Faction The First Steps | Alliance/Republic/SJO

Throughout the meeting Kaito had been scanning the room, making note of all the Jedi in the room. Of all the Jedi there was one that stood out...One that continuously drew his attention. One of the Padawans looked increasingly familiar, and then a wave of memories flooded his mind. The runner, the spice, lost credits....Agrippa. He hadn't thought about that Hutt in years...The slight of the young runner even less so...But with him being a Jedi, this offered an interesting opportunity. Sure the Jedi all had a bounty placed by the Sith, but that was an age-old religious dispute.

He wondered how the Jedi would see one of their rising stars if they knew he was once a no-good scum runner for criminal syndicates. He knew how much of the public would react...He could see the headlines now.

"Jedi Amnesty - Jedi Harbor Criminals" He smirked. Sure, Kaito did harbor some form of a small grudge towards the young man, and he didn't hide his malice in the Force. As he'd already displayed and his Chancellor discussed, Kaito had no love for the Jedi. But honestly, it was more of a stroke of luck for Kaito's plans.

His glare lingered on the young man for the duration of the meeting, only shifting when questions came his way.

As another Corellian Not-A-Jedi, Sel had her own thoughts on the proceedings, but did her best to stay out of politics, and as such, kept those thoughts to herself. As one of the 'vetted citizens', even though she could ask questions, she was thus far merely here to observe, but for her own interests... interests, that is, that aligned with a greater cause than the struggle between light and dark. The protection of the weak from the abuses of the strong meant sometimes, if not often going farther than a proper Jedi was willing to go, and sometimes the aforementioned abuses were perpetrated just as much by Jedi as they were by Sith. But... unlike Maou Maou and his lack of love for the Jedi, hers was more of a healthy respect, even if her own philosophies didn't completely align. She was a regular visitor to the floating temple, and enjoyed 'exciting' the Jedi with philosophical debate, and fascinating their younglings with flashy illusions and grand tales.

That aside... it was interesting how running in the same circles molded people in different ways. She had a muted interest in the Corellian Atrisian, to mind where he set his feet, as she was often struck with the feeling that Kaito was up to something, but couldn't put her finger on whether it was good or not. She'd parted ways with the galactic underworld too long ago to be more sure, without knowing him better. Not that she'd come to this thing to follow him around, even if he was decent looking; that kind of thing had never been enough for her. She took her eyes off of Kaito, and followed his line of sight to a thin, scruffy-haired padawan - Ryv Ryv .

Her mouth assumed a thin line. She didn't get the fixation, nor the untoward current pulsing off of Kaito that was pointed at the younger man, and her blue-eyed gaze went back to Kaito, making a vague amused face at him as if to say 'what's got your panties in a twist?'
