So I just joined The Republic...
Well I have another character here, but I don't really do much with him lately because roleplay has been slow, but I'm hoping that Zun can become one of more more current characters

^ I basically began an origin thread that's open to the public, if anyone's interested, otherwise I have a few possible interests with The Republic.
Anyway, I'm specifically looking for a paramilitary, blackops, or just a unique position that isn't exactly all "front lines" mumbo jumbo. My character has a fear of death, so I think the earlier chapters of his roleplays should involve overcoming that. I'm a huge fan of All Quiet on the Western Front, so I love the idea of starting as an inexperienced soldier rather than an experienced one. I feel I have so much potential for character growth through it.

It's not a terrible popular book.
Basically, it's about World War I from the German perspective; written by a former soldier and how it the war wasn't as glorified as it came to be. Especially for the losing side, and is about a few soldiers who are encouraged to join the army by their charismatic veteran of a high school teacher. I won't spoil the rest, but it's a grim book that looks at war from a very realistic and humble standpoint, not a glorification of victory and how the real victims were the youth made believed that they were fighting for their country, when in reality they were fighting to survive.
That's the basic of it. I really feel like that's the principle going on here with the One Sith vs The Republic. It's glorified as stopping the dark enemy, but I think it would be an interesting standpoint to roleplay it from the perspective that there is no glory in victory, it just means living another day.
Nonetheless: I was possibly interested in archangels. I'd really like to see my character in a more behind-the-lines position and see how he's able to overcome his fear of death

- Join a militarized organization of some kind and become a veteran.
- Leave the military life behind for some reason and find a more civilian career.
- Settle down, get married(?), have a home, and become a leader of some world or maybe a sheriff.
