The Galactic Alliance: Trade makes the 'Verse go round - Sullust

Matsu stood on the stations walkway while she continued forward, it was one thing to really work with it but she had some things people might be interested in... At least she hoped bowed her respect to Danger and holding the case there in front of herself. "Thank you for this chance Lady Arceneau." She kept the casing while moving to look and see the others with a small smirk on her face finding a small area. The gear she had worked making for the ranger's to stock up their stealth ship or creating gear that was being severely under utilized except by a few of her students.

Roberts smiled to Perris as they made their easy shift. Yes indeed. She had come all the way across the galaxy for an introduction. Law of association, after all. And my! How that gravity did pull. Already the representatives from dozens of other companies were showing up in droves. Sullust was going to be a grand trading hub indeed. Or was this the pull of Coren Starchaser? Hmm. Karen just didn't know. Oh! Wait now. Was that... Kerrigan? The Siobhan Kerrigan. The woman with more conquests around her belt than a Sith Emperor. Whoa. Talk about tough crowd.

"Well my my. Mr Perris it does indeed appear that we'd best get in line. Hehe. It's getting as crowded in here as an A-wing's cockpit. ...Well. Piloting puns aside. Do let me know when we can best "eject" ourselves into the conversation. Hm. Oh, I'm terrible. I know. Hehe."

Roberts gave the man a slow smirk. Completely aware that her humor was horrendous. Perhaps even oblivious. Bah. Can you believe it. Starfighter jokes to the head of Incom. Ugh. Did Roberts have no shame? Good heavens girl. Stand up straight. You've still got important introductions to make. Sheesh.

...

Ahem. Oh! And the answer to that last question is no. Roberts had lost her shame a very, very long time ago. Oops.

"Indeed,we'll have to talk starfighters some day Mr.Perris."

Judah knew Miss Arceneau quite well, so there was no need to jockey for introductions or to say hello. He would leave that spot open for the newcomers, the hungry kids looking to make a name for themselves in the area. So far he had only met a woman who was involved in running a PMC. Always useful to know a few of those folks.

Speaking of....he spotted one Miss Kerrigan from across the room, leaning on a cane. A surprise to see her here. Must have been difficult to pry her away from the hordes of slave girls forced to bend to her every whim. Still....the woman could run a PMC well. Salacia contracted out their services for all locations in the Silver Sanctum, along with vessel escorts in dicey areas.

"Miss Kerrigan, I didn't expect to see you here."

Master was pulled away from the glorious space view of the chaotic world below. It reminded him of why he so enjoyed space instead of having his feet firmly on the ground. He was a bit odd like that, the thought of only thick prices of metal and glass separating a man from a long horrible death made him giddy inside.

His attention was pulled by the lovely Danger Arceneau, the Trade Queen, a person he truest looked up to and yet he still feared her. With one of the largest Trade Empires in the galaxy and a hand in nearly ever one of the biggest names in the galaxy, she was a force to fear. He spent years gliding under her radar, creating his slice of a Trade Empire from what she already controlled, but now his organization was out in the open, and she was an ally, or at least he was told that, he didn't know for sure.

In his blue uniform with gold trimming, the 6ft 5 mandalorian gladly smiled at the women, and at 39 years old, snall grey hair were sneaking out from under th cap. He reached out to clasp her welcoming hand, greeting her, "Well of course we would arrive, Sullust, like many of the planets we have attempted to save after the crumbling of society in this quadrant, we take a strong interest when an unknown government entity pops up, we want to make sure the people we saved are under the right protection, as well as speak with other companies to see if they may pose a threat as well."

It was of course a lie, master didn't care too much about the people of this planet, like the other planets he helped, he only cares to continue and spread his Trade Power. Buisness and gain were the only reasons he was here, but his Exsective Chairwomen had a bleeding heart, and he was forced to be here for those other reasons as well.

Sometimes Siobhan managed to pull herself away from her harem of pliable slave girls who were eager to bend to her every whim and service her needs whenever she desired. After all, she had a few kiddos to look after and mother over. Especially since her former best friend had died and decide to make her the guardian of her pre-teen daughter. Siobhan was still certain this had been Dells trying to troll her and exact her final revenge!

Anyhow, recognisising a famliar face, Siobhan walked over to Judah, while Karen made starfighter puns in her conversation with the head of Incom. Wait, Karen was no longer a bluehead. This was terrible. "Nice meeting you too, Mr Dashiell. Thessa and Makai doing well?" she asked, shaking his head. It occurs to this writer that Siobhan has never really met the tadpole. This would have to be rectified. "Sounded like a business opportunity to come here and I was in the area. I take it you're here working with Ms Arceneau?" Siobhan knew Danger and the Judah worked closely together, though she would obviously be unware of the fact that the redhead had decided to give little Makai his own company!

Isis finally docked with the trade station, it wasn't much for the Liran bringing her stuff to the party it was more she was certain their were larger names there aside from danger... All she could offer hopefully was a few unique systems. It just made her glad to be invited to the party as her attention went to the small team with her on the station for making the displays and their best part.... Booth babes. Taking a note from Henkal who displayed things for Phenex it would be worth it with the scantily clad bodybuilders flexing their pecs while wear Damorian Manfuacturing shorts.

The government of the Galactic Alliance, currently referring to itself as the Alliance, was looking to secure certain perks from companies. And by perks, they were hoping for products, second hand, maybe first hand, to provide for their military. A lot of ships had pledged their allegiance, from the former Omega Protectorate, from planetary forces, and just people looking for a home called Earth, so say we all. And that was why the Office of Military Procurement had sent their representative to the meeting aboard the ATC trade station above Sullust.

Really, when they say ‘representative’ of ‘the office of military procurement’ they meant the sole logistics officer for the up-and-coming galactic powerhouse. Walking into the station in military uniform, was the Sullustan officer Lack Yman. He looked a bit nervous, but he’d done this before, just not with so many CEOs in one place. He knew that a majority of companies they were interested in were here, and he was willing to listen to the others and their propositions. Incom, BlasTech, those were the ones he was looking for. And hopefully Miss Danger Arceneau would be kind enough to assist Lack with the finer points of this.

Approaching the gathering, he approached an unattended table, putting down his datapad and yes the table may have come from hammerspace, bear with me. Running a hand over his jowels, he looked around the group.

He was going to be eaten alive.

"The family is good. I didn't bring them along yet, just scouting out the area. Really only here for the business meeting and its back to Ceto for more business. We've got some exciting new things in the works."

Judah nodded slightly at the mention of [member="Danger Arceneau"] . Everyone made it seem she was an untouchable force, that it was hard to get an appointment with her. Of course it was difficult to set up a meeting with Miss Arceneau. Judah had a knack for pestering her in the early days however. Non-stop calls. Now they seemed to have a better understanding, a working business relationship.

"Yeah, we've been working closely with Arceneau Trade. Using one of their new products, solarium glasteel. Nifty thing but the only drawback is the slow manufacturing process so far. Next time you're on Tabaqui stop by and check it out, you won't be disappointed."

"How is the family? Your daughters? What do you think of this Alliance? Could be another flash in the pan but....I'm not so sure. Folks ain't exactly happy with the Republic from what I hear."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

"I'll be sure to check out your work on Tabaqui when I stop by the next time. Do keep me posted. Tegs is doing well, thanks for asking. So are the kids. We took some time off to go on a camping trip on Tygara. It was good fun," she said cheerfully. Well, actually that thread is still ongoing, but it was started before this one! So presumably it was concluded, even though this writer does not know what happened yet. One thing was certain: [member="Galina Kerrigan-Alcori"] had probably adopted a dangerous animal as her pet.

"Haven't seen enough of the Alliance to assess it really. Lots of idealistic rhetoric about freedom and driving back the Sith - we'll see whether they live up to that. If they're not a flash in the pan and stand up to the Sithies, that's good in my book and Firemane'll help."

Long as they did not follow in the footsteps of Halcyon's Jihad and go 'purge all heretics in the name of the Light'. Or randomly sink cities. "I cannot blame anyone for being disgruntled with the Republic. Its entire war has been a debacle, the Senate is an absurd circus and Jedi defect at the drop of a hat."

Rusty had rarely felt so out of place.

The trade station was so clean, so sanitary, so utterly and completely alien to his sensibilities that he began to sympathize with the Captain's mother's occasional panic attacks. This was not his element. These were not his people. Without the Captain here to ground him, he felt completely and utterly alone, and that bothered him.

The Shard was used to being alone. Had spent centuries alone, in the dark, stalking those that would harm his people and doing unto them before they had a chance to do unto them. He was used to walking through crowded trade centers, sticking out like a sore thumb and still somehow blending in perfectly into the background as yet another hooded figure with a gun.

Maybe the tension this time was because, for once, people were supposed to notice him. He had been invited to Sullust to set up trade in the burgeoning Galactic Alliance. Their agents were apparently fans of his work, because someone had come up with the brilliant idea of setting up a franchise outside of the filthy corner of Dressel that was the home to his shop.

The opportunity was far too good to pass up.

If he could convince the GA to invest in RCFC, there was every chance that the move would pay massive dividends. Though the vast majority of the work Rusty would personally be involved in would still be custom gun and bladesmithing, if even a few of his inventions could be mass produced, they would sell like hotcakes. The new iridium rounds were prime examples. What with the One Sith threatening nearly every corner of the galaxy, there was a high demand for anything that might give someone an edge against them. Already he had investigated a dozen different ideas of varying levels of practicality, but none so far held as much promise as bullets that could pass through a lightsaber blade without flashing into vapor.

If only he could mass produce them.

And so, the Shard found himself wandering aimlessly, looking for someone that might be able to point him and the massive hovercart he was towing behind him towards the area he was supposed to set up shop in. He hoped he could find someone soon. The thousand plus kilos of ordinance was straining the repulsors to the limit, and he would like to get his deposit back.

Company: Kallisto Mining Corporation

There was no time to wait for her new luxury ship to be built. Princess Thais Kallisto knew there was a large trade bazaar going on in the nearby Sullust orbit. So she flew The Crystal Siren, a DP60 Frigate (quite a relic compared to newer ship designs) to the Arceneau Trade Company Trade Station, and once her attendant announced that she was from the Kallisto Mining Company and presented the proper credentials, she and her entourage were admitted into the hangar.

It wasn't as if the Princess was on [member="Danger Arceneau"]'s radar, but she wasn't on a terrorist watch list either. Thais Kallisto was a relative unknown across the galaxy, because for the most part, she preferred to stay in her insular Isis bubble, doing business with the same merchants, suppliers and buyers that the Kallisto family had worked with for years. But not too long after she turned eighteen and became acting CEO, she fully assessed the financial state of the company. And while Kallisto was far from going bankrupt, the kind of expansion she wanted for the mining company could not be done by sticking close to home. And Sullust was just up the Hydian Way. Practically neighbors.

The Princess didn't need to bring anything with her but herself, Napo, her attendant and a few of her Palace Guards. She was a walking trade booth for what the Kallisto Mining Company could mine, ship and even produce in-house. Gems of all kinds - garnet, emeralds, alexandrite, sapphire to name a few - adorned Thais's crown. The same dazzling jewelry made from precious metals and stones hung from her ears and around her neck. Even the bodice of her long gown glittered with crystals and small gems.

Precious gems, while eye-catching, were only a fraction of what she had the capacity to mine on Isis. But at least the glittering display of her finer products would be a good icebreaker for a newcomer like Princess Kallisto.

Speaking with [member="NPCs by Corey"] (Lack Yman)

Jaster finished his greeting with [member="Danger Arceneau"], he was here to speak of Buisness after all, and though Danger was a strong ally to have, he would possibly speak with her later. At the moment however he noticed that one of the people who emerged from the crowd of Buisness people was wearing some type of Goverment or possible Military Uniform. Only part he found amusing was that it was being worn by a Sullustan, he kept himself composed though to not insult the man. Speaking to Danger he excused himself, "Apologies Miss. Arceneau, it would seem one of the Alliance Officals have joined us, will you excuse me."

Jaster walked up to the Sullustan he introduced himself with the tilt of his head, "Hello, it would seem I don't know you very well, my names Jaster Awaud, Viceroy of the Trade Conglomerate, you look official enough, would I be wrong to wager that you may possible be the liaison who will speak on behalf of the this new government called.... The Galactic Alliance?"

Jaster made the pause to make it seem as if he searched his brain for the name of this new government entity. He wanted to push the man to see what kind of political negotiator he could be, possibly measure up how serious this Alliance was before bringing such a matter up with the Merchants Board.

The Sullustan was hoping that things were going to go according to plan here. He knew he wanted to talk to [member="Kelly Perris"] from Incom and definitely [member="Danger Arceneau"] as she was the one in charge of BlasTech. They’d sent word off to Firemane, but still needed to work on some form of combat armor. Lack Yman looked up at the gentleman approaching the table. Setting up the datapads, one for the other to use and one for his own personal use, well, business, it wasn’t like he’d be streaming anything bad on a military laptop, he got to his feet.

“Pleased to meet you, Viceroy Awaud,” one thing for Lack, he was very good at mimicking and remembering names, even if he looked like he was going to wet himself on his way to the desk. “If I look official that means I’m doing my job right. A bit of jitters, I’m normally in a desk…” and he was rambling. “But you’re of the Trade Conglomerate, I’ve heard of you. Have a seat, I’d love to hear your proposal.” And the other thing about Lack, sincerity was his default setting.

[member="NPCs by Corey"]

Jaster looked at the younger male, he seemed pretty competent, yet his ability to openly speak was lacking. It was when he mentioned that he was a Desk Jocky before being assigned to such a monumental posistion as speaking with some very large galactic names. He felt inconsiderate for the man, deciding to let up and move on to more conventional conversation instead of a probing for answers. Jaster nodded as the man offered a seat to Jaster at the table and sat down to speak evenly with him.

"Well to be honest, I'm more here to listen and respond to what you and your goverment have to offer, you see at the Conglomerate we have many low level companies who not only work together to support our selfs, but we have trade with other nations to support our numerous finical needs," Jaster reached for a datapad and looked into the datapad, finally he spoke, "When we responded to the Sullustan request for assistance some months back before your goverment was set up, we were assured that we would receive trade rights to this planet, now what we ask is if this will be tampered with, and if need be renegotiated?"

Jaster had more then enough need to assist the Galactic Alliance, his organization was still based in neutral space, meaning they were neutral in all aspects of conflict and could not be turned as they always had the possibility of selling to another party. They weren't as large as the ATC, having companies that could change the course of a war, but with new technology and new mineral always being discovered, the Conglomerate were not far behind the other big organizations.

Lack nodded. The man approaching new a few things, that was good. He had seen enough people around this galaxy that were only really carried by the fact that even participants received trophies for things. No, sometimes you weren’t good at a sport, Lack knew he was terrible with anything that involved hand-eye coordination, but games of skill, of numbers? Those he could take nearly everyone in. It was why he was in the office he was. He’d see issues before they went.

“That makes sense, Viceroy. The Alliance is still working to get on our feet. As you may have guessed we’re neighbors. But we’re working to steadily expand our influence. That means, among other items, such as weaponry and starfighters…” Lack and his bosses had a few ideas already, not to say they couldn’t be swayed from BlasTech or Incom, but they were thinking pretty specifically. “We’re also looking for supply lines, shipping companies, construction, droid purchasing. We are looking to expand trade, especially to locally owned companies where the profit will be seen within the native state. I suppose that I am a military man. We’re interested in talking to a lot of representatives, but of the mentioned concepts, what companies do you represent? What are they able to provide?”

Company: Rusty's Custom Firearms and Cutlery (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/65969-rustys-custom-firearms-and-cutlery/)

Finally, Rusty found his assigned shop space. There wasn't enough space to set up a major workshop, but he could do a fair bit of customization for customers here. No fabrication, but that's what the shop on Dressel was for.

The hovercart settled down to the ground with a sigh as he killed the power and began unloading crates.

Guns. Loads of guns. Blasters, slugthrowers, disruptors, charrics. Pistols, rifles, carbines, grenade launchers, and other, more exotic selections.

Then came the blades. There were big swords, little swords, knives of all shapes and sizes, suited for a variety of species.

Rusty had even brought a couple of sets of personal armor as well, all of it lightweight and suited for fighters that liked to balance protection with mobility.

After that came the holoprojectors and a couple of terminals that would allow the customer to place custom orders. The design software was intuitive, but powerful. Even a novice with a few minute's training with the tutorial could design fantastic weapons, choose their materials, and get a price estimate for the piece.

Last, but certainly not least, was Gertrude. (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/65746-rustys-personal-bfg-gertrude/) She was his pride and joy, the most complex and powerful weapon he had ever built. She wasn't for sale, but if she didn't get investors salivating, nothing would.

A nod and a warm smile would be cast at Visroy Awaud’s direction. He was already in discourse with one of the Galactic Alliance representatives. Good. That meant that the trade station was serving up to its intention, as a bridge for others to use and to connect not only to sell their goods, but to network.

She would also have a discussion with Galactic Alliance representatives, but she wasn’t the one who this was to be for. All things come in time.

Smiling at [member="Matsu Ike"], Danger returned the greeting. She would have to review what goods were to be sold. There were many new businesses in the ‘Verse, and Danger was keen on meeting them all, perhaps even promoting contracts of goods and helping with their expansion. Both parties would benefit, and it would ensure future business deals.

Aeri would be part of this, as the woman would be making contact with other companies in here as well as Alisha’ven. Both women would speak with the authority of the Arceneau, and would be able to negotiate terms.

Alisha’ven spotted him quickly. With a quirk of her brow, the Rutian Twi’lek sashayed herself over to look at the goods. Sporting typical smuggler gear with a beige blouse under tanned brown vest, dusty boots, and a low blasterbelt over black breeches, one would wonder if she was your typical spacer and not the woman in second in command to the largest trade conglomerate in the ‘verse.

Lekku slightly quivering with implied interest, the Twi’lek would give a nod and a, “Hey there,” to the man. At least, with his back turned, it appeared to be a man.

“Whatcha got on stock?”

THe other people setting up that she could see were making a place. THere was some interest with different things. She could see one from a custom weapon shop which she had heard good things about. Some craftsmenship and skill going into their work after she saw the blade from Quenladose and worked to make it so she could better augment with the force. THere were others for things like ships and she after getting some from Danger... started setting up setting out the different ranger's series of weapons as the railgun field pistol, their sub machine gun with a large clip and the sonic shotgun. The sniper rifle with large extended magazine and extreme range, ballistic knife, disposable grenade launcher firing nine at a time and she slid the large assault rifle from the case as it was lightweight and had minigun levels of ammo for an assault rifle. The one was bringing the guard armor as its strengths were on display and the personal cloaking device.

Rusty turned around. He had his hood up as always, so the only part of his face that was visible were the glowing silver eyes.

Hmm. Twi'lek. Female. Looked to be a spacer of some sort, legitimate or otherwise.

"Depends on what you're looking for," he said cheerfully. "If you want to get the drop on someone or something, I've got a wrist blaster that'll get the job done."

He pulled a case out from behind the counter and opened it. Inside was what appeared to be a holdout blaster with no grip. mounted to a watch band. That, however, was simply for display purposes. There was a cover that could go over it to disguise it as a wrist-mounted datapad. It could even perform basic functions, though the processing power was less than stellar. The Shard had been meaning to upgrade that for some time, but it was hard finding one that was durable enough and powerful enough to meet his needs. All things considered, he went for durable. The cover was in the case.

"Concealable firepower, triggered by a specific pattern of finger movement, which is unique to the user. You program that in, and only your nerve signals will set it off, and only when you want it to. 5 shots, decent power for a holdout, and no one will know it's there. Or if you want something a little more conspicuous..."

He pulled yet another case from behind the counter. This one contained a gorgeous semiautomatic slugthrower pistol, blued with silver scrollwork across the slide and the frame. It looked like an argent rosebush had sprouted from the grip and had clung to the pistol as it grew.

".40 caliber, lightweight, and deadly as it is pretty. Holds twelve rounds in the magazine, comes with two spares. Competition trigger and, in addition to ghost ring iron sights-" he flicked a switch on the side and a holographic aim point appeared above the barrel, hovering about an inch in the air. It was bright green. "-as well as an aimpoint. It'll detect the range and adjust itself accordingly."

If blasters or rifles were her thing, Rusty had several selections ready. However, he had learned long ago not to overwhelm the customer right off. Give them two choices that were nothing alike, and let them decide which direction they wanted to travel down.
