The Holocron Auction Redux

Aleidis Zrgaat

Young soul from an older generation.
@[member="Velok"]

'Republic-backed terrorist insurgency' was a mighty tall order, considering who they'd been there to catch. But, hey. Some people sided with the peaceful police action, some people decided that it was better to defend the man who'd stolen from half the Galaxy, blown up planets, and killed without mercy. Against such a perfect force of evil, what was the alternative?

Aleidis, up in her ship, sighed heavily and put her face in her palm. Velok had gotten away again. Surprise.

"Forces on the ground, find what you can in the Auction house." She ordered wearily. "If they aren't Velok, they don't get hurt. Make sure they know why we're here before doing anything." Aleidis insisted. "Once we've gotten what we can, we're leaving."

And then Aedan freakin' Miles spoke up - of course a whole fleet was coming to pick him up. Who went anywhere in a shuttle, anyway? She ordered her bridge to let the pirate go through - she had bigger fish to try today.

He closed the datapad. That last minute bid for a million...his research notes weren't worth that much. Ah, well. He watched as police began swarming the area, sighing. Oh great. Hot artifacts. He sighed, sipping his caf and walking, picking up a scone and eating it as he terminated the program on his data pad. He walked around. He looked at the forces and sighed. "Oi, who's in charge here? Am I being held? Or can i head back to Ithor? I've got some paperwork to catch up on..."

As soon as Republic forces were given the green light, Daella boarded a ship to travel to the surface of the planet. Eventually, she rendezvoused with @[member="Selena Halcyon"]'s group just before they approached the Auction House.

Aedan glanced over at @[member="Juthan'Athar"] and nodded as he thought. He had rode down in his Devastator-class heavy fighter which left the shuttles for him to ride in. "Yea you can ride with Alpha Squad we will drop you off at Void later for now." He looked down as his comlink clicked once and he grinned. "Our rides here. Remember boys be nice and lets just get off planet." As a pirate anything he had said about giving things up was probably not true if they knew that or not wasn't his business. He started to activate his fighter calmly as he watched his soldiers file into their shuttles.

Order was given and that's all Selena needed to hear. "We move then," she said to those around her. Her lightsaber was in hand but not ignited. No need to turn it on but being ready for anything was important. The occupants of the building might be less than willing to comply with the order of the republic. Many within it probably were not exactly the most legitimate of people around.

As she got close to the entrance she called out to the guards at the front. "Stand down by order of the Galactic Republic, we are seizing the occupants of this building by order of the Chancellor due to the sell of illegal goods. Your compliance will stand in your favor."

As soon as @[member="Selena Halcyon"] gave the signal, Daella fell in line with her forces and entered the building as well. She also held her unignited lightsaber in hand. She stood to the right of Selena.

@[member="Sargon Vynea"] was in a private room of the auction house, and his comms were being relayed through the transceiver on his Permanence-class Battleship, a short hyperjump away. At his summons, Ashin answered, and quickly, from her holocomm on Lujo.

"Cooperate with the Republic unless you're in danger, Governor Vynea," she said. "Contruum is disputed space, but a good portion of its people hate the Republic for backing a failed terrorist insurgency. Tread lightly."

Diana followed closely behind Selena, she had a stark look of determination on her face. She wanted to get back the artifacts. The master called out to the guards in front of the Auction House, Diana pulled one of her lightsabers from her hip, though she did not ignite the weapon either. She did not have to be aggressive when it was not called for.

Instead she backed up the Jedi Master, ready for anything.

Dammit! Domino's punch of frustration against the gilded bannister left a neat row of small indents and her hand hurting. Outbid at the last second and the auction closed early. Fracking Republic ruining stuff. Reaching into her coat pocket where it was draped over the back of the chair next to hers, Domino produced a cigar from its case and light it up, trying to use it to ease tension. Well it was just the one bid she'd lost out on after all. Examining her pad showed that her competitor had apparently missed the fact that she'd bidded him way up on lot E. But it was time to go, there wasn't any real point in sticking around.

Standing, she draped her coat over her shoulders and headed out, still slightly agitated by it all. In the bright sunlight outside, she glared out over the black uniforms of her forces at who she surmised were those belonging to the Republic. "We're leaving now." She announced to no-one in particular after drawing in a breath of smoke and started down the steps of the auction house. Around her, the division hastily packed and loaded up in their vehicles to follow. Their leader walked ahead of them, seemingly unconcerned by being a darksider surrounded by jedi and Republic forces or that there was even the slightest chance of a conflict breaking out.

((Dang you people are posting fast))

The second the chancellor gave the order Jorin was on the ground with his team. Stacked up along one of the entrances Jorin kicked in the door, blaster's raised. "Everyone down this is a raid!" He announced loudly as the best of the best Republic Operators moved into the room blaster's raised as the ushered everyone to the ground as they looked for the whiplid Velok. He wouldn't escape this time. @[member="Vorhi Alestrani"] would find himself being lead toward the floor by Jorin himself. "Stay down, this auto on is not only illegal, but Republic business. So just stay low and mind yours." He ordered.

With a salute Sargon shut off his communications to the Grand Admiral and opened another to @[member="Aleidis Ijet"]. ::Greetings, Chancellor, I see we have a bit of a situation going on. I've spoken with Grand Admiral Karrde, and will remain in private viewing room D until your forces arrive. I'm more then willing to co-operate we were unaware of the illegal nature of this auction.:: It was about as co-operative as he could get in truth. Taking off his weaponry he put them by his sear and waited turning on the holovid to watch some live news coverage of the event.

As Domino made her move Selena was well aware of it. The lack of compliance with the orders that were given were frustrating. Those that tried to flee the scene would certainly have to be detained. All they were doing was making the situation far more difficult for them. She looked over to the local police forces working in line with the Republic troops. Those trying to flee might take more kindly to local faces. "Please inform the military group that is trying to fleet that any effort to escape will be hindered with force. Complying with a search and interrogation will lead to a quick release."

The stammering policeman got a cold look from Domino as she quietly smoked her cigar and stared him down into silence. Then taking from her mouth with the standard smoker hold, she breathed out the smoke before answering. "No." The column of troops continued on. AT-SJs filled the street three abreast and the Hammer Walkers gingerly followed in their place in the line while foot soldiers filled the gaps. Thinking back on it, the Twi'lek was a little glad she'd gone overboard yet again.

Aboard his StealthX the Demon's Shadow, Zaiden ran through the engine startup process. Soon enough his silent ship lifted slowly, and Zaiden aimed far and fast off into he distance. He would break for space as soon as he was out ofrange.

Darron watched the 6'9 man who was far too big to be quiet suddenly, and magically dissapear with "magic." He could only sit and wait, the Republic was coming in, and the last thing he needed was muddle the situation. Being there under orders from the GrandMaster to investigate and try to get anything of worth back would have to be enough.

If they tried to arrest him, he'd simply leave.

Aedan Miles laughed loudly as he was told to stop his fighter and the shuttles. He shock his head as he saw the ships that made up the Dragon Armada fill his view screen. "This is Captain Miles wishing you Republic personnal good luck with your searches and @[member="Cody Jorin"] if you are here I just wanted to say greetings. He can vouch for me I am one of the people you can actually trust for the most part." With that Aedan shut his coms down and started to dock with his ships activating his comlink once more he opened a channel to the Republic task force command ship. "Supreme Chancellor this is Captain Miles of the Dragoon's Roost requesting permission to leave the system sense your people have decided that I am NOT allowed to leave unless I adhere to your laws in contested space." @[member="Aleidis Ijet"].

Vulpesen watched the unfolding scene with intrest. He was far from able to create any real calls to action, however he could make suggestions, and he was certain that he would. He pressed the com button again, despite the protests of the technician working the computer. "Chancellor, if we have any interdictor's then I would suggest creating a ring around the planet to avoid any hyperspace jumps." The words were calm and collected. He'd spent years reading about events such as this, and now he was actually living it. Padawan or not, Vulpesen was proud to be a jedi, and he intended to enjoy every minute of his position in the order. @[member="Aleidis Ijet"] @[member="Cody Jorin"]

Kei had been on standby, not willing to go against the council's wishes as much as he'd wanted to, as much as he owed @[member="Velok"] another meeting for what he'd done, he'd waited for the call from the senate. The unit he was training needed to show they were willing to wait for the all clear, he couldn't let his personal desire jeopardize what they were attempting to create. The Epicanthx tensed his gloved hands, dressed in a tanned temple robe, more like a tunic with a black undershirt, trousers tucked into black boots. Onboard the landing shuttle, with several of the wildcards ready to breach any makeshift defenses in the way, by any blacksun, or other element. The Jedi still saw the lives the temple had lost that day, their deaths and screams as poison had wracked their bodies, drained of all life, and that he had only been able to save a handful.

That is why he was really here... for those who could not be here themselves. That and to make sure it didn't happen again, to bring peaceful order to what could otherwise be very dangerous artefacts in the wrong hands. Thankfully it seemed the meeting would be more peaceful than the units officer's had planned for, still they made their landing in transports fast and hard, small squads of six, moving as they were trained and detaining anything or anyone who stopped them. Weapon's on stun, no grenades used unless they were needed, the resistance was light as they touched down. Landing ramp extending, light bleeding in, and letting the Jedi touch foot on the ground. With very few people giving the unit any trouble, those that did were hit hard and fast, just like their unit had prepared for, moving light and with a purpose to establish a defensive perimeter.

"Surround and detain are our orders, no lethal ammunition unless you have no other choice. You know the drill and your orders, make the republic proud."

Vorhi glared at the man pointing a gun at him calmly. He sighed. "Holster it. I am Vorhi Alestrani, and pursuant to diplomatic channels, you don't have the right to question me without consular representation," he said calmly. "Now, I don't want to deal in a bunch of paperwork, and you don't want to hold a known diplomat at gunpoint. So, holster that weapon and let me know what manifest of stolen goods you're hunting for. Otherwise, I'm going to go back to my ship and take a nap," he said with unwarranted authority. The ball was in their court. Either they'd corroborate what's been done, or they'd have to let him be. Their call.

IC/ Yes, Velok had left the system, but Force Phantom was a terribly difficult technique. Best approached over distances less than the interstellar ones. Contruum had a very substantial number of moons -- two large ones, a good handful of smaller ones -- and it was from one of those moons that Velok's Aleph-class disengaged. He hadn't managed to fix the cloaking device that Diana Moridena had broken on Tython. For assets, the Aleph-class -- the fastest starship in the galaxy -- had only its engines. And the Dark Lord currently burning the Darkstaff's accumulated power to dampen his presence and hide the priceless starfighter from detection as he approached the command ship.

The cockpit popped; the space-suited Whiphid, Darkstaff in hand, floated free, and a thruster pack slowed his approach to the bridge viewport. The bridge crew was treated to two roughly simultaneous experiences. One: A sudden, point-blank sensor contact, a starfighter they'd just all somehow...missed. The Aleph-class drifted gently outside the bridge alongside number two: An eight-and-a-half-foot-tall Whiphid with a space suit and an immense crooked staff. The Dark Lord's speciality, insofar as he had one, was contained in the manipulation of energy. The glasteel warped around him delicately, superheating, and smoke rose from his damaged space suit as he stepped into the bridge. The glasteel re-formed imperfectly behind him, and the moment of depressurization ended.

"Good evening, Chancellor," said Velok.
