The Blademaster and The Assassin (Darth Ferus)

Vi'kas took a moment to think about his master's works, thinking over it in his head. After he thought he had a satisfactory answer, he said, "I believe I know what you mean. I'm going to boost my natural attributes through the force. I'll do this in combination with natural physical enhancement." He added the last thought himself, as he didn't want to have to rely on the force for such things all the time.

"While you're want to make sure you can fight without the force is admirable, don't limit yourself." A nod, and he would turn his head to the room itself, pondering. But, and it wouldn't take long for him to do so, he would reach out to one of the weapon racks, and lifted it up. "Catch." With a delightful grin he would throw the rather heavy weapon rack at [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"], knowing full well people did their best when their life was at stake.

Vi'kas knew that the rack could very well kill him. His master undoubtedly wanted him to catch the rack or something, but the young Sith wasn't stupid. If he failed to catch it, he would die, and that was not a risk he was willing to take. He jumped into the air, landing on the flying rack He propelled himself off of the rack, and landed a few feet in front of the Zabrak, aware that he may try to attack him.

"Part of me figured you'd jump out of the way." The Darth would lower his arm, an almost hurt expression on his face as he looked to [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]. "I did say to catch right? It's not like I was jsut gonna drop it on you. Give you a little bit of help before I let the full weight hit you. Ah well, I suppose we'll have to try something else." Bringing up his arm again, he would swing the limb down at Vi'kas. At first, nothing. Then a sudden pressure would begin to build on the boys form, trying to force him to the ground. "Simple training session. Don't fall to your knees as I increase the pressure on your shoulders. Let yourself become a conduit of the Force to strengthen yourself, or try to hold out with just your raw power. Either's fine by me."

The problem was, Vi'kas didn't necessarily know how to use the force in this manner. He felt the weight press down on him, and he pushed right back at it. He felt his muscles burning, but through his resolve, he would not give in. He managed to use a little telekinesis to help him with his burden, but didn't know how to increase his strength with the force. He lifted with all his might, refusing to give in. Suddenly, as his strength was beginning to fail fail, he felt a quick surge of strength. It only lasted a few seconds, but he could feel the force flowing through him. Then, as quickly as it had come, his boost failed him. He was forced into a squatting position, nearly passing out from the strain.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

A frown formed over the red mans face as he lessened the pressure. "You know, you're rather limited when it comes to the force. Stop thinking it as an outside group. It's a part of you. Feel it flow through your limbs and will it to make you stronger. Will it to do as you do, aye?"

[member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]

Vi'kas did as he was instructed. He imagined if the force were electricity; and he was the wire it was flowing through. He felt thee nene thy rush through him, and he directed it to his muscles. He imagined the force acting almost like an aura around him, boosting all of his attributes. He felt the sudden relief as his strength increased, and he lifted the invisible barrier with ease, returning to a full standing position.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Good,very good." A grin formed over the red mans face as @Vi'kas Mirtis forced himself up, but it wasn't a sadistic one. "You're quick to understand." Lowering his hand, he would let Vi'kas stand on his own again. "Strong of heart, no?"

Vi'kas was pleased with himself, but did not let it show. His Massassi brothers had taught him to be humble long ago, a lesson that he abided by to this day. He said to his Master, "I am motivated to succeed in my endeavours, that is why I am here. The more I learn, the more powerful I become." He stretched out his body; he could already feel the soreness begin to set in. Not that it would stop, or even impede him.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Very true. Yet.. Why do you pick the aggression form? Why not another? Many use forms such as Makashi or Ataru, if only for their defense. Whether you use Juyo or Vapaad, you won't have a real defense, and you will constantly be on the attack." Once more folding his arms behind his back Darth Ferus would watch [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"], waiting for an answer.

"I am a strong believe in the the phrase "The best defense is a good offense." Vapaad is an aggressive style that can use an opponent's emotions against them, while keeping your emotions in check. Plus, you prove my point exactly. Vapaad is not a commonly used style, so not as many are adequately equipped to defend against it." Vi'kas had a small feeling that his master wasn't asking him this out of interest, but to gauge his overall personality.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"This is true. Hmm.." The red man went quiet for a moment, as if deep in thought. But he would quickly exit that, a grin forming as he nodded rather quickly at [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"]. "Very well. I shall teach you the bond you must make in order to use Vapaad. Be wary, however, as it's pull to bring you to the dark will be much stronger than that of Juyo." Vi'kas has proven his determination, and for now he would be rewarded. However, the grin on Darth Ferus's face suggested something else was at play.

Vi'kas had faced lots of opposition in his life. He had survived and thrived against all odds, and that was something he was proud of. He knew Vaapad would test him, and push him to the brinks of dark insanity. He relished in the challenge, eager to prove himself powerful. In his time, he had interacted with many people. He looked at his master's smirk, and realized something was going on that Vi'kas did not yet understand. An easy way to get at him would be to attempt to push him into the darkness while training in Vaapad. His master very well may want him to be enveloped by the dark side, something he would need to remain aware of. Acting casually, he said, "So, what shall you teach me today?"

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"The bond necessary to use Vapaad. A bond you make between yourself and your opponent, creating a loop filled with the love of battle. But be warned, a true Jedi will give you no power, as they do not tend to enjoy battle."

The grin faded as Ferus motioned for the boy to stand in the center of the room. He would not tell him the danger of falling.

Vi'kas drew his lightsaber and ignited the blade. As he walked towards the center of the room as instructed, he asked, "Is there any other emotions I may reflect into the loop. And is it possible to feed the loop with my own emotions, if the Jedi offer none?"

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"I have not tried any other emotion. You are welcome to do so yourself, but don't expect it to work. It's not that it would fail to strengthen you, but should it fail where you expected it to succeed, you may end up in more trouble than you can handle, aye?" With a wave of his hand however, he would motion for the saber to be put away. Sitting down himself, he would cross his legs similar to any Jedi. "This part will be more about concentration and sustaining the loop. Your saber will come in later." Blue eyes once more watched [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"] for a moment or two before the red man clapped his hands together.

"Ready?"

Confused, Vi'kas sheathed his blade. He didn't know how he was to train in Vaapad without a blade, but he was sure the Zabrak had a good reason for it. After all, he was a battlemaster of sorts, and knew much more about the subject than Vi'kas did. He mirrored his master's movement, and sat down on the floor. He closed his eyes, gathering himself. "I am ready to begin."

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"You already know how to use the force outside of your body, and within your own in the way of strength. Now, you will do something new. Feel my presence, see it, and latch your own onto it. Not so much you become a part of me, but feel my love for the fight, and make it apart of you and your own. Feed your enjoyment into the loop, and you will only make it grow." The Zabrak would go quiet after that, closing his own eyes as he would enter his own meditative state. For the sake of [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"] he would allow his enjoyment of battle fill his mind, to help make the first bond easy.

Vi'kas closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as he often did when a challenge was at hand. He had latched on to emotions before, but it was quite different. When he was on Cularin, he managed to infiltrate a battle mind between two lightsiders, and corrupted them through feeding them his hate. The situation was different, but he figured the idea was the same.

He shaped the force within him to form a sort of needle. He extended this needle, attaching it to his master. He could feel the Zabrak's emotions, but sorted through them until he found what he was searching for. He "borrowed" these feelings, putting them into a little ball that was visible only in his mind. He transferred his own feeling into this ball, clearing his mind. He reached out, touching the imaginary ball. It avoided his hand, but he managed to catch it. He could feel the emotions surging through it, fuel for him in combat. This ball would give him strength. Though, he wasn't sure how it would do this. He frowned, wondering how he'd use this ball.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Good, but don't condense my feelings. Let them flow through you, strengthen you. Just like how you used the Strength make this power a part of you." With his eyes now open the red man watched his apprentice. For just a couple days of learning, Vi'kas had shown so much potential. It brought a faint smile to Ferus's face. This boy would keep his promises.
