The Numbered Basics Of Melee [Dimah]

Dimah Nubaan, as her name now seemed to be, was still new to the Jedi Order. But that didn't mean she could slack on her training, obviously. Josh had arrived on Voss for their scheduled lesson, and had decided it was time to get more into detail with melee combat, to prepare Dimah to be able to use a lightsaber down the road.

As expected, she would find him mediating in the training room... Legs crossed, eyes closed...

As Dimah would make her way in, the Jedi Master would gingerly open his eyes, before turning to face the Padawan, taking a moment to scan her up and down before he would speak.

"Take a training saber. We will go over the basics of melee once again, by experience. By sparring" He would speak calmly as his eyes bore into her own. It was what he did best after all... Practice and practice until you get better.

She did as instructed, twirling the saber with emerging skill. She then pulled herself into a defence position.

"Ready, Master."

Her eyes glowed with an eager light.

He took a breath, slowly nodding his head in turn. Alright, well, first up...

"Proceed."

With that, he would draw his lightsaber, the blade flying from his belt into his right hand as he would ignite the blue blade, set to low power in order to keep from causing Dimah to lose an arm should he hit her. Getting into stance, he would motion for her to instead take the offensive and make the first move.

He could hear the HISSSS as their blades collided, followed by the crackle, before he would move his blade toward one side and use the shoulder on the opposing one to ram it into her body and send her back. Josh would hold off from there, keeping his guard up as he would wait for Dimah to attack again... Wanting to have her practice her offense.

She yelped as she fell, but pushed herself up again. Panting, she attacked again. After trading several blows, she training saber came down and....

Made a cut into her Master's saber arm. With a gasp of horror, Dimah stepped back, shaking.

"I'm sorry, Master, please forgive me!" She said multiple times in a rapid speech.

She ducked, covering her head with her arm.

(Please do not god mod in future posts. Thank you)

After trading several blows, Josh would take a slash to the saber arm. Of course, as the training sabers, as well as his own saber, were set to very low power, all it really did was sting a little and leave a bit of bruising. "Ow, chit!" He muttered low, about to counterattack when she would step back and screech, before ducking and covering her head.

He let out a sigh and shook his head. "It's fine. Let's continue. Guess this means I can step up a little bit" He would remark, seeing as he'd been taking it easy on her to let her attack and all. "I'm going on the offense, are you ready?"

[member="#24061"] would get into a defensive position as the Jedi Master would smirk lightly, before deciding to try something...

Making a show of pretending he was turning up the power on his lightsaber to full, he would attack with a flurry of slashes, aiming for her chest as each slash was quick, precise and to the point.

Of course they can't be turned up because training sabers are purposely meant to be low power so they can't be used to maim someone or the wielder. Especially the wielder. Either way, Josh would smirk lightly as he began to accelerate the pace of his attacks, striking with more of a ferocity.

(Oops...... Sorry, been focusing on my star wars FanFiction force group.)

She attempted to block and attack. The girl ended up onto the ground, but rolled up. She gave him a frightened smirk as she stood in a defensive gesture.

Deciding to teach her the importance of always expecting everything, the Jedi Master would backflip away from her attack, before brandishing his blade and charging forward, feinting and then suddenly crouching low and going for a roundhouse kick aimed square at her head from below her defenses.

Also because she tried to turn up the power on a training saber that would have probably killed him had she hit him had it actually been able to be turned up.

Having a feeling she would go for a physical strike and not a saber one after he did it himself, he would reach out an arm to grab at her leg when she would kick at his ribs. She had left herself open, with that,

Josh merely let her go when she would fall, shaking his head as he would point his lightsaber toward her throat.

"Dead."

His expression was cold as he spoke it, to let it settle in that she would have died in true combat. "You left yourself far too open for an attack. Nor did you have a plan for if this attack were to be countered" Josh would remark as he would disengage his lightsaber. "Also don't think I didn't see you trying to turn the power up on your lightsaber. What were you thinking? Yes, a training saber is permanently set to low power, but as you clearly did not know that, what was your aim? Were you purposely intending to kill or maim me?"
