Ylva Heavenshield

Guest
[member="Théodred Heavenshield"] was too good for their Universe, ever the sweet and kind romantic beneath a Warrior's body that Ylva often found herself caught up in both surprise and bliss during times which he went so out of his way to remind her just how loving her could be of her. He had prepared words for Ylva, spoken before the eyes of the many there and soon whispered his unyielding love upon a breath just for their ears. When she moved in to kiss him, her hands found his chest and her eyes closed, forgetting about those around them, the sounds of their friends and family falling upon deaf ears as her heart soared into the moment and for those brief seconds, all she could feel and taste were her Husband. Her Love.

"Break out the mead!".
Came the voice of the King over all others and whether it was he or Ylva's want for a strong drink after all they had been through that day, she blinked her eyes open to find Théo still smiling back at her. It was instinctive, the thought of their little one still in her belly keeping her Mother from enjoying the taste of a good ale. She turned to glance across the room to that of [member="Thyrian Hearthfire"], a half smirk written across her face though her eyes seemed to almost glare his way, in a playful manner of course.

"Go on and enjoy yourself, Husband" she spoke as she turned back to encourage Théodred, "You're drinking for two of us tonight..." She grinned, never one to normally turn down a great time, though these last months had been unlike any others that she had lived. There were also plenty of new family that she had yet to meet and learn about, which she had every intention on knowing who she ought to be fighting for in the near future. Rising up on her toes a little to place a kiss to his temple, she smiled adoringly before giving his backside a quick slap to see Théodred off.

Somewhere nearby [member="Coci Heavenshield"] would surely be playing Host/Mother to all and in her maternal state, Ylva would not let her new Mother-in-law be the only one to be running things for all. Plenty of organization had gone into the ceremony, the feast and the ale for all to enjoy yet Coci too deserved to be having her fill of it all. She was ever the matriarchal figure of Midvinter, though less in the harsher sense and more in that everyone looked to her for guidance. Ylva being no exception to the fact.

He got minor respite from the bite of the cold air outside, enough to settle his mind a little, the grand hall had become stifling and not just because of the heat. He had never been one for crowds, or the indoors but preferred much the solace of the trees and snow, which was also a part of his nature, his mother’s nature and this was the part of him that kept him grounded.

The sound of the celebrations intruded on his mind only for a moment before the door closed them in again and the latch clicked, and Yula stood before him searching his face for what ailed him. He offered her a weak smile, he would be fine especially now she was here. “I am alright, I just needed to get out of there, into the open air”. Not really much of an excuse but in part it was true.

His arms raised and his hands rested on her waist as he looked down into her beautiful eyes, knowing full well she would not his word. “Those words the King spoke, naming all their gods one by one .. it was just so strange to hear. To hear each of my family in such a context”, did she truly believe that he was born of such blood? He let out a long sigh, not really sure if he believed it himself, even now.

For Vik, he had lived with a curse from the day he was born and removed from him by his father, yet only to be replaced by another. In a pantheon of Gods, Velkar is the God that causes chaos, but he is the God they need, the one the others turn to when there is no other way. Velkar has knowledge the others do not, nor do they have the power in their nature to change, just as he. And in that moment Vik realised that his father does not have a choice to be what he is, but he does because of the gift of his mother’s blood, he has a choice.

His smile turned more fully, the realisation lifting a heavy weight of him, even though destined to be among the Midvinter stars, life would be what he made it, how he wanted it, and how he would be himself. “A few more moments out here in the cold”, he said in a whisper before leaning down to kiss her soft warm lips.

Nida had hung back with Thirdas, more than content to take her cues from him. One by one, guests and family members greeted the bride and groom, offering their congratulations to the happy couple. She nearly froze when Thirdas beckoned her forward, introducing her to his brother and new sister in law.

Stepping forward, she drew in a quick breath. “H-hello. I’m Nida Perl, a friend of Thirdas.” She smiled awkwardly, realizing that she’d simply repeated what Thirdas had said. “Congratulations to both of you on this special day!” She bowed quickly, still a little iffy on the local customs. Bowing was not normally a part of Zeltros culture, but she’d seen others doing in here before both the newlyweds and king. “It was an honor to attend the ceremony, Lord and Lady Heavenshield.”

While Vik spoke of what troubled him, Yula absently brushed a stray dark curl behind his pointed ear. “I can imagine it must be strange to hear. Especially with…” With his father being left out. She could tell that Vik was proud of both sides of his heritage, and rightly so. He did not choose his father, but Velkar was still a god and from what she’d heard, had the ability to do good within him. There was no doubt in her mind that Vik was a good person.

A few snowflakes settled onto her bare shoulders and Yula pressed herself closer, having forgotten to retrieve her cloak before venturing outside. But it didn’t matter, being in Vik’s arms made her feel warmer.

“We can stay out here as long as you need.” She whispered back, resting her head against his chest as they broke the kiss. “The bride and groom won’t miss us if we spend a few more minutes alone; they’ve got plenty to attend to.” Indeed, guests and family members alike had been giving the newlyweds their well wishes when she’d slipped out.

The talk of Vik’s family stirred a sudden memory in her head, something she’d held onto for several months now. Yula had wondered how to broach the subject, but supposed that there’d never be a right time for it.

“Vik,” She pulled away, lending some strength to her voice. Her hands were on his arms, gently as she pulled back just enough to see his face. “I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now but…while I was in the north with Theo and the others, we…I met Velkar.”

Kahne wasn't the one who was getting married today, however he couldn't stop himself from showing a big smile. Not just because he was happy for the Heavenshields but just because he knew how much this day meant to him a long time ago when he experienced it with [member="Alexandra Russo Porte"]

The Jedi Master caught a glance from the now married duo and he gave them a respectful nod that followed with as bow of his head. He was sure he would be able to personally get to meet them sometime soon, however for now this would suffice. Kahne didn't want to get to much in the way. The Jedi Master caught glance of [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] coming his way. He had heard quite a bit about this man and his reputation preceded him. The Jedi Master returned the respectful bow and then held out his hand to shake Thurions.

"No, I assure you the honor is mine my friend."

Kahne chuckled a bit when he mentioned why they hadn't met earlier in their lives. "Well, we've been busy perhaps." Which was quite true, he had heart much tales of Thurions adventures especially within the Silver Jedi. And Kahne himself at his earlier times have been busy with the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Alliance. The good thing was, that they met now.

"Perhaps she speaks too highly of me." Kahne said with a smile as he cast a glance over at Coci then back to Thurion. Kahne only had a small hand in her training everything else was done by her. "She's a great person, I'm happy you both found each other."

Kahne raised his hand slightly to get the attention of the attendant bringing around drink and he took the mug.

"Midvinter, it is really extraordinary. For someone who is not of this culture there is much to learn and uncover, it's breathtaking even." Kahne spoke then he took a small drink from the mug. The Jedi wasn't exaggerating either, the lore and history that this place offered was nothing short of extraordinary. The Jedi Master hadn't even come close to learning about everything that there was to offer, but it was something he would spend more time here doing. He was more than sure Alexandra would enjoy this place too.

"Him being left out?", this caused Vik to smile. "And with good reason I think, marriage is hard enough without the prospect of having chaos in life". He shook his head with the amusement of it, not only for the vowels but his own silliness of leaving the service. Now that he had time to gather himself more, and with Yula here, he felt a little foolish, like a spoiled child running from being left out.

As if on cue, a roar of laughter from the Grand Hall spilled out into the streets and the celebrations were well underway and Yula was right in thinking the bride and groom would not miss them. His hand raised and rested against her hair as she lay against him, watching the people in the streets carry on their own celebrations, children running up and down the streets with freedom as everyone seemed to not have a care in the world. It was a good day, everyone was enjoying the wedding even if not attending inside. He pulled her closer to keep her warm.

But what she said next made him tense up, his arm firmed around her shoulders as his head snapped to look down into her face. "What .. ?", he could hardly believe it. His face turned as pale as the snow on the mountain tops, considering the last time he had seen his father and what happened, well every time he sees his father, there was always a sense of danger in the event. "What was he doing there?", Vik really did not know what to ask of her, or rather which question to ask first.

Suddenly he shifted on the spot and turned her to face him, his hands placed gently on both her arms, "Did he hurt you?", he asked looking her in the eyes as if he still could fathom secrets. And for the first time in a long time, he wished he could.

The shift in Vik’s demeanor was very clear, even without her eyes fixated on his face and anticipating his reaction. Velkar was always a tricky subject with Vik, and one she tried to broach carefully.

“I don’t know.” She answered truthfully, sounding a little hopeless. The God of Mischief and his motives were certainly a mystery to her, almost as much as the relationship between father and son. Vik’s intense gaze made her hesitate, but Yula felt no urge to look away. Her love’s face was etched with concern, and it touched her more deeply than she had expected. “He didn’t harm me.” One hand went to rest against his face in an attempt to comfort and squash any worry.

“Mostly, he just seemed interested in…taunting us?” She squinted, trying to see if she could remember the situation exactly. Adrenaline may have blurred the finer details of this specific memory. “He said that you were a chip off the old block, more than you even know.” Now she looked at him with a more curious, discerning eye. “You two do look awfully alike.” Really, Vik was a carbon copy of his father with pointed ears.

He was relieved to hear that Velkar had not harmed her or the others in any way, although he had to wonder why Velkar was there in the first place but that is something he will never know, nor them probably. Taunting them? this he knew well enough by experience, and that can be dangerous alone when it comes to Velkar. "A chip off the old block.. I suppose I am, certainly in looks", he had to agree with her, but Velkar never says anything without cause or some kind of truth behind them. Did he mean that Vik was dangerous like him? or was it power he was talking about.

It was nice just sitting here on the steps with Yula but she did not come to Thainbroek for this, and there was a celebration that they were missing out on, Vik decided to put all his concerns behind and simply have some fun with his beloved Yula, no matter what others might think of him. "Come on lets get back inside", it was cold out here too and although Vik was more at home in the winter than most, she was not.

He stood up, standing in front of her with his hand reached out to her to take. "Would you do me the honour of dancing with me", he smiled as the music picked up in the Grand Hall. And there was mead, plenty of it if the groom had anything to do with it. Once they passed through the doors, the heat was stifling from all the fires and bodies in the large room. Vik slipped her coat off and walked her to the dancing which centered around the central hearth, not paying any attention to those around them.

The music was one of those joyous Valkyri ditties that no one could refuse and soon he was kicking up his heels looking as silly as the others around them in the traditional Valkyri dance.
