The Crash of a Life Time.

[member="Lady Kay"]

The sounds of fire and sparking surrounded him as his head came up from the console he had been leaning over, a thick trail of blood heading down the front of his face. His eyes staring at the console for a few moments before noticing he couldn't see much of anything. For a moment he assumed it would be because there was no light but he lit a flame in his hand and could be barely and of the azure light that his flames took on the appearance of. 'Great... im blind...' He sighed and looked around him in a vain attempt to access his physical sight once more but eventually giving up. He was lucky though that seemed to be the only major injury, his force sight taking over now and showing him the room around him.

It was torn apart, strips of metal and other items scattered around him as he struggled to stand but only fell forward. His body was in pain, still all together, but it was in so much pain that he could not imagine how he would get out. "Damnit..." His eyes took over as he barely stood there, shambling to a wall and propping himself against it, he needed to get himself healed. What hit him the moment he started moving towards a door at the far end of the hall was the air seemed to become colder until finally his hands started touching all over the wall until he found a console. With a breath in the door opened and a blast of cold air hit him. The Transport ship had come down on an unnamed arctic planet, in the middle of a snowstorm that had no sign of ending.

Standing there his force sight shot out over the snow filled air, unable to see much even with his force sight with the amount of wreckage and death he was feeling... except someone was alive... who... where. His body collapsed before he could look around himself though, his hand coming up and swiping over the console. Slowly the door shut again and Solan looked at the wall, blind as a bat for the time.

Screams echoed in her ears, as well as the horrible crashing sounds of twisting metal and breaking bodies. But all of that was just replaying in her mind as she slowly regained conciousness. First came new sounds, a door opening, then closing, the sounds of wind and footfalls on metal. And then she saw it, a pinprick of light in the blackness. It grew with each second as if she was flying through a tunnel, only to make her realize that her eyes were open the entire time. But instead of sitting up on a chair, she was lying on the floor and staring at someone's crushed foot. Slowly the sensation of touch returned, starting from the top of her head and moving all the way down to her toes. With that the Padawan realized that she was still restrained to her chair and laying on her side.

They had crashed. That much was obvious. She unbuckled herself and winced as her left wrist refused to co-operate with her movements. Already it was beginning to bruise and swell. Lovely. It didn't hurt as much as it should have though, which meant that she was in some state of shock. And no wonder. The Padawan got to her feet and looked about. So many dead and twisted bodies amongst the broken chairs and debris. Why didn't they all wear restraints? All of their lives were gone due to a simple mistake.....

She pulled out her satchel from under her chair and checked it's contents. Good. Her extra clothes kept her food and water rations safe from harm, as well as her kettle and two cups. Phew! Her lightsaber also appeared intact, though she wasn't going to try it out yet. Not here. Not when she wasn't sure if there were no other survivors.

The Padawan moved gingerly around each body, checking to see if anyone was alive. Sadly, there didn't appear to be any. And there was a growing chill in the air. She then made her way down the hall towards one of the exits, cradling her broken wrist and nearly jumped when she saw a man standing there. He appeared to be in shock like she was, and from the trail of blood down his face, he was injured too. "Hello?....Sir, are you alright?" She wasn't sure who he was, friend or foe, so it was best to be cautionary.

He had started walking, one step after another, trying to find his way back to the door as his head first started to ring, his mind going back and then it hit him like a truck. His body froze as memories went through his mind. Fear, pain, death, rage, hate, despair, all of it at once. His head screamed out but his voice was lost in his throat as he couldn't move and he heard the words of those that had died in the ship. His Empathy merging this with the Makeb incident, his mind going haywire as he trembled and mistook the words around him for more pain.

'Are you alright...' The words, they were said to him before, on makeb, his eyes shut and he fell forward. Without halt or motor control left he fell to the floor of the tattered ship outside the room that had once been his during the trip. His entire body remained still while inside his mind it worked to shut off the mental path ways to keep the damage that was occurring in one area of his mind. His breathing and heart rate began to slow as his body went limp. He would remain alive but at this point it was staying sane that he was concerned about.

The Death was easy to get past, the feelings harder as his empathy went out of whack more and more frequently. He had to think of a way to seal off the damage without thinking at all. Self preservation on a basic level and for now all he could do was lay there seemingly unconscious.

Well she certainly wasn't expecting that. The Padawan watched as the man fell to the ground, seeming to pass out. Great. She quickly approached him and using one hand and her shoulder, she rolled him over onto his back. She dug out one of her spare shirts from her satchel and folded it under his head like a pillow. Already she picked up on his shallow breathing and slower heart rate. His body and mind seemed to want to repair itself, hence the shutting down. Well, she was going to help out his body at least.

"I'm not sure if you can hear me, but I'm here to help...." First thing's first. She placed her hand on the top of his head and closed her eyes, tapping into the Force. In her mind's eye she saw the physical damage and began to repair it, easing any swelling and healing the broken skin. She tended to take her time, to be sure that it was done right.

Once that was done the Padawan began to asses his other injuries, many of them muscular. He must have been fully tensed when they crashed. She opened her eyes and was glad that the ship's sprinkler systems put out the small fires from the crash. Right now she was on her own and she couldn't look after the ship, her fellow passenger and herself alone. Especially when they were on a potentially hostile planet.

As her patient rested from her first round of treatments, she took the time to heal her wrist. Two bones within were fractured. She healed them and eased her own swelling and bruising in the process. Afterwards she prepared herself a cold tea. No need to risk a fire just yet, but the tea was good for strength and Force healing can take it from you. A few moments later she quietly stood vigil over her patient while sipping her tea. He was bound to wake up sooner or later.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Most of his wounds sealed or eased with her help, slowly closing up completely until he was laying there with a few more intensive injuries like his loss of physical sight that would need far more than just one treatment. His body slowly worked its way to a somewhat stable state while she stood vigil.

But his mind was much slower to recovery, its damage having already moved deeper from the original source being the battle of Makeb. For now though it was struggling to stay together for once and in there was nothing but a void. It was cold, its grip tightening on his throat as he collapsed in his own mind to the thoughts and emotions that barraged him. A storm of first the pain and suffering of the people, their lives lost to the fall, to the fires, blood loss, all of it. The Death that followed cutting its way into his heart and his eyes shutting slowly.

He couldn't think for a moment and then his eyes slowly opened back up to the void as the mental pathways changed, the world cleared and his eyes in the real world shot open with his heavy. A Sharp intake as he stared up at the ceiling, still blind, completely lost in that sight. He was forced to let his other sight take over, the sight of his miralukan ancestor, his eyes staring at the force dead objects around him. "Great..." His body moved, the internal injuries hurt but they wouldn't kill him.. not yet anyways. Turning his head he saw someone near by, the only living thing... force connected thing left in this tangled mess. "H-hello?"

The Padawan set down her tea as the man awoke. She waved her hand in front of his eyes as they didn't seem to want to focus. Perhaps he couldn't see at all. But he might of always been like that. It was hard to say as she had never came across him before.

"Hello....Just try to lie still. The ship crashed and you are injured. But don't worry. You're going to be okay." At least she hoped he would be. And as he was awake, she didn't want to reveal her Force abilities to him. It could be too dangerous to do so. Instead she figured she could heal him whenever he passes out again or goes to sleep. But until then she'd just keep him company. "Would you like some cold tea, or part of a ration bar? We can't have you eat too much right now or it might make you sick due to you being in a state of shock."

And the sooner he was healed, the better. Then they could figure out where they were and what to do from there. One thing at a time. But their first priority, her first priority was to get him back onto his feet. The Padawan hated being constantly on the go at times. Yet of all places to be forced to stop, she had never wanted it to be in the middle of a snow storm.

Solan looked at the hand as it was waved infront of him, and while his eyes themselves could not follow it his sight in the force could... it was draining him fast though so he instead chose to use what little energy he had left to locate her before shutting it off and returning to a blind state. "Thank you... where are we. And the others, are they ok? I... it hurts... and i cant see." He tried to keep his own connection to the force a bit of a secret. He didn't know who this woman was, what she was doing here, or how she survived too but if she was a danger... Well it could be bad for him.

He tried to get a ranking on her though from what he had seen of her in the force and what she said. Her voice was soft, a tinge distant. Her emotions were another thing though... It wasn't something he was used too, some residual pain sure from the crash but she was at peace and a tinge of worry behind her surface. As much as his Empathy got him into trouble and pain, it was still a part of him and he accepted it for what it could do for him in terms of understanding those around him. "My names Solan... sorry i cant compliment you, but im sure if i could see you would be a welcome one at the moment..." He was still himself, and she was still a pretty woman, anyone that knew him knew he couldn't resist.

Hmm....So his blindness was an injury as well, it seemed. Good to know. Maybe when he falls asleep next she'll work on that. Or perhaps some of the other internal injuries first. He didn't seem to answer her questions about food and drink, so she fixed him up a cold tea anyways as he'd need the nutrients. "I don't know where we are just yet. I haven't been outside. But something took this ship out of hyperspace early. As for the others....I don't think anyone else has survived. Although I haven't checked all of the compartments and quarters yet."

She smirked at his comment on the lack of a compliment for being unable to see. Other than that the Padawan didn't quite know how to take it. She had never heard of him before, nor knew of his usual behaviour. As she lifted his head up a bit and put the tea filled cup next to his mouth, she wondered what name to give him. She was a horrible liar. So maybe it was best not to say it at all. "Here's some tea. Drink it nice and slow. It's not hot as I haven't made a fire....Good to meet you, Solan. Although it would've been nicer under better circumstances." A bit of misdirection. He wasn't dressed like most of the other passengers, and he appeared to have had his own quarters. Who knew what political side he was on or who served him? It was better to find out more first before she introduced herself more fully. "Maybe once you get better we can see if the communications still work, and also figure out where we are." Everything else was depending on that information.

[member="Lady Kay"]

The lifting of his head caught him a bit off guard for a moment before the cup was placed to his mouth and she spoke, his own hands coming up as he took the glass from her slowly. He smiled though as she made the small point about not being able to warm it up. His body relaxed as he sat there before a small trail of steam would begin to rise from the liquid within the cup. It was a thin strand of steam, one that cut his face in half as he smiled at her and turned hsi head to her as it was clear that he was the one that was warming the beverage and he seemed to do so without too much strain.

His head became light though, he hated being this powerless. Even something so simple as heating a cup of tea left him drained and he tried to speak after taking a drink from the cup. It helped clear his throat, his eyes still none the better and needed to conserve what strength he had left for when it was important. "We need to get going soon... much of the power of the ship is offline and we probably wont fare well without preparations. We should get into a room and stockpile everything we can before we start to get to work on it.." He wasn't sure how long the ship's temperature would stay... well livable. The last thing they needed was to freeze to death in their sleep, granted he was at less of a chance of that and more likely to just kill over period... but hey, optimism helps keep one of them alive.

The Padawan was slightly shocked at seeing the tea heat up. Well that was one way of doing it. He was a Force user. And given the circumstances he was probably a very good one too. But that seemingly simple trick took a lot out of him.

With his next comments on stockpiling everything, she nodded, even though he couldn't see it. "Agreed. But I'll take care of that. You need to rest. Just wait here." She got to her feet and had a look around. His quarters was the closest room and besides a few bits of items and debris strewn along the floor, it was suitable. She then headed back to the passenger compartment and began collecting whatever she could find; bags, suitcases, boxes, taking several trips back and forth to the room. The Padawan didn't use the Force though, as she wanted to conserve her energy.

After piling everything up in his quarters she cleared his bed of everything but the blankets and pillows. Such luxury of having quarters on a transport vessel reminded her of the days when she used to have them while on diplomatic missions. She used to have a high level of respect from various planets and factions, but no more. Her reputation was tarnished before her husband's sacrifice, and all due to well played lies by their enemy. But that was then and this was now. Survival was the most important as she didn't want her husband's sacrifice to be in vain.

Now however she had another problem. Getting Solan into bed without him moving too much. As she was alone, there was no other choice. She had to reveal that she too was a Force user. The Padawan wasn't too keen on doing that, but she had little choice in the matter. "Solan....I'm going to move you now, but I need you to remain very still." The last thing that she needed was to drop him. She closed her eyes and concentrated, tapping into the Force again to levitate Solan's body into the air, moving him slowly but steadily into his quarters and easing him onto the bed. Every few seconds she had opened her eyes to be sure that she was handling it perfectly. Once he was safely brought down onto his bed, she tucked him in with the blankets to keep him warm.

"Now rest, please. You'll need your strength for later." She grabbed her extra shirt from the hallway, stepped back inside the room, then shut the door to his quarters. She packed up her tea cup and clothes back into her satchel and tucked herself away in a chair, cradling her satchel in her arms. She needed her rest too and she had hoped that he wouldn't be wanting to talk the night away when he was supposed to be sleeping. But she had no idea what he would do.

He smiled as he sensed her shock and shook his head. "Don't worry, that's about all i can do in my state. If i tried to do more i might burn off my arm without knowing it." He had to make jokes, it kept him... human when there was nothing but death and cold metal. It was unnerving for him, his empathy praised the silence but he also only had one single person to talk to. Granted she wasn't as bad as some of the other people he met but she was still a faceless, nameless stranger who not that he thought about it there was little that he knew would indicate his safety around her,

He took the moments when she was stockpiling items to determine where they were. His first thought had been hoth but hoth was not in the right area of space at which they had crashed in. Maybe Arkania but there was no hint of the life that the Arkanians had on their planet. He had no idea where they were and he had no idea what was on the planet. Luckily though they were the only things living in the hundred meters around them, his empathy making him sure of this fact.

She then returned with everthing she could find in the wreckage, his mind going to asking her a question he had been wondering as she emitted... was it sadness... regret... something new she had been thinking and he was curious what it had been by the way it burrowed its way deep into her heart. "How bad is the wreckage... any chance we can fly out of here on this thing?" He decided to ask her that before he would hear her answers and then her own words came and she moved him with the force, his eyes shooting open for a second even though blind but he remained still and decided to trust her before he was placed into the bed that had been his. But he had felt no touch of a hand, physical struggle of her muscles. "You are a force user..."

He turned his head even though pain shot up his spine like someone had decided to ram him in the back with a land speeder. His eyes looked in her direction though could not focus on her and for a moment he was silent before following up the statement and asking a new question. "Dark, Sith, Jedi, or Other."

Talk through the night it is. But that was okay. She could still rest as she spoke. Maybe if she softened her voice even further, it would lull him to sleep. That always worked for her adopted children when she told them bedtime stories. Of course he was far from being a child. She took to answering his first questions about the ship. "I'm not sure about the full extent of the damage. I'll have to go outside and see, but not during this storm. We'll have to wait it out, which'll give you time to get on the mend." He was stubborn, that much was certain. But then so was she.

For his other question about which side of the Force she served, she had to think about what answer to give. "Jedi....but I'm not in the Order. They sort of...kicked me out. But I've learned to live with it. I don't need their permission to help others. What about you?" Regardless of his answer, it wasn't going to make her hate him. Even if he answers that he was a Sith Lord or something just as bad. That didn't make them enemies. She tended to have a way of gaining respect from them because of her attitude towards everyone. It was partly what made her such a good diplomat. Her influence was very strong and that was never a bad thing.

"Dark Jedi i guess what would be the best classification for what i am. In truth though i really didn't care what you were. Just was making sure you told the truth... there is no deceit coming from you so i am happy..." He wasn't all too responsive as it was, talking to him softly or not would not come to make a difference in terms of him passing out. It would be more than clear that was liking going to pass out in a few moments. But his mind was not so easily put at ease as and to the left his head turned for a moment. "What is your name?" He tried to focus for a little bit more, just in case this all turned out for the worse.

To be fair he didn't expect her to hurt him but he would not be sure what was to come in the end. The Situation was one he had never though to experience. One he did not expect to come to pass. It would be all new to him and now he was blind through it which made things worse. His mind slowed down and his eyes shut as he thought for a moment about what could happen when he next woke up. His breath left him then and with a sigh he stared at the nothingness that greeted him.

A Dark Jedi, just like her late husband. That's not too bad. She knew how to be around them. As he asked for her name she took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She didn't like to tell people anymore, but it was more than likely that he had never heard of her anyways. It was a huge galaxy and she wasn't well known in the Outer Rim. "My name is Kay...." She left out her title as it was stripped from her anyways and held no real meaning anymore.

Whether he had heard her or not, Solan seemed to have passed out. Finally. She got to her feet and silently approached his bed, holding her hands just above his abdomen. Closing her eyes, Kay tapped into the Force again and began working on his injuries. There was some internal bruising that needed to be taken care of. Once she was finished, she retook her seat in the chair and curled up. It was time for her to sleep and replenish her energy. She cradled her satchel and used it for a pillow before closing her eyes and letting sleep take over.

[member="Lady Kay"]

This time his mind was at ease, the touch of the force pleasant as his own energy fed into her work. The Internal bruising being the first to go at this stage of the healing, his body recovering at a snail slow pace with how he was doing in terms of his own recovery. It would not be a long sleep though. His body jolting him awake only three hours into it and he breathed slowly as he looked to the blackness of his vision now. It was cold, very cold, the chill getting to him in such a way that it bore into his bones and his mind decided to let the sight of the force take over.

Slowly details returned, the colors were not there but he could see the room and with his head turning he was able to look around the place that they were in. He wanted to move but that was still beyond any easy thing to do. It was beyond any chance of him being able to move without it being a strain. But move his body did and he pushed himself up until he could stare at the girl who had fallen asleep in a chair. He understood why she had placed him in the bed but he was not that worried about his own body he could not lay on the ground if need be. With a sigh his hands came to his lap and he closed his eyes again. What came from doing so though was rather simple, his aura expanding and then pulling back in until it twisted around his bones within him.

Slowly it worked and relief came further to his body as he worked to sustain himself. He had learned healing from one Feena Mason long ago, he was decent at it before his mind had become twisted, now it took great reserves of energy to do anything with the power and he was taking a massive risk as he started to mend what he could while the woman was asleep. Might as well let her have her sleep for doing what she had done this far.

And sleep she did. It was seven hours later before she woke up, well into the morning. She opened her eyes and stretched, her body stiff and achey due to sleeping in the chair as well as the coldness in the air. It was a lot colder than yesterday.

Kay got up and started rummaging through the suitcases and bags until she found warmer clothing to wear on top of her own. She also found some suitable for Solan and brought them over to him, placing them on the bed beside him. He appeared to be still sleeping. Whether or not he was just lying there remained to be seen. But regardless, she never spoke.

Kay thought back to her last session of healing him. It was odd as she felt his energies mix with her own as though he was helping. That was nice, but he really should save his energy. Such a stubborn man.

Another problem presented itself though. They needed to warm up the room that they were in and to do so, they needed a fire. But without a way for the smoke to escape, they would only kill themselves. Maybe a small hole would work. But then such a thing would ruin what little structural integrity that the ship had left, should they determine that it could be fixed and flown.

Maybe some food and tea will help them think. Kay put the clothes over top of her own and then grabbed some of her food rations and prepared a small breakfast of sorts containing ration bars and cold tea, ready to eat once her companion woke up.

[member="Lady Kay"]

His hands came up and he grabbed the clothes as she set them there and opened his eyes though he still had no sight in them. He had been preserving the nerve endings, knowing those would be harder to heal if they were destroyed and deteriorated. His head turned as he smiled spoke in the room. He noticed she was deep in thought so he tried to keep his voice lower as to not surprise her. "Hey there... " He didn't realize that he had just given away that he could see without his eyes but it would have come up sooner or later.

His hands pushed his body back up again, wincing as pain went up and down his body but not nearly as intense as it had been the last time. "God that hurts... note to self, never let someone else fly the ship again. And don't fly commercial." He was fully aware this time around, his hands grabbing at the clothing and with slow jerking motions he brought it over his had and onto him to keep him warm. "Also good to know i didn't kill over in my sleep."

Kay didn't come to the conclusion that he could see with the aid of the Force. She just assumed that he'd heard her preparing breakfast. She was the only other person there afterall. Kay smirked at his other comments though. He had a sense of humour about him and that was a good thing.

"Hey....It's a good thing that you haven't keeled over, or I might end up having conversations with myself and that's what a crazy person might do." She offered him a cold tea and a ration bar. "Breakfast? It's not much, but I haven't looked for food just yet. I've got a lot of work ahead of me today. Hopefully the storm has died down and I can go outside, check on the damage. Then I've got to get these bodies out and buried so that we don't attract any unwanted wildlife." Not to mention she had to continue working on Solan's injuries. The quicker that he was able to help out, the better. And then she had to work on getting a fire going somewhere safe.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Solan smiled as he took the bar and tea, staring down at them vainly as he tried to see once more with his eyes but could not. More Forceless objects that were cold to the touch. He sighed and looked at the ground for a moment before smiling again. "I hope you don't plan to leave me sitting here with nothing to do in terms of helping Kay..." He moved to take bite of the ration bar, his eyes remaining aimed at her now as he looked at her. Distant but still somewhat focused on where she would be. "Don't need me or you getting preyed on by some creature that thought one of the two of us would make a good meal. That and i feel like i owe you for helping me so much already that i might as well help you even if im still a bit distant to the world."

His hands tried to support him as he pulled his legs over the side and tried to stand, almost falling right over as he did. It was clear he was in pain but he was stubborn as a mule. He would not sit here while he could help her with something in this ship that needed done.

Solan was quite stubborn, yet so was Kay. She was sure that if their roles were reversed, she'd be behaving in the same way. And more than likely he'd be tough on her. As he almost fell over, she got up and helped him back into bed. "Thanks, but the sooner that you heal, the sooner you can help me. I need you strong and....well....able to see what you're doing."

A thought occurred to her as she finished up her tea. "That power you showed me yesterday, when you warmed up the tea....Do you think that you could warm up the wall next to your bed? It's metal so it should conduct the heat well and keep us warm, like an oven. No need to heat it up too quickly. A gradual heat should be good. In the meantime, I'm going take a look outside and see if it's still stormy out there." That should keep him busy for a bit. All that she needed was a half hour or so to look around.

Kay grabbed her cloak and wrapped it around herself, adding to the layers that she already had on. She didn't even wait for him to protest or anything as she opened his door and stepped into the hallway. "I'll be back soon. I promise."

And with that she closed the door behind her, making her way to one of the exit doors. After prying it open, she was greeted by strong winds and blowing snow. It wasn't snowing, mind you. It was more so that the wind was blowing the snow around. She stepped out, leaving the door open an inch or two and carefully began her inspection, shielding her eyes and moving in the direction of the wind. From first glance she could tell, the ship was a mess.....
