The Crash of a Life Time.

"Well, you can sit down and get warm, there isn't much i can do still partially blind at the moment... oh right, i cant read, going to have to fix that once we get back to the room." He rubbed his eyes as he shrugged. "And no, this is not an old problem so im going to need you to read for my while i work on the systems. Luckily i can largely type blind anyways but it would be nice to know what it says before i do something very wrong." He didn't point out the fact that the damaged nerves had not been healed in time to completely fix his vision and nor would he. It was something she would probably figure out on her own but it was ok to him, he already wore contacts to record his battles and fights to make sure what he did in them could be reviewed and studied as well as to keep records on enemies and tactics, so wearing glasses or contacts all the time now didn't bother him as much as it would others. It was going to be odd though.

She sat down as instructed and cozied herself with the blanket. Kay rubbed her arms and legs to try to help them to warm up faster."Not a problem." She would've quipped a joke to him about not being able to read, as if he just wasn't smart enough, but maybe now wasn't the time. Their situation was serious and growing worse by the day. No more games. It was clear that the ship wasn't tracked or they would've had a rescue by now. The most important thing was contacting someone.

"Ready when you are."

"Ok the main thing is going to be calculating how much power i need to redirect to the dish. I need you to remain here while i get into the system itself to repair a few minor things, then when i say i need you to type exactly what i tell you too and make sure that what comes up is the correct reading, that of which i will give you once i have the wiring and machinery working again. The biggest problem is we can't relay this off long range sensors so im going to have to try and push the signal on my own which could mean total loss of power. So i hope you don't mind sitting in the freezing cold for a few more days if this does work... and if it doesn't... well lets just go with it will work." He stood up as he looked over to the room in which the main panels would be there.

Kay nodded as she listened to his instructions. It sounded simple enough on her end of things. "Understood." She glanced around the room as he mentioned them possibly not having power for a few days. It might be a bit of a struggle, but it certainly was doable. "It'll work, whether we have to force it or not. I'm sure that others have done it and with less to work with than what we currently have." She gave him a small smile, though he was a bit too busy. Not to worry though for escape was higher on the list of priorities than sharing a smile.

"Sure, there have been plenty others..." He said though the sentence continued in his mind. 'Though they were smarter than me and often died before help could arrive. Plus they could see...' He shook his head as he forced himself into the inner workings best he could, luckily being thin as he was left him plenty of room to work with the machinery without worry of being stuck. It was painstaking as he would have to follow a wire manually along its entire length, inspecting it for the smallest of damages or alterations to ensure things would still work and he knew if he didn't look over each centimeter by centimeter he might miss something very important and that would mean they would be stranded with no power and no signal the moment they got it working.

He sighed though as each cable took fifteen to twenty minutes to completely check, the hours going by as he went from cable to cable slowly and only got through the first ten before sighing and leaning back against the wall of the area. Ten down and dozens more to do. This is going to take forever and he knew it as he held his head and thought to himself. There had to be a faster way, they didn't have the days it would take to do all of these one by one.

Kay just sat there and waited. And waited. And waited. Solan seemed to be moving around in there and was working, yet as far as his instructions to her went, he had given her nothing. She drummed her fingers on the back of her datapad. Something had to be wrong. It had been hours it seemed and nary a peep was heard from him.

She got to her feet and stretched, leaving the blanket on the chair as she figured that she was warm enough to move around again. With the datapad still in hand, she walked over to where he had climbed into. "Everything alright? Need any help?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

He shook his head on the help part. "Not truly. Its going to take days at the rate i am physically capable in checking the wiring from the generator to here. If there is the slightest alteration then everything we do will be in the end useless. So i don't even know if i can get it checked before we die as it is... where is the blanket. You should be covered Kay..." He looked at her as a bit of concern etched its way onto his face as she had arrived without the blanket and without a second thought he started to remove a layer he was wearing, the viola trenchcoat he always wore and reached out with it. "Here."

She furrowed her brows as it seemed as though he was giving up. That shouldn't happen. They couldn't give into despair. Not now. Kay crouched down and took a bit of a peek of the area he was in, glancing at the wires in question. Hmmm. Maybe she could...

Her thoughts were interrupted as he asked her about the blanket. She was about to answer him when he took off his coat and held it out for her. Not taking it would be an insult, so she grabbed hold of it and slipped it on, feeling a bit warmer as the fabric held his body heat. "Thanks...but I wasn't going to be uncovered for long. I was just checking to see if you needed any help."

She chewed the inside of her cheek a little. Might as well express the thought that she had just moments ago. "These cables don't seem much different than veins. What if I could try to go through them like I would when trying to find a hidden injury in someone's body? In theory that could speed up the process. I might even be able to handle minor repairs."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"I already thought about that but the problem remains these aren't veins. They are not creatures of living flesh and blood and as such using the force in that manner would not work as it would be like trying to do so for a rock. There is nothing in a rock to let you see the inside of it, same way there is no life in these cables. IF that made any sense. And i already know that if i try and just do this from one of the control panels it could just give me a incorrect error which would kill us. I have to be sure that every single one of them are undamaged and fix those that are..." He paused and leaned back as he looked at one from where he sat. "Kay, ever wonder what we would do if we were not force users? OR if we had never done the single most influential thing in the past to us?"

She looked down at the datapad. It was true that the cables weren't alive, but that didn't mean that they couldn't be manipulated some how. Otherwise no Force user would be able to throw or push an inanimate object. But perhaps she just didn't know enough about the Force and how it works to come to the right conclusion.

The last two questions caused her to look up at him again, adjusting herself so that she was seated as opposed to being crouched. "I do know what it is like to live without using the Force. I hid my abilities for five years and will continue to do so unless it is really needed. I rely on it mostly for healing, but I do know basic first aid to help in case I can't draw on the Force."

The second question caused her to think a bit before she answered. "I don't think that there is a single influential thing that I've done to take me down this road, Solan. There have been many turning points. I could have not gotten into politics or gotten married or been so defiant and stubborn. People may have survived if I was able to alter history, or they might have ended up dying by other means or I could have taken their places instead and not be alive. I've made my choices and like it or not, I have to live with them."

He thought about it for a few moments and nodded as his hands came to rest in his lap before closing his eyes. "Well, we need to get back to work now don't we, before the cold takes us and we screw up. Im going to start with the cables that link directly to the generator, you go over those connected to the systems through a converter. We need to make sure there is not a single breaking in the wiring and power transfer or else we will be in a horrifying position of not being able to get off the planet until someone finds us." With that his body rose slowly and he took a good look around, it was time to get to work on this.

As he got up, so did she. Kay took off the coat and draped it over his shoulders when his back was towards her. And before he could object, she quickly moved to the chair she was in earlier, grabbed the blanket that she had left on it, then wrapped it around herself. Solan needed to stay warm too, even more so than she did.

With the datapad still in hand, she headed over to the converter and began going over the cables, one by one. She didn't want to miss anything. Yet instead of following the entire cable to each system, she instead went through all of them in sections, believing that it was faster that way. So far everything seemed good. There were no tears or breaks. Maybe a few indents, but that all looked to be harmless.

Kay kept her focus and did her best not to waver it. He needed her eyes right now, they both did. Though she half wondered if the stranger from outside was near them now and reporting on everything that they were doing.

Solan simply continued with his own method, following the entire lengths of the cords and looking over them with a fervor and devotion that seemed to absorb him. Her help did cut the time in half and would make sure things went by faster but he finally found the break he was looking for and he stared as he tried to think of a way to repair the damage. It would be difficult to say the least, there was fraying on the wires and coils themselves that would interrupt the flow of information and power. He needed to ensure that he would be able to get it working so he got to work immediately before looking own the hall towards Kay. "Can you try to find some tools from that ould be used to repair this, i cant do much without more specialized tools."

She stopped what she was doing, not quite finished her side, but he knew more about ships than she did. "Just a second. I had found a bunch of tools earlier. I just need to remember where I put them."

Kay headed over to the main passenger area where she had stored many of the items that she had found, some of which were tool boxes. She placed the datapad on one of them and hoisted it, carrying it slowly towards him. Tool boxes always seemed so heavy. "Got it, got it, got it!" With a thump the box was dropped in front of him. "There's another tool box. I can go and fetch it, but hopefully this one has what you're looking for."
