Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate Shov Brald Shov Brald
As Sicarius unleashed her powers upon Tirin, he reacted with a fluid grace that seemed almost supernatural. With a swift motion, he raised his hands, drawing upon the Force to protect himself. Within his palm, a shimmering barrier of energy formed, crackling with power as it absorbed the Force lightning directed towards him.

Simultaneously, Tirin extended his other hand towards the boulder hurtling towards him, his mastery of telekinesis coming into play. With a focused gaze and a subtle gesture, he exerted his will upon the massive stone, crushing it into smaller fragments before it could reach him. The boulder shattered into a cascade of pebbles, scattering harmlessly across the temple grounds.

His movements were graceful, flowing like water, as he invoked the technique of Tutaminis. The energy barrier held firm against the onslaught, leaving Tirin unscathed amidst the chaos.

Tirin's graceful movements were thanks to the active and skillful implementation of the Art of Movement, Battlemind, Concentration, and Emptiness. With enhanced agility, combat awareness, mental focus, and a deep connection to the Force, he moved with exceptional grace and ease.

A subtle set of clicks resounded through the air as Shov's Thermal imploders activated on his person. With a mere gesture of telekinesis, Tirin triggered the imploders.

Normally, Shov's instincts told him to shoot the Jedi and think nothing of it. He had killed plenty of their kind when he was younger and had the scars to prove it. The Jedi were some of the fiercest soldiers that Shov fought and they were armed with nothing more than a Lighsaber. Shov always thought it was lunacy to charge in with nothing more than simple robes and a Lightsaber. Instead, the Jedi placed their faith in the Force something that Shov thought it was lunacy.

Still, the Jedi didn't bring harm to neither he nor Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate . Lothal's fall to the Empire will be inevitable and Shov was feeling merciful, the Jedi needs to tend to his dead. Shov had no quarrel with him, unfortunately, Sicarius did. "NO!" Shov shouted but Sicarius unleashed a torrent of lightning as well as a large boulder and hurled them towards Tirin Raene Tirin Raene . The Jedi effortlessly countered the attacks and before Shov knew it, the thermal detonators began to count down.

"Damn," Shov immediately removed his grenade belt from his large and bulky armor throwing them towards Jedi while using his assault rifle to fire on the grenades causing them to explode.

Objective 3: Swatting Flies

"The enemy fighters are pressing in," the signals officer declared.

"Sure they are," Maldor replied, "they have to get close if they hope to hit us while the Missile Jammers are active. Make them pay for it."

"All units are intensifying laser cannon fire," the signals officer reported.

That meant they'd risk overheating the laser cannons in continuous fire, but it was a worthwhile risk when fighter-bombers were making a run.

"Enemy fighters are launching... Ion torpedoes, Sir."

Even as the move was reported, Maldor could see the two Gozantis as they were struck and disabled, electrical discharges dancing across their hulls. Their Ion shielding was much less sophisticated than that on the Darkfall or Obscurer. They'd be out of the fight for a bit.

Maldor shook his head, "A costly blow, and for what? To take two Gozantis out of action for a handful of minutes? Hardly worth it." Despite his recent experience and victories, Maldor was still new to the game of fleet command. He sometimes missed the bigger picture.

A more seasoned Admiral might have deduced that the Ion strike was not the enemy's final gambit, but merely an opening move.

"Spool up our own Zeta One Ion Cannons. Show the enemy command ship what a real Ion weapon feels like."

At his word, the heavy Ion Cannons began to charge, announcing his intention loudly to the enemy fleet's sensors. Not that he was concerned. There was little they could do about it.

Enemy turbolasers splashed against the shields of the Obscurer and Darkfall, but not yet enough to seriously tax their defenses.

"Sixty seconds till the weapons are ready to fire," the tactical officer declared.

One of those cannons could be ruinous to a ship. Three of them would be catastrophic.

In sixty seconds, this battle would be all but over.

"Let's get our sweat on, Corveni. Those turrets have to go. Take the lead, I will cover you."

There was no need for Alicia to tell Lutin twice, the agent quickly got up ignoring the blaster bolts whizzing past him. The objective was all that matters, not a couple of scattered resistance fighters. Alicia continued to lay down cover fire while more debris from destroyed TIE Fighters fell next to Lutin scattering all over the street. "It's raining TIE Fighters," Lutin muttered to himself while he approached the main tower of the city.

Already Lutin could see a platoon of Stormtroopers fighting the Lothal Protectorate. The defenders were dug in deep, taking the high ground to pelt the advancing platoon. "Agent!" One of the Stormtroopers approached Lutin and Alicia. "We're gonna need some help breaking this defense!"

"That's what we're here for," Lutin said. "Keep them occupied, and we'll sneak around and flank them."

There had to be a way to enter tower but how?

CURRENT MISSION - Just the Two Of Us…
Immediate Goals -

BLUFOR - Shov Brald Shov Brald

OPFOR - Enemy Unknown

TARGETING ACTION(S) - Shov Brald Shov Brald Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate Tirin Raene Tirin Raene

Today was a terrible day - flying the Sojourner down through a massacre, she needed to be expedient. She needed to be quicker than her worries about violating her personal ethics, by permitting an imperialistic acquisition of a planet, quicker than the former Jedi Temple of Lothal could be destroyed, and quicker than her fellow Mandalorians would find and wonder what she had been doing on Lothal on the side of the Imperials.

For the one and only Celt Saxon Celt Saxon was present, and she could only imagine how much the great Alor'ad would be disappointed in her. She knew the history of her people, of how they fought together, but with the loss of Mandalore and the Scattering, the notion of one's "Mandalorian-ness" was far more important than Clan or House. She wasn't as fanatical in her devotion as her sister, Sevii, but Kebii'kara Solus still considered herself an adherent of the Resol'nare, despite here unique circumstances.

Touching down nearby, she was stopped by a handful of Imperial Troopers - no doubt to serve as backup to secure the outer perimeter for Shov Brald Shov Brald . A quick telekinetic shaking of a particularly snooty Warrant Officer and a between clenched teeth reiteration that yes she was a contracted affiliate of the Empire and yes she was supposed be here and if they held her up for any longer she'd feed her to her drakeling! Beviin, to her credit, snapped in her own animalistic way a rebuke after playing up the "ferocious beast of terror and fire" that could be mustered from a domestic pet sized drakeling - and voiced her complaint about the troopers having far too much plastic to be of any nutritional value.

But Kebii'kara's good humor had run dry when she dropped into the system, and as the Lasat pushed forward with the aid of the Force, she winced instinctively under the explosions of one bandoliers' worth of thermal detonators. Already the Dar'Jetti had decided to cause a ruckus - to nobody's surprise. While Kebii could not undo the initial interaction between the Imperials and the Jedi guardian of this place, she could perhaps try and salvage it, she was supposed to be a fellow consultant should the Dar'Jetti prisoner prove... uncooperative.

Allowing the Force to wrap around her like linen strength, she leapt high above and allowed Beviin to circle the unusual structure that the Jedi had intended to guard with their lives. Bringing down her fire-staff, the Force thrummed out in a radius to buffet back both the attacker and the defender.

"Pardon the interruption." The Lasat spoke finally. "But we are here to secure the artifacts, not to destroy them?"

"Cover me."

Alicia moved from covering Lutin and into the street. She moved fast... perhaps too fast. Within a few seconds Alicia had run from cover and out into the street, where she maneuvered through the gun fighting, where somehow all the shots fired between the Lothal Protectorate and the Empire's military forces missed. Making it across the street and into the building where the turret was found, Alicia weaved her way through the entrance where only the sounds of gun fire was heard from the outside.

Meanwhile, inside, smoke would rise up from the carcasses of the dead soldiers inside. Taking the moment to clear the room and check the surrounding hallways, Alicia looked up a flight of stairs and heard more guards moving about up there, barking in their alien languages that someone was down there.

Lifting her comlink to contact Lutin, Alicia said: "Entrance is clear. Get here now."

IMPERIAL EMPEROR OF IMPERIAL KIND

Velran did a double take seeing Celt RECORD THEIR CONVERSATION IN FRONT OF THEM. That was something Velran did daily ever since he ruled over New Alderaan. Paranoia is a survival instinct after all and besides, it was nice to have to have a person's words on record so Velran can use it against them in case they go back on their word. "I dunno!" Velran said. "One person's remarks is another's insult. I mean look at the battlefield!"

He immediately got up held his hands towards the Capital City. A snarl escaped Velran's lips as the shield was still active. A week before the battle, NISB Director: Zarlo Kaybes assured Velran that the city doesn't have any form of defenses besides the shield generator and that the militia were poorly trained. If that's the case, what the hell is taking the army so long?! "Oh, I have definitely sent commandos." Velran said rapidly nodding his head. "They're just ummm you know..... just killing everyone they see!"

For the first time in his life, Velran felt embarrassment. He was negotiating with this young Mandalorian warrior and he's pissing all over the floor! Velran always made sure that his genius was put on display like he did with Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen when he visited New Alderaan. But he was being a made a fool in front of Celt and if there's one thing Velran HATED MORE THAN ANYTHING was made a fool. "I like a no prisoners approach to battle." Velran said. "Like the Mandalorians especially Mandalore the Ultimate one of the greatest tacticians the Galaxy has ever known. Merciless and brutal: I've always admired him!"

Velran needed to retrieve his helmet as a peace offering to the Enclave, he might have found one such location. He'll probably drag Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate or Akiya Orime Akiya Orime to find it. The two always whined about not getting some outside air. Well now they have an opportunity. "But yes! The Emperor is very smart and very handsome that he has sent me to overlook the battle!" Velran smiled. "So smart and handsome am I! Like the Emperor!"

Velran eyes shifted back to the Capital City. If the battle goes for any longer, he was going to have some "choice words" for the NISB director.

Alicia moved with astonishing speed moving her way towards the tower while killing some of the Protectorates in the process. Lutin struggled to keep up firing at the stragglers ahead while the Stormtrooper platoon fought alongside him. The way Alicia moved was..... suspicious, either she was a track star, has cybernetic enhancements, or a Force Sensitive. If the last one was true, why hide it? It wasn't like the Empire were hostile to Force Sensitives like they were in the days of the Galactic Empire under Emperor Palpatine. It was just another question in the mystery of Alicia Drey.

As the perimeter was secured by the Stormtroopers, Lutin approached Alicia's location making sure to check his corners in the process. "Fine work Agent Alicia," Lutin said. "You display a fine set of skills. Supernaturally so I might add."

A smirk slowly formed on his lips as his Holoprojector began blinking. Lutin took out his Holoprojector and turned it on. "Senior Agent Corveni and Agent Drey." The image of Zarlo Kaybes began appearing on the Holoprojector. "Can you hear me?"

"Director Kaybees," Lutin said. "We read you, we just cleared out the entry of the main capital building and we're on our way to the top floor to disable the AA gun."

"Very good," Zarlo said his face twitching while beads of sweat filled his brow. "While you're here, I've assigned another mission for you two."

"Director?" Lutin raised an eyebrow.

"These orders came down from the Emperor himself," Zarlo said. "He's most displeased with our slow progress in taking the city. We've missed the fact that the locals had Anti Air guns ready to fire."

"It was a mistake," Lutin said. "But we didn't have enough Agents here."

"But I told the Emperor it would be safe to approach the city while they had their shield up." Zarlo responded taking a deep breath. "In any case, we've suffered more casualties than what was projected...... In any case while your main objective is the AA gun, your current objective is to break into the Capitol building databanks and upload them to Headquarters. From there, command can scan the contents."

"What for?" Lutin asked.

"Emperor's orders," Zarlo responded. "I'm not sure myself truth be told. Now go, and make sure that AA gun destroyed when you're finished."

As the image of Zarlo flickered out, Lutin frowned wondering what will the Emperor do to the NISB agents after Lothal. It was a mistake, a big one, and now the troops are paying dearly for it. "You heard him," Lutin said to Alicia. "Let's get to the databanks."

Bella approached the Z-’ceptor from below, behind, and its port side, doing so at a blistering pace in her effort to get into optimal range. However, before she did, the bandit pitched its nose downward, thereby shifting into a descent beneath the primary plane of the engagement. Fortunately, Bella recognized the maneuver for what it was—an attempt to create a firing angle using the craft’s dorsal-mounted turret. A pilot as experienced as her could not have survived so many engagements without being intimately familiar with the strengths, weaknesses, and characteristics of a wide range of starfighter types, and Uglies were no exception. Accordingly, Bella pitched the nose of her TIE downward, before driving her interceptor in a steep descent relative to the primary plane as she punched the accelerator at maximum throttle and vectored slightly to starboard. The maneuver carried her TIE just out of the turret’s firing arc, affording Bella a split-second of relief.

And yet, Bella knew that she could not afford to remain idle.

He fired his thrusters as his droid fired the Ion turret, bringing his starfighter around at an improbable angle with unlikely speed.

Bella reacted instantly as the Z’-ceptor was thrown into a tight, demanding maneuver. With a soft grunt, the Togruta pulled up on the control yoke to pitch the nose of her TIE back up, before rolling her wings and vectoring towards the Z’-ceptor in an aggressive lead pursuit from far below, behind, and to the port side of the her target. That was when she opened fire—a snap shot taken just as the bandit would likely pass in front of her autocannons. In that, a salvo of eight armor piercing incendiary slugs were launched into the void, each aimed to strike the Z’-ceptor in its rear fuselage in an attempt to destroy its ion cannon turret.

Thereafter, Bella intended to force the enemy pilot into a turning battle.

Objective 3: Swatting Flies
Tryk Zhot, aboard the Nackhawn
with the Lothalian Defense

There was no doubt- Tryk was facing off against the very best pilot in the field, today.

What kind of luck was that? There must be a hundred starfighters flying around.

The enemy brought their high-performance interceptor around hard, laying down fire on the Nackhawn's path and piercing her Ion turret with four penetrating slugs. The left side of the turret erupted with Ionic discharges. The shots that were being generated by the Ion weapon spilled out and cooked all of the turret's electronics.

That turret had been Tryk's best chance for victory.

Now he was being pursued by a high-performance fighter, operated by a pilot who might exceed his own skill.

There were two choices: Run, or Fight.

And both of them required speed.

He poured on the thrust, flying straight away. The Nackhawn was fast. Very fast.

But it was also highly maneuverable, even at speed. This was a trait that most other starfighters lacked. They were either very fast or very maneuverable, but not both.

Tryk hoped the enemy fighter would pursue him, laying on their own speed to do so. Then Tryk would make a hard, neck-straining turn without slowing down. If he was right, he'd be able to out-turn his opponent at high speed, and open up with his laser cannons.

If he was wrong...

Well, it had been a good life.

As the countdown of the ion imploders neared its climax, prior to Shov Brald Shov Brald 's shot, Tirin, embodying a paragon of grace and focus, effortlessly called upon the power of Force Barrier. With serene concentration and a clear mind, he extended his will into the Force, shaping it into a protective shield around the imploders.

A radiant barrier of energy materialized around the ion imploders, surrounding them with an aura of tranquility amidst the chaos. Tirin's movements were fluid and graceful, as if the creation of the barrier were nothing more than a simple gesture.

The Force Barrier hummed with power, deflecting the impending explosion inward with elegant efficiency, containing its destructive force within the confines of the shield, protecting every one present from the destructive power unleashed within. Tirin's violet eyes remained serene and focused, reflecting the calmness of his mind as he maintained the barrier ease.

Despite the chaos and danger surrounding him, Tirin stood poised and composed.

As the explosion subsided and the barrier dissipated, Tirin stood in his spot un moved even as a third person joined the field. His long silken robes and black hair swayed in response to the winds that picked up but it was clear he was also presently protected at present.

"Why do you all feel the need to take what does not belong to you?"

Objective 2

Sicarius scowled as the Jedi Tirin Raene Tirin Raene showed considerable skill and knowledge of the Force. The Jedi managed to absorb her Force Lightning with relative ease, harnessing it's power and no doubt filling their own Force energy in the process. All Sicarius had managed to accomplish was replenishing her oppositions own power.

Sicarius Telekenetic use of the landscape also fraught to nought as the boulder she had sent the Jedi's way was crushed and scattered to be little more than dust. Sicarius scowled. She had to admit he Jedi stood poised and graceful. It reminded her of lightsaber combat at it's peak with footwork just as important as strikes and parries.

"See! This is why I need my Lightsaber's!" Sicarius screamed at her would be chaperone. Shov Brald Shov Brald

Sicarius noted with something close to concern as Shov's detonators also failed to do any harm. Sicarius had to admit encircling the grenades in a Force Barrier was an effective and inventive method of dealing with them.

Sicarius prepared to gather her Force powers to her for another attempt. This time intending to remove the bedrock from the Jedi's feet. If She could not directly harm him than perhaps she could make his environment more unstable allowing Shov to go in for the kill.

Before she could implement her new plan she was rudely interrupted by a Mandalorian warrior Kebii'kara Solus Kebii'kara Solus . Sicarius briefly wondered if the Mandalorian stood with the Jedi before they made their intentions known.

"Fine! If you think you can reason with the fanatic by all means!"

Sicarius frowned as the Jedi responded to the break in the fighting. She sense a tense truce was being honoured at the fragile moment that sometimes happened in the middle of a fight.

"Knowledge is to be shared, studied and understood Jedi! Not to be hoarded locked up and forgotten!" Sicarius retorted in a huff.

"Bingo......" Vekk saw both of the assault cruisers disabled a smile curling on his lips. The Dreaded began to rumble violently, the Star Destroyers are intensifying their Turbolaser fire.

"Captain! Our shields are at 40 percent!" Private Bores shouted. Vekk positioned his Light Cruiser to where it would absorb the bulk of the Star Destroyers onslaught. Lothal engineers had modified the ship's shields to absorb more punishment. Besides, the Trade Federation Superfreighters as bulky as they are, were still outdated by hundreds of years. They did their job in engaging the Corvettes. However, the two Superfreighters had a gift for those Corvettes as well.

"Two gifts be precise," Vekk mumbled before turning to Bores. "Patch me to Lieutenant Eros Vosi!" He ordered.

Bores immediately pressed a few buttons as the muffled voice of Vosi was heard. "Captain," Vosi said. "We received your signal, We're now starting our approach."

One of the Hammerhead vessels jumped out of Lightspeed. Vosi breathed deep knowing what was to going to happen. "We're using the momentum from jumping Hyperspace to our target."

The Hyperspace continued to make a beeline to the nearest Carrier, Vosi could feel his heart thumping while the crew silently began to make coordinates towards the downed ship. "Steady......" Vosi whispered seeing the Carrier in view. "All right, all thrusters full power!"

The Hammerhead accelerated towards the Carrier while Vosi placed his hands on the handles above the ceiling. "Brace for impact!" Vosi said gripping the handles for dear life and shutting his eyes.

The ship slammed onto the starboard side of the Assault Carrier however the moment caused Vosi to lurch forward, his teeth clacking against each other in the process. He winced in pain wondering if he chipped a tooth..... or three. The ship began to rumble violently. "Keep moving!" Vosi shouted.

The Hammerhead pushed the Carrier towards the other disabled carrier as it got closer towards it. The Carrier slammed against it creating a large explosion that wiped them both out. The Hammerhead managed to escape but the Assault Carriers were not so fortunate as they crumbled into pieces and began to erupt into a large, orange wreckage.

"That's one miracle performed," Vekk smiled seeing the explosion ahead. There were silent cheers from the crew while Veek allowed himself to relax, there was a still a long way to go but he'll take what he'll get. "Captain!" Bores shouted. "The enemy is charging their Ion Cannons!"

"How long until we get our weapons are back online?!" Vekk questioned.

"Just about now!" Bores answered.

"Unleash concussion missiles towards the nearest Class Corvettes!" Vekk ordered. "Then evasive maneuvers!"

The Dreaded fired 5 concussion missiles towards the nearest Corette before it began to accelerate away from the Star Destroyer. " Tryk Zhot Tryk Zhot !" Vekk said. "I need you to lead the fleet towards the Star Destroyer! Their weapons should be overheated by now! Use the window to knock out their communications tower before their turbolasers are back online!"

He just need another miracle and perhaps they could win this battle after all.

"You've made a situation worse Sith," Shov responded to Sicarius with cold indignation. "You would've been raging animal with your weapons." If it were up to Shov, Sicarius' Force Powers would be completely nullified and she would be forced to go on missions unarmed. It goes to show that a Force Sensitive without the Force were of no use. The rest of their skills atrophied in favor of fancy twirling and moving rocks. Though Shov had to admit that Tirin Raene Tirin Raene showed more reserve and grace with his abilities.

He was definitely more displumed than Sicarius. Perhaps he would join the Empire and Sicarius would be executed for being a nuisance. A third party joined the fray, this time a Mandalorian. Shov raised an eyebrow in response, he heard that a representative of the Mandalorian Enclave would oversee the battle with the Grand Moff, but Shov didn't know that if they were going to join the fight or not.

"At least the Mandalorian is giving a Jedi a chance," Shov said to Sicarius. "The only fanatic between all of us is you Sith."

He walked towards the Jedi his weapon raised. "It's for the Empire Jedi," Shov said. "I apologize for this Sith's belligerent attitude. Let us explore the area and grab what we need from there. If you're a Jedi, you would care more for your people."

Alicia watched as the thick tones of the NISB Director filled the entrance to the Capital building. The turret above was so powerful that, even at the bottom level, the walls shook every time it fired a round, and the sound of it's laser vibrated through the room like a sycophancy that felt like it threatened the very foundations of the building. When Kaybes disappeared and the projector died down Alicia listened to Lutin and replied:

"There are two of us, Corveni. Two agents, two goals. You handle the turret and I will slice the database. Take the Stormtroopers with you, I work faster alone."

Before Alicia could give Lutin time to object she lifted her pistol to reload it with a new mag and clocked back as she walked by him. On her wrist Alicia activated a chrono that displayed the schematics of the Capital building to her. The Headquarters for the provincial government for Lothal was located on the other side of a courtyard. Alicia anticipated heavy defences and knew that if she was to complete the mission then she would have to use her powers in the dark side to stand a chance of making it in.

Putting the safety back on the SMG Alicia holstered the pistol, and turned to look around. Lutin was suspicious of her. She had sensed it with the Force. As an asset to the NISB he had been well trained and knew that, even in a combat situation like this, Corveni would be looking to gather intelligence where he could.

Deciding that Lutin had gone on with taking out the AA gun on top of the building, Alicia drew a curved Lightsaber into her hand and activated the blade. As the crimson light illuminated her in the dark corridor, Darth Ayra gathered the Force into her legs and once again increased her movements with the Force. Darting out of the corridor and into the courtyard, Alicia surprised the militia posted there in defence of the headquarters, and evaded their fire as she begun her assault on them.

Objective 3: Swatting Flies
"Sir-" the Signals officer began to say.

"I see it," Maldor interrupted, his voice even, but full of restrained ire.

The two Gozanti Assault Carriers were breaking apart, and having been pushed into a lower orbital vector, were slowly falling towards the planet. Based on the swiftness of the break-up, and the previous disabling by Ion Warheads, it seemed likely that the Gozantis would not only be lost, but lost with all hands.

Then, to add insult to injury, assault missiles raked his Raider corvettes. The Corvettes were not destroyed, but they each suffered damage putting them temporarily out of the fight.

These were the most significant losses he'd taken since first claiming command of this House Mecetti Exile Fleet.

Fleet... not any more. Back to being a small Flotilla.

Silence filled the bridge as all eyes turned to see what Maldor Mecetti might do next.

"It seems they've overcome our missile jamming," he said quietly. "Deactivate all Missile Countermeasures.

Gut that Bantha-Shite Cruiser with Ion Cannon fire, and then launch all missiles."

Anything you can do, Maldor thought, I can do better.

The order to 'launch all missiles' was not as tame as it might at first seem. House Mecetti Capital Ships had missiles as a significant portion of their armament. Not merely the ordinary concussion missiles used to assail starfighters, but also the large back-breaking Assault variety. Any one of those could damage a capital ship.

Maldor had ninety-six assault launchers between the Obscurer and the Darkfall. Nearly twenty for each of the enemy capital ships.
He also had twenty smaller concussion missile launchers to take a bite out of the enemy starfighters.

He had never launched all of them in a coordinated mass array, before.

They flew forth like a plague of locusts... Locusts in the kiloton range.

There would be no unlikely victory against superior forces, today. The plucky defenders had experienced their final joy.

Now they would experience the crushing despair of a giant boot smashing down into their faces until they were pulp.

Her gambit had paid off. Bella had known that in attacking the Z-’ceptor’s turret, she would be exposing herself to its fire in turn. Fortunately, she had been faster than whatever droid, targeting program, or gunner that had been tasked with operating it. As such, the turret went up in a shower of sparks before her eyes. After the co-pilot AI confirmed its destruction, the Togruta narrowed her gaze, once more smelling blood in the water.

Fangs were bared in the literal sense beneath the transparent material of Bella’s visor as her gaze briefly shifted towards the sensor readout, to ensure that no one was coming onto her tail. As she did, the Z-’ceptor leveled out of its turn and began to accelerate away, opening up a gap in the process. Bella allowed it to do so, but she did not let the gap get so wide that it would put her out of weapons’ range. The gap was only there to give her the space to react in the event that the enemy pilot attempted to force an overshoot. She had more than enough confidence in her own marksmanship and her TIE’s targeting systems to make any shot from a distance.

And so, as the Z-’ceptor swung around in a break turn, the pilot likely putting maximum G-load on their craft in the process, Bella followed the maneuver with a break turn of her own in the same direction. She gave a soft grunt as a surge of G-forces came over her body before the inertial compensators caught up with the load. However, the Baroness endured them with practiced instinct, all while angling her interceptor in a lead pursuit from slightly above and far behind the bandit.

Then, as soon as Bella had lined up her shot, she gave the command to fire.

On cue, a burst of four armor piercing incendiary slugs were launched out into space, committed on a trajectory to strike the Z-’ceptor straight in its cockpit—a naked attempt to slay the enemy pilot.

Objective 3: Swatting Flies
Tryk Zhot, aboard the Nackhawn
with the Lothalian Defense

As Tryk entered his extreme turn, a message came across the radio.

"Tryk Zhot! I need you to lead the fleet towards the Star Destroyer! Their weapons should be overheated by now! Use the window to knock out their communications tower before their turbolasers are back online!"

Lead the fleet?! Tryk was in the middle of a dogfight for his life! He'd be lucky to complete this turn without dying!

And as if on cue, he faced his death.

He didn't get enough distance from the enemy Starfighter, and he couldn't turn quickly enough. Despite his best efforts, she got him in her sights.

A smattering of fat slugs pierced the cockpit, leaving a glowing trail in their wake. If there had been something substantial in their path, they may have stopped long enough to created a fire. And if Tryk had been a full-sized normal humanoid, one of those slugs would have pierced his body and boiled his guts.

As it was, they only perforated his cockpit, passing across it without hitting Tryk himself. But they did obliterate the cockpit controls, instantly turning the lovingly built starfighter into a useless hulk.

Tryk reached down and pulled the ejection lever.

And... nothing happened.

One of the slugs must have damaged the ejection seat mechanism. Tryk's only consolation was that the seat's atmospheric field generator clicked on, thinking to protect him against the void. This saved him from the vacuum rapidly forming in the cockpit as the internal air supply was blown out through the holes in the hull.

Without the ability to control his fighter, it was a matter of time before his enemy swung back around and finished him off.

Tryk closed his eyes, waiting for death.

Then he felt the ship level its flight, and change its vector.

He opened his eyes again. The cockpit controls were still smashed. There had been no miraculous restoration. But on one flickering, cracked screen, he could see a message.

"Coordinates locked. Hyperspace Engine Engaged."

That's when Tryk realized that the R2 droid hard-wired into his ship had given up on the ruined Ion turret and taken control of the flight functions. He didn't know that the droid would have preferred to die. He didn't know that its programming forced it into the horrific task of saving its own life... and that of its cruel master.

There was a flash, and the stars streaked into a beautiful blue tunnel.

The Nackhawn had fled the battlefield.

And Tryk would survive to fly another day.

There were a few things that Kebii'kara would willingly agree with a Sith on - knowledge was to be shared, and not destroyed. Though she would sooner give a Hutt a "happy ending" than consider that an imprisoned Sith was a fellow, honest intellectual who was genuinely interested in the metaphysics and philosophical implications of the Force.

While the Imperial Space Marine offered a relatively matter of fact course of action, the esper was clearly not having any of it. "While that would be an understandable point of view - to simply view knowledge, and to not desecrate these hallowed grounds." the Mandalorian admitted, before nodding to the Jedi. "The guardian of this place has made it clear that he is not wishing to part with them... unless they "belong to us"." With that, the Lasat raised her fire staff, and moved over to a grouping of outcropped rocks a little ways' away, her pistol and lightsaber jingling on her hip, and with a sweeping hand, made motion for the group to sit. "Then let us make parlay, Master Jedi, and let us know how the temple and its content may "belong to us"." She nodded to the Marine. "Captain Brald shall act as a representative the Empire, while I shall maintain my position as an... outside consultant in regards to the mysteries of the Force."

NISB Combat Armor
Suppressed SMG

Pretty clever of Alicia to say that they should split up, Lutin had a gut feeling that she was on to him. But in any case, the top priority was to destroy that AA gun. "Platoon!" Lutin shouted to the Stormtroopers. "Half of you stay and give Agent Drey some covering fire! The rest will be on me!"

The Protectorate had destroyed the elevator leading to the top of the floor which meant that Lutin had to climb many floors to get to the top. How lovely. While Alicia slinked away to gather the data, Lutin began the long trek towards the AA gun with the Stormtroopers behind him. They only met minimal resistance with only a couple of Lutin's troops falling during the fighting. However, the only challenge Lutin had was to not collapse on the floor exhausted. He always hated running on the stairs, there was a reason why elevators and escalators were created.

At last, Lutin arrived at the AA gun where the bulk of the defense was located at. The Stormtrooper Platoon opened fire which helped Lutin slink behind enemy lines, placing a charge onto the gun. As soon as it was planted, Lutin ran towards cover and denotated the charge creating a large explosion taking out the AA gun and the remaining Protectorate defenders. "Done." Lutin muttered.

"Good work Senior Agent," Kaybees said. "The rest of the fire teams in the surrounding area has taken care of their targets."

Lutin observed the many trails of black smoke that came from the top of the towering skyscrapers. "Our troopers can land safely now at least in the commerce section." Kaybees continued. "Your new objective now is to take down the shield barrier."

"It was my original objective," Lutin muttered. "Before you told me to take care of the AA gun."

"Yes....." Kaybees fell silent for a brief moment.

"Is everything okay?" Lutin asked wondering why the NISB Director was jumpy all of a sudden.

"The Emperor is not happy with how the battle is unfolding Lutin," Kaybees spoke in a nervous tone. "Wait for Agent Drey and double time to the Shield Generator. We cannot delay the orbital bombardment any longer."

"Copy that," Lutin said before switching channels. "Agent Drey?" Lutin said. "Are you finished transmitting the data to command? We're going to have get to the Shield Generator ASAP."
