The One Where HK Tries To Invade Alderaan [Metal Lord vs. FWC]

HK-36

Deep Space,
The Metal Lord - Free Worlds Coalition Border

A deep resonating boom would be heard aboard a Venator-class Star Destroyer as the ship phased into real-space, exiting the hyperspace tunnel as it finished its faster-than-light journey into the border region between Metal Lords and FWC.

"My lord we have arrived."

One of the droid officers aboard the Venator's bridge would inform HK and the machine would nod back,

"Excellent, get us into position."

The droid lord commander as he moved through his bridge to stand in front of the viewport, looking out into the darkness of space. He wouldn't be alone on the bridge however, not even in the sense of crew and other officers, as the droid invited [member="Faith Organa"] and/or [member="Draco Vereen"] to join him aboard his ship, an old derelict Venator refurbished and repaired into working condition, a lost echo of the former glory of Old Republic and now a great example of fully efficient scavenge-based Metal Lord architecture.

The large old vessel's hull was steel grey, some spots were slightly lighter or darker however, old scars of battles and signs where hull was repaired and patched up with new swats of repurposed durasteel from one of the many Metal Lord recycling forges. The Venator was currently heading into the halfway point of a designated battlefield as HK, along with Faith or other members of FWC leadership, would spectate the fight from aboard the ship.

The whole purpose of these shenanigans was a training exercise, a simulated battle between FWC and Metal Lords to test their newer designs, to a point, and run some drills, train just in preparation that one day their space would be invaded by someone who they would not mind firing upon with lethal weaponry, for example another raid upon Alderaan by the Imperial Remnant, as the droids' neighbors already had to suffer unwarranted aggression against them. Various ships from the two factions should be jumping into the border region soon enough, all modified with non-lethal ionic weaponry, of course, same with the crew and various marine forces aboard them, just to make sure there wouldn't be any accidental casualties that day.

There was still a chance for some terrible blunder, of course, but hopefully that would be avoided, otherwise, well they'll just cross that bridge when they'll get there.

Although he would not know what exactly FWC wanted to test and drill, the droid knew that he wanted a chance to see how the newer generation of Metal Lord fighters and larger capital ships performs, as well as ram one of their vessels with boarding corvettes to test his marine regiments.

AD-8s fleet exited hyperspace and started to head towards the rendezvous point with HKs fleet. His fleet consisted of 8 Freedom Class Cruisers, 4 Tom Falk Escort Carriers and his flagship, the A10 Commander Class Battlecruiser. He would be relying on the other Metal Lords for point defence against fighters as he hadn't brought any corvettes or frigates.
"I'm here and heading to the rendezvous point" He transmitted to [member="HK-36"]

"Prep the fighters and prepare for battle, remember to set guns to non-lethal, we're here for a training mission, not to kill people." AD-8 broadcast across the fleet.

He looked out the viewports and awaited the arrival of the 'enemy'.

A soft boom was heard if one could hear in space, near the Venator-class Star Destroyer as a lone, almost unsuspecting K-Type Cargo Ship was seen, trailling behind it as it was rather slow, moving almost at the pace of the Venator. While it seemed defenseless, when up close it would reveal its hidden features which consisted of quad laser turrets, concussion missile launchers, a hanger bay and even dual turbolasers. It was a VERY deadly heavy freighter in disguise and rarely seen in the Metal Lords of the Voids personal fleet though it is usually commanded by a high ranking officer due to its extensive modifications. That captain today was Haon Hafey, overlooking the bridge as several droids and humanoids worked all around him as they tapped on the consoles. The hanger bay was outfitted with ten T-32 Valkyries which were generously given for the exercise by HK-37. Another ship added into the hanger bay was none of than Haons personal ship, the Crystal-class Clawcraft which had been loaded with Magpulse missiles for this training exercise. One of the few men on the bridge started to speak, looking down towards them as he listened to the pit droid.

"Sir, we have reached the combat area, shall we alert them to our presence?"

"Hehe, no...let them realize who else is here. Right now with our jamming sensors among others, we are potentially one of the few looking as if we are spectators. Let us wait to show our full colors...though prepare out space craft, I do not want to be left...undefended."

The droid would nod and walk off as Haon slowly folded his arms, looking out towards the space in front of him as AD-8 fleet had entered the system with his own impressive fleet. He would note to having to go between them if he gets ambushed which thankfully, his corvette was designed for as he slowly sat in his captains chair, brushing over the name of the ship engraved on the chair, "Alarm." The Type-K Assault Corvette would slowly lumber ahead of the Venator-class Star Destroyer as it their system sensor came online, scanning from its current location all the way out to 100km, hoping to find any disturbance to at least give them an edge. As this was going on, he tapped onto the consoles to link up with the Venator so it would have a read out of what Haon saw on his consoles so at the very least, get them on the same page.

Faith wasn't really sure about this all the explanations were useful and she understood. But. Fighting their neighbors just seemed....inviting trouble. Faith's ship was headed towards the coordinates of [member="HK-36"] .

What was it about about the handling of a weapon, or shooting 'big guns' that made this so enticing to everyone. Was it the sparks that flew when something blew up? Or the knowledge that you bested someone else?

Or maybe it was more primal than that, maybe it fed the wolf in them all. The hunt, the stalking, and the adrenaline that came during and after. Sounded a lot like something else.

The Coalition ships were ready least that's what she was told now were they...only time would tell.

Her ship finally docked with HK's and she was escorted to where HK waited. "Lord Protector...do we have a wager on the outcome of this skirmish?" She had to do something maybe a bet would make it more interesting.

It was then while he and his men settled in to prepare to start by check their gear as well their ammo as they would in a normal mission. Though unlike normal mission this one was going be against a new ally. Who thought were consisted mostly of being that a few in his crew were familiar with facing off especially the vets having been in or around the trenches during the final battles before Alderaan won or regain its Independence. Thought they were maybe not of the same particular model or type they assume were close enough for them anticipate or plan what bring to the fight.

Albeit it was more of a mock battle rather than a real one it would still. Given the merits of the orders given prior to their launch a feasible one. The if nothing else given them a good benchmark as to the effectiveness of their squad as a whole. In order help them get prepared when the real one comes especially now that a new slew of threat emerged from the shadows of the Sith threat menace that was sweeping across near their borders. Where on top of being vigilant they must know if they're prepared to meet the challenges head-on.

And so once everyone was geared then inspected by him personally that they then moved off. Heading towards the hangar point of the ship wherein they were assigned. Then strapping he then opens his secure com and signal the pilot that they were ready awaiting the Princes Faith order for the joint mock war games exercise to commence.

"Roger that Lord Admiral AD-8, assume positions and initiate scans of the Alderaan fleet, I want to test our long-range bombardment capabilities and shield strength when the FWC are ready, hold fighters for now until the training starts."

While his transmission was meant mostly for AD, assuming he was the only commander really present at the moment, since HK himself was not completely aware of Haon's plan to conduct a mock ambush during the training, Hafey would be able to hear the command as well, so his ships would be kept on the same page too.

Meanwhile HK looked over the movement of ships under the command of [member="Ja’rrod Categaern"], tracking them on the holo-projector from which both him and [member="Faith Organa"] could see movements of the various ships and their statuses while taking part in their training exercise. Speaking of the Queen of Alderaan the droid would look to her, giving her a nod in greeting and a,

"Hey Faith,"

Glancing to the holo projector and motioning her closer towards it as she asked about the occasion to bet on the training exercise,

"I did not take you as a gambler, Faith, but we could have multiple wages since I want to conduct this in phases to train through multiple scenarios."

HK explained before looking to her back more,

"I wanted to do scanning first to check our capabilities to detect enemy weakpoints and loadouts at longer range and go into capital ship bombardment phase to see how our ships fare at taking on larger enemy vessels and our shields at dealing with counter-attack. This is fairly important to Metal Lords because until recently we did not had many ships bigger than frigates. If you want we can make a bet on whose shields will start to fail first, or whose scans will guess the number of starfighters carried aboard the opponent's biggest ship."

The droid offered, motioning to the holoprojector once more,

"Either way, my fleets are ready to start, so if the Coalition ships are ready just broadcast the word to begin."

SN's ship blasted through the atmosphere of Alderaan, even burning up some from his speed. Despite his ships bulky design, it had some powerful engines. As he got to where the exercise was being conducted, the droid saw how out classed he was. SN's hammerhead corvette, named Sledge-1, was very outdated. But it was very reliable, and with his personal modifications he had some interesting surprises up his sleeve. Plus he thought of himself as a rather skilled captain/pilot when it came to space combat, he had to be when dealing with bounties.

SN once again reminded his droid crew that this was an exercise, so to put everything to non-lethal, not even less-then-lethal. Getting his ship into a position with the rest of the FWC fleet he got ready. SN had fought alongside the Metal Lords before, so he understood that these were some hardy opponents.

It was then with the men with him all suited up and ready that he then sent the secured com message. Both short and to the point encrypted thru inform her highness that all was set. After which he then goes dark and divert half the force as he initiated plan alpha Zeta. Before pushing ahead Rendevous with her highness ship and come to a complete stop to her flank.

Faith nodded and sent the signal for the teams to begin. She was not quite sure on all the tactics they were going to use but either way it would be exciting to watch. Exciting only that no one would die, this was to keep fleet skills honed.

"I gamble every once while, what's life without a little uncertainty in it. I gambled on Draco years ago and now look at us..hes a fat cat mandalorian sitting on a fur pillow leaving his socks everywhere." She laughed.

Faith moved to watch the ships on the holo, "While we might be snug as bugs here at the heart of the galaxy we know, or I know, that we can take struck down." Yes they could lose everything. So they would watch.

By the time SN got the green light he was more then eager to get going. The second he got the memo that they were ready he had his ship make a b-line to the center of action that he hoped would get to most of it. He was acting kinda silly and reckless for what was suppose to be a training exercise. But to the droid, he just pictured like sport. Just then he grabbed a microphone for the ships intercoms so his droid crew could hear him."Alrighty, get all the weapons engaged for when the enemy comes into range, anything isn't friendly should be fired upon. Be relentless with those twin canons."

"Roger Roger" His co-pilot replied. Meanwhile SN wondered whether or not his surprises could be crossing the line for the training or not. He wasn't sure if trying to board one another wouldn't be accepted, even though this was a simulation. Eventually the droid concluded that it should be fine since everything on the ship was currently outfitted to be non-lethal.

It was then while waiting for an order from her highness as to when the said exercise was to commence that he'd figured stay in both. Hidden with most other than essential powered down. While he turns and then orders down the chain of command on board the transport for both to report status on any ship bound in the area which they got a respond of a couple pings on the scope.

To which replay and play the reports along with possible move the said boggies could take that he then call the orders out. Have their ships reposition and try to gain the best position to get the enemy within the hairline of their gun sight.
