The Commenori Await You, Madam President

Kay-Larr

Kay chewed the inside of her cheek as she paced back and forth behind the curtain, trying to calm her nerves. She could hear the Ministers speaking on behalf of the Elders and the Council with regards to the Presidential election. Soon it will be her turn to step out onto the balcony and make a speech. But for right now there was still time.

It had been all over the holo-news on Commenor. Her win had come at nearly a landslide, garnering 90% of the vote. It was unheard of and one that raised suspicions of fraud. But upon a thorough examination, it had been proven that there was no fraud. At least not at the ballot boxes. How did such a thing happen? Did [member="Jorvan Hatha"] play a part in it? She wasn't sure. Her bodyguard and friend [member="Veiere Arenais"] had come back from Mimban, but she had allowed him time to rest and recoup after that ordeal. Whether or not he listened to her was another matter all together. She though back to what brought her here in the first place.

------Six Weeks Ago------

Kay walked through the Elder's Temple and made her way to the Council Chambers. There she found them, three Elders that sat high up on their thrones. She bowed her head to them after going down on one knee. "Elders, thank you for seeing me. My name is Kay-Larr and I humbly ask for your permission to run in the Presidential race."

They spoke in unison, their voices distinct, yet the same. "We are aware of your intentions and have studied your past, present and future. But before we grant you your request, we ask you if there is anything about you that could cause a scandal or black mark for the Commenori?"

She had expected this question. When it came to the Elders, people were unsure if they were excellent slicers or in tune with the Force. It was hard to say. There was one thing that came to mind that could harm her chances, as well as her own reputation when it came to her political career. "I can think of only one thing, Elders, and that...is...that I am Force Sensitive. I have had training with various teachers, but have only used it to help others. It was the true reason why I had lost my Senate seat before the Republic lost their control of this part of the Galaxy. I don't know how to use my gifts to manipulate others and I certainly wouldn't start now. I only used them to heal the injured and help in rescuing slaves, as well as defend myself. But always it was a last resort."

The Elders did not hesitate before they spoke. "We are aware of your skills and although it could mark you as unqualified for the role of President, we feel as though have displayed wisdom in your part when it comes to the use of your gifts. As such, we have come to an agreement that if you are not asked, you should not tell. However, if you are asked and lie about it, your Presidency will come to an end. We do not tolerate liars leading the Commenori."

"Are you saying that I have your permission?"

"Yes and good luck."

"Thank you, Elders. I won't let you down." Kay bowed her head to them again before getting to her feet and exiting the Council Chambers.

-----Present------

Fortunately the Presidential races on Commenor were short ones at merely four standard weeks long. Kay's opponents were a business tycoon and a long time member of the Advisory Council. It wasn't until recently, due in part because of the coup in the Republic, that the Commenori had changed the title of their head of state from Prime Minister to President, but it was a change that was hardly contested.

The campaign was fiery at times. Kay had paid for her own, though she did acquire some donations that she was unable to return. She wasn't a fool in knowing that at some point they were going to ask to collect. And now here she was, waiting for her moment to speak to the tens of thousands that had gathered. Any moment now, her life on Commenor was going to completely change. No more outings by herself, no more speederbike rides on the beach, and no more rescuing slaves or travelling to worlds caught up in war. Now she had to be in more control of herself and her sometimes reckless behaviour.

Boy, that was going to be tough....

"I don't care what the hell it takes," James roared, "Get the goddamn spies in place in three hours or you are dead. Or better yet, I hear Thraxis is lonely this time of the year." the hurried response placicated James' furious rage. "Good you fether."

The spacer sighed, tossing his comm aside. A young female, dressed in a revealing "uniform" went to adjust James' appearance, perfecting his disheveled look. "We are in orbit, master. It is coming time to celebrate your sister's election."

James gave a sigh, nodding. His assistant was right. It was Kay's day. The last thing she needed was James in a furry of rage. He stepped out onto the shuttle and felt it as the ride carried him to the surface, a charriot in its own right. Of course, Kay was family, so James had a few office warming gifts in store.

This was not a day that Veiere could afford to miss, it was too important to Kay and he'd been brought back out of exile by her need for a bodyguard; since then they had befriended each other and the Jedi Knight had promised to continue to stand by her when and where the Order and his personal time, allowed.

He wasn't with the former senator this time however, instead he was moving about the crowded area, his eyes keeping watch over the many thousands that had filled in to see who their new leader would be. The last time he had been in a situation like this, [member="Lady Kay"] had opted to stay behind and catch her breath long after the civilians, spectators and the security team had left. It had resulted in a particular criminal who still remained at large, trying to assault, rob and then attempt to take the Ladies life. Had it not been for him being nearby, he'd likely have succeeded.

Buried within his right ear was a small listening device, one created by the artisans of the Jedi Order of the Republic by Veiere's special request for this very purpose. He hadn't told anyone his reasons but being back on Commenor again he had taken it upon himself to listen in to the security team that was stationed there. It wasn't at all that he doubted their ability to protect the head of state, the elders and other council members or politicians but rather...-Well, he still didn't completely trust that Kay could keep herself out of trouble. It seemed to find her like nobodies business and here, he hoped to offer another safety net; one she knew completely nothing about yet he did out of wanting to keep her out of harms way, regardless.

Originally, he had planned to arrive aboard the Sovereignty, with much pomp and circumstance he would come to the world bringing gifts and word of alliance with Mustafar. However, the droid had thought better of it. Instead he had come aboard the more humble appearing Fate. He brought with him the crew of the ship and a new member to his menagerie of companions. She was a Maelibus who originated from Iego, however she had also been an interrogator in a prison facility that had held Ultimatum for a time. A near death experience on her part, and the following rehabilitation through Ultimatum despite what she had done to him, and the woman had proven to be a very loyal friend. She had decided that she was healed enough to go on a journey, Ultimatum had decided to take her with him to see if this was so. He had given one stipulation, that she where a cloak, due to her rather demonic appearance being somewhat frightening to most.

His ship was preparing to land as he picked up some news about the new leader. One of those information broadcasts, supposed to let the people know a little more about their new ruler's background, or at least that which could be found. In fact it seemed to have been stuff already said a few thousand times, and Ultimatum knew all of it from his time working through the HoloNet rooting out the less savory or more sensitive information. He hoped that there was nothing left for them to dig up, or at least nothing dangerous to find.

It would be good to see [member="Lady Kay"] again. Who knows, perhaps there would be other familiar faces. There would probably be many more he would not recognize, organics had a strange way of making friends, they very good at it and because he did not often keep up with their lives he would mostly miss their updated lists. But that hardly mattered, after all the day was about Kay and her presidency.

[member="James Justice"]

Agent Hyori Tal of the First Order had ventured away from their space in an old, rusty craft that was barely worthy of space travel. It certainly was not her ideal situation for traveling away from the safety of FO territory, but it would do the job. The Adventure was a ship that would not warrant a second glance by any security, it had little in the way of speed and absolutely nothing in the way of armaments. It had been sold to her and a fellow agent in the Sump system, and it had been put to good use. Despite its lack of creature comforts, it did keep their ties to the First Order well concealed. Today she was just a lowly traveler, using the identity that she called Mako Miura – a mild mannered business woman. It was a persona that she took on every now and then, when required to move under the radar.

However, while Agent Tal was here to observe on behalf of their Intelligence Bureau, her reasons for coming were partially personal. She had met Kay some time ago on Bespin, and together with her motley crew of mercenaries, she had accompanied them into a mining platform. Of course, their search and rescue mission had turned into something of a fiasco, but it had been a fitting introduction to the woman known as [member="Lady Kay"]. Agent Tal did not move through life with others at her side, she was of a mindset that one in her position should not make friends, at least not beyond what was required to complete a mission. And once those missions came to a close, those ties were severed as well. Though the two women had long since parted ways, she could not deny the fact that she did have respect for Kay, but she felt that was permissible.

Her ship had set down without any interference, and she joined the crowd of people gathered in anticipation of Kay’s address. There were very few that ever saw the true Agent Tal by the light of day, Kay was one of them – but today she would not be so readily recognized. Her dark hair was much shorter now; she had dressed in plain clothes, and even wore a good-natured expression, all of which were needed to fit in. It was a far cry from her normal cold and almost droid-like blankness. The agent could easily have watched the address over the HoloNet, back on the safety of Dosuun... but she also wanted to gauge the public’s reaction to Kay. This world, Commenor was far from the First Order, it was within the reaches of the One Sith – a faction that the FO was not allied with, but was non-belligerent. It was also close to the Republic, a group that they had few dealings with, but there had always been the possibility for hostilities. It was indeed, a very interesting location.

Kay stopped pacing and wrung her hands together. It was nearly showtime. She had no speech memorized, no tele-prompter to read from. It was just her and her spur of the moment thoughts. Sure she had some talking points in mind that she had hoped that she won't forget, but other than that, she would speak on whatever else came to mind.

"And now the moment that you all really came here for. We now present to you Madam President Elect Kay-Larr!" The sounds of tens of thousands clapping, cheering and whistling was almost deafening. The curtains parted and Kay stepped out onto the balcony towards the microphone stand, waving and smiling. The cheers got even louder as she was seen. Large screens throughout the grounds displayed her image to those that were further away. Commentators on the holonet feeds were all buzzing about her dress. It was a common thing around female politicians, to be commented on what they wore before anything that they would have to say. But it was the way of things.

a-gorgeous-dress.jpg

She brought her fingers to her lips and winked, a polite and cheeky way to ask them to calm down. It seemed to have worked, yet also drew a few chuckles.

"My friends....Thank you. Thank you so much for your trust, for your consideration and for your confidence. I am so very humbled, yet pleased to be appointed to serve my fellow Commenori in these most eventful times.

Empires and Republics throughout the Galaxy rise and fall, but we survive. Economies throughout the Galaxy rise and fall, but we survive. It is through our strength, our virtues and our due diligence that has enabled Commenor to never change.

And yet, some had tried to change it. Due to deregulation by the previous administration, Crime Lords from various corners of the Galaxy are trying to gain a foothold on our streets. I have seen it with my own eyes as one man had his daughter kidnapped by one such Crime Lord. The poor man was blackmailed and all in a bid to have a large quantity of spice smuggled through our ports. Well that is going to stop! Already, plans are in motion to stop the Black Markets and the Underground from using our ports as a thoroughfare for their illegal goods. I would love to share the details, but as you can imagine, I have to keep it secret.

When criminals and murderers attacked this system, we had fair warning, and I was so proud that in less than an hour, you all reached safety. And for those in our military that took up arms and patrolled our skies and streets, you have my thanks. I am confident that we will be able to withstand almost any invasion. Yet should our defences not be enough, you need not worry. There are many allies and friends to Commenor, ones with fleets, soldiers and medics to come to our aid. And with the One Sith territory growing so close to ours, it is alright to feel a little nervous. But we must never let such things slow us down or get in the way of our progression.

Truth be told, I am a little nervous too, my friends. This is the first time that I have spoken to this many people, but seeing your faces, your smiles, you give me strength and courage for our future. I promise you that I will not falter. And I promise you that my office is open to you for any concerns or suggestions that you might have. As you saw during my campaign, I am and always will be willing to listen. You are all my friends. Together we will continue to flourish and ensure that for generations to come, Commenor will survive and thrive! Thank you!"

Kay stepped back from the microphone and waved to the cheering crowds, smiling brightly. In the back of her mind though, she hoped that she didn't come off as cheesey, or too long winded, or self centred. After a few minutes and a final wave, she left the balcony and flopped herself on a sofa just inside. "...Oh thank the Force that's over...." Now was a good time for tea.

[member="James Justice"] [member="Gray Raxis"] [member="Stardust Raxis"] [member="Ryn'Dhal"] [member="Connor Harrison"] [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] [member="Ultimatum"] [member="Ghorua the Shark"] [member="Dominik Borra"] [member="Hyori Tal"] [member="Jorvan Hatha"] [member="Veiere Arenais"]

The crowd was much more peaceful than Ghorua was used to. On Nar Shaddaa, the people were rowdy and terrifying. On Courscant, crowds were suspicious in the lower city, and loud and obnoxious in the upper city. Here on Commenor, the crowd was strangely respectful. Ghorua didn't know if he liked it or not.

Ghorua the Shark stood in the middle of a sea of people, a sore thumb in an army of non-sore thumbs. The genetically-modified Herglic stood nearly twice the height of those around him, wearing an extremely large suitcoat. He didn't dress fancy often, only for special occasions. And if Kay's presidency wasn't special, he didn't know what was.

Not too long ago, Ghorua couldn't have cared less what happened to the Lady. But that was before she saved his life on Bespin. After that, Ghorua had a bit of a fondness for Kay. She saved his life, and he might as well pay his respects to that.

The Shark listened intently as Lady Kay spoke, nodding every once in a while. He wasn't a citizen of Commenor, but he knew she would make good on all of her promises. She was genuine that way.

After the new president's speech, Ghorua clapped alongside the Commenori, a black speck in a sea of people. He began to push his way to the building she had disappeared inside, intent on congratulating the Lady. And he may have had a gift for her.

"Coming through, coming through... Oops, sorry! Excuse me, wide load here!"

- [member="Lady Kay"] -

James' shuttle landed in the area reserved for the most elite of the elite. Several guards came out, surrounding the craft, brandishing rifles as the Spacer stepped out of the shuttle through the loading platform onto the stone floor of the landing pad.

"Freeze!" Shouted one of the soldiers.

James casually raised his hands with a smirk, "Come on, lads, dun't ye know who I am?"

"Yes, James Justice the Crime Lord of Soceras, the Pirate King, the Lord of Vice, the--" rattled off one of the guards.

James waved his hand, "Formalities. Aye, they all be true. But do ye know who I am to the lady?"

The guards turned a bright pink as they realized their error, "Oh, so sorry, sir, we didn't realize--we were told to be on high alert and all."

James chuckled, giving the man a pat on the shoulder, "Good work, son. Take good care of me sister and dun't ever quit keeping on ye toes or else," all humor and warmth drained from his voice and face, 'I will make ye wish ye had never been born.'

"Y-y-es, sir." stammered one of the others.

James chuckled, giving the man a slap on the shoulder, merriment filling the air again, 'Good lads! I'm off now!" he said before strolling away towards Kay. He came just in time to hear her speech. When she plopped down on the sofa, he joined her with a heavy sigh. Of course, as always, he smelt strongly of alcohol, tobacco, cologne, and his pheromones. Sheeh, its like the man never showered, only it was a sweet smell that somehow managed to mix in a tingling deliciousness to the nose.

"Good work sis," he said reaching into his jacket and retreiving a pair of cigars, "Come, celebrate with me! Ye only get to be Madam President Elect once!"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Josh didn't normally involve himself in Republic affairs. To him, the Republic had burned that bridge so many times, that he didn't know if he could look at it the same way again. So why was he here then? Well, for Lady Kay's speech of course. [member="Lady Kay"] was a good friend of his, even if he hadn't seen her much as of late. He was here to support her, as he'd promised her that he would be.

Josh knew that if anyone was going to put this chithole back together, then it'd be Lady Kay.

But it'd be a hard job... Filled with backstabbing co-workers trying to take her place. His own father couldn't handle it, even if he wouldn't tell them just who that father was... His own father was disgusted by it and had abdicated his position as soon as he had gotten the Republic out of certain death.

Her speech was inspiring, and all Josh could do was hope that she would be able to fulfill her promises. As the speech ended, the hooded Jedi Master would disappear through the crowd. Quite literally disappeared. The Current had it's uses, after all...

As Lady Kay would flop onto the couch, a figure would appear as though out of thin air in front of her. "Yeah, I hate making giant speeches in front of crowds too. Always makes me nervous" He would joke down at her, as Josh would shoot his close friend a cheeky grin, leaning against the side of the couch. "Just wanted to say congratulations. You deserve it more then anyone else" He spoke softly. He was about to offer her a hug in congratulations, when others would begin to flock the hall looking for her. He would smile softly over at Kay and step to the side, knowing that if the new President was still the same Kay that he knew, they'd get a chance to talk in time.

Kay smirked as [member="James Justice"] joined her on the couch. Sure he might of dressed up a bit, but he needed to shower. She raised a brow as he pulled out cigars instead of some liquor. "Thanks James, but I don't smoke. I don't mind the smell though. So if you want to light one up, then you can." She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Do you think it was too much? Have I made a mistake in doing this in the first place?" It was going to take a while before she had the confidence in herself for this job like everyone that voted for her had. Leading teams off to investigate illegal activities or to free slaves was one thing. Running an entire planet was another.

And then [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] just appeared out of thin air. What he said caused her to smirk and wrinkle up her nose a bit. He always liked to bug her and speak sarcastically. He was a witty one. His cheeky grin displayed that much to make her not fully believe that she deserved this as much as he said that she did. "Thanks. I think....James, this is my friend Joshua. Joshua, this is my adopted brother James. You two should get along just swimmingly."

As [member="Ghorua the Shark"] entered the hallway, Kay sat up straight. It wasn't as though she was wary of him anymore. It's just that she didn't expect him to be here. She got to her feet so that the tall Herglic wouldn't tower over her too much, and gave him a friendly smile. "Ghorua...it's nice to see that you've recovered. Did you...come for my coronation, so to speak?" Kay wondered if James knew who Ghorua was, one of the bounty hunters that had caught her, beat her and stole her things. But with the help of [member="Gray Raxis"], she was able to secure a life debt from him and get most of her stuff back. And then she used that life debt on an investigation on Bespin, only to save Ghorua's life when he was attacked by an unknown species. At least most of their team got out with their lives. There had been much that she needed to tell her brother about, but they had been too busy.

[member="Hyori Tal"] [member="Veiere Arenais"] [member="Ultimatum"]

He'd expected to have to sit back and let her greet some people, and have to wait hours to talk again, but instead she would introduce him to her adopted brother. He would shrug his shoulders and smile as he would reach over to shake the hand of [member="James Justice"]. "Good to meet you as well, Mr. Adopted Brother" He would crack, shooting a grin. "Josh DragonsFlame. A pleasure. Don't mind the long and superficial name. It was on my birth certificate. I don't get a choice" He would add. He was in plenty good spirits over his friend being elected, so he was happy to joke around even more then usual.

He would look over as another man, [member="Ghorua the Shark"] would show up. Josh notably frowned and was a bit on edge, with his experience with Herglics not being very... Good. Hopefully this might change that. He would let them speak before addressing [member="Lady Kay"] again.

Ghorua walked into the establishment, wringing his insanely large hands nervously. The genetically-modified Herglic noted [member="Lady Kay"] laid out on the couch, seeming to straighten as he came within sight; whether out of surprise or fear, the Shark couldn't tell. He also noted [member="James Justice"] on said couch, and nodded awkwardly. The Shark had run a job for Justice, a long time ago, at the beginning of his career. He had tracked down a Chevin, if he remembered correctly. Digusting creatures. In one of the Herglic's interactions with the Lady, Ghorua had said, and he quoted, 'However big your friends are, I'm bigger.' James Justice was most definitely bigger than the Hunter, politically speaking. The last one in the room was one unknown to the Shark, [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"], who seemed to find his presence distasteful. That was fair.

Ghorua was cleaned up nicely. His tuxedo was well-trimmed, the black dress-shirt under it defining the enormous muscles rippling beneath. His face was peaceful, a slight smile gracing his face. His arms were folded behind his back respectfully. He bowed sincerely to the new president, easily displaying the blowhole on the top of his head. "Indeed, Mi'lady. I wished to thank you for the whole Bespin incident, that never need be spoken of again." He chuckled. The ten-foot-tall Hunter had a reputation to keep intact, after all. "Anyways, I just wanted to congratulate you for all this. You are probably the most level-headed and kind person I have ever met, and I've met many people. You'll do well leading these people. I may not have all of that Force-business, but I've got a good feeling about this." Another short laugh.

"Well, I suppose that's it..." The Herglic began to turn, and looked back slyly. "Oh, I did forget something! Here." From a pocket in his suit coat, Ghorua produced a small black velvet bag. The Herglic palmed it, seemingly thinking hard. Finally deciding on something, the Bounty Hunter flung the bag to Kay, the sack landing cleanly on the couch behind her. He saluted, turned slowly, and began to walk back the way he came, flicking his business card over his shoulder. And just like that, the Shark disappeared.

When opened, the ebony bag would produce a slightly aromatic scent. A cluster of sapir leaves rested at the bottom, crisp and green. In the center of the pile, a small crystal rested, glowing with an inner, sky-blue light.

Ultimatum had fortunately found paperwork that would expedite the process of explaining the fact that he was a free droid. There were comparably few in the galaxy and that meant that his constant running around and visiting different worlds was often interrupted by long times in spaceports trying to convince the workers that he was not a run away droid. Usually people were fairly understanding once it was properly explained, but it tended to take quite some time. Occasionally he used one of his companions as his supposed master. He had discovered some information recently that was basically legalized paperwork on the fact that he was a free droid. Most governments were supposed to accept the papers, but Ultimatum was still somewhat skeptical.

He had enough time to catch the last part of the speech. It was easy enough to find someone who had recorded the entire speech and Ultimatum was glad to find a kind person willing to let him view it. The artificial being was glad to see that she had the support of her people. The state of the galaxy was far too tumultuous for a leader to have dissension in their ranks. This was a good sign for her term as president. Ultimatum waved for his friend to follow him as he made his way towards the building. Though, he bet that the security for the new planetary commander would be sufficient that he could not simply enter.

He waited out one of the side entrances, talking with one of the security guards, trying to convince the man that he was a friend of [member="Lady Kay"]. He seemed to be succeeding, but it would take time. Ultimatum didn't plan much, he assumed that there would be far too many people wishing her well and what not, the droid wanted to just congratulate her before heading back home. Being a burden was the last thing he wanted.

For the time being, Veiere hadn't made any quick moves to approach the building where [member="Lady Kay"] would be catching her breath. He had listened to her words and she had done well to speak them and provoke such a good response from the crowd that supported her yet again these were matters of politics and while the Jedi had come to support her, the time for being direct would have to come later; it was only natural to assume that she would be plagued by all kinds that wished her well and sort to bother her over her plans for the future and who knows what else, the last thing he had expected was for her genuine friends and family to have the first run at her so soon after such a fuss, naturally a gift in itself and one that Kay deserved. Unlike the fanatics, the followers and even her friends, the Jedi Knight on the outskirts of the area, wandering the outside and listening to the ever silent yet very tangible flow of life throughout the gardens. While there were others gathering and making the most of the occasion to explore and marvel at the grandeur of the palace grounds, Veiere simply admired the green life, the purity of nature in that it was life unbiased and uncomplicated.

Truthfully, the silence and isolation away from the bulk of the horde did Veiere a favor to heart; there had been much pressure of late and no one but himself was responsible for this yet he hadn't expected such a conflict and such blatant opposition in seeking to aid the Jedi Order of the Republic. Perhaps if he had a bit of Kay's flare for politics then he might have been more successful yet it seemed the future was destined to dawn upon those that did not hold the same concerns as he. While this was a part of life, it had not eluded in dampening his spirits some. With the warm breeze that flowed up around him and caressed the right side of his face in gentle passing, he tried to push such thoughts away from his mind so that they might be carried elsewhere and that Veiere truly enjoy himself on one of the few occasions where a Jedi Knight was actually needed.

Hyori had stood among the Commenori people, her arms crossed as she listened to [member="Lady Kay"] speak. She had noted the way had addressed the crowd fairly casually, as if speaking to a group of close friends. It was very unlike the powerful displays of the First Order, but it had seemed to have an effect on the people around her. A glance from side to side revealed that people looked pleased, and perhaps even a bit inspired. She had seen the hulking presence of [member="Ghorua the Shark"] moving towards the building once the speech had come to a close. It was hard to miss the Herglic, even in a thick crowd like this. Hyori had met him on Bespin as well, and the corner of her lips pulled up just slightly – it was perhaps the closest thing to a smile she could muster.

Hyori would not use this opportunity to catch up; instead she turned and began to move back towards the spaceport. She had seen what she had come to see, and now it was time to disappear again. As her ship broke atmosphere and began its journey away from Commenor, she could not help but feel that her dealings with Kay had not ended for good. Perhaps the two women would meet again. However, when Agent Tal met people... it was usually not for tea, social calls, or anything relatively harmless.

But there was no telling what the future held...

Kay relaxed once [member="Ghorua the Shark"] bowed. His kind words gave her hope and boosted her confidence in herself a little. It was an odd thing. Not long ago they were enemies, and now? She considered the Herglic a friend.

And then he tossed a small pouch before departing. She turned around and picked it up, already catching the smell that she knew so well of sapir tea leaves. But the pouch felt heavier than one with just tea leaves. She opened it and fished around inside. Her fingers tingled with a familiar energy when she pulled out the crystal. "No...it can't be..." Shaw's crystal, from the lightsaber that he made for her, the one that Ghorua stole from her and said that he destroyed....Yet on Bespin...the saberpike....it was the same colour and worked well when she used it. Kay was finally putting two and two together. It wasn't as though she wasn't smart, but it was just that too many bad things happened on that mission, so she missed that detail completely.

Kay looked to [member="James Justice"] and [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] . "Excuse me for a moment. I'll be right back." Without waiting for an answer, she turned and ran after him. "Ghorua!! Wait!!" But he was gone. How could someone that big just disappear? She sighed in disappointment with herself at being so slow. Kay looked down to the crystal in her hand, before slipping it back into the pouch. She'll have to send him a message, or at the very least meet up for some tea. Either way, he needed to know that he was appreciated.

It was while on her way back to the others that she heard [member="Ultimatum"] 's unmistakeable voice and saw him talking to security. Kay walked quickly over to him, putting on a smile as she weaved her way through security and gave her friend a hug. "Ultimatum. It's so good to see you, my friend. How have you been?" Seeing this interaction caused the security team to relax a bit. Kay hooked her arm with Ultimatum's and led him inside.

It seemed as though she was going to need to provide a list of names and faces for security to allow in with no questions asked. Even [member="Veiere Arenais"] needed to be aware of them. The Jedi was no doubt, making sure that no assassins would be trying to take her out.

[member="Hyori Tal"]

Ultimatum felt as if the conversation with the security guard was deteriorating. Initial attempts to explain the relation to the newly appointed president had failed and further work was merely causing more difficulty to arise. The droid was about to call off the attempt when fate seemed to shine upon him, [member="Lady Kay"] arrived perfectly. He smiled politely to the guards as he passed them by. He turned his attention to Kay as she welcomed him and asked how he was doing.

"It is good to see you as well. I have been doing well, trying to stay out of trouble these days. How are you about this?" The droid gestured around, meaning her becoming president. It was a great responsibility, but she was just the kind of person that Ultimatum believed would be up to the task. He would keep a close eye of her, if for no other reason than to stay in contact. He hoped that she would do well and that her leadership would be as blessed simple as his had become. He further hoped that her security would be up to the task with whatever form of resistance there may be, though if the reaction to her speech was anything to go by, the people trusted her and were happy with Kay.

Ultimatum took a single moment to look behind them, his friend was not with them, having decided to stay outside. Her dark red cloak was not quite bright enough to catch attention as a fashion statement, but was far from stealthy. She would wait, she was patient and she had no problem not being in the spotlight.

It wasn't anything that [member="Ghorua the Shark"] had done, of course. Fact is, the only Herglic he had ever met had betrayed him - betrayed the Order, declared himself a Sith Lord, killed hundreds, and then faked his redemption and his death before magically showing up as a Sith Lord again out of nowhere whether via some diabolical plot or just really inconsistent writing. So it was hard to blame him when he stiffened up when the Herglic showed up. He was used to fish monsters attacking, not exchanging pleasantries.

Josh would shrug his shoulders when [member="Lady Kay"] would leave, casually sitting on the couch and relaxing his arms behind his head.

Kay led [member="Ultimatum"] back with her to where [member="James Justice"] and [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] were seated on the couch, speaking with him as they walked. "I've been...alright. Been trying to stay out of trouble too. I think that's why people that cared pushed me into running in the election. I think that they want me to settle down and stay in one place. But you know me, trouble finds me wherever I go." She laughed a little and then introduced her friends to eachother. "Ultimatum, this is Joshua DragonsFlame. Joshua, this is Ultimatum. And I do apologize for the high security. I'll be sure to have you all cleared so that there are no more hassles whenever you come to visit."

She wondered how things were doing with each of them. Sure it could be considered her day, bit it was just another day of giving speeches, just as she had done during the campaign. And she had a couple of hours before her dinner, so she was taking full advantage of her free time. "What has kept you all busy as of late? I haven't seen either of you in some time." Kay unhooked her arm from Ultimatum's. She clasped her hands in front of her while she listened, one hand holding the pouch that she was given earlier.

[member="Lady Kay"] brought another stranger with her in the form of [member="Ultimatum"] and Josh would nod politely when she would introduce them, as well as apologizing for the high security. Josh simply shrugged his shoulders in turn. "I mean, I literally just poofed from there, and then poofed and appeared here. The security wasn't really a problem for me" The Jedi Master would joke in turn before turning his attention to [member="Ultimatum"] and holding out a hand in greeting. "A pleasure to meet you, sir" He would greet, wanting to make a joke about his apparent metal body. Likely something along the lines of "Be careful on that grip strength, I only get one hand" But unsure as to if it might offend he did not.

When Kay would ask what they had all been up to, Josh would shrug his shoulders once again. "The Order I was hanging out with is busted, so helping it be repackaged. Trying to strengthen relations with the Silvers as well" He would remark. "Taking down slave camps, mostly. My usual. Also met a nice girl" He'd crack, shooting a cheeky grin toward her. "Cute one, that."
