Yay! New clothes! Alas it seemed the leather pants and jacket Elpsis had been wearing were too torn, burnt and soiled to be salvageable. It was truly a shame because she had spent plenty of credits on them. Besides, she looked good in leather. Anyhow, she gave Abaigeal a grateful nod and caught the bundle of male clothes. She quickly stripped off and slipped a pair of trousers and a shirt on, tossing her old clothes into a garbage can.
For a change, they were not interrupted by folks suddenly appearing in the alleyway and taking a peek. Blaster hidden inside her new jacket but ready to be drawn, she would wait until Abaigeal was likewise ready with putting her new attire on. Alas, a change of clothes could not erase all the scars and bruises on Elpsis' face so she still looked like she had been in one too many bar fights or a small civil war, but that could not be helped. Besides, everyone on Nal Hutta got into a fight sooner or later!
Anyhow, now to the starport. Hopefully to get their hands on some starport security uniforms and then to steal a ship. Security at the spaceport was tight and it seemed the place was under lockdown. Coppers, or rather what passed for starport security on a planet of criminals, social miscreants and slaves, were seemingly everywhere, along with security drones. A holographic reporter was giving a long, somewhat exaggerated account of our girls' criminal deeds, reminding everyone of how heinous they were. However, one got the impression that most of the people visiting the port were not particularly interested and have venting their frustrations about all the security checks delying their flights. This caused quite a clamour until a security officer got fed up and, swiftly grabbing his blaster, kneecaped a particularly loud and aggressive Twi'lek male. This had the effect of shutting people up for a while.
Needless to say it did not take long for three thugs...security officers to intercept them. "Stop right there, girls. The 'port is under lockdown. Only those authorised may pass. Show us your IDs now," one of them, a rather burly fellow, commanded. Despite the imperious tone, he was looking at both girls in a manner that suggested unvirtuous thoughts.
"Don't they look kind of like those crazy chicks? Let's just haul them to the Commander," another security thug opined. One imagined that any girl even vaguely fitting the age and description of our ladies was now at risk of being hauled off for 'questioning'. Nal Hutta police had never been concerned with legality.
Elpsis made a good show of being nervous. Well, as a matter of fact it was not just a show. "We're just normal girls, sir. There's a flight we really got to catch," she said in what would pass for a meek, submissive tone. As she entered the port, she had surreptitiously undone some of the top buttons of her shirt, showing off some nice cleavage. Nal Hutta police had never been unduly concerned with hiring virtuous fellows. She made a show out of searching for her ID. "I knew I had it a moment ago."
"Speed up, girl. Or we'll haul your pretty arse out," the security thug who seemed the boss of the patrol barked out. However, unfortunately it seemed the poor girl did not have ID on her. One of the men was already reaching for handcuffs when Elpsis spoke up.
"I'm so sorry, sirs, I must have forgotten it. But my girlfriend and I must really catch this flight. Can't we work something out?" at that the sergeant suddenly found that a few credits had appeared in his hand. Then Elpsis took a step closer, wrapping an arm around the guard's shoulder. Her free hand snaked down between his legs to enticingly fondle his groin through his pants. "We'd be very grateful if you let us through. Wouldn't we, darlin?" she spoke in a husky tone, eyeing Abaigeal with the last words and giving her a conspiratorial wink, then nodding towards the maintenance room.
