The Natures of Padawans

"One of them yours T?" Asked a familiar voice, well hopefully still familiar, he'd helped her find her lightsaber after all, and then there was the zombies, which was always interesting. Emerging from the shadows to meet @[member="Tallia Farn"] was Cale Gunderson, who simply wanted to watch over they dueling prawns, and if one was masterless, perhaps he would take them as his own apprentice. He'd once again, returned from a several month stretch in the outer rim, doing what Sentinels did and crushing the darkness in the galaxy. Now that he returned, he was hoping to take on a pupil.

The Wayward of Clan Qarmast
[dear god you guys are posting fast]

Nico was lost kind of she hadn't expected it to go as fast as it had and now as she stood there listening to the others. She didn't really know what to say but took in the others who were dueling unless a sixth one joined in there wouldn't be much reason to jump in or try to fight the lot of them... At least not without raising questions. Only one in the entire order knew where she had been so it was best to play at it carefully. The first step was avoiding getting angry and the second was to have some fun. So Nico moved back and stood off to the side a little.

As soon as she saw the two boys slip into position, she struck. muttering a quiet 'good luck' to @[member="Nala Tu"], Akodya rushed forward with surprising speed at @[member="Olaf Freesa"], gracefully taking her chance at slashing at Olaf's little body. She deliberately made her attack easy to block an avoid as it was after all just a training match, but the impatient feelings from earlier she had been trying to ignore had boiled up, making her attack more aggressive then she'd usually do. Her movements were balanced and precise, but she had been told many a time she focused to much on the actual formation of the strikes then her opposition. Dueling was not her strongest feature as a Jedi, as she had dedicated more of her time to learning how to heal when she was younger...but it made this experience much more rewarding for her. She had not yet noticed the two knights that had stopped to watch the padawan's little training session.

Nala looked nervous when @[member="Valx Raizod"] revealed his second blade, making her whisper "...oh dammit." before taking a deep breath.

She was the first to strike, going for an overhead attack before trying to swipe for his side. Her tactic was to fight and defend as much as possible, to prolong the duel and examine her opponents movements. When she knew he would block her attacks she made a maneuver to get to his back to swipe at it from behind.

Valx didn't even notice his master walk in. Instead he took a few more paces toward @[member="Nala Tu"]. He could see her clearer now, make out more distinct features. He lunged forward, twisting his tonfa out from his wrist, towards her belly, while blocking from the top. So much for Soresu style. Valx didn't know why, but he felt more aggressive, which was a bad thing. Aggression meant emotion, and emotion was a tool of the Sith. And he was not a Sith. They would definitely have to work on that...

"Your move, Nala," Valx stated plainly.

He focused on her and her only. Anticipating her movements, and using her own energy against her. Lunge, parry, counter, lunge, parry, counter...

Tallia turned around at hearing the familiar voice from behind. "Yes, though I'm still not sure what the council was thinking assigning me an apprentice, I just don't think I'm ready, and he's kind of old to be beginning his training, and, and..." She said, then realized she was rambling. "And it's good to see you again Cale."

@[member="Cale Gunderson"]

She came on fast, perhaps a little faster than he expected, but he could handle it. Using his natural agility he dropped back and leapt over @[member="Akodya Mune"] evading her strikes and landing behind her. He'd swing the small saber in his hands at the back of her legs in a calm and controlled manner, this was just training after all. Even in combat he had been gentle, not wanting to cause more harm than was absolutely needed, only actually striking a person if the situation called for it. This way of thinking had put him on the spot several times, the young goblin type creature would have to overcome his naivety if he was to survive, but it would come in time.

Cale only laughed, pulling back his hood and standing beside @[member="Tallia Farn"]. "It's fine, I don't mind the rambling, and it's goo to see you too Tallia." He responded, before taking in mind what she had said. "You're more than ready T, I'm sure you can handle the kid, the council know what they're doing. The kid is in good hands." Cale added with a friendly smirk.

Tallia wished she could be as confident as Cale was at the moment. She didn't usually let her emotional side show while she was around other beings, but she couldn't help but feel nervous as she watched the dual. "So what about you? Do you have a padawan?" It had been a while since she had seen Cale, so she decided that some catching up was in order.

He avoided Akodya's attack easily, quickly leaping over her and landing directly behind her. The girl turned in time to jump to the side, escaping the smaller padawan's swing at her legs. Akodya's mind was whirling, studying the goblin like padawan with a glint of curiosity in her eyes. Rather then block her attack, he decided to place himself in a position that gave him an advantage. He was faster and more agile then she originally thought. At least she now had an idea of how he fought. Closing her eyes, Akodya manipulated the force and sent a small pulse of what would have looked like an invisible wave, forcing @[member="Olaf Freesa"] back a bit without causing him to much harm so there was some distance between them.

"You're really fast, you know that?" She said to him with a smile, calming down a little. This was training. Not a battle.

Nala nodded at @Valx Raizod before making her move. She took a step forward and did a fake out, making him think she'd attack at his right but instead his left. When he counter she moved to his right, trying to find a blind spot, before attacking for his back. Despite if it had worked she then jumped over and tried to attack from the other side, regardless of if he turned or not. She was trying to see how well he was at a sudden change in direction an opponent would make in a fight, as well as trying to find another good point to hit him effectively.

"Had one, but the bird left the nest." Cale replied with a laugh, looking away from @[member="Tallia Farn"] as his thoughts wandered to Azrael and if he was doing alright. "So how have things been with you? Besides the whole new paddie?" He questioned, not wanting to focus on his exceedingly complicated family life. Sure it had all turned out well, but his twin brother had a clone, and that concept made his head hurt.

As soon as @[member="Nala Tu"] had moved Valx leapt back, evading her. "Not today, Tu," Valx thought to himself. He sprinted forward, into a roll, then springing out towards her with his lightsabers. He brought the left out into a sweeping motion, anticipating her dodge. She was fast for a Kaminoan, he'd give her that much. Valx landed on his feet and circled her, now realizing that his master, @[member="Tallia Farn"] was watching.

Olaf only chuckled at the remarks of @[member="Akodya Mune"]. Yes, he was fast, leaping to one side of the mat then to the other then towards Akodya at a shocking speed, he swung for her gut with a quick but light strike. It wouldn't even hurt, but Olaf had an advantage, he had his speed, and he planned to use it to the maximum amount that one could. But his opponent had size and strength on her side, both formidable strengths to play against the little green man that she was facing off against today.

"Eh, things have been slow ever since this treaty with the Sith was signed." Tallia had a personal hatred for Sith. She had never had a love for them, but since one had tried to torment her and eventually kill her on her first mission, she hadn't been feeling especially compassionate towards them. Tallia had even thought of running off to join a group of rebels within the Empire, but that would have been an overly naive on her part.

She took a moment to watch her padawan @[member="Valx Raizod"]. He was surprisingly light on his feet for being so tall, and he seemed to be handling himself well. "He has a lot of potential." Tallia thought to herself

She turned back to Cale. "Not that I want war, but I think we need to stand up for ourselves. Someone needs to shut down the Empire's tyrannical expansion."

Akodya managed to block his blade just in time, the two sabers clashing as they both fought for dominance. Eventually the blades broke a part and the brunette padawan was at it again, sharply swinging at @[member="Olaf Freesa"]'s limbs. At the corner of her eye she could see @[member="Valx Raizod"] circling her teammate @[member="Nala Tu"] like a vinecat would do with it's prey. quickly she called upon the force again and aimed to throw a small rock at the two bladed padawan's shoulder, hoping to give Nala an opportunity to strike while he was caught off guard. When she was turning back to her own fight two figures caught her attention. Two Jedi she had never met before were watching the four padawans and making small talk with one another.
"Do you know who they are?" Akodya asked Olaf.

Cale listened to @[member="Tallia Farn"] intently, she had no love of Sith, but he held sympathy for some of them. His master had been a Sith, his brothers had been Sith, and there were plenty of Sith he actually felt bad for. But there were others, those who didn't get his sympathies, some he would cut down in a heartbeat. Since the war had ended, Cale had been out of the temple often, only returning once to help Galen redeem himself and come back into the light, making him brother number 2 he'd saved from darkness.

He looked back at Tallia, meeting her eyes momentarily, by accident of course. "I agree with 'ya T, their like a pack of hungry akk dogs we've simply let roam the galaxy freely, they need to be stopped."

Nala tried was starting to get nervous as her tactics were being outdone by @Valx Raizod . She tried to attack, even thought she knew he'd likely block it and use some counter attack on her. Still she did so and, to her surprise, saw the rock fly past her shoulder towards him. She gave a quick look back to @Akodya Mune and said "Thanks!" before focusing on defending herself from Valx.

She was too wrapped up in the fight to notice the two knights watching her and the others which was likely for the best. She felt enough pressure as it was, but having two experienced Jedi watching her would only place more burden on her mind.

Valx was so deep in concentration that when the rock hit him, he flinched badly. Great. He was out of focus and caught off guard. He took several steps back from @[member="Nala Tu"] to distance himself.

"Thanks, @[member="Akodya Mune"] that wasn't cheap at all," Valx muttered.

So that's how she wanted to play. Fine then. Valx cartwheeled back and slashed down onto Akodya's back. But he overshot, crashing face first onto the ground.

His head...his eyes...blood--Valx could feel blood on his forehead. His eyes felt like they would explode. He passed out.

Tallia was glad someone agreed with her. Something needed to be done, and soon. The longer the Jedi sat lazily in their temple, the longer the Republic's senators squabbled in their meetings, the more time the Sith had to set their disease into the wound, so to speak. Tallia was just about to say something to @[member="Cale Gunderson"] when @[member="Valx Raizod"] leaped carelessly over the Kaminoan's head and landed face first onto the floor.

She rushed over to the site and turned Valx over onto his back. "What did I tell him about patience." She muttered to herself.
