The Botany Bay

The blade was easy to dodge as well as the rock that was flung towards her. Though the tackle was something she should have expected but didnt. She was once again under Sasha. This time the princess took the liberty of expressing her birth right it seemed.

After her little speech Spencer call upon the force once more and flung a pile of dirt towards them both. She was getting tired of this girl constantly telling her she wasn't worth anything.

She moved to punch the girl in the stomach as the dirt flung towards them.

"You're not better than anyone! Those who are worth anything do not need to brag for they are satisfied with their lives! You a re unsatisfied therefore you are not better!"

"Stop."

An unyielding Force grip snatched each of the girls, and, once more, they found themselves separated and levitating.

"I expect both of you to have some respect for the paths you've chosen, and the teacher who has chosen you. The way you're fighting tells me neither of you understands how to fight like what you really are. If you want to learn grappling, real grappling, I'll teach you. If you want to learn to actually use a lightsabre, instead of just flailing around or trying to adapt solid-blade fencing like some effete know-it-all noble, I'll teach you. Right now I'm ashamed of both of you. I expect better combat from you. This is simply embarrassing."

Both lightsabres flew back to her hands.

"You've both failed. Rather spectacularly."

Sasha's face immediately brightened as Ashin spoke. "Yes Master," she peeped excitedly. "I'd very much like to learn." She struggled in the air to position facing Ashin Varanin. "I want to learn Master, I want to be the best." She thought about her fencing style, and fighting in general. There was alot of room for improvement. "One day I wish to be an Empress..."

Watching the levitating girl attempt to jog on air was one of the low points of Ashin's time as Sasha's Master. She levitated Sasha towards her, a temporary placation.

"Then you are going to need to sacrifice everything you own. Your wealth, your pride, your name. Do that, and I can make you great."

It was times like this that Spencer missed Phylis. She felt guilty she wasn't with the woman at this moment bonding like Sasha and Ashin. Spencer hung her head as she stared at the ground under her. She had disgraced both Ashin and Phylis -- both women who put a lot of time into making Spencer who she was today. Gritting her teeth she looked at Sasha with narrowed eyes. Her mind racing over what she really wanted to do -- she didn't want to rule the galaxy and she didn't want to be some great and powerful Jedi or Sith or whatever.

All Spencer wanted...was for the Galaxy to be saved and no one had to fight anymore. She didn't care what she had to do to get that even if it meant to fight against everyone till they got it through their thick skulls. Looking back at Ashin, she apologized.

"I'm sorry Ashin, that won't happen again. Following Sasha's example...you already know what I desire...can I be let down now?"

Ashin's Force grip shifted, becoming an invisible seat beneath Spencer. The seat descended until Spencer stood again on the ground. "Willingness to change. I like that. It's an essential lesson, essential to growth." She peered up into Sasha's eyes with a touch of a smirk. "Isn't it wonderful, Sasha, that Spencer is so quick to take ownership of her actions, reap their consequences?"

"I have no allusions. You took me for your apprentice for complete political reasons. You wanted access to my families wealth, prestige and power. You wanted our shipyards, designers, and industry firmly in your hands." Sasha bit her lower lip and stared over her. "Now you say you want me to give it up. My family of course will still honor the agreement no matter what I do." Contemplating she took in a deep breath. "Fine I will sacrifice everything I have to possess everything I don't." She stared into Ashin's eyes and added, "What will you sacrifice Master?"

Spencer sat and looked towards Sasha with a narrowed stare. She didn't like the way she would speak to Ashin even if it was a political relationship. There was a mutual understanding between a Master and an Apprentice. It was the base that built the bond that would forever connect the two to the force. Her voice was different as she spoke to Sasha.

"Despite the basis of you becoming Ashin's apprentice you shouldn't question her like you do. You need to learn respect...You'll get more out of people if you do."

Crossing her arms, she felt a ting jealousy towards Sasha. She didnt appreciate Ashin and Spencer knew she would appreciate the woman's teachings even more than the spoiled brat.

"It's possible you're beginning to understand that money, political influence and a big name are relatively unimportant. However, you have yet to grasp the last thing that needs to be sacrificed: Pride. The willingness to automatically place oneself above others, without foundation..."

She lowered Sasha to the ground.

"That's twice now you've questioned me. The next time you do, you'll learn the lessons you seek."

It came out as a threat.
