The Wrong Side of Heaven - Republic Invasion of Alderaan (Knights, Padawans, NFUs only)

Oka Osaa

Location: Close to temple entrance
Allies: Republic

Objective: Do not kill but stand guard

Oka didn't want to kill anybody and he hoped he didn't. He came down and landed by the gunship checking for survivors with light sabers in hands. "You've been damaged, surrender!" Oka commanded as he came closer but slowly to the ship still functional. "Mother fether" He said as he turned around and started running to his ship.

So the blood stopping thing sadly had an affect on Garth, nausea and disorientation washed over him, but he kept himself together, if he could fight through pain, he could fight though this. Staggering he took note of the rather dangerous looking bits of molten rock flying towards him. Lowering himself and rolling right, he avoided the hail of death. The first one anyway.

Garth did the smart thing, he fething moved. Barreling into cover he tipped his head out to fire several more slugs at the retreating Jedi. Each shot kicked the weapon back against his shoulder, and the blast illuminate the area around him for but a moment, casting a light on the face under the hood. If the weapon had been a blaster, it'd be useless, but sometimes he'd learned that the classics still were plenty useful. Like right now.

As Xiangu's grip eased off, so did Ashin's response. She rose, opened her, eyes rolled her neck; the aura of protection faded. The world was bright.

She'd never been one to sense the balance of the Force, but she caught the edges of it. This battlefield was still hotly contested, but the other front was lost, and lost hard. She saw the writing on the wall.

No matter how many new Knights and Acolytes she outmaneuvered or forced to fleet, she couldn't balance the loss of that other battlefield. What purpose, then, continuation of the fight? (Dispassionately, she considered the possibility that this was another mentalist trick from Xiangu. She couldn't entirely discount it. On balance, though, she felt her thoughts were her own.) Most of the forces around her seemed able to disengage as necessary; the Sith had no real advantage here that she could see, apart from a slight edge in numbers of the disposable.

A stray blaster bolt slashed in; an instant's thought flared that aura again, just for a heartbeat, and the bolt skimmed past the side of her head, taking the sunglasses with it. The aura faded once more. Pale eyes tracked Xiangu in her circling path.

She found she wanted to continue this; it was a challenge and then some, and not a bit of it personal. But to continue it after the balance had broken -- that wasn't the Fringe way of doing business, of fighting each other on foreign battlefields. To keep it up too long was to risk coming across as invested, as angry, as taking steps toward personal enmity. No sensible Fringer would risk that.

Xiangu was still close to her mind, could sense her surface thoughts. To her fellow Knight of the Fringe, Ashin offered a raised eyebrow and a shrug -- and a mental touch of her own.

This war isn't ours. If this goes on, though, we may have to start reexamining the balance of power, and what it means for our interests. Ovmar's position could be more useful than any of us know. Her eyes flashed in grim amusement. Earn your bona fides with the One Sith -- currency for later. Take down Ashin Varanin. I'll pull a skin-of-my-teeth escape; there's a bike just behind you that lost its rider.

Make it pyrotechnic or something. I don't mind taking a hit.

Objective: Enough games..

Kezeroth's Force Crush started to seriously take affect after few minutes, The Gen'Dai in his rage slowly closed his fists ending the Hold and Crushing the the pillars and walls that supported the Tunnel. Unsure where the Jedi went to, their retreat was a quick one once the Sith gave the Tunnel attention. The Pillars Fell and walls Caved in sealing the Tunnel off from the Temple. Dust Flew in the Gen'Dais sweaty Face as he watched his art piece become in form. With a Grin Kezeroth said " Destruction.. So beautiful.." With that said and the Tunnel sealed Kezeroth found a spot to take a knee and started resting from the intense Power he used for the Duration and also started searching for a New objective. He needed to Kill something...

((Sorry for the delay, been a hectic week!))

"Mantorok is a strong name," Kian said, deciding he should introduce himself, "I am Kian Karr," Kian continued, stepping closer but not too close.

"I don't wish to fight you, because it is not my way. When there is an opportunity for a peaceful solution, it should be taken." Kian said. He hadn't, regretfully, had many opportunities lately to resolve things without bloodshed. Kian was capable of fighting, but he preferred not to.

As this was going on, Kian heard the struggle off to his side, as Tugoro fought either the Sith or the Voxyn. Kian couldn't tell, as his attention was drawn by the sith before him. However, as he spoke with the lizard, he felt something spreading out toward the soldiers around him. It felt wrong. Realizing what was happening, Kian felt a sudden twinge of sickness. He was a telepath and would never condone the manipulation of another in such a way.

The Sith's force attack collided with the soldiers, causing many to fall to their knees as the psychic assault overpowered their minds. Kian had little choices before him. He too could stretch out, using his species innate abilities as telepathy to try and shield some of the soldiers minds, but that would leave him open to attack, and while he hoped that things could be resolved peacefully, Kian felt in the force that the lizard and he would not settle this peacefully.

Kian weighed his options for a split second and then stretched his mind out into the surrounding area. He felt the touch of the closest soldiers first and then, as he connected with their minds, he spread his consciousness out, touching as many of the soldiers minds as he could. He couldn't help them all, and some would be left feeling the devastating effects of the darkside attack, but those he did touch he was certain he could help. Pouring feelings of warmth and hope into their minds, Kian worked at countering the attack from the Sith sorceress.

But in his vulnerable state, Kian wasn't sure what the cost of aiding the soldiers would be.

One of the issues with living alone for over two centuries was the distinct lack of investment in the lives of others. There wasn't malice of malevolence binding the thoughts and actions of the enigmatic robed figure - his attentions and desires didn't lie within the sentients themselves. There was only a few things that would rouse the interest of the seven foot creature who was slowly turning his frame to face the Jedi. These bipeds mattered little to him, and other than being in his proximity and displaying behavior that he'd observe and ponder - their desires, hopes, dreams, and aspirations were of no consequence. It was only what he could learn from them that garnished any further advancement of his continued presence or interest.

The brothers had ceased their attack nigh at the same moment, drawing themselves into the obscurity of a cloaked presence before lighting higher to the trees above. A reverse snap-hiss of his blade powering down the only sound from the robed being. Neither had met Nazo before, nor himself - them. The only true indication in this circumstance that would even hint at his allegiances would be the taint of the dark side aura that rested on his disguised form. Other than that one glaring detail, he was a mystery, to them, and to the Jedi before him. Contrary to popular belief though, he wasn't protecting the Jedi in some altruistic manner - but rather just staying the attack until he was absolved of the knowledge he sought.

Physically mute, and void of expression on the static porcelain mask that tilted on occasion in an attempt to convey a curious nature; Nazo stared again at Raste for a moment longer, judging her in silent scrutiny while the brothers perched atop the tree branches watched the exchange. While his observations of the sentient condition were vast and full of treasure troves of information, he often mimicked his only friend in the gaping cosmos that spun their tiny Galaxy. A mutated Gizka that went without formal name, a constant companion on most worlds was inherently absent from this world. Often that little lizard would tilt it's own head back and forth when studying that of Nazo or other sentient life. Thus the same came from his masked figure whose own motions seemed often ethereal in the grace and manner of movement. Rare few had peaked behind the curtain of his dark and heavy robes to see what manner of creature lay behind the unusual appearance, and yet that was not it's purpose. He was simply adopting a covering that would enable mobility and furnish interaction.

"Prevention holds no value, the paths of chance and will hold no fetter - I object not but to knowledge withheld." This time the telepathic musings of Nazo were not projected to the brothers, but directly to the Jedi before him. He had no reason to keep her here - there was no battle or threat to his person - and as just stated, he only sought knowledge. The withheld snippets of truth and reason were his only driving factors this day, and thus why he prevented to the assault moments ago from the two Acolytes now watching. If she had more to offer, and a greater understanding to bestow upon her seven foot companion this day, then he was here to be enlightened - otherwise he would not hold her there. However, whatever manner of ill will and disdain the brothers above had, that was certainly a different story; of which Nazo wasn't compelled to read.

You could learn a lot in two-hundred years, but he was still gathering data and input wherever he could. Whether that was from the fresh corpse of a security guard that he'd mounted in an art gallery, or a port official who'd succumb to the poisonous bite of his friend - knowledge was knowledge. The only sentient he seemed intent on keeping company with on a more consistent note was his mentor and teacher in the ways of the Force - [member="Duvain"], the Gray Hunter and eater of brains. He'd be consulting the Anzati after a while to process these interactions on any remaining questions he might have about the actions taken here today on Alderaan.

Things changed at about the same time Varanin seemed to drop her aura, a subtle shift in the dynamic of the battle around them that was confirmed by the sweep of the Jedi’s gaze in her direction. Matsu spared herself just a glance up at the sky, a second’s observation of the slow rotation of dropships and sharp veers of fighters breaking formation and heading back up towards atmosphere, before looking back to Varanin before she could pull something while Matsu wasn’t looking.

It seemed she needn’t have bothered however.

Matsu had joined the One Sith in defending what they’d taken partly because she liked the guts it took to take the planet, and partly because she’d been asked. She wasn’t one to actively seek out a fight, nor was she deeply invested in the One Sith’s workings or future at least for the moment. With the change in the action of the clashes around them she felt any drive but the one to meet Varanin on equal footing disappear, the motivation to protect the Temple falling by the wayside once it was clear the Sith would win the day. The feeling of enjoying the push and pull of direct confrontation was admittedly foreign and she didn’t want to give it up right at the moment – but the quiet words pouring in to her mind from Varanin were right. This didn’t need to escalate.

But she curled around the idea that the Jedi presented, feeling a slight stutter in her thoughts. Take down Ashin Varanin? A notch in anybody’s belt to be sure, and one she suspected very few could claim. But she was loathe to accept something she did not earn by blood, sweat, and tears – loathe to bend under the strange victory that Varanin clutched by controlling the ending of their confrontation. She felt a slight twitch of her lips in something like a smile before offering the slightest shake of her head. She’d killed for the OS, potentially risked her neck and helped them gain victory for the day. She couldn’t just walk away…but she wouldn’t claim something she didn’t really accomplish, not even if she had needed it.

I think that currency would feel a little hollow, though I appreciate it. We’ll meet this way again perhaps – and then if I take you down, I’ll earn it.

She reached one more time and performed a technique that had become so easy it was like reflex, tugging at Varanin’s mind and taking her vision. Of course, the Jedi had proven herself to be resourceful when it came to sheltering herself in her head and it was entirely possible that the full effect of the intrusion wouldn’t be reached. But Matsu had performed this so many times and did it so easily she felt confident that she could at least confuse Varanin’s senses enough to slip in to the chaotic tide that had turned around them. It wasn’t retreat (hit me now, we can finish this, however it ends we CAN finish this) but they’d squared off, sized each other up, and continuing the hostility was pointless in the face of their greater picture. (Whoever thought you'd be one to see reason, Matsu?)

Until next time.

Allies: Teria Cortus and the EMBUS
Enemies: [member="Atrace"] and [member="Urak"]
Objective: Withdraw

Nazo disappeared, and so did one of the newcomers. Seemingly. Of course, at this time, Teria and her group of EMBU's finally appeared on the scene. They sprinted in towards Niamh, with Teria moving towards the woman and two of the EMBU's each moving towards the Sith apprentices. Though he'd hidden himself in the Force, the Sith was unable to hide his heat signature. The droids could pinpoint them with accuracy, and moved to attack the new acolytes.
"You alright?" Teria asked.

"Fine. Time to go, though. I sense everyone withdrawing."

"Agreed. The EMBU's will keep them busy until we're down range."

Niamh nodded and turned to run off with Teria, intent on disappearing into the wood. The two both made their Force Presences disappear, to make it harder to be tracked. The EMBU's, highly skilled fighting droids with blades capable of dealing with lightsabers, should be able to keep the two Acolytes busy long enough for them to escape.

Urak

Location: Forest
Allies: Atrace
Enemies: [member="Niamh Raste"]
Objective: Let the jedi escape

Urak, went away from the forest as he was hidden in the shadows. Keeping to them so the enemies can not detect him. He moved silently, but quickly.
Urak, knew the battle was won, and fighting another jedi was not worth it at the moment with his injuries. So he moved away from his enemies.

Looking around at all the dead bodies and craters in the forest from the former battle, Urak was glad the sith had won. If it was any different he would have probably still fought the jedi until he died on this battlefield. Urak sat on a boulder outside the forest waiting for his brother to make his way to him.

The strike came too quickly for Melkaroth to dodge, and caught the side of his arm. With a shower of sparks, Melkaroth felt the arm's primary functions go offline--though he had been luck enough not to have it removed entirely, the vital circuits must have been cut. Melkaroth snarled in fury--the strike that should have won him the fight outright had cost him a limb. It was not his primary arm, but it had its own advantages that he would now be unable to use.

Reacting instantly, Melkaroth used the opening to aim a savage kick at his enemy's chest with the full force of his cybernetically enhanced metal leg; the blow was powerful enough to send his enemy flying. At the same time he deactivated the rear blade of his saber, preparing to get into a fighting stance. However inconvenient their little trade-off had been, Melkaroth still felt he had come out on top. The strike he had inflicted on his enemy, along with the kick, would hopefully inflict a great deal of pain on the Jedi--something Melkaroth was almost completely incapable of feeling due to the fact that most of his body was metal and wires and most of the remaining flesh was devoid of working nerves. Meanwhile, his enemy would hardly be able to deliver such overpowering strikes with just one arm, and Melkaroth hoped that the wound would sap his strength.

Now the two duelers were even with each other. They would only have one arm functioning that wasn't good for the Jedi and the Sith. While Hatake could continue to use Djem So it would be quite difficult for him to only use one arm to fight with that form. He decided that he would utilize the dueling form Makashi_ something that he could do with only one arm.

There was nothing he could do about the kick coming towards him. He was flying in the air, the air in his lungs was kicked out of him and you could hear him wheezing as he tried to breathe for oxygen. The Padawan landed hard on the ground, a couple of meters away from his opponent, and got up with using both feet and his functioning arm. Hatake would stop calling for the Force to enhance his physical strength, since Makashi was elegant, efficient, and precise and didn't require any strength or aggressiveness.

"Do not think you have won, Sith," the Jedi said to his for, one eye observing him. He walked forward to the Sith, preparing himself for the opponent's next move.

He leaped high up into the air, landing firmly on the roof of the temple. "Master." Mala Kulan noted to [member="Darth Acarus"], with a small dip of his head. He stood, in a silence, with realising that the Sith was not yet here. Unsure what to do or say, he stood quietly, rocking back and forth on his toes, and waited for his Master and counterpart.

It did look rather awkward, him standing there, by himself on the roof, if anyone noticed, at that. He'd hidden himself, as a few Jedi were scattered in a far corner, away from him.

Location: Forest near Republic Base Camp
Enemy: [member="Countess of Báthory"]
Ally: Kian Karr

Having positioned himself atop a tree branch previously, Tugoro would feel no ways as the Voxyn wildly swung it's tail around, desperate to land a strike on whatever was constricting it's snout. That would do little to help, for the refined force grip that the young Padawan formed had been successful in preventing it's sonic screeches. The creature would continue to squirm to no avail, even firing off needle-like bristles that would fly towards the Republic troops known as Strike Squad. Allowing his mind to reach out with the force, the boy would sense his comrades, and even [member="Kian Karr"] nearby. He hadn't been aware of their presence. Gritting his teeth in anger, Tugoro would be annoyed at the fact that they had showed up, for it only put their lives in danger. The Countess would begin to weave her sorcery, it effecting some republic troopers, causing them to pass out or flee altogether. However with the Keldor's help, some of them stood their ground, even though they did not act yet. Rusher, who was equipped with the lightest armor, would begin to move as the needle fired, it slicing through his armor, but not managing to pierce his skin. Mahrik's movements were far slower than his leader's, for the heavy weapons expert wore rather weighted and durable armor. The bristle would impact with his armor, digging into it, managing to simply scratch the man's skin. Despite the apparent minor looking injury, the man would pass out, the poisons effecting him rather quickly. Viktor, who had been a target as well would begin to move frantically, apparently having prior knowledge of the creature before him. The dangerous poison would miss him completely, only due to the fact that he had slammed violently into a tree, thus knocking himself out.

Tugoro could not help but face palm softly as he watched, wishing that Kian had drawn the troops away from the battle. The young boy would leap down from the tree, his feet landing gracefully upon the soft dirt and grass. Having lived on Kashyyykk for the majority of his life, Tugoro had many encounters with dangerous creatures that were known to be challenging, even for Wookiees. However, the young boy in the best never opted to use his brute strength, rather his compassion and empathy that emanated through the force. He liked animals, and disliked harming them. So, instead of attempting to finish the Voxyn that was only a few metres away, the young Padawan would reach out with his force prowess, sending telepathy messages to the intelligent creature. He would attempt to sway it from battle, hopefully being able to convince it to abandon it's master and living a life of luxury as a king of the forest. He wasn't exactly sure how that idea would appeal to the deadly creature, though he figured it must've sounded good. Right? Standing still and firmly, Tugoro would regularly shoot glances between the creature, and it's master, who was still only a few metres away as well.

Switching to the one-handed variant of Juyo, Melkaroth raised his saber above his head and swung it downwards in a diagonal slash, putting his full force into the strike. If it was blocked or dodged he would attack once more from the side, battering at his enemy and hoping to overpower him. He had no intention of trying to finish the fight straight away; he was content merely to slowly wear the Jedi down in a protracted duel. He would, therefore, be careful to guard against any attacks and ensure that the Jedi could not gain the upper hand, but for now, he was going on the offensive, though he was ready to immediately switch back into a tight guard if he needed to.

Location: Temple
Allies: Pubs
Enemies: OS
Objective: Duel

The Jedi reacted to the attack of the Sith and deflected, blocked, batted away, (however you want to call it) the saber of with a flick of his saber going to the right. Then, another attack, but horizontal, came towards him and he took a step backwards to avoid the blade. Switchin from the defensive to the offensive Hatake gave a precise, swift lunge at the torso of Sith. He had no intention of finsihing the duel and would allow his opponent to fight with his anger and let him attack until he found an opening in the duel.
