The Crash of a Life Time.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Solan sighed and as she helped him back into the bed he stared at her for a few long moments. Staring at her and then looking past her at the door. His mind was racing, trying to think of ways he could help her outside of sitting here and letting her do everything to get this whole mess straightened out. He couldn't just sit here and get better, it would take too long, especially with the sessions of healing he suspected she was doing. Even with his help it could be days till his body was fully functional and then how much longer past that.

Her next statement came up and he was about to object before he thought about it. "Pyrokinesis is just the creation of heat in a medium... if i did heat the wall like you suggest or even the air itself we would be able to get out of this cold for once, it would take multiple sessions a day and a few during the night to accomplish a comfortable temperature where we won't freeze to death... but you have to wake me up halfway through my sleep to complete the process, every night. Can you do that?" He would get started the moment she left and as a joke he added something.

"Just don't get eaten by what ever is out there. Whole being alone driving someone crazy thing, remember?"

Once she was gone he turned and placed his hands on the wall, concentrating and thinking on it. His hands worked their way over the surface until he was comfortable and his eyes shut tight. The Dark aura from before engulfed him, the cold air around him freezing further as his hands worked to do as she asked. It was leaving his entire body twitching his hands shaking as they touched the metal and he looked as if he was breaking down himself. He kept at it though, his mind focused on the molecules and creating a low level friction to do as he did before. The air would slowly heat up but his eyes became the same corrupted Amber color, his skin paling. He would keep at it though as he pushed his connection to the force.

Kay wasn't about to let herself die, or him for that matter. She hoped that he took up her suggestion and that it wouldn't take too much out of him. But then if he passed out she could work on him further. It was all that they could do to keep warm until he was healed and they could find a way to build a fire safely.

In the meantime she continued her trek through the snow and around the ship. She couldn't tell what the bottom looked like, but the edges nearby were heavily scratched up. There were some holes in the outer hull, but they weren't too bad. It seemed as though it could be patched. All in all it seemed okay, until she came to the front. What would be considered the nose was just a crumpled mess. Bits of wire and steel plating were sticking out and bent way out of shape. It also sat up against a rather large boulder. So that's what stopped them after they came down.

Unable to finish her circle, Kay turned and headed back the way she came, fighting against the wind and snow this time. She held the hood of her cloak down on her head and kept her head lowered until she found the door again. After prying it open and getting inside, she shut the door and hurried back into Solan's quarters. She blew on her hands to warm them and once she saw the state he was in she gasped. His eyes were glowing and not in a good way, he was also shaking and pale. Perhaps she got him to start too soon?

Kay chewed on the inside of her cheek as she waited nervously for him to finish. This was sure going to take a lot out of him and no doubt she would need to help him recover.

The air would slowly warm as he sat there, and while his body shook it was working. His skin remained its pale color and each breath came further in between and more labored as he seemed to struggle in breathing. It was a bit much but he was determined to finish. Reaching out his aura expanded for a moment as he drew off all the death that had been created by the crash and channeled the scar into his work as he stopped breathing for a moment and his body became deathly still. It still sat there, in the same position, but for a fraction of a second he himself seemed... dead. Not only in sight but even his aura seemed to disappear for that half second before returning and his hands dropped to his side as he faced the wall.

He had succeeded, for now atleast as he sat there and stared at the wall before sighing out and his body folding over slowly but he remained sitting. His forehead was placed against the wall. Just then did he notice her and with a small, almost sad and ashamed smile, he looked at her as he spoke. "Sorry, ive used it for so long... i get... it hurts sometimes but thats how i have to use it." He smiled at her still as he sighed and thought about what she had probably just witnessed. A full blown display as to how he summoned up the force ever since then. His reliance on the darkside and need for it to complete the use of the power. He could use his skills in other manners, but his mind perceived the darkside as the most... correct method. "I understand if you get sick from being in the room, there should be heavy traces of the darkside left..."

After he spoke, she helped him to lay down again and covered him up in the blankets. The air was indeed warmer, but the chill around Solan was evident. It was a bit odd that he seemed somewhat ashamed with his method, but they were still very much strangers.

After warming up her hands she sat down on the corner of his bed. "I don't feel sick. My late husband was a Dark Jedi as well, only he drew from anger. He always kept it bottled inside....and used it when he needed to." It had been five years yet she still missed him terribly. Kay swallowed down a growing lump in her throat. She needed to think of something else, change the subject and occupy herself. So she got up and started to go through the boxes. "I looked at the ship. There's some major front end damage as we struck a boulder, as well as some small holes in the hull. It'll take some work but we might be able to get it to fly again." She found some clothing materials, even some baked goods and nuts. "It's windy out there, but at least it stopped snowing. Maybe it'll die down in a little while and I can take a look around at our surroundings."

She paused and looked at him. "Thank you, by the way, for heating up the room....It will help a lot." Kay offered him a small smile. "Now rest..."

He smiled and had to actually force his empathy not to draw on her pain for strength. He hated that part about his mind that seemed to register pain and suffering something he should want to cause in people. But she wasn't feeling sick from his use of the perversion of the force so he felt a little better at ease. Why he had felt worried was simple, if they were going to get out of here they would need to work together and if she had gotten sick every time he had to pull out the use of the darkside like he had just done... they would never get off the planet.

He waved his hand and looked at her as she talked about the damage, indicating he understood but the thank you caught him off guard as he turned his head and raised a brow. "Don't mention it, might as well be useful." He returned the smile and leaned back as he looked up at the forceless ceiling. Cold, lifeless metal... that was one thing he liked about vong ships when he was around them. For as... different a creation that they were, the living ships felt so much more natural and right than a normal ship did at times. He was weird to think like that but it was what came to mind.

It helped him drift off too, but this time instead of a dreamless sleep or a troubled one he was in a garden back home on Dantooine. He had had this dream before and he rather was fond of this one. It was him as he was now, his home surrounded by miles of plains and he was living a nice solitary life with his parents and with his daughter. It was... as he knew a dream. Something he would never see in his life time but he was more than happy to dwell on the moment and enjoy a happy sleep after what he had just dug through to heat the space.

And he was being useful. Well, as useful as someone that was bedridden could be, anyways. Kay continued searching through the boxes, putting the contents back inside following each search. No point in creating a huge mess. She found tools as well as tool parts, some dried meat of some kind and more clothing materials.

About a half hour later she decided to take a break and check on Solan. He was sleeping and by the small smile and steady pace of his breathing, he appeared to be having a good dream. Perfect. She held her hands over his abdomen again and closed her eyes, tapping into the Force yet again to continue to repair his damaged muscles, massaging them with the Force's healing energies and light as he relaxed and slept. Once that was done, she fixed herself a small lunch with some of the dried meat and nuts that she found, letting Solan get as much sleep as he needed. At least with the colder air, the food wouldn't spoil so easily.

He would remain completely asleep for a long while this time, his sleep sound and peaceful as he lived out the impossible life that occupied his dreams. His eyes flickered though as he started to come back to reality in the middle of the night. His eyes opening slowly as he looked around, taking in the surroundings and unsure if Kay was even in the room for the moment. He wasn't about to just wait though for it to be confirmed as he took stock of what was around him for the first time hes had the chance to.

She had gathered alot and if she was asleep, it was likely in the same chair as before. Smiling as he looked about the room he straightened up and breathed in. It was starting to get cold again and about time for him to reapply the oven like conditions as he dug into his own mind this time and began to pull on the memories. It would be every man he had burned, every person he had seen die, everything and every one being torn apart in his mind emotionally. And while it sickened him he drew on them for his strength before giving out a sigh of relief. The temperature would start to return to the state as before. But once more he was turning pale and his eyes took the amber glow like before.

And asleep she was. After having her lunch she had decided to have a nap. Her sleep however was dreamless, as it usually was after she had spent a good portion of her energy healing.

The cold air elsewhere in the ship was keeping the bodies from rotting, instead freezing them in the positions that they landed upon death. In a way that was a good thing.

Not long after Solan awoke, Kay opened her eyes. He was heating the room again and looking just as pale and deathly as before. The glowing eyes however showed anything but a death glare. While he was doing that she prepared some tea and dried meat for him. She hoped that he ate meat, but wasn't sure what culture he was from.

Kay didn't speak until after he was finished. "Feeling a bit better?"

He slowly came out of he work, swaying a small bit before falling back against the wall while he sat there. It was still taking alot out of him but he did look physically better with the exception of what using the darkside did to him. Solan's eyes focused slowly on Lady Kay before smiling and nodding as she spoke. "Im feeling fine, a little drained but its to be expected considering the power's effects and reach. Ive got to say its the most taxing form ive used yet." He closed his eyes and looked out over the room with force sight instead, waiting for her to respond. "You were a Jedi right? What happened?"

Kay helped him back onto his bed, only she didn't tuck him in this time as he was feeling better. Instead she handed him his meat and tea, answering his question as he did so. She kept her answer simple as it was the easiest thing to do and enabled her to not get so emotional about it. "Long story short...I broke the rules. I married a Dark Jedi which the Order didn't approve of. But him and I were a team and it made sense to us. So as punishment I was exiled." With the last sentence she had shrugged her shoulders. "They didn't even give me a chance to try to change their minds or speak in my own defence."

"I see. I am sure though that the new grandmaster will hear your plea to return if you ever wanted to. Corvus can be a bit of a stiff, unlike her sister, but she is still a good person from what i see. They are a tolerant enough group to work with from time to time." He looked down at the meat and smiled as he took a bite of it without hesitation. His eyes remained closed as he ate and drank slowly. Careful not to spill the tea while they talked this time. He would remain sitting up though rather than laying back on the bed, he had had enough laying for a bit and now that he could sit up without being in pain he would abuse that fact until he was feeling even better. He didn't even try walking though considering he didn't know how far he would get.

"I'm sure it's too late now. I kind of like the freedom of not being told that what I am doing is wrong, or being held under high scrutiny. It's better that way. I can help who I need to and go where I wish without needing permission. I am a team player as well, don't get me wrong, but it's probably better this way."

She didn't want to make a name for herself again either. As far as her enemies were concerned, she had disappeared. Might as well be that way with the Jedi too.

As Solan was eating, Kay wondered what else he could do while he was a bit bedridden. "Do you think that you could organize some of the items in the boxes? Some of them are a real mix of items. I'll put a few on the bed for you. And while you're doing that, I'll go outside and start digging a mass grave. Hopefully my lightsaber still works. That'll make the job go by quickly." There didn't seem to be anyone else nearby, so she felt safe in the idea of using her saber without anyone seeing.

"I can try though i wont be able to tell what specifically something is just by feeling it. Ill be able to sort things based on what i think they are, but it would probably be better to let me help you with the graves..." He was going to be stubborn again, it was who he was and he never shied away from a challenge. That and he hated sitting here in this bed and if he had the chance to get up even if it was to dig a grave he would gladly do that over sorting things into boxes.

He looked at her though with a knowing that she probably would tell him know so he turned his head to look around himself with a sigh. "But, i know what you are going to say so might as well just bring over the items. Ill sort them while you dig those graves if you insist... just don't freeze out there, i wont be there to create our own personal oven of a shelter out if im stuck in here." He slowly brought his legs up and crossed them under his as he sat there on the bed. His breath slowed as he allowed his mind to drift for a moment and for his connection to the force solidify before letting force sight take over and staring down at the ground as if still blind.

As she started placing a few boxes on his bed, she could tell that he was accessing the Force. His meditative stance and slowed breathing said as much. But she wasn't quite sure what he was using it for. "You're not ready to walk around yet, let alone be out there in the cold and digging. Try to conserve your energy for healing and keeping us warm."

Kay then bundled herself up even more and brought out her brass coloured lightsaber. She ignited the light blue blade and was ever so glad that it still worked. She turned it off and then headed out of the room. Already she could feel the change in temperature. No doubt it was going to be even colder outside. With a shove, Kay opened the exit door and was glad to see that the wind had stopped. It was still cloudy, but at least she could see. Her breath clouded up the air around her face as she surveyed the area. Lots of snow, including drifts of it going up the side of the ship as well. There were mountains in the distance and quite possibly some forests as well. It was just too far away for her to be sure.

Not too far from the ship, Kay ignited her lightsaber and used it to carve into the ice and snow. Tapping into the Force, she used it to lift the larger chunks of ice out and set it aside. The others she moved with her hands. There was at least a dozen bodies to bury, but before she could do that, she'd have the morbid task of seeing if they had anything on them that could be useful in helping them to get off the planet. Where she'd go from there, who knows? One thing at a time.

An hour later, she retreated from the cold and went back inside the ship to warm up, lightsaber in hand, but turned off. She replaced it in her satchel after going back into Solan's room. "Well....how did you make out?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

He smiled as she put the boxes near him and spoke before waving his hand to her with the same dismissal of her concern. "Come now Kay, im not crippled just yet. I think you are a bit over worrying for little old me. I mean, whats the worse i could do, catch on fire?" He started picking out items and inspecting them with his hands while he went on. "It would be so much better than the cold atleast."

When she left he turned his attention to each object to each thought, to each thing that his hands came across, his eyes staring at the objects. Tapping a hand across the object's surfaces and even sighing for a few long moments. "This is taking forever..." His hand went to touch the lids of his eyes as he sat there and for a moment he debated trying to heal them but knew it would require far more energy than he had left. Far more than he could ever hope to have. Far more than anything that could be summoned up by him. He hated feeling this useless and it was starting to get to him as he sat there.

Forcing him to have to stand, very slowly, very carefully he stood and let his muscles stretch. His eyes staring at the side of the room though he would not be able to see it with the physical sight he so grew accustomed too. "So this is what life was like for you mom... blind to every beautiful part of life." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he smiled and looked to the side at things for a few moments longer before reaching out before him and focusing in that place inside his palm as the air warmed up. He stood there, for the entire hour, focusing on that point and that point alone while he stood there until he heard the escape door opening in the hall before slowly moving back to the bed but instead of sitting down his hand waved to allow several objects change the boxes they were in. He cold see their shape, that was all he knew. And for the most part they were separated.

He wished he could see them though as he heard the door open. "I got a few of them figured out i think... Took some time..." He lied, why he lied he didn't know or understand. But he didn't want to show this woman what he could do completely. For some reason the level of trust he held would be gone until he had his site back, until he was sure that he could be safe... but he had to trust her either way, trust that she would be able to get the damage fixed until he was able to operate normally.

Kay took a look at the boxes. They were sorted to a point, but better than they were before. "Nice job." She set them aside, taking note that he was on his feet, but not commentating on it. She sat down in the chair and blew into her hands to warm them. It was warm in the room, but she needed to adjust to it. Oh how she missed having a hot tea. "I hope that you don't think that I'm holding you back. I just want to be sure that you heal well instead of pushing the limits too far. You're obviously doing better in body, so we can start working on your sight next."

She rubbed her arms to make sure that her muscles didn't cramp up. "So....you know a little about me, but I don't know much about you, Solan. Care to pass the time by telling me a bit about what led you onto this lovely planet that's sure to be a vacation destination?" Kay offered him a small smile with her jest.

He smiled as he heard the words and turned his head over the shoulder to look at her sitting there rubbing her hands. "Here..." He walked over and blinked as he looked around for something to sit on. At this point he said screw it to hiding the fact he could see as he sat down on a crate nearby her. "Yes, i can see... just not with my eyes. My mother taught me to see with the force as a child, it was the first thing i learned. Not how to levitate, or to hold a book, or even to wave around a saber. She taught me to see and understand the force. Understand how it flows around objects that were not living." He smiled at Kay as he motioned for her to hold out her hands as he cupped his hands together for a moment and closed his eyes again.

Heat began to collect in his palms before he finally started to open them slowly and with a breath out a small flame sputtered to life above his hands which he slowly made larger. It would be a slow process, a very slow process, but soon the flame above his hands would be large enough to keep her warm. He fueled it with the force, thus creating a smokeless blue flame as he sat there and looked down at the ground. "I apologize about lying as to my strength and abilities force wise... i have a problem trusting people. Very few people do i allow to be trusted... all of them took years or are my family."

So he could see. In a way. That might explain a few things. But then he began to talk about his mother and she sounded wonderful, the type of mother that she hoped she was to her adopted children. But both were nowhere to be found after their father died. Kay was taken away from her parents and sent to the Jedi Temple when she was an infant, so she had no idea who or where they were, nor any memories of what they looked like.

She cupped her hands as instructed and watched in awe at the flame glow in her favourite colour. But then she turned her gaze to her warming hands as she had not yet been able to watch a fire without thinking of her husband's funeral pyre. "No need to apologize. I understand. We're strangers, strangers forced into a situation that we didn't anticipate. I don't expect a lot of trust. Even healers get questioned over possible motives. And had this ship not crashed, we probably would have just gone our different ways without even meeting." Of course she felt honoured for the trust, but it was something that she hadn't been used to as of late. Once this was all over, she figured that their lives would return to normal and that they would walk their own paths once more, only looking back every once in a while, perhaps in boredom.

[member="Lady Kay"]

He nodded as she said that, his focus on the flame to make sure it glowed no hotter or larger than already, noticing the change in her emotion and the change in her body language. His eyes watched her response for a few moments longer before speaking. "Is the fire causing you pain... i don't mean physical..." He would wait for her response before speaking again. He didn't mean to cause any painful memories. He knew just how deeply memories could scar someone, how badly they can dig their way into a person's heart.

Once she would respond to him, he would speak himself again. "You wanted to know more about me, no?" He smiled at her as he tried to lighten the mood once more. His empathy made him far more susceptible to the emotions, especially when he drew on them to control his force powers. It made him think of his own past and he stared for a few longer the flame he was generating. The Blue flames licking the air slowly, still being fueled purely by the force as they talked. Might as well pass the time while she was right about one thing. Had the ship never crashed, they would not be sitting here now.

Kay looked up at Solan after his first question. She didn't want to seem as though she was ungrateful for creating the fire, especially given the effort it took him. "It's okay...I prefer the heat as opposed to not having it." She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, not liking the fact that she was letting her emotions and her memories get the better of her. It was stupid and she knew better. "My husband died five years ago and as a precaution, we burned his body in a funeral pyre. I used to love watching fire, but I can still see him burn after a while." She gave him a half smile. "I'll get over it eventually so there's no need to worry." She reached out and squeezed one of his forearms in a reassuring manner.

At his second question she nodded her head, liking the idea of a change in topic. Already she was feeling warmer, the chill in her bones easing. "Yes please. What brought you on this wonderful ride of a lifetime?"
