The Clockwork Rebellion: Dromund Kaas

Tal, ignited his light saber and looked around, they needed to get out of her, not stay an fight. " If we stay and fight we will die" Said Tal, as he looked at the droid infront of him, it was huge. Tal ran towards it using the force to enhance his speed and strength as he attempted to cut the one's legs out, managing to get one, the thing's wings kept it aloft though. It was funny, how now he was stuck fighting damn droids. He dodged an attempt to end his life there and then, he wanted to keep his distance as he ended away from the droid, he looked up curious what its next move would be.. the one legged droid amused him.

Emerging from his workshop with his new helmet under his arm, he summoned one of his droids and and asked for an update. Listening closely it made sense that those who could would be fleeing for the spaceports. Foolish of them really, couldn't they see the promise that this could pose for the evolution of the species?

Bah that was the way of the weak, not Daxton. The Sith Knight did not care for the possible danger to himself as he had the droid summon his sky car. He would be heading over to the automatic defense grid and inserting the core allowing Omni to take control over the ground defense cannons. If the fools did not wish to be part of the future, then he would erase them from the slate with the very weapons they installed for their defense.

Tapping his fingers softly on the warm dark leather armrest of his seat, he wondered who else aside from himself would have the vision to see the possibilities this opened up.

Raum had been on the outskirts of Kaas City about to journey into the Dromund Kaas jungle on some classified mission when the chaos erupted. From the distance he was at it was difficult to tell what was happening at first, until he started hearing the screaming and gun shots. All other details at that point became moot. He immediately hopped off his air speeder and grabbed the lightsaber from his belt and headed back towards the city, giving the security officials nearby orders to shut down the port and assume defensive positions in case the enemy emerged from the jungle to try to breach the city walls. He thought it quite odd that the disturbance seemed to be coming from the city's epicenter; terrorism immediately came to mind, as no army could just land in the middle of Kaas City unexpected.

As he rounded the first city block from his initial position, he saw them. An army of droids, slaughtering the civilian population at will. Where the bloody hell did they come from? he thought, keeping himself concealed out of sight the best he could. The enemy had too many numbers to engage directly, so the Zabrak kept to the alley ways and away from the main streets. Raum knew he had to re-group with friendly forces and form a counter-attack, whether it be other Sith or military. The likelihood of running into other Sith in this part of the city was relatively low, so he figured finding the nearest military outpost was the best decision.

He noticed a group of civilians running for cover from an enemy squad as he sprinted down an alleyway. Using the Force he leapt several meters into the air and fell down upon the droids. They acted without hesitation and immediately turned their weapons on him, but mere droid programming was nothing to the Force. His crimson blade ignited and viciously slashed into the metallic bodies. Bolts of electricity from his left palm fried the circuits of the others. As the smoking remains finally came to a motionless end, Raum eyed the droids curiously as a make and model he had never seen before. He ordered the civilians to flee the area back in the direction he came, and set off in search of Sith forces.

Tal was right in his assumption that a prolonged fight would spell death for the Sith gathered there. However, his attack against the droid was counter intuitive to Darth Apparatus's plan. The Seraphs' attention turned toward the Sith Apprentice. Darth Apparatus usually would have left the Apprentice to die as he would eviscerate the giant Seraphs with the opportunity they presented.

However, the Sith Lord extended his left hand out toward the droids and bellowed, "F҉all͏."

Both Seraphs tumbled over as a result of a telekinetic push by the Darth. They were not disabled, yet it prevented them from causing more harm for a few seconds.

"Ti̷me is ̵sho̶r̵t̵," exclaimed Darth Apparatus, "Act ́n̷o͝w ̨o̵r ̀st̡ay ̸to be şlaugh͘t́er̛ed b̶y͢ ͟tḩe d̢r̴òi͢ds͝."

They came at her from every angle, out of every crack in the ground they rose to meet her. Their great orange eyes glaring at her, their screeches ear piercing. She heard none of them, saw none of them she just felt. As she twisted and turned her crimson blade a blur she began to build a collection of droid parts that itched to repair themselves. The onslaught never slowed and there was no end in sight to those orange eyes.

It was time to run. She leapt at a building wall and began to scale it with quick hands and jumps using the force to shove those away that sought to pull her back down. On the roof top she paused to catch her breath, her mind buzzing as she tried to think beyond her own survival. She had to find Desmius. She had to find Kaine. Another winged droid landed in front of her and screamed, her hand shot out, seizing it in the force and throwing it into another approaching her.

Deactivating her saber, she ran across the rooftop and jumped to the next. The streets below were to crowded to allow easy movement through them so she crossed the city at a height, jumping and climbing following the force signature of those that were most important to her. By the tiem she dropped down beside Desmius her hands were bleeding and exhaustion was threatening to sink in. "The city is overrun, your majesty." she said here eyes settling on Kaine a look of confusion on her face as he stood his lightsaber ignited clearing making a stand against the Emperor.
There were other things she had intended to say to Desmius but they fell from her mind as she studied her lover. Something in his eyes was different, something about his force signature as a whole had changed. she had seen those that had died and were risen and a sickness twisted at her stomach. She took half a step forward "Kaine." she said softly, her voice almost pleading.

Kaine angled his lightsaber towards the Empress, his expression never changing until his lover, Anaya came onto the scene, but even that displeased him. She had not joined with the rest of them, she had not been assimilated. That would just not do. So, he beckoned towards her with his free hand and said, "Anaya... my love. Come, join us in glorious assimilation. It's so much better, so much more fun. Oh the pleasures I could show you now, the things I could teach you. All it takes is one kiss... just one." He said as his smirk transformed into a savage sneer as he attempted to assert his influence over Anaya's mind through the force. "As for your Empress, she mist submit to the assimilation, or die!" With that, he unleashed a feral scream and lunged towards Desmius with the intention of bringing his lightsaber down to try and bisect her torso from left shoulder to the right side of her hip.

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Valik inspected the Grand Vizier, lightsaber ignited, speak to Darth Desmius and her Champion. He couldn't hear what they were saying, as he elected to leave his auditory enhancers in his lab, but he could see that the Grand Vizier looked to want to kill the Empress. Valik knew the Sith were often brutal, and often usurped command through battle, but Valik had no idea the Grand Vizier would do such a thing, at least not before he became a master. Something didn't make sense. Valik figured the Grand Vizier wouldn't try to take the throne so soon after it had been taken, nor did he figure Kaine acted out of loyalty to Darth Moridin. And why now, of all times to attack, when the world seemed to burn all around them. Unless . . .

Valik launched an small attack of lightning with his left hand, then pulled out an "Imp" pistol and began firing. Capturing @[member="Kaine Zambrano"] dead or alive, but preferably alive, could be the key to the war.

The flurry of Sith around her was a distraction, perhaps a lethal one, but being a Master was all about balancing awareness of the situation with exacting focus on one's opponent. As Valik fired both lightning and blaster at Kaine, stray voltage flickered against Ashin's armor. It wasn't properly lined - metal touched her skin at the neck, for example, and other places -- so it wouldn't operate as a proper Faraday cage, but she gritted her teeth against the voltage and absorbed a portion of it as she raised her inverted blade to block his strike and lock his blade.

"One kiss, is it? Infection. Fascinating. If I was better at mechu-deru, Kaine..."

She drove him back by their locked blades.

"I'm going to knock you out if I can. You'll thank me later."

A streamer of golden light connected her off hand with the centre of his chest -- Force Drain, in the most ancient mode, an attempt to siphon away his life energy. She wasn't intending to kill him, merely incapacitate.

This was not a good predicament to be stuck in. Considering he'd promised his young wife that he would stay safe while he was away from home, he had to do everything in his power so that he could avoid running into a situation where he would become infected or assimilated, or whatever it was. He'd made a promise to Lenne, and when he made her a promise, he intended to keep it. That was the difference between her and everyone else. Any promises made to anyone else had little to no sway with him. Even Ashin. She'd made him promise not to mess with two people specifically, but that didn't mean he was going to follow through with it. Oh, he'd be subtle when it came to messing with them, but he would likely do so.

Either way, he was not a telekinetic powerhouse like some were. His skills in telekinesis were average, as his main focus with the Force was mentalism. He was skilled in the art of messing with people's minds. Unfortunately, that was a next to useless tool in this situation. As he landed and swept around the others, his focus was on the droids that were following him, as it seemed the Sith Lord was dealing with the two giants that had appeared, and the Empress and a newcomer were taking on the tainted man, Kaine. He really didn't have any choice in what to do here. Turning, towards the droids, he lifted his hand and a purple beam of lightning shot forth, striking the lead one in the chest.

Droids were susceptible to energy. This particular form was that of simple Ionize, or Droid Disable if you wanted to call it that. It arced between the tight knit formation of metallic beings, disabling them and dropping them into metal heaps on the ground. Effective, but draining. He didn't particularly want to have to sit around and do that repeatedly, so he swept towards Apparatus, intent on going with him and leaving. "There aren't many ships left and I've seen some of them going haywire after takeoff. Best move quickly."

Kaine would've continued his attack against the Empress, but once that golden beam of light hit him in the chest he felt as if he was aging a year every second, his strength waning and his resolve diminishing. He took three more steps before he fell to his knees, weakening every second as his life force was slowly drained from him by the Empress. A couple of blaster bolts from @[member="Valik"] crashed into his armor, two of them finding the weak points in between the armor pieces and searing his flesh, casuing him to snarl in pain as he tried to stand, only to fall back down to his knees again. He prayed Omni for forgiveness, he had failed him.

"About fething time."

She ripped metal sheeting from a nearby service bay with her mind and wrapped it around Kaine, sealing in him and his infection, which she presumed to be nanitic. His lightsabre's power cell detached and few far away; the lightsabre remained with him inside his metal prison. Levitating it before her, she stalked aboard the nearest transport.

"With me," she snapped to the remaining Sith, settling down in a cargo hold full of evacuees. They gave her and the other Sith some room as the transport lifted off. "Apparatus, fill me in."

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Valik did as commanded, and followed the Empress into the Transport. His eyes constantly watching the former Grand Vizier. He didn't know how Omni was controlling the Grand Vizier, but he was going to find out. After watching the Empress converse with a masked man, most likely another Sith Master by the power he was giving off, and then focused his mind to give the Empress @[member="Ashin Varanin"] a message.

Empress, I don't know if you have heard of me, but I am Warren Valik, a scientist. If you would allow it, I would like to examine the Grand Vizier once we get him into better storage.

I will permit it, @[member="Valik"], but we still have no idea how infectious this may be. If you become infected, I will kill you. I'm familiar with your work, and I will not have your mind in thrall to our enemy.

The ensuing battle went by extremely quickly. The two Seraphs began to get back up. Yet, Rodan managed to force them back to the ground with a quick shock of electricity. Unfortunately, it was still not enough to completely disable them, yet it made the droids incapable of truly opposing the Sith in their escape.

Darth Desmius and Valik were quick in subduing Kaine. Her method in attempting to keep him from infecting other beings was rather interesting, and the Darth took note of this. This allowed the group of Sith to easily reach a starship that could take them off world.

Once within the cargo hold of the ship, Desmius quickly asked for information regarding Omni.

With some seconds of silence, Darth Apparatus began by saying, "Ţhere̸ ͟i͘s͢ ̡a̵ ̕ho̵lǫcŕo͘ǹ òf ̕a͢ ͠Si̵th ͜from befơr͜e̸ ́the ҉p̡lag̡u̕é, nam̶ed̵ ̷L̨o҉rd̵ ́D͠e͜rri͟ph̷an."

Any knowledge of Lord Derriphan was lost in the four-hundred year darkness. This Sith's existence was unknown to the current generation of Sith. Darth Isolda, if she heard this, might have taken interest in what the Darth was saying.

Darth Apparatus continued with, "H̕e on̴c̡e en̢counter̡ed ̶O͘mni̢ ̀jus̶t ̀aft͟er҉ t̡he̡ ́G̡ul͡a͟g ̀P͞lag̵u͠e̢ ͝s̛tr̷u̵c̴k.̡ ̢T̨h͟roug͟h ̨his ̀sto҉r͡i̧es,͠ I҉ h͘a͝ve ͟gai͏n̷ed̨ ̢know͞le͏dg͠e ̀of ̧th̢is͜ threat͜."

For now, Darth Desmius would have to take the Sith Lord's excuse for why he knows about Omni at face value unless she wished to pursue the truth with more questions.

"The threa͘t͢ th͏é ̸S҉i̧th̴ ͞fa͜c͢e ͝nǫw͟ ́is ońe͘ ͟t͝hat ca̧n ͏c̕oḿple͞t̵ely a͢n҉nihil͟a̸t̛e t͝ḩe̵ ͠gala͟xy," informed the Darth, his words not giving any good news, "O͠m̷ni,̀ ̸a̕s͝ it̨ ̷is̢ c͝alled, ìs an ánc҉ie͘n̛t ͢A͞I͏. Radon boarded the ship with the others, affording one last look to the outside as the ship began to lift off. Slapping the ramp controls, he shut them in and walked back up to where the others were. He was just in time to hear what Apparatus had to say on the matter at hand. So, someone had met this threat before and lived. That was intriguing. In fact, the whole thing was interesting to him. Whatever method of control the machine was using was something that Radon had an interest in, but the threat here was too great to be playing with kids gloves. "So it's a rogue AI bent on the destruction, or seeming assimilation in the case of the one you caught, Empress. This is interesting. I've had my people working on similar tech to this, but nothing so... voracious." He scratched his chin. "This bears studying. I need to consult with my scientists."

"Simple enough, Lord Apparatus, though I find myself wondering how, exactly, this 'Omni' could send its forces up out of a chasm beneath Kaas City." Her jaw knotted. "One would thing that somewhere, somehow, Kaas City held at least one competent seismologist. But then again, we know this must have been a long time coming, and if they can suborn the most loyal administrator in the Empire they can suborn a seismologist. Unless that holocron is inside the city we just left, I'll have it in my hands as soon as possible.

"Yes, Lord Mont, consult with your scientists, and see to it that they interface with Valik here. I'm familiar with his work, and it's uniformly competent. I'll have nothing petty or internecine. This is no time for ego."

The information Darth Apparatus continued to bring to the Empress might have been more troubling.

"Tḩe͜ holocròn̛ is un̛avail̕ab͏l͢e," replied the Darth, "L͞os̨t̕ in t̢his̨ ͏c̡h̀a͝òs.̶ Yet̸, t̡h́e k̵now͢led̸g̕e͢ ̡o͜f O͏mn̨ì ̧i̧s ̸stil̢l in ҉m̸y͘ ̴m̶in͘d͏. "We won't be safe until it's dead and gone," Radon said. It was a sound observation. He looked at Ashin and nodded, conceding reality. "I'm not entirely certain that they'll be able to help. I'm not certain my people haven't already been compromised. I'll see what I can find out, though. In the meantime...." He walked back towards the cargo hold where all the people were, including the imprisoned Kaine, and released a heavy cloud of pheromones. If there were any sleepers amongst them, this should at least make it difficult for them to follow through with their programming. He studied them all, sneering as most were humans. Turning away, he walked out, closing and locking the door to the hold just in case.

"Very good, Lord Mont. Get to work on a means of identifying or, better yet, neutralizing this infection. I'd warn you against using principles of mechu-deru -- I don't want to see you interfacing with such corruptive, invasive programming in any way.

"Darth Apparatus, I require your memories."

"Th̕e̢ b̧ès̨t ́I͠ ͜ca͠n̡ do i͞s ţo̸ ̸tell you͏ ̶w͝hat ҉yo͘u need͘," Darth Apparatus responded, hinting that he was advising against any Force techniques that might have been able to pull memories from his mind.
