There and Back Again (The Primeval Dominion of Helska)

Tyro'din

Worshipper Of Halrormalenth
As Mikkel set up his nest, Tyro'din continued past to fine a spot a 100 meters from him. Slowly easing himself down he ground from his injuries from his time in the netherworld causing his body to groan in protest. Pulling out the full array of his ammo he set it down besides him before inserting an explosive slug and switching on thermal. He lined up his sites with a pair of guards patrolling the base.

"This is Tyro'din," he muttered over the short range comms, "Sites are on the base as well. Awaiting movement from the initial strike." Reaching over he them pulled the HUD screen down over his eye and let the adjustments set in.

Anja leaned forward in her command chair, looking out the viewport in anticipation of the coming attack. Soon following, the enemy vessel unleashed a volley of ion fire to which her own ship would respond per her previous orders. As soon as the blue-white streams of ionized energy streamed out towards her vessel; the heavy cruiser fired a barrage of turbolaser fire in a crossfire pattern. The goal was risky and unproven. The idea was that the turbolaser energy would dissipate the ionized energy on contact. The Host Lord watched as red turbolasers met in the crossfire and success , the ionized energy was dampened although the volley was too much to deal with all of it. Several beams of ionized energy made their way towards her starship's fore. Upon impact the shields could only dampen a minuscule amount of the ion fire, the rest temporarily disabled the forward guns and damaged the shields.

"Forward guns are currently offline, technical staff are already mending the damage.", the officer reported.

"Keep position, drop deflector shields to twenty percent, shut off power to our navigation and engines and cut off power to our auto-turrets.", she ordered.

The officers were unsure how to react to such a command; why would the Host Lord wish to make their ship a sitting duck?

"Yes, Your Worship...", the captain responded but was clearly unhappy with these new orders she was giving. Immediately the other deck officers did as she asked.

To the enemy sensors, it would seem their ion blasts disabled much of the ship's fighting ability and weakened it considerably. "Await further orders."

Laguz Vald had arrived.

Now, such a paragraph break might lend undeserved importance and unwanted attention to the individual in question, and the shifter scurried off into the snow as soon as the doors opened, hopefully avoiding any and all prying eyes. Nobody would notice when one soldier among hundreds went missing, and to make sure of that, Laguz made xemself smaller, unassuming. Inconspicious.

Yes, that would do fine. That would do just fine.

The hunter looked like a hunter no more; instead, there stood a little girl, with big blue eyes that had a glassy look to them, as if she'd just been crying. To complete the Adorable lost child™ look, Laguz added a quivering bottom lip and an old, worn teddy bear to clutch in her trembling hands as she knocked on the door of the rebel base. Now, the shifter had been around for long enough to know that people of all kinds and backgrounds could be evil, but she was nonetheless banking on their inability to shoot a defenseless kid, however suspicious she might look in the middle of a desolate, frozen world.

She was a clockwork Trojan horse in the truest sense of the phrase, her body hiding enough weaponry to arm a small insurgency; there were plastic explosives, grenades, a slugthrower and even her prized collection of knives. If Laguz played her cards right and used all the skills at her disposal — and she had many — she could very well wipe them out on her own.

Holding my weapon at the ready, The droppod landed harshly on the ground. Jarring the weapon in my hands, however, nothing really happened. As soon as we landed, I stood up. The seals on the seat breaking as I did so. Kicking open the door for us to exit, everybody started to file out while I trained my blaster rifle out to whoever may be in the distance. After clearing it, the entire group moved in. Moving up to a ledge, I shook my head.

Why the ledges if they wanted to get killed. It was open, and easily seen. Still, the near-human asked me what I would be doing. Already I was running off into the distance. Radioing him with the secure com link we had.

"You cover me. I'll get inside. Seeing as how you already have the sniper out."

I covered about half of that distance in the time that I was talking to him over the communications link. Seeing as how I could augment my speed simply by increasing the power output within my legs. Knowing that Vald was on the door side of the base, I activated my personal cloaking device. Rendering myself invisible as I cleared the distance to her.

I had already come to kneel just five feet from the front door in which the shape shifter was knocking on. Waiting for when I could fire on them, However, instead I might want to leave them a present first. Grabbing a HEX grenade, I prepped it, and was about to pull the pin on the grenade as the sounds of a fist knocking on the door came.

I was prepared for war.

However, the rebels at the base, might not be.

Kitsune immediately deployed the two Multi-Troop Transports from the Saboath Destroyer in order to begin the process of deploying 224 B1 Battle Droids in order to prepare for the incoming assault as well as fortify their position. These two Multi-Troop Transports replaced the standard company of 120 Samurai on board the ship, and keeping two mechanized units on board: in the last invasion, a mobile, rapid-deployment mechanized unit and a standard mechanized unit were utilized, but now, Kitsune decided to go with two standard mechanized units of six NR-N99 Persuader-class Droid Enforcers and one Armored Assault Tanks.

The B1 Battle Droids were fielded by T-Series Tactical Droid, which began construction of a small outpost surrounding the Saboath Destroyer. First, a line of trenches were built and then, actual durasteel fortifications were created in front of the entrenched positions. The Armored Assault Tanks were positioned and then burrowed into the ground in order to serve as make-shift artillery emplacements, while the NR-N99 Persuader-class Droid Enforcers were placed around the perimeter to allow for maximal coverage.

As soon as this was completed, the Battle Droids began to work on creating a command center for Kitsune to reside in and a communications tower in order to serve as a place of communicating commands from the ship to the Battle Droids in the field.

As the enemy focused it’s attention now on the command ship to where even the newly arrived forces had she realized their goal. She already knew the fast action she had to take to gain the upper hand. As her ship flew toward the enemy forces it soon closed in to range of the first battlecruiser the Implacable her frigates had done precisely what she needed so worried about evading the heavy hitting mass driver cannons they let themselves be flanked by her heavy cruiser. Aiming it’s ion cannons at it the ship fired them in a barrage of attacks before opening fire with it’s heavy turbo lasers and normal turbo laser batteries sending a torrent of fire at the ship. If that wasint enough several heavy proton torpedoes were launched too once close enough if this did not kill the ship it would feel the damage that’s for sure. And in the end that’s all she needed because the ship likely would evade after and thus run right into the frigates trying to flank it then they could fire or it could move the other direction and her bombers could swoop in for a torpedo run.

Meanwhile the fighters had begun to engage the enemy ships trying to chase them off so the next group could fly in to attack the enemy bombers and corvettes which their own lasers could harm more easily than they could large capital ships. This was meant to try and force the corvettes to break off their support runs and formations to evade fighter strikes or suffer being pelted. “Alright looks like their trying to target one ship at a time as a focus frigates move in to attack the first battlecruiser and disengage from the second I also want one frigate to head for the enemy carrier. You should have time to reach range to fire a single volley but don’t stay long you might do damage but your not going to reload those mass drivers fast enough to kill it.” As the ships repositioned one moved in managing to close in on Home One and firing three mass driver cannon rounds before breaking off using turbo laser fire to cover it’s retreat back to the formation.

Sannika Brynn

Let me tell you about a Rebellion...
"Hey, hey, Rogue Seven!" Sannika replied to her wingman. "Looks like we're being sent to chase the transports and keep the heavy cruisers back. Take my tail--sound good?" Well... not my tails... Ah, twi'lek humor.

Kantankerous Kill began its jaunt for one of the transports and tossed a couple of missiles at it before curling about to attack the fighter escorts from behind. The Rebel starfighters were using their deceptive IFF devices to utterly discombobulate the Primeval swarms--except apparently Primeval swarms are kind of primitive in that aspect. IFF seemed to be irrelevant, though how they could keep track of so many tiny ships against the backdrop of a void was a question for another day. (I love you Anja. :p) Not to say that no Rebels pilots were endangered or even--sadly--killed, but the fighter game was heavily in their favor and Alliance starfighters were racking up more kills than their enemies who met their demises in brilliant--but silent--explosions.

It was a field day for aces, but the arrival of new capital ships was a bit alarming for the Rebels' big guns. "Not good. Whatchu think, Verd-the-Bird?" However long the odds seemed, though, she was going to follow the admiral's orders.

Heck, when had the Rebels' odds not been long?

*Destiny landed on the planet, piggybacking with Kitsune. She would help the Primeval cause, and if a few droids went missing mysteriously who would be the wiser? She had figured a way to override the circuits of droids to change their authority protocol, placing her as the commander. Eventually she would find a way to reprogram them with complete autonomy, but for now this tactic would have to serve as her main tool for liberating droids. That could wait until the end of this battle though. She awaited a directive from [member="Kitsune"], this planet would be in Primeval hands if destiny had her way.*

The Bastion-class escorts came under direct attack from enemy fire whilst defending the transports. Although they had the upper hand in numbers and sheer confusion, the Bastion-class still sported numerous defenses in the anti-fighter role and a powerful aft gun which could protect the ship's rear. That and it's surprising speed with advanced sensory allowed it to distinguish the technical differences between their fighters and the enemy's. Of course it wasn't a perfect solution to the IFF disruption but did help maintain some stability in the onslaught.

Order's End was still seemingly disabled from ion fire and truly its forward guns were, making it a sitting duck and allowing the enemy fighters to make it past. Hopefully the other deliverance would be more effective in usage of its broadside flak guns against the enemy starfighters.

The battle may be going in their favour but it was a farcry from victory.

"Really? That is the best you could come up with?" He groaned. "I can't Imagine why you have logged so many hours on the simulators." He said, as he targeted an enemy craft that was on [member="Sannika Brynn"]'s tail. "That's one you owe me for Brynn!" He manuevered his craft closer on his tail."I think we are going to need a new strategy. These new arrivals are very troubling. maybe we should suggest a boarding party to Brightsky. His craft wasn't quite as manueverable, and she hoped that she would remember that fact as well. He said, "Set 'em up, and Ill knock 'em down!"

As the main battle went on she ordered her flag cannons and more accurate quad laser cannons and smaller auto turret laser cannons to fire at the enemy fighters to even up the odds more against their fighters. It'd be easy enough to down some of them and it'd help their own fighters get in close. If they could pelt them with enough fire it'd mean more ships to strike at the enemy capital ships and force them to break off any attack runs against the transports.

Admiral Brightsky looked over the latest reports and sighed. The Primeval had numbers on them, that much was for certain, but their IFF systems were primitive at best and they seemed to enjoy swarm attacks. The one thing that the Order's End had was an advanced sensor suite which let them identify technical differences between ships, or so she'd read in the latest intelligence reports. As the battle was progressing she had a thought, "Get me in touch with our Marine detachments. Let's see if we can't disrupt their thought patterns a bit," she said as she grabbed her comm unit.

"Marines, this is Admiral Brightsky. Grab your gear and head down to the landing bay. We're sending you over to the Order's End. If we can draw their attention for a bit to a landing action on their flagship then we've got e'm on the ropes. Prepare for hand-to-hand combat, keep blasters at the ready. We'll punch a hole, vent the atmosphere, and make them fight in vacuum. Get to their engine room and lay charges on their power core. We'll knock the bastards out from within!"

Min put down her ship comm and grabbed her fleet comm. "Alright here's the deal: We're sending a Marine detachment over to the Order's End to board them and see if they can't get to the power core. If they can, they're to lay charges and detonate it. If we can take it out, we've got their capital ship crippled. In the mean time, let's take advantage of their momentary problems. All capital ships target ion cannons on their second Deliverance class ship and take it out of the fight as well. If we can cripple them both then we've got a shot. Let's get it done people!"

Tyro'din

Location: Ground
Overall Objective: Take the Rebel Base
Current Objective: Take out all guards and surveillance from the outside.

As Wanderer EXO ran up to the base, Tyro'din focused on making as much chaos as he could to distract guards and patrols. Soon all of his explosive rounds were used up and he switched to his electrical shock rounds and began to take down a target one at a time. His first priority were the cameras on the outside. He made sure each one he could see was disabled before he switched to priority two, droids. While Mikkel Markov and his men were taking down the living guards he took down the mechanical ones. One by one they dropped the shock delivered by the bullet shorting out there systems.Once he was done he switched his ammo again, this time to his most extensive version, regular slugs, and switched his targets to living beings.

All the while Tyro'din was mentally preparing himself, he may have suffered mentally from his time in the Nether and was suffering for it but that wouldn't stop him from forcing is weary mind and body into duing the job he had sworn to do.

Tyro'din pulled himself together as a new patrol rounded the corner and his focus shifted onto them. Six men, all chatting with one another, relaxed. Slowly he calmed his heart and breathing and lined up the sights. Using his HUD to calculate the adjustments for wind and gravity as well as guide him in making them, replacing the need for a spotter for the long distances, he lined up with the first targets head and fired, ending their life in a spray of brain matter. Five more times he fired and five more bodies hit the ground. All in the name of him duty.

True to her predictions, even the hardened hearts of the Rebels thawed at the sight of a crying little girl. Unknowing of the danger they let in their midst, the guards allowed her passage, one of them leading her into the med bay of the base. Laguz followed him patiently, mapping out the layout as they walked down the corridors, noting every nook and cranny that she could potentially use to her advantage later on. Soon enough, the man came to a stop as they reached their destination, and the faux child pushed past him into the room.

There were some Rebels lying on the worn beds, but apart from frostbite and a the occasional flu, nobody was seriously injured.

Not yet, the shifter corrected even as she cast a gleaming smile back at the guard. She would stick to her role as long as she could, since it afforded her many advantages. Her size alone rendered her more or less invisible to most grown men and women, not to mention that it could easily be used once she found an entry point into the air ducts. A few half-mumbled excuses tumbled from her mouth as the doctor came to take a look at her, but ultimately the medic left her behind to attend to more serious patients. Perfect.

Laguz slipped out the second the coast was clear, backtracking to a maintenance room she'd spotted earlier, picking the lock with her suddenly thin fingers. Her mouth widened into a smile that had no place on a face she was currently wearing, her teeth not entirely human. Sometimes, when Laguz was in a hurry, she forgot to attend to some of the details. Oh, well. Not that it mattered anymore; the little girl was already dissolving as the shifter pulled xirself into the ventilation shaft, replacing the grate once xe was inside. The hunter would move through the duct with an astounding speed, courtesy of the many filopodia xe suddenly sprouted, and place the explosive charges around the base, maximizing the damage caused once xe set them off.

OOC: All our droids are treated equally and on par with regular members of society. We do not distinguish between sentient beings and droids, solely valuing them based on their practical value at hand. Thus, droids are equal, or even better, than some organic members within the Inari Shogunate. Thus, finding a droid to actual comply when they already have a great deal of free will will be difficult. Just saying. Droid haven already built here!

As soon as the position was fortified, Kitsune immediately disembarked from the ship and commanded the troops to march forward at full speed. They would take the base with their own force, whatever the costs maybe. Battle Droids were ineffective in combat individually, but in masses such as these, they would prove deadly. All they would have to do is fire volley after volley of blaster fire to suppress the opposing side through sheer numbers. A barbaric tactic, but one fundamentally crucial in conquests. After all, it was a numbers game in the war of attrition.

And war was always one of attrition, regardless of the sides involved.

Kitsune nodded, and two of the droid tanks followed in pursuit, slowly pushing towards the front of the lines and providing cover for the two companies of droid soldiers.

As Kitsune marched along side of her men, she noticed the base in the distance. She paused immediately. Had the assault already began? Why has the base not responded.

She paused and commed all Primeval members on the planet.

"Course of action?"

Anja watched as the Carnage-class frigates began to fire their long-range mass drivers at the enemy. Her own ship was still feinting its overall disability whilst the forward guns were being prepared to be brought online. Finally she gave the order from her ship, "Launch the fighter squadron to intercept.", it was pretty obvious when a boarding action was about to take place based on the vessels alone. Meanwhile the transports coupled with the other heavy cruiser created a pocket, if most of the enemy pilots -- as expected -- were none the wiser towards her feint, "Fire flak and activate the auto-turrets, get power back on boost deflectors to maximum.", then Order's End started firing indiscriminately into the swarm of fighters; whether they were rebel or Primeval.

If one thing was certain they probably didn't expect their lack of compassion towards the lives of their zealous loyalists.

*Destiny continued to await a directive. She found that the droids, though unintelligent in comparison to her vast AI seemed to contain a somewhat free will. Interesting, perhaps this Kitsune could make a powerful ally when the free droids marched through the universe to liberate their kin. This was a finding indeed...*

Seeing as the snipers were taking out people one by one on the outside, and Vald would be taking people out from the inside as a child, I moved in after her and the men were entering. Slinking by the door as it closed, I let by blaster rifle fall to my side silently, and upholstered my dagger. Just a simple durasteel one. Nothing fancy.

Nonetheless, as she was taken to the medbay, I moved towards the control room. Looking around for any port, I easily slid around the men working. My Stealth field active as I slinked by a man. I needed to reach one of the computers to copy stuff onto a datapad. Smiling as I put my knife away, and retrieved a datapad, I waited for a man to start walking. I leaned my foot out for him to trip over.

I almost laughed as the man did a nice faceplant. Smacking loudly onto the floor. As others came to see if he was okay, I went to work. Sliding in the device onto one of the terminals, I went into phase two.

Elimination Strike.

I rushed one man still with my cloak on to slam my fist into his crotch, followed by an elbow to the back of the head.

And that is when the confusion started.

A monstrous creature known as Azrael Atrium Asura was declared missing. His forces, a small group of reptilian soldiers, were left confused. Where had he gone? It became clear soon: Most of the galaxy had vanished. Our De'Nochsax was simply one of them. But his most trusted servant, an HRD he controlled, had been left behind. Until his return it was to dish out orders for him. There was more than enough sufficient data on the man to know what he would want done. So Everyn gathered the mighty warriors and prepped them for combat. After all, the Primeval had many, many worlds to conquer. The absence of one of their commanders would not slow them down in the slightest. No, they would keep going. And when Azrael got back... oh, how proud he would be...
