The Holocron Auction

A holographic projection of the Grand Marshal appeared from the datapad that was clutched within the young Master's hand. He had been keeping an eye on the proceedings and had all but literally smacked his face on the desk when Denko had recalled his biddings. Rendering a polite bow to the one officiating, the clone spoke with the utmost respect.

"One thousand pardons good sir, my elected representative for this venture was ignorant to the ways of the auction house. On behalf of the Confederacy, I apologize for this monumental error and hope that you will allow us to participate in the second round of bidding. I assure you, this slip up will not occur again."

The Toydarian nodded slowly.

"Marshal Rostu, naturally you may participate."

The Toydarian coughed gently when the Emperor withdrew his bid. But one did not call out an Emperor in person. He grimaced and decided to let it slide.

Domino's pulse quickened when she saw that the book was here of all places. It had slipped through her fingers half a millennia ago on Ossus, and she'd despaired ever getting a second chance at it despite calling on the best of information brokers she could and trying everything she could to pick up its trail again. She'd even been about to go to the sith archives herself to find it. It showing up in a public auction was almost insulting, laughable. She wouldn't be letting it get away again. She started high and would go from there, but on her personal Data pad she began rousing her accountants.

The initial round of bidding had done quite a number on the recent acquisition of surplus funds that the Confederacy had come into, but they still had enough to effectively participate without doing any sort of damage to the nation's economy. As such, the clone happily bid upon the first item of interest.
  • Lot B - 10,000 credits.

An ice blue glare turned on Cade Lee.

"Dick," Mikhail muttered.

When Blastech went bankrupt from this, he would be there to watch it fall. Maybe he'd even give it a shove.

Darth Vazela reclined in his seat, when @[member="Domino"] placed her own bid on the book. He considered his options, then went forward with the bidding.

Lot D: The Book of Sith, one million credits.

In a private hail to the mysterious buyer, Vazela spoke in an eerily whisper, "Pull out of the auction... Before you regret it."

It was with great embarrassment that the auction house's staff confirmed an error in their system. A bid of half a billion credits had been entered for Ludo Kressh's pedicure kit, and had been missed by the system -- but, more importantly, by all other bidders. The item would go to Bellalika. In apology, the auction house had arranged to procure, early, an item from the third round at the suggestion of the anonymous donor. For her money, Circe was presented with a motheaten scroll containing a minor Sith spell -- Memory Rub.

"Well, some of us have hidden talents. Your's is that you're always sad about the bad things you've done. I'm just smart and have business acumen."

Little did he know that the average profits of Blas-Tech per world where in the few hundreds of billions.

They were a Galactic based company that had existed for over a millenia, and the new CEO had just cut deals to where it didn't have to pay that many taxes. In short, Cade knew his economics and had spent 4 billion dollars from what his salary was in a company averaging trillions a year in PROFIT. Not to mention the release of a new weapons line that was barely meeting demand, an ammunition type that was only able to be obtained by said company, and new armors and walkers. With the new deals cut by these governments, he had no overhead expenses as long as he lowered his prices in exchange for long term deals and exclusivity clauses. This was change, and change Cade would use in his free time, unlike a slacking snarkinator.

"10 million lot D. 2.5 billion on E." Zaiden called from the back of the room, shrouded in shadows the entirety of the time thus far. Having seen two items of dire use, he would spend a great deal of his own Noble banks, along with the amassed income from James armor co.

And someone was threatening her, this day was just fantastic! She'd faced down a master of the Jedi Council as well as several Sith Masters, she could handle one more. Rather than respond in kind, Domino sought him out through the force, first focusing on the other darksiders present, and then eliminating the ones she knew, until she was left with just one seething in anger. Then she whispered into his mind. Feeling a little inadequate are we? But then, resorting to petty threats is a neophyte's tactic. She left it at that, drawing back, Domino shielded herself from any potential mental retaliation. That's when she heard the new bid, which was actually what she had just been about to lay down. Ah well, if you wanted something you had to pay for it. How would her would-be intimidator feel about this?
