Tier 7 - Expanding The Horizon

I wish to expand the Companies into Tier 7.

I have no reason other than wanting that 7th tier because stopping at 6 is lame.

Would this 7th tier entail nerfing some of the lower tiers? If so, seems like unnecessary work, to me. I ask because tier 6 is basically a galaxy-wide brand, and what comes after that, I wonder?

• This is completely unnecessary and won't add anything constructive to the current company environment.

How is it attained?

• If this were to be implemented, probably the same way you achieve current tiers. Contracts, misc. threads, products, and projects of impressive sizes.

What are it's rewards?

• A smug sense of self satisfaction, more imaginary money and weight to throw around, and an increased private fleet size.

Tier IV to Tier V

  Sponsorship is essentially when a sufficiently large major faction decides to back your company's endeavors specifically. This can either be by them giving you a large, direct annual subsidy, signing a long-term contract, and other things that would tie the government of that faction and your company close together.
  

Tier V to Tier VI

  Sign a contract with two more major factions OR Tier V+ companies.

  Make an additional four mass-produced products.
  
• 
  Complete six miscellaneous threads.
  
• 
  Successfully complete a project of immense proportions.

For this "contract" to construct a flagship... do you mean for the Major faction to construct a flagship FOR the company, or for the major faction?

We have service companies who can possibly help a Major faction construct a flagship either by providing resources, ore, fuel, in that capacity --- but unlikely to be able to construct a flaghip by themselves.


Current tier 6's are Blastech, Silk holdings, and ATC --- Silk holdings would really be the only one able to "construct" one if we use that exact phrase.

What is your vision on what a bidding war would be on?


I can certainly imagine using the Auction Forum for such things in a bidding war, but what exactly does that entail?

For example, right now there is a thread with Levantine Sanctum where several companies are attempting to win "permits" for specific types of ship construction and maintenance -- they are more than five companies seeking four distinct permits.

Would this count?


I also can do Expo things where people did bidding wars over resources, ore, and ships --- even contracts with major factions for the building of trade stations.

Yes that would fall under as a contract.

Perhaps a merger of two large companies? I really don't know what would be much bigger than a tier VI, unless it's an umbrella corporation that literally exists to run other large companies.
