The Sacking of Zeltros

Kian barely dodged a strike from a sithspawn and brought his blade around to cut it down only to have the creature drop dead with a blaster bolt in the head. Turning, Kian saw a woman approaching and he nodded his head toward her, assuming it had been her that had killed the sithspawn.

She was there to help [member="Kana Truden"] and [member="Corvus Raaf"] she had said and Kian didn't sense any deception in her force aura. Looking over the soldier for a moment, Kian couldn't help but wonder just how it was she knew the two Jedi Knights. They certainly were getting around and making all sorts of helpful friends! The thought made Kian smile beneath his mask and he nodded his head in agreement.

"The more the merrier." He said, his voice muffled and static by his mask but clear and audible. "I am Kian Karr." Kian said as way of introduction and turned indicating that the young woman should follow. "They are this way." Kian said following the guidance of the force to find his friends. As they entered the spaceport they would find the Hammerhead's hanger bay open....which was good, because Kian hadn't really had a plane for getting aboard that didn't involve cutting. Glancing out over the vast number of Sithspawn between them and the ship and raising his blade defensively, Kian couldn't help but think that cutting would still be the only way in.

As the Jedi Master, known as [member="Kian Karr"] introduced himself, she did so in kind. "You can call me Catherine, or Cath for short." The Jedi led the way they sped towards one of the hangar bays. As they ran past several bays, she could hear the growling and shrieking of the Sithspawns reverberating throughout the air. Her helmet's HUD indicated that they were hostile targets everywhere, and a large number of them were concentrated in the hangar bay Kian was heading towards. As the pair arrived at their destination, the surrounding Sithspawn growled as they began to approach the duo.

Catherine turned to face Kian. He had his saber drawn up defensively, firm but unmoving. Albeit being obscured by her helmet, her voice radiated nothing but joy. Killing was her thing. Sithspawn, even more so. She said "Allow me." She fired off a small missile from her wrist missile launcher, turning a group of them into mush. She then ran into a group of them, igniting her flamethrower and did a 360 degrees spin, spreading destruction in a circle, roasting the nearby Sithspawn and sending a foul smell into the air.

reaper activated his coms then said "master karr this is CC-3368 "reaper" me and another got eyes on your jedi friends inside the palace fighting a sith, whats your location over?" he looked at the soldier next to him "what should we do? i dont think that sith is gonne be a easy target" he checked his ammo, 3 mags and some grenades. he thought for himself "maybe should have taken with me that sniper" he sighed then looked from the balcony at the jedi, he could see that she was wounded then aimed at the sith. "sir are you ready?" he held his finger on the trigger ready for the incoming order.

The Sith Lord was doing an impressive job as he defended himself against the two Jedi. Anger seemed to radiate off of Flint's opponent, which must be what was fueling the Sith in battle. Flint grimaced as he saw the Sith Lord defend against his strike with ease, and wondered if Flint was hindering Master Watts' efforts against the Sith rather than assisting him. He then watched in slight dismay as the Jedi Master was kicked backwards, the hit to the chest sending the former Grandmaster rolling on the ground.

I have to stop this technique, it is draining power from me too quickly.

Abruptly, Flint felt his exhaustion amplify as the force meld between them dissipated. He was still recovering from the broken force meld when the Sith Lord attacked once more. Pain struck him when the Sith Lord's outstretched elbow hit Flint's face, which sent him stumbling blindly backwards. Steadying himself, Flint brought his lightsaber back out infront of him, now holding onto it with both hands for maximum stability in wielding the lightsaber. He saw that Watts was trying to keep the Sith engaged in combat, and decided to take the opportunity the Jedi Master had provided.

Still both hands on the blade, the Jedi Knight made a short leap forward towards the Sith. During the few seconds in the air, Flint retracted his cyan blade to be above his right shoulder, then came down with a sweeping motion aimed at the Sith's legs, his lightsaber cutting through the air to his leftward-down, Flint's ultimate goal of the attack being to injure the Sith's legs.

Kian shook his head and chuckled as he watched Catherine leap into the fray, taking on the horde of Sithspawn virtually alone. Leaping in behind her, but far enough away to avoid her impressive arsenal of weapons, Kian began to cut his way through the Sithspawn toward the hanger. He could feel the oppressive darkness that awaited them there and knew they were closing in on their target.

Corvus.....Kana....we're almost there. He sent out telepathically, not entirely sure if either of the two were able to respond to him, or if they were alright.

"This way." Kian said over his shoulder to Catherine, "They aren't far!"

Objectives: Just trying to stay alive

What more could one do against a flurry of attacks but to defend against it? Even so, the Sith Lord felt the lack of passion in the strikes, intended not for fatality but merely to serve as a lightning rod for his own attention. It was far too early in the game to cause such a slip, the ever vigilant still paying necessary due to the younger of the two Jedi. Recollection of the battle between Darth Maul and Qui-gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi showed that the biggest threats could come from places unexpected. He would give them his all, their efforts earning his full consideration.

Gabriel stepped back with each strike from the former Grandmaster, blow met with parrying left handed blow, his rancor tooth hilt waiting in anticipation for Flint Dexen’s counter attack. Rather than striking out, Gabriel took advantage of the unknown-to-him-link formerly broken. As Flint Dexen’s strike moves towards him, Gabriel performed a side flip, a cartwheel without the hands ever touching the ground, to cut between the two and move the momentum in his favor. As he did, the strike came within inches, knocking against the strands of black hair freed from the braided knot. Before the flip, his sabers would have extinguished in a simple flash, as to avoid impaling himself while spinning. Back peddling quickly in the direction he was previously facing, his right hand flashed out, removing a manhole cover from its asphalt embrace and flinging it to Flint Dexen’s back. It would either hit the Jedi Knight, or it wouldn't, and would then continue upon its path in a heavy roll against rain soaked ground. Dashing forward, he ignited the weapons and spun the two sabers at his sides before using the momentum to bring them crashing down upon Ben Watts, aiming to strike upon each respective shoulder, right where the muscles ascend into the neck. Two red cyclones slamming upon blue.

In the next moments, Gabriel would have to clash against the two once more. Something felt off, as if the two had previously been on speaking terms but had lost the cohesiveness of their forms. It was an oddity that he couldn't quite place, something deserved of contemplation for another day, after he had beaten these two back and left this planet for the cinder brisket that it was quickly becoming. From within, he gathered the force to him in sickly culminations, a steadily growing need to separate the two would precipitate in an attack that would be capable of doing just that.

Titan had formed a solid line with the surviving troopers. A few had collected heavy weapons from nearby vehicles and had set up a kill zone. Plugging bolt after bolt into the Risen corpses, Titan and the others were surviving this fight. But surviving isn't winning.

Commander [member="Camellia Swift"]. We require immediate Evac at my location.

Well, everything was falling apart. The Palace was being evacuated and the Sith's monsters were overrunning the street. When Zeltros main army and the Republic garrison arrived the Sith would be crushed in short order, though she suspected they would leave far before then. As of now the Spaceport lay half in ruin, the Palace was in who knows what state from her end, and the streets were wrought with combat. the only place that had remained secure was the Communication Hub, and of that Camellia felt proud. This was a half defeat, the spaceport wasn't completely ruined and the hub was still theirs, though that could change depending on the status of the Jedi battling the Sith Monster. Although considering how the back had been fully barricaded and filled with traps. . . .

Camellia was still thinking when the call from Titan came in over the Republic channel calling for another evac. This time on the streets. The dropships had been able to retrieve Master Karr and the Royal Family, but there were only two RAETs in the air. Because of the Sith Lady on the Hammerhead, there was little way for her soldiers to reach the remaining ships safely. . . .but. . . "You're going to have to hold out longer I'm sorry. Our remaining dropships only just finished their rounds at the Palace, and one is staying on standby for the Jedi trying to rid the Sith Taint from our Cruiser hanging over the city. I'll divert them to you though, but in exchange I expect you to help them push the Sith out. Then I expect you all to come rescue me and the Jedi pinned here in the comm hub. There's a dragon outside and all my infantry and armor units were in the streets with you. Plus the Sith has killed the non-force users near her with ease as it is. We'll be locking up the public frequencies soon so the Sith can't use them even if they take the Hub, we'll play a popular local show on loop and break the controls so that won't change for a while if it looks like we're in trouble. If needed we'll move out through the vents, but it all depends on how fast you manage to take care of all the sith and then reach us. After you do clean up my ship and come for us do come through the front door. The rear entrance corridors are filled with debris for some way and have tripwires everywhere."

His attacks were doing well, holding him off, but he could tell it was too easy for him. Ben cursed himself in his head, he could do better, he was better but he was out of practice. It was the first time he had been in combat for months and he was not as precise as he once had been. Every strike had a purpose, every foot movement was important, but now he felt like he was simply flailing to stay alive. He felt terrible for the young Jedi Knight, he knew not how weak Ben had become, but he was not going to give up that easily.

The Sith flipped and Ben spun around to dodge Flint as his attack hit nothing but air, a manhole cover coming directly for him. Lifting his lightsaber, he put it in front of him as he finished his spin, cutting the manhole cover in two and using the force to direct them safely away from both himself and Flint. In the next moment the Sith was on him again, his two lightsaber crashing down hard at Ben's shoulders, but he lifted his blade up into the air to stop them. At first he used only one hand to deflect the blow, but as it landed, he almost felt the hilt slip from his hand. Reaching up, he used his free hand to hold him at bay, the two blades directly above his head and trying desperately to cut into his body.

He grimaced as he held his blade steady, staring down the Sith as he did so, getting a better grip on the hilt of his blade. The force began to pool in the palm of his hand, and very quickly, he dropped his left hand and expelled a force push in the direction of the Sith's chest. Hopefully, it would land, and Flint could use the moment to strike.

Objective: Level the playing field

Jedi. He hated them, for the first time since his turn the fallen Jedi felt something, raw hate. Walking through the streets he activated his saber, the crimson blade coming to life as he approached the raging battle. He knew both of the Jedi, Watts had been grandmaster when he'd been in training under Sky Kerberos, and Flint had been his brother's first padawan in the light. Damn fool.

While Ben gave Flint an opening, Cale moved to cut it off, shooting forwards with his saber over his head and bringing it down with tremendous force as the head of the Jedi Knight who was gunning for the Sith Lord's legs. He didn't know Reverance, he doubted he ever would, but right now he had Cale's full devotion. The Sith Knight would protect his better or die trying.

Flint's attacks missed its mark once more, as the Sith dodged by cartwheeling away. As he regained his posture, Flint narrowly avoided collided into the Jedi Master. Thankfully, Master Watts utilized his momentum to slice the manhole cover that had been flung towards them into two pieces. Instead of hitting the Jedi Knight in the back like planned, the manhole cover thrown by the Sith safely missed both of them.

The next moment, Flint saw that Watts was defending against the Sith Lord's downward strike. Flint knew this was another oppotunity for him to attack the Sith while the former Grandmaster kept the Sith occupied. As he moved to attack however, Flint detected in the Force another hostile joining their brawl. Just in the nick of time, the Jedi managed to swiftly turn around to raise his lightsaber in an upward swing to defend against the downward strike of the Sith Knight who had abruptly joined their fight.

The Jedi Knight grunted under the pressure of the newly-appeared Sith's downward blow, and he bent his right leg down towards the ground to provide himself with firm support as he clashed against the enemy blade. As he held out against the Sith Knight's ligthsaber, Flint reached out with the Force momentarily to use telekinesis and hurl an abandoned street cart at the Sith Knight from sideways. He tried to aim to hit the Sith Knight from just the right angle so that the cart would hit just the Sith and not him.

A true Master, Gabriel thought, as [member="Ben Watts"] hit him directly in the chest with a force push. The Sith Lord shifted his weight forward in a lean, stabilizing his body as he slid across the wet pavement. It was a rare thing to not see the telegraph of force powers, people were so often inclined to wave a stick around detailing their next attack. Gabriel silently mused with the interior soul that rode his mind, a freeloader of incessant attacks, before he looked to the Grand Master and quietly found fortune in the armor he wore. The force power did what it needed to do, it provided distance so that [member="Flint Dexen"] could join back into the fight on a united front. But sometimes things don't go the way of expectations, as [member="Cale Gunderson"] looked to join the fight against the Jedi Knight. Gabriel could find no fault in it and despite not knowing the man, he could sense the intentions of hate and bloodlust. That was enough to cast further thoughts aside for his original focus: Ben Watts.

With a lunge forward, Gabriel struck in a two pronged attack. First, the left handed saber would strike in vertical top-to-bottom fashion, similar to his previous two handed strike, at center line with Ben Watts body. Next, and in fluid movement, he would rotate his body and deliver an additional attack from the right handed saber of similar orientation, though stronger in it's foundation as it would take advantage of the rotation of the core. He would look to continue delivering attacks against the single handed saber, weakening the mans grip and wrist. A fractured wrist is a useless wrist. At the same time, he prepared to use the force once more, looking for an opening where ever it would occurred. Until then, he fed on his anger, a hungry hound devouring meat, toppling from the bowl. Even the pain in his chest, the impact of his armor against the sternum, would not draw his attention from the task at hand.

Cale bore down on the Jedi, blindly and desperately feeding his anger, to feel again was something he was He didn't want to stop, he never wanted to lose the ability to feel again. Even while consumed by anger the tactile warrior's precognition caught wind of the incoming street cart. Time seemed to go into slow motion as he jumped into the air, backflipping over the cart in time to launch it right at Dexen with a well placed force push.

Landing swiftly among the dust his hand darted to his waist and pulled free another saber hilt and igniting the cobalt blue blade. This was one of the two he'd used as a Jedi, the other had been lost in his early days as a Sith. Assuming a jar'kai stance, Cale sunk his knees and narrowed his eyes in the Jedi's direction.

Ben bounced back as the force hit landed, spinning his lightsaber, he lifted it beside his head as Flint went in for the attack. Then, out of nowhere, a second Sith joined the fray. Ben let out a loud and exasperated sigh, his lightsaber dropping to his side, and he rolled his eyes. Nothing was ever easy. It looked like the two on one had turned into two one on ones, and that meant it was Ben vs the Sith Lord on all on his own. Ben did not worry for Flint, he was a skilled Jedi, and he could handle himself. He was more worried for himself, Flint was his ace in the hole, now Ben was going to have to end this on his own.

Sprinting forward, the Sith's blade came slashing down at him. Ben spun, avoiding the attack, but feeling it come very close to him. The second attack came in, the same, but with more power as it arched. He could have taken it head on, probably what the Sith wanted, but he was a master of deflection. He favored form was Soresu, a defensive style, mostly meant for deflecting blaster bolts but he had learned to incorporate the style well into lightsaber fighting. How well it would work here, he did not know, he was usually one for drawing the fight out for as long as possible but this is not what he wanted.

His lightsaber shot up, held out in front of him, he bent his back. When the blades met, Ben pushed out against his blade and then moved it to the ground, deflecting the blow and making sure that his lightsaber was on top. He knew he had to be wary of the other blade, so he pressed himself in close to the Sith so that their bodies were practically touching, and with a thrust upwards, he sent his elbow at the Sith's chin. Though he was out of shape and out of practice, he could still duel, but he was running low on energy.

Identity: Hidden as a being known as Phantom

The Phantom was late to the battle, mainly because he was far away when he got word, but he was here now. He landed his ship from the out skirt of the battle and lept out of his ship while it powered down. He was instantly created by Sith spawn as his ship was a huge give away, but the battle was heated and the Republic needed aid. The Phantom ignited a gold lightsabers. He cut through the Sith spawn making quick work of them and headed into battle.

Back ground information, The Phantom was the title and new alias of Hakora Cinthra whose identity was lost. As far as most people knew,Hakora was ether with the Order of the Grey, or with the Mandalorians training. Hakora had taken the role of Phantom and was now making that name known for what was to come it needed to be known. Phantom wore what appeared to be dark blue armor with dark gold trimming and a blue, Revan style Mandalorian helmet which was all covered by a dark blue robe and hood to completely seal his identity. Phantom also had trained the Force stealth and cloak abilities enough to completely mask his identity in the force and create a new one.

Back to the battle at hand, Phantom moved through the streets killing sithspawn as they came near heading for a familiar signature. He then stopped as the signature fade. In his masked voice he whispered, "No, don't be dead Veino." He used the Force to augment his speed to cover the distance as fast as possible until he was in a hanger where he saw Veino and a Sith Lord in combat, but Veino looked beaten. Veino was a skilled fighter so this Sith Lord must be a lot stronger so Phantom wasted no time and ran in full force as Veino jumped hitting the Sith in the chin. Phantom built up the Force in one hand and once he was two yards away he ignited the force in his hands using Pyrokenesis and then used force push to send a strong force push at the Sith Lord [member="Lady Exedō"] with fire mixed into it to cause burn damage if it hit. Phantom's goal was merely to separate them. He reached into his robe and pulled out a healing veil and tossed it to Veino who would not be able to tell that the Phantom was Phantom. In his mask voice he spoke to Veino, "Take that, I won't be able to hold her off alone for long, but together we can win." Phantom began walking towards her and drew a second lightsaber and ignited it revealing a dark blue lightsaber. With his dark and masked voice he spoke to the Sith, "Surrender now and stop hurting innocents or I will bring about justice and stop you." Phantom knew a Sith would not stop, it was out of character and Phantom was fresh to battle and his greatest strength was his power in the force, a tasty food opportunity.

As soon as the Sith Lord's left handed strike missed, he depressed the switch and the beamed coiled back into the hilt. Even with the right handed saber pinned down, his left hand was free to move about unburdened by the cumbersome nature of an ignited lightsaber, like a bat trying to fly through a spider web. The Jedi was an old man, but then again, Gabriel wasn't young. But he was in top physical shape and when he wasn't fighting the former Grand Master on Zeltros, he was fighting on Coruscant, on Barab I, on Ashera, on Annaj, and on countless other worlds. Busy busy bee. So when the elbow came forward, a seemingly telegraphed attack by the closeness of the two combatants, Gabriel was prepared with his own retort.

Dipping his head just as the strike neared, Gabriel dropped his head down and then pushed up, attempting to lift the Jedi's arm like a bird with it's wing spread. In the same movement, he pressed his weight against his back left foot and reeled forward, looking to punch the Jedi Master square in the ribs. This attack would be more brutal than typical as the extinguished saber hilt would serve as a roll of coins, effectively hardening his fist and allowing a far more devastating blow. And the placement with the hilt was fortunate as he could ignite it but in a moment, the precious effect of the blood red diamonds within and the adjusted power setting, just in case the former Grand Master wanted to bring his own saber up to the Sith's chin. Gabriel's crimson saber would be there in but the time it would take to depress the button.

He wasn't relying on his typical Form II and instead leaned heavily on Form V, modified with Jar'kai and sprinkled with Trakata for effect. It's intent was to overpower the enemy with strong strikes that beat and battered. Quite pairing against a master of Form III.

Objective: Hold out for Republic Aid

Titan growled at the comms when he was denied aid at this time. He returned to the line and began pumping bolts into the horde of Risen. He felt himself moving forwards, into the Horde itself. Soldiers were calling to him, but he was no longer able to hear them over the growls and cries of the Risen surrounding him. His repeater spat bolts by the dozens into the dead bodies that were now attacking him.

After a minute, he was unable to see the line anymore, and he was resorting to using his repeater as a melee weapon once it emptied its cash of ammo. He smashed it onto the head of one dead, released the gun and drew Kronos. The blade found body after body, blood of all kinds showered the soldier, he began to tunnel vision, as pure desperate rage set in. Flashbacks to the tank where he was born, the missions of murder he began to recall, he was a killing machine, that was what he was created to do. Death was his only ally and companion, he would lead Death to each his sword fell on.

The line was holding in Titan's absence, the soldiers took what ammo they could find from the dead, soon, every soldier was using a weapon they did not start with. Some used the Grub weapons, some were using other weapons from fallen allies, and everyone was fighting for their lives.
