But I Am Free
Blood, blaster fire, detonations. It was the chaos of war all around Kahlil as he lead the charge with his Blackblades and allies. What he thought would be a simple task of annihilation turned into a full on blood bath on both sides. His troops getting caught in blast after blast of traps laid out, the enemy finding no quarter given and being mercilessly slaughtered as the Sith War Machine pushed on over the maimed corpses of friends and foes.
It was the first true taste of war the young Sith tasted. His body was exhausted, his energy burned out as he had been haphazardly throwing around his spells. While still at the front to hide any fear, he was slowing. He ripped his mask from his face, tossing it away as he took in a deep breath of unfiltered air, the stench of fire and char filling his nostrils. It wasn't what he expected. He wasn't a front line combatant, that much he learned.
"Sir, they're ranks have been destroyed. All officers are either fleeing or killing themselves." His own ranking officer stepped up beside him as the rest of Blackblades continued forward.
"Kill them all. If possible however, capture the officers. They'll have information I'm sure my father would want." There was a swift salute before the man began barking orders into his com, leaving the Sith to himself. Kahlil was looking forward to returning to Bastion to rest.
