The Deneba Rebellion

What is wrong pointing things out?

If something doesn't make sense then there should not be a problem with discussing it.

Grah I have a personal distaste for telling someone to "just roll with it" that's similar to "your input doesn't matter".

Edit: I know you didn't intend it that way, it's just how I view it upon first read.

[member="Caius Flavian"] same when it comes to roll with it cause... there is little substance to this to roll with deneba is desert. if someone really wanted to lay seige to it... really the republic would put that as a low priority. it would be a loss of life yes, it would be sad sure but all of the people are in a town around a space port gathered in a small area of the planet.... that has no real value or tactical value. Us showing up is the most the planet has had happen to it in centuries

Oh, no, I feel ya man.

It's just kind of at the point where it won't end up resulting in anything other than souring things. It's silly and folks should read up on the planet history before jumping the gun, but I doubt they'll edit anything unless the report button is pushed -- which is something we should all try to avoid in hopes of keeping things from getting messy.

Meh again like Mimban it there wasn't much thought for the setting just the plot.

Also the rebellion system, or atleast so far for those who have started them against us, has essentially a flaw of poor pre collaboration on communication of plot. Just a lot of hamfisting and drama so far seems to spawn or follow.

Yup yup the struggle is real with this stuff.

Ignorance is bliss

I agree with you. The attack on the Jedi Temple is interesting, but the whole "terrorism to reap chaos within the Republic" thing is just... Edgy. Plus, there's the fact the first message in the thread is literally a reference to "No Russian", which makes it even worse.
Still, character development is character development.

Hamfisted or not the new rules allow us to write a really good story here. We just have to keep up the good writing so far, take the high road, and continue with the fight and hopefully we'll keep Deneba. :)

And I agree with you.. there is an emphasis on shock value, here but that's nothing new with Chaos. [member="Thema Csapla"]

[member="Cath Lorr"] I'm new to this whole rp, but I take it this sort of stuff happens often?

Either way, I can deal with illogical factions, as long as there are a few good roleplayers. The grand scale plotline seems a bit... Blurry, to say the least, so I'd rather focus on developing my character, maybe a plotline with a group of friends.

Lol I hope I'm not coming across as negative out look. I too see plenty of opportunities for stories from these rebellions and the system. I just wish there was a little more patience exercised with setting them up.

[member="Thema Csapla"] I honestly liked the idea but Deneba didn't quite make sense for a location for it. Great idea not the best execution. Still gotta roll with it.

On smaller RP boards you get less of the competitiveness around factions (for lack of a better word), but on Chaos, it's par for the course. Some RPers treat Chaos like a game of Risk and that's their prerogative honestly. Everyone has different reasons for Rping. But when competition comes into play, it's easy to see reason and plot flying out of the window.

Like you, I prefer complex, interpersonal stories. Combat is only a small part of the experience here so yes, I recommend finding a close-knit group of writers that will write like-minded stories with you.

Because they are here! Those of us who value plot, consistency and IC reasoning to drive our characters actions.

Oh not at all! In fact the first sentence I wrote to you was "I totally agree." ;) And then I ended up writing something else instead.

But if we have the opportunity to write a better story, we should take that.

Well, it's relieving to find someone who shares my same objective. I think it's pretty ridiculous how some people meta-play the rp- COUGH OVEREQUIPPED MANDOS COUGH- It just kills the whole Galaxy Far Far Away vibe.

I'd kill for a small, oorp group of rpers who could plan these sorts of wars out. Make them private, maybe build a whole story, yknow. Cause when you join a public rebellion, you get,
Well, this. Still, all you can do is make the best out of it.

[member="Knight"] it could have one it's a little thing. I know it's desert world. I got it. I'm trying to have fun with it. If you and the faction prefer we stop posting let me know now

[member="Faith Organa"] it is an open thread that anyone can post in but we have enough people making things up because they can't read a paragraph. We've been trying to keep it consistent and not the possible delusions of a large city from someone in the desert suffering from heatstroke.

I like having you in the thread but they have nearly killed the entire population of the town with how many they slaughter per post

Thank the Force I am not a toon for combat! This is why I stayed out of both Rebellions - and, given the description I feel the last two Rebellions were anathema to the invasion of Coruscant, which I played with my Gungan alt.

[member="Charzon Loulan"]

you should totally be in there and a part of it. we have a space book user reporting and vlogging while it happens and we're about to see a whole lot more things to make you facepalm. I really do wish we could have the final post be someone waking up in the desert from heatstroke after all of the delusions.
