ferus would pull free his golden saber, igniting it with a snap hiss as he nodded to [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]. "First lesson is simple. Attack. You see an opening, attack. You see a slip up, you attack. You start a fight, you attack right off the bat. You don't see an opening, you attack. You are an unstoppable force moving to attack and break through what ever stands in your way. There is no defense, just pure offense, understood?"

Vi'kas nodded and ignited his own emerald-green lightsaber. He jumped into the air, and brought his saber down in and overhand blow, meant to split his enemy in half. As he did this, he stuck out his left leg for a dropkick in the stomach.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

Flicking his saber up, the red man would catch [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"] on his own blade. At the same time however, he slide himself to the right, simply to let the boy go past him, and to avoid the kick. His free left hand would come up to hit the back of Vi'kas' neck as he went by, a faint smile on his own lips. Ferus loved fighting.

Vi'kas growled in pain as he felt something hit the back of his neck. He sprung to his feet and turned around, eying his opponent carefully. He charged at his opponent, executing a diagonal slash towards the man's legs. At the last second, he pulled up, making the blade go in a "U" shape, threatening to cut off the man's legs.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

With a twist, the red man would pull his left leg away from [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]'s strike, yet at the same time he would leave his right leg there. Why? Well. For the same reason he caught the boys saber with his metallic hand. The leg was made the same way as his arm, durasteel coating, cortosis ore lining underneath. Yet as he shifted backwards, he put all of his weight on the right leg, and brought around his right hand. The saber in it was off now, and he went to punch Vi'kas in the face.

Vi'kas wasn't overly surprised that his master had deactivated his lightsaber yet again. He twisted his body to the side, and watched as the fist rushed past his face. He remembered his time on Rattatak, and some skills he had picked up there. He grabbed his opponent's arm and heaved it in the direction it was going, using its momentum against it. Guessing his master would be off balance, Vi'kas used his leg to attempt to sweep his opponent's leg out from under him. By lifting his left leg off the ground, [member="Darth Ferus"] left himself vulnerable to a leg sweep like this.

A faint grin would form over the red mans face as he was dragged forward by [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]. Ferus had indeed opened himself to a leg sweep, and as his leg was kicked out from under him, he kept going forward. As if he had dived to the ground, the red man rolled upon landing against the cold ground, and with a twist of his waist he would once more turn to face the boy. Ferus was crouched now, holding his saber in a reverse grip as he activated the golden blade in it's short mode.

"You adapt quickly. This is good. But until your saber comes back on, perhaps it would be best to chat about what I see wrong."

"Nothing, actually. You get the basic premise, so there's not a whole lot I can say otherwise. For now, continue to practice assaulting one of the dummies here. Don't stop until you drop, y'know? Now is about building up the endurance to keep up with the physical demands these forms will demand."

With that, the Darth would offer a slight bow of his head. "This is all I will show you for now. Simply keep it up."

Vi'kas nodded his head, and turned around to look at the dummy behind him. He waited a few more minutes, then he ignited his lightsaber again. He viciously swung at it, channeling all the rage he had ever experienced, and pretended the dummy was responsible.

This practice continued for several minutes, and he began to feel the exhaustion eating away at him. Nonetheless, he continued his vigorous attack on the object, fueled by his hate. He could feel the corruption begin to invade him, so he suddenly stopped. He was determined to not let it overcome him, so he went to go get some fresh air.

A few minutes later, after he had some time to clear his mind of the overwhelming darkness, he got back to work. He drew his saber and hit the dummy with a flurry of attacks, concentrating on viscous speed. He executed the moves with deadly silence, except for the sounds of his blade hitting the dummy.

As he took a short break, he picked up one of the vibroswords that were laying on the ground, testing its weight in his hand. Then, he attacked the dummy again with both his saber and the vibrosword. After a while of practicing, he decided he liked the feel for it. After his practice session, he grabbed the sword and his lightsaber and headed back to his quarters. He has practiced a lot, and needed some rest.

Vi'kas woke up the next day, ready to train. Yesterday's session had been interesting, to say the least. He was eager to learn all he could, and become one of the most powerful Sith of all time. Many of his fellow Sith criticized him for wanting to learn Vapaad, but he didn't care. He felt it was Juyo perfected, and the Sith refused to accept it.

He walked down the path to the same training room they had used yesterday. Walking in, he was surprised the slight mess from the day before had been cleaned up and set back to normal. Even the spot where the sword he had taken was supposed to be was now filled with another blade. Waiting for his master to arrive, he began to warm up with his own two blades.

It wasn't long until Darth Ferus walked into the room, both hands clasped behind his back. He would let [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"] do his ting for a moment before clearing this throat. "I see you've kept this up for a while. Tell me, as it has been only a day, do you feel stronger?" As an actual question, there seemed to be a bit more to it. "I have noticed, however, your refusal to submit to the darkness of Juyo. Strong willed, aren't you?"

Vi'kas stopped what he was doing, and turned around to face his master. Though he had only been at it for a few minutes, he was already sweating. "Yes, I have begun to feel stronger. It's not a large change, hardly noticeable. But I feel stronger nonetheless. An attribute that will develop with time, no doubt. And I do not wish to be controlled by anybody or anything, that is why I refuse to submit to Juyo." He placed his vibroblade across the top of the rack, hough there was barely room. He clipped his saber back onto his belt, then began to do push-ups on the floor.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

There was a moment in which Ferus opened his mouth to respond to [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"], but that quickly faded as the man dropped down and began push ups. Push ups. A confused brow would take over the red mans features as he closed his mouth, just watching for a moment. What in the world was he doing? Reaching up a hand, he would go to use the Force to bring Vi'kas back up to his feet, still with his brow raised.

"Do you want another lesson or do you want to do push ups?"

Vi'kas jumped back to his feet, with a half-confused half-embarrassed look on his face. "Sorry, master. I'm just trying to to make myself stronger, so I can successfully stay up to par with the demands of Vapaad. What shall I learn today?" More than anything, Vi'kas loved to learn and train. He felt as if though every moment he trained, he grew more powerful.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Applying the force to your blows. Making you stronger, faster. We're going to augment your body." A faint smirk formed over his face at [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]'s embarrassment. Ferus wasn't a heartless Sith, but to train those at Vi'kas's level he needed to be.. Tougher. Slipping his hands behind his back, he would nod once. "You can use the Force, I've seen that already. Do you understand what you mean?"
