The Hunted (Apprentices/Padawans/Initiates)

Yakoza listened to the words of the bald warrior, and couldnt help but smile. It took this long to figure that out? "A prison this is not. Long it has taken you to find this, a sign it is." Yakoza's gravely voice came from within his cell, almost seeming to laugh while speaking, "All Force Sensitive we are, yet listen to the Force none of you will. A reason for us being here there is. Death it is clearly not."

The man felt the need to brag about his 'killing' in the name of the Empire. Obviously he was not as experienced as hed have one believe, or else he would nor feel the need to do so. Yakoza had lived for hundreds of years, spending the most part training his abilities on the weak and helpless. Despite this, he felt no need to boast.

"Out of the cages, our lives in our own hands, this is what we must contemplate. Slip through the bars, someone of my size can. What of you?" The furball asked with an arched brow, taking a shallow breath as he slowly pushed the cells of his hands through molecules of the bars - something he had learned himself capable once upon a time. With his cane in his left hand he smiled, they had been imbecilic enough to leave him a weapon. What of the others?

"Objects to defend with, seek them."

Edison listened to the discussion quietly. Some had decided to not reply to her question, which surprised her, since it was a simple one. Perhaps they couldn't speak or understand, or perhaps couldn't follow the simplest of questions. In any case, she was beginning to understand.

"It seems we're all Force users who are just beginning to be trained. We were all removed from our normal activites, knocked out, and brought here for something."

She listened to Yakoza. The little creature had a point. Weapons, even small ones, could prove helpful. On the other hand, whoever kidnapped this many Force users would surely have ways to keep them in line.

It was clear to the young Witch. She had been right all along. The Rakata, hidden for thousands of years but continuing to pull the galaxy's strings from behind their illuminated curtain. They were taking Force using students and experimenting on them in order to cure their own Force-blindness. It was so obvious!

Before she could speak her conclusion aloud, however, all the cell doors unlocked and slid open. Blinking at the opening, Edison took two tentative steps forward, hands outstretched defensively in case it was a trap.

A voice filled the corridor; Edison recognized it as Harq's. "There is an open door at the end of the hallway, and a ramp leading upwards. We have decided to forgo dinner and allow you to forage for yourselves, since you seem to be getting restless. You will have thirty standard minutes to hide, after which the game will begin. Now I should tell you that my clients have paid a good deal of credits to participate in this hunt, so I hope you won't disappoint. Your thirty minutes starts...now."

The Witch took a quick look around the cell. Finding nothing substantial enough to use as an improvised weapon, she took off to her right and headed for the door. "We'll regroup outside!" she called over her shoulder.

Moving only slightly slower than his earlier pace, Yakoza moved towards the door and then through it. When outside, he again gently picked up the pace. There was no reason to hurry, else the Force would be screaming. Admittedly, she whispered softly to him now to tread carefully, but that didn't change his cold reserve. Nothing could scare those lacking fear.

Holding his cane tighter, he suddenly shot into the air. Landing a dozen yards ahead he smiled and continued walking. As long as he was in the lead, even if there were threats, he would be last to worry.

star quickly ran out following @[member="Edison Bulkhead"] keeping up with her as she looked around for anything useful a tree limb a rock something would be great" ok umm edison you got a plan i hope right? "star said as she kept running beside her

Krest blinked for a moment. Thirty minutes to hide..? Clients to participate in a hunt? Someone was hunting them? The Zabrak's eyes narrowed immediately and he took off like an arrow out of the doorway. He pressed a palm to his right leg, feeling around for the slot he had built into it. If it wasn't going to open like it should, he'll rip it open. His blade should be still in there. And if it is, these 'clients' will experience a roll reversal real quick.

Once he reached outside he stopped and looked around for a moment, curious on the landscape.

What can one say to such a task, he only rushed out after a few people got out of the way of the door. The girl that named @[member="Edison Bulkhead"] had moved away before anyone else it seems. The objective of the game would be to work to together but he was held up by another person trying to escape. Pity, he would have rather worked with someone but now it seems that everyone was going separate ways. If he could caught up, he would do so with someone that he could use.

That was when he spotted tall, dark and filled with horns? Much worse than he expected, so he decided to do something very like himself. Walking up on his side, he wore his hood over his head as spoke to @[member="Krest"]

" Hey lets stick together, you seem like a guy looking to confront these clients. I can help you with that, plus it's better than being picked off one by one. What do you say?"

Krest grunts. "You any good with a blade? I'm going to try and get the two on me to work again." He glanced at @[member="Grimm"], curious. It was very true he planned to fight, and out of all of the apprentices stuck here he had an advantage. He worked as a bodyguard before deciding to join the Templars, so he was use to fighting without the Force as an aid. Regardless, if Grimm could use a blade he'd give him the one stuck in his leg and use his wrist saber to fight.

Here's hoping I can get this blasted thing to work again. And that this hooded guy can fight. The Zabrak frowns, thinking to himself for a moment, but focuses back in on Grimm, waiting for an answer.

Thirty minutes until a hunt. Excellent. A hunt meant tension, which in turn grew to to fear, which in turn bred power. All he had to do was encourage that a little, isolate the hunters one on one, and he'd have them. Leaving his cell he joined the group and began to to subtly prod at the mind of @[member="Krest"], trying to incite and encourage his fear. He was not yet strong in the Force so he'd wager he wouldn't get far, but he also wagered the Zabrak was not trained to resist mental attack, especially one so subtle.

Unfortunately, Krest wasn't afraid. He wasn't nervous or on edge in the slightest. He was trained as a bodyguard, taught to be calm under pressure, and more importantly, resist mental influence. But he wasn't trained to track the source of such an attack, only on how to resist it. But he didn't resist the actual infliction of fear. His mind raced as he felt the presence, thinking he had rejected it. He figured it had to do with the hunt and had nothing to do with @[member="Nyarl"] or any of the other apprentices. So his gaze narrowed as he turned, looking back over the field.

"Someone is trying to get into our heads."

Grimm looked at the guy, he had offered him a blade. That was what he could most definitively can do with, his were all taken and his knives were gone. If he had them, he would surely kill the entire lot without a second thought. The damn smugglers or whoever they are going to pay. So what his best response for this type of matter...quite simple work with it.

"I can do more than fight with a blade, I can insure you of that."

That was when he felt an aura of energy, pass by him. He was more adept to his force powers because of his half-elf species and looked towards the direction. It had to be one of the captured or a hunter...so he only smirked at the first move.

" I see, lets go deal with the trouble maker personally. What do you say?"

@[member="Krest"]

Krest shook his head at @[member="Grimm"]. "Not yet. I need to get my leg open first. Once I pry that free, then we'll find this trouble maker yeah?" The Zabrak looked around the area, frowning. "Think we'll find any tools out here mate?" Any sort of tool would allow him to fix his hand and his wrist no problem. Then he'd have at least two of his blades back. Where the third one was.. Well. He aimed to find out.

Edison felt the cool rush of air hit her face as she and the others made it out of the building and onto a dirt path. Overhead, the twilight sky was darkening, shades of blue giving way to reds and purples above the thick treeline. The air was moist, humid. Stopping quickly to look behind her, the Dathomir Witch say that the building they'd all exited was a low ziggurat, square-topped, and only four stories. Everything important must be underground, she reasoned. Probably shielded, too.

She paused only for a moment. "So clearly they want our brains and our blood to make themselves powerful again," she said aloud, which made no sense to anyone who didn't know what she'd been thinking below. "But they aren't getting mine. I figure if these hunters got to this planet, there must be a way off. We need to find it, and --"

The ground beneath them shook, as if an earthquake was rattling the earth beneath them. Except it wasn't an earthquake at all, and the not-too-distant roar confirmed that.

"Acklay," said Edison quietly, looking in the direction of the roar. "Suh-weet." Her face brightened and she turned to face the other. "I'm going that way. Who's coming with me?"

@Krest @Grimm @Nyarl @Yakoza @Namarii @Sophia Walsh @Kira Liadain

Krest rubbed the back of his head. "Well, I don't see why we don't go check out the Acklay without weapons.. So sure." Oddly enough he was serious, this wouldn't be the first time he's gone after a beast with only his hands. Sides, if he can get part of that things claw off he could use it to pry open his leg and get his saber, and his tools.

Dashing into the trees, Editson felt her hed clearing with each step as whatever drugs these hunters had used to sedate her wore off. Must be some horrible alien compound that gets counteracted with oxygen, she reasoned. They want their prey active, not sluggish.

They had only moved several hundred yards before Edison pulled up. A corpse lay at her feet. Reaching out with the Force the Witch could tell there was no life, but she did see a crude, handmade knife still clutched in the fist of what had once been a Quarren, probably. It was hard to tell given the state of decomposure, but the remains of what looked like several facial tentacles remained on the mangled skull. "Anybody need a knife?" she asked, even as she reached out with the Force to find her real target.

Krest takes the knife, frowning. He wasn't too keen on cutting open his leg, but it was just machinery underneath the flesh. Machinery that hid another of his swords. He thrust the blade into his thigh, gritting his teeth hard. Sythflesh still hurt, but for now he was determined.

He pried open the hatch, growling lightly under his breath. But it was working. Working well enough for him to slip his free hand in and pull out the hilt of his saber. A grin formed on the Zabrak face as he held it. The red blade came to life for a moment before he turned it off, setting it on his side.

"And with that we have a saber."

"Wow," murmured Edison. "That's...that's really something." Hiding a lightsaber inside your own leg? What kind of person did that? she wondered. Someone with a mechanical leg and a secret compartment, she anwered herself. Makes sense, she decided. She took the knife back from Krest.

"I'm not sure where everyone else has gotten to," she said, turning her back on the Knight and starting to climb the wooded hill to her left, "but as far as I'm concerned they're on their own. If you want to tag along with me that's fine. Honestly, there may be safety in numbers." She didn't wait for a reply, but continued up the hill. At several spots it grew quite steep and the witch found herself grabbing onto tree roots and small saplings to pull herself up, but after three minutes or so she topped the rise. And stared.

The tree-lined hill gave way to a massive valley beneath her. She stopped now to look back. From this height, she could see the top of the building where they'd all been kept, but the ground was completely different. "This place, this whole damn place, has been terraformed," she mused. In the middle distance she saw the acklay she's heard earlier, and past that, nearly a day's walk in the distance, in fact, she saw a massive lake on the horizon. To the east of that, however, lay a desert. "It's like they've set aside specific areas...but how's that possible? You can't have a desert next to a forest. The treeline on that side doesn't even thin out. It's like a wall."

Something was definitely going on here, and Edison didn't like it one bit.
