Brayden's large frame nestled comfortably against Faye's once more as he finished shaking the hands of Adron and Alessandra. The Minister's immediate launch into questions caused the Prince to quirk a single brow as a faint smile played on his lips.
Direct. In all honesty, Brayden appreciated those that were direct in their social discourse. He scarcely saw the need to utilize ten words or excessive imagery on someone that needed a mere three words to understand a point.
As soon as he had the thought, Brayden had to stifle a laugh. His interactions with Faye tended to be the
exact opposite, but that was because the woman wrapped in his left arm was worth every element of imagery or loquacious wording possible. It perfectly diagrammed the rather impossible task of
describing his love for her or her complete irresistible nature. Raising his right hand slightly in defense of Alessandra's immediate question to the rest of the Malverns, Brayden allowed his smile to melt into an easy, neutral expression.
"It's not a problem. I am from the Unknown Regions, and I rather doubt you've heard the name of the planet. The rest of the story is rather droll and rather unoriginal these days. Tales of sweeping Empires of old administered by long dead ancestors. Now, my family is responsible for a mere fraction of that storied glory."
Shifting his gaze to Faye, Brayden's smile easily widened.
"Faye seemed to enjoy herself there, however. As for how we met, it was during my first visit to Geonosis, in a club that we quickly abandoned for the serenity of the outdoors." There was a brief pause in the Sith Lord's prose as he briefly considered Adron's last question.
"I--" Brayden's response was cut short by two very distinct events. The first was a...child? Why was a child even unattended at a gathering such as this? Remaining perfectly still, the Sith Lord shifted his silver-green gaze briefly in the direction of Faye. Though he said nothing, his expression and thoughts, to which she was very well attuned now, asked the simple question.
Do you know this girl?
No sooner had the thoughts drifted through his mind than the raucous sound of sublight engines ripped overhead and lingered as [member="Darth Tacitus"] made
quite the entrance. There was no way anybody could have possibly missed well...any of it. The man descended to the planet like a conquering hero. But...Brayden was pretty sure he remembered hearing that Faye's family had
paid for this world. In this particular instance, it seemed to be a touch
too far to Brayden's mind. However, massive military processionals were not a thing on Endelaan. Victory was marked only by a party, and it was rarely a glitzy affair. It was more...well...undoubtedly more like the party happening on the other side of the planet.
This reality indicated the different worlds from which Faye and himself hailed. However, they would both have to be comfortable and capable of walking in each other's worlds from time to time now. It was not a reality that Brayden minded so long as she was by his side. Clenching his teeth together, Brayden resisted the urge to laugh at the dramatic arrival. Though the man's presence was
unfamiliar to Brayden, it was far too close to Faye's for Brayden's intimate knowledge of her own presence not to give a very good hint. It must have been her other brother.
Obviously the party planning gene is in your family, not mine.
