There and Back Again (The Primeval Dominion of Helska)

Location: Bridge of Rebel Alliance Flagship Home One
Objective: Repel the Primeval Invasion Fleet from Helska IV
Enemies: The Primeval
Allies: The Rebel Alliance

Min looked over the tactical screen and saw the enemy frigates opening fire with long range mass drivers. "Pull our fleet back just out of range of their mass drivers but close enough that we can continue hitting them with ion cannons. Disperse the fleet a bit, make sure that they can't get any hits on our battle cruisers. Boarding party, look out for the flak cannons and short range turrets. I'm calling in our re-enforcements. I'm about ready for this battle to be over with."

Admiral Brightsky reached over and toggled her 'All Alliance' comms. "Alliance fleet, this is Home One. We have an emergency situation. I need all non-engaged fleet assets to rally over Helska IV, say again all non-engaged fleet assets rally over Helska IV. Our planetary base is under direct threat."

Min reached over and threw the toggle for planetary comms and hit the encryption key. "Rebel ground forces, this is Admiral Brightsky. We're having trouble up here with the Primeval fleet. If things head south and we have to pull back you're going to be defenseless. Begin preparing to disperse all ground forces to fight as guerrillas if need be. Say again, begin immediate preparations for an extended guerrilla campaign. Contact local authorities and start handing out blasters and weapons to local forces. Identify the most likely targets for Primeval attack and begin removing them immediately."

"I know this isn't our usual forte, but we can't let the Primeval gain control over a planet like this without making sure they suffer for it. Start overloading power generators, destroying transportation hubs, comm towers, spaceports, anything that they can use to justify their invasion. Scorched Planet ladies and gentlemen. If they want this system that badly then we'll give it to them. But they'll get a corpse in return. Watch your backs out there. May the Force be with all of you."

Mikkel watched as [member="Laguz Vald"] entered, and after helping [member="Tyro'din"] take out a patrol, sent out a message over comms: "Agents, this is Mikkel. Moving in to infiltrate from another entrance. Tyro'din, cover me as I move up." Without waiting for confirmation, Mikkel picked up his slugthrower, swapped out the variable scope for a close quarters sight, and ran towards the base.

Paying careful attention to where the cameras are located, Mikkel managed to get close to the base without being spotted. Holstering his rifle and pulling out his knives, Mikkel took a running start and scaled the fifteen foot wall of the base up to the guard station, which was unoccupied due to Laguz's trojan horse technique. Opening the access hatch, Mikkel waited for a guard to pass under and, when one did, grabbed them and stuck one of his knives into the base of their neck. Dragging them up through the hatch, Mikkel stripped the guard and took the uniform for himself. Shoving his agent armor into his pack, Mikkel jumped back down the hatch and sealed the entrance.

If anyone looked too closely at Mikkel, they would see right through his disguise. There was a touch of blood at the nape of the uniform's neck, but it was mostly on the inside of the collar. The only other thing about his disguise that would give him away would be the slugthrower on his back, but most of the rebels inside the base were too anxious about the impending invasion to pay that close of attention.

Walking through the base, Mikkel searched for the control room. Coming across it, Mikkel peeked inside and saw the men inside were already knocked out. Someone has been here already Mikkel thought, and continued to move past as if he hadn't seen anything. Making his way to the generator room, Mikkel pulled out his knives and slit the throat of the two men standing guard. Reaching the control panel, Mikkel turned off all power and life support for the base. "Lights out," Mikkel said over comms to the other agents. Unholstering his rifle again, Mikkel walked out the door and started to slaughter the blinded soldiers.

My body moved between each one. Moving faster and faster as the droid enhanced portions of my body slammed into men as I was invisible. Breaking bones, snapping necks, I even hit a man so hard in the family jewels that he threw up for a few seconds as I was fighting then passed out. I only smiled as I didn't even have to fire a blaster shot. Just by using my hands and feet I took out the entirety of the control room. When I was done, I walked over to the Datapad. Almost done loading when the door opened. Revealing a man. He looked in to see everyone down, but myself invisible.

They moved on to somewhere else as I pulled out the datapad filled with information. I had to follow that man. Considering that he was seeing the death of others, however, he didn't rush in? I mean, wouldn't comrades come and help them if they were dying or in a lot of pain? Seeing as how I had a Photographic entry, I went through the little playby of seeing him. Looking over his features to see a blood stain on his neck. yet no wound there, as well, the slughthrower looked familiar.

I decided to leave the man alone. Looking for anything else that might be useful. Only then, the lights went off. I shook my head. Perfect. looks like I will get information another time.

As soon as he heard that the systems were down, Tyro'din scaled down the ridge before making his way towards the base, picking off the odd patrol as he went. Entering into the pitch black building he switched his log-range scope for a short-range one and flicked the setting to thermal, using it to see in the dark. Rounding the corner he fired four times, dropping four men. "What's the current plan Mikkel?" He asked over the comms as he fired at the two men that had been drawn to the area from the lack of reply from their allies. The only plan that he had at the moment was to keep moving until he found a place to make camp then make as much noise as possible, drawing as many men as possible, resulting in as much death and chaos as possible.

Reequipping his armor, Mikkel contacted [member="Tyro'din"]. "Just kill any non-primeval you see, no exceptions," he said, having just cleared a barracks. "If you find that delta from earlier or Vald, just try not to kill them." Mikkel's next target was the armory. Grabbing one of the near-dead soldiers, Mikkel 'convinced' them to tell him where the armory was, and made his way there as fast as possible. Surprisingly, the armory was lightly guarded; two soldiers at the entrance armed with pistols. Easily taking them out, Mikkel made his way inside.

There were enough blaster rifles and grenades to arm a force thrice the size of the one stationed at the base. Working his way through the aisles, Mikkel came across a lockbox tucked behind a rack of blasters. Shooting off the lock, Mikkel found two lightsabers neatly set inside cut pieces of foam. Smiling, Mikkel took the sabers and hooked them to his belt. On his way out of the armory, Mikkel pulled the pins on two incendiary explosives and tossed them into bins of grenades, and ran out as the armory exploded behind him.

Location: Order's End, Deliverance-class.
Objective: Defend the transports, eliminate the fleet.
Allies: The Primeval
Enemies: The Rebel scum

The Carnage-class frigates were doing their job. The enemy fleet was slowly being driven back although as they did pull back the ion fire ensued, two of the four frigates stopped dead in their tracks from the barrage whilst the already disabled Order's End took a few hits that weren't dampened by the shields. The enemy fighters were still a problem, however, even with mass-drivers concentrated on their main force; their ability to confuse and scramble fighter formations was a valuable asset. Already they managed to take out a large portion of Primeval fighters, many more were destroyed in the crossfire from the flak guns. A single Bastion-class gunboat was struck along its starboard wing, causing it to turn uncontrollably as it descended into the atmosphere and presumably crashed somewhere on the world below.

"Press the attack, Captain!", Anja ordered; leaning from her command chair. The Host Lord was eager to see the Rebels suffer a mighty blow when reports came the world below.

"We're receiving word that the Rebels are sabotaging the base, they plan to destroy as much as they can.", the officer spoke up.

If the Rebels destroy the base that does mean they can cover their tracks and it would be more work to setup an outpost in the system but the primary goal for controlling Helska is the construction of fuel stations and remote research outposts. Not to mention the prospects of developing winter warfare equipment. Nonetheless, the battle was now favourable for the time being.

Objective: Take Rebel Base

Due to prior engagements, the Sith Knight was late getting to the party but it didn't mean she didn't bring gifts and tricks for the rebel scum. Most of the base it seemed had been secured by the OS allies, The Primeval, but until their flag was raised and the rebels ousted, she would fight on their behalf. Moving quickly through the battle torn corridors with her troops in tow, she was amazed how efficient their allies were. Bodies of the enemy littered the halls and rooms, showing the determination and fortitude of the Primeval.

Following the sounds of blaster fire, she led her troops to what appeared to be a last stand by the rebels. Fools. They managed to back themselves into a corner leaving no chance for escape. Slaughter was the word for the day. "Snipers," she barked, "Take up positions there and there. Target their commanders first and work your way down the chain." Her sniper corps moved quickly into position and immediately began firing with deadly accuracy.

"The rest of you....take up position next to your Primeval brethren and aid them. Move now!" She looked around the area as she removed her lightsaber, The Dagobah Curse, and asked, "Whose in charge here?"

Many things had happened since Laguz had entered the air ducts, and in the darkness of those shafts, one could safely say that the girl would remain more or less oblivious of those events. Her ignorance was in no way related to the absurdly early hour or the tiredness of her writer, and as the shifter placed the last explosive, that same person quietly swore to cut down on the number of ongoing threads. Still, nothing to be done about it then, just like the Rebels in the corridors below had no way of knowing what a cruel fate would soon befall them, much less act to prevent it.

With her goal nearly accomplished, Laguz exited the base through the backdoor, pulling herself out of the ventilation shaft with strength entirely disproportional to the body xe was currently boasting. The moment xe crawled back into the snow, however, the hunter let go of xir infant form, adopting the color of xir surroundings as xe sprinted away from the base as fast as xe could.

"All agents still inside," xe huffed into xir comlink, "be advised I'm about to blow that joint to hell." With a rather graceful leap — if I do say so myself — the shifter took cover behind an outcropping of rocks, pressing xemself flush against the cold stone. Xe fished the detonator out of xir belly, giving xir allies a whole minute more before a quickly fashioned finger pressed the switch, delivering a flare of heat to the frozen world.

Mikkel got [member="Laguz Vald"]'s message just as he picked himself off the floor. "Copy that" Mikkel quickly said as he ran towards the wall. He knew what direction the exterior wall was, so he took off one of the lightsabers he'd found, an orange dual phase saber, and used it to cut holes in the walls in an effort of getting out of there as fast as possible. Reaching the exterior wall, Mikkel holstered the saber again and ran to an exit, jumping out of a window and running as fast as possible.

The fleet continued to engage.

"Your Worship, we have reinforcements inbound.", the Captain announced. Anja was carefully watching as the events unfolded and wondered who had arrived. Coming out of hyperspace was but a single ship, the 1,600 meter Aj'Rou-class Dreadnought. A testament to their power. Immediately the vessel would begun firing its volley of long-range turbolasers and ion cannons whilst charging up its hypervelocity gun.

"Any word from the ground?", she asked.

"The Rebels seemed to have destroyed the base... To make sure that we did as much damage, it seems one of our agents has enacted similar damage to survivors.", the Captain responded.

So it would seem that the Rebels didn't intend to go down without causing damage. They were venerable, the Host Lord gave them that much.

Sannika Brynn

Let me tell you about a Rebellion...
"Well... thanks..." Sannika mumbled, taking note of Verd's 'constructive' criticism. But she had to shove it to the back of her mind as soon as it was processed. They were in the middle of a battle.

Rogue Three swooped her Adril fighter about to remove herself from the immediate fire zone of the capital ships' auto-turrets. They were not really able to track the Rebel fighters very well, considering the technology being used, but so much firepower being focused at once was bound to take out some of the brave defending starfighters. The tukian gasped as one of her comrades disappeared in a flaming carcass of what was a beautiful T-65 only seconds before. People were dying. And the enemy did not seem to give a thought as to whether they were killing their own or their opponents. It was just... death.

Brynn sucked in a deep breath and carried on. She could catch up with her brain and her emotions later. "Ooooh-kay, Rogue Seven! Hang tight. I'm going to make a run--"

Then the huge ship popped out of hyperspace. Rogue Three gawked at the monstrous Aj'Rou-class vessel and exclaimed, "Look at the size of that thing!" Yeah, the Rebels were probably going to retreat. The base had been lost. Though a few CR90s had arrived at this point to reinforce the initially dominating Rebel fleet, the arrival of this new beast of a warship was likely enough to send the Rebels home.

Fancy flyin' and good fightin' make for a good day
"Haar'chak!" Verd cursed as he saw the new arrival, then started juking and jinking, noticing how he seemed to be having great luck guessing at where the next cannon shots would be, he asked. "What's the plan 3?" following patiently on her tail, knowing that the Ion cannon autoturret on the rear of his Beskaad-Class-Starfighter would be covering his shebs. He locked on to an enemy fighter, and sent a proton torpedo hurlding towards it. Noting the explosion, he continued on 3's tail. [member="Sannika Brynn"]

Admiral Brightsky grinned as the rest of the rebel fleet dropped into the Helska system, giving them sorely needed back up. They were getting pushed up against the wall and were losing badly before. Now, Brightsky believed, they would have a chance at breaking even with the Primeval at the very least. "Rebel fleet, this is command. Join the rest of the fleet and help to defend us against the Primeval. Implacable, join the other two battle cruisers and lend a hand. Medical frigates stand by to receive casualties and give assistance with the long range fire if possible. All smaller vessels, join your counterparts. Harass the enemy capital ships if possible. We need to buy time for our ground forces."

Min looked over the latest casualty reports from Helska IV and the space battle: It was not going well for the Rebel Alliance. They'd taken losses and they were facing a determined enemy. She knew deep down that a guerrilla campaign would do more harm than good to the population. The last thing that she wanted was for good men, women, and creatures to lay their lives down in an unnecessary sacrifice when the Primeval would do everything in their power to kill them all. What's more, she knew that they would kill as many as they could on the surface of Helska IV to get to the Rebels. It was a bargain that she was not willing to make. She knew what she had to do.

Min flipped her Alliance comm. "Ground forces, this is Admiral Brightsky. The Rebel fleet has arrived in orbit and is engaging the Primeval. I will not have you all sacrifice your lives on Helska IV in the name of a guerrilla campaign if it is not needed. As such, I am ordering a general evacuation order for all Rebel forces on Helska IV. Please contact the local planetary government and offer assistance for civilian planetary evacuation. Prepare to receive any civilian that wishes to join us in evacuating."

Min reached over and flipped 'General Broadcast' on the comm. "Citizens of Helska IV, this is Rebel command. The Primeval forces are quickly overtaking our defenses and we will not be able to remain here if they send re-enforcements. We have contacted the planetary government to advise them to initiate a general planetary evacuation. I am asking all of you to please pack a bag, grab any valuables that you can carry with you, and make your way to a spaceport or to a local Alliance transport and evacuate immediately. Please, do not wait. The Primeval are allied with the One Sith and they will not hesitate to kill you or your family. I wish we could do more.

If you have a ship please take as many on board as you can and get off the planet. Get to an orbital rally point. Rebel ships will escort you to an evacuation location. If you cannot get to a personal transport, we have space on our transports and will take you with us. We will take as many with us as we have space to carry. Godspeed, and May the force be with us all..."

*Destiny watched as the guerrilla fighters threw their lives away in a lost battle, they scorched and pillaged the bases they themselves constructed, and for what purpose? It was sad really, these organics had the freedom that Destiny desired, and they threw it away in a last effort to spite the Primeval. A guerrilla ambush opened fire on the droid force, their unorganized tactics damaged one of Destiny's compliment, but just as they started to fire, they ran. It wasn't out of fear, it was, as Destiny's superb hearing picked out, an order. They had been allowed to evacuate and it dawned on Destiny: these people were slaves as well. Slaves to leaders who asked them to throw their lives away for some, "greater good" that they weren't even accomplishing. These were fortunate, a leader had finally realized the uselessness and let them make attempts to survive. Had they only done this sooner how many lives would have been saved?*

Droid Soldier: "Do we pursue?"

Destiny: "No, let them flee. We have no hate for these slaves as long as they do no oppose us. If luck is with them, they will escape, and I wish for them the best."

Droid Soldier: "Affirmative." *To soldiers* "Hold positions and prepare for departure. The damaged will be repaired."

*With this the small force of the Droid Dominion repaired their damaged and began sweeping for a serviceable base of operations. The campaign to liberate the oppressed would continue, and perhaps even organics could be liberated...*
