- Demographics: The highest demographic of "beings" that inhabit the the Karina Cloud are droids of all types. Making up the main backbone of laborers and defense forces. Up next is a sizable population of humans given with Geonosians following close behind since it's their system. Below them are races who's home worlds make up the CIS like Twi'leks, Rodians, and the Aqualish.
- Accessibility: Although the Karina Cloud isn't unacceptable to outsiders by laws or other means, it's still isolated based on where it is. Being well out of the way in the Geonosis System. Meaning someone will rarely ever just stumble upon it. So you will need to navigate your way to the cluster of small celestial bodies.
- Description: The Karina Cloud is a best described as a sort of Micro-Civilization. The cloud consist of many colonized asteroids and comets in the most distant parts of the Geonosis System. Its population settling on the inside of the asteroids and comets, and using their rotational force to give the structures inside artificial gravity. With each asteroid or comet acting much like their own local city state government or fiefdom.
- Karina's Jewel - Considered the Capital of the Karina Cloud, this asteroid dozens of kilometers in radius was one of the first celestial bodies colonized in the Karina Cluster. Taking up the role of a dense city within the rotating comet.
- Smog Rock - This settlement as taken the important roll of the main manufacturing hub of the cluster. With the highest population of droids and Geonosians within the entirety of the Karina Cloud. It's called Smog Rock from the main "exhaust pipe" that shoots the smog produced from inside the asteroid into space so organics could potential work and live there. Otherwise only droids were inhabit the asteroid.
- Pasture Point - This colony within the cluster is the main agricultural hub and producer of food stuffs for the collection of celestial bodies. Being one most sparsely populated asteroid or comet of importance to the cloud. It too having a hollowed out cylindrical interior with artificial sunlight running through it to keep the crops healthy.
SECURITY
- Medium - Along with it's isolation and relative obscurity, the Karina Cloud bolsters some mild defense in the event of coming across and aggressive force. Mainly using an impressive array of sensors to know of possible threats before hand. Having the sensors positioned on smaller, uninhabited comets and asteroids. As well as some V-150 Planet Defender to accompany them. In addition to this the Karina Cloud's own minor defense force can muster a small, dated fleet of mainly Munificent-Class Star Frigates with some other old CIS ships.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
During the time of the clone wars her majesty Karina the Great Queen of Geonisis made a plan to aid in the survival of her clan and the Geonosians as a whole. Foreseeing a potential defeat at the hands of the republic. She was worried the vengeful government would severely punish her and her people, if not to the point of extinction. As a way to ensure a longer lasting "empire" past her potential death at the hands of the republic.
So in taking the initiative, Karina the Great began the greater colonization of the large cluster of asteroids and comets, as the numerous and decentralized settlements would make the extermination of the Geonosians extremely difficult to see to completion. Since in theory newer colonies could pop up as soon as one was destroyed, like a big game of wack-a-mole. This became known as the Karina Cloud, named in her honor. Another thing to note is that many of the settlements are made of two parts. One being the main, cylindrical body of the settlement and the asteroid itself. Where the cylinder is built inside the asteroid and rotates, creating the structure's own artificial gravity while saving on energy unlike with a ships gravity generators. The asteroid acts almost like and anchor, and protective shell for the settlement, sometimes not even being connected and rotating in the opposite direction.
Originally being a secret plan, after decades of relative isolation, even from their home planet, the industrious population began to dwindle as famine set in after an pathogen began to destroy their food stuffs. So they called out for help, letting themselves be known to their neighbors as a previously unknown quasi - sovereign state. This humanitarian effort it was introduced the new races to the Karina Cloud, who by now has long sense past away from the republic's forces much as she feared.
Fast forward to the 900th century ABY, and there has been some rather drastic changes to the Karina Cloud. First off is that Geonosians are no longer the dominate species of the cluster, that goes to the humans of the CIS, unless you count droids. With this the vast collection of settlements have made themselves a fully sovereign state within the CIS. With this the Karina Cloud has given itself a sort of aristocratic/feudal government. Acting like a collection of fiefdoms where lords rule over their respective settlements. Most of them can and do hold the position for life. Each settlement gains its aristocrat or aristocrats in its own way giving them a better sense of self governance. STaCLO is a droid lord of one of these settlements.
However, the collective of aristocrats when put together is called the Karina Estate. Where they can often meet on Karina's Jewel in maters of larger importance. Typically as external affairs or matters that can effect the entirety of the Karina Cloud. This functions very similarly to the separatist or republic senates of old. The Karina Commonwealth is the came of this rather small nation.
