"Maybe once he's ready to handle whatever you can throw at him" Josh would answer toward Madalena when she would offer to take Jason for a few hours. He wasn't opposed to the idea, but if she intended to take him riding, he needed to be ready first. Slowly. He was three, after all. Though in the end, it was just as much for her safety as it was for his. Jason coming to harm would not bode well for the one responsible. Jason meanwhile, had his interest piqued by the animal that had come from Ra's pocket. "Raaaaa, what is that?" Jason would ask Ra as they would board The Maekrix.
Josh was still getting used to the Maekrix, personally, he realized as they stepped aboard. He held a bit of sentiment for the Final Dragon still, but… Wasn’t it like that for all the ships he had? Yet at the same time, there was a reason for everything. Josh liked his sentiments, but there was a reason he upgraded. What use was a ship if it was destroyed? He had decided for the old models of the Dragon that they'd be better off as souvenir pieces in the garage of his homestead, capable of being used in an emergency... Than being reduced to scrap floating in the middle of space. And having backups in case his current model was destroyed was always a good plan. Though he only had two now. The first had been destroyed, the second was a remake of the first, and the third was a different ship model for better performance. This new ship though, wasn’t a Final Dragon at all, seeing as the Final Dragon was still going to be in use - re-purposed for certain situations. So it still had some shelf life left. It still rested in the hanger of The Maekrix now, ready to go at anytime.
"Cloaking mode" Josh instructed to R4 as the droid would activate the cloaking device on the ship as the group sat down. The ship would take off, and begin to fly away from the city. "Activate scanners, ensure that nobody is even in the area before advancing" Josh would remind the droid, who after making their analysis, would let out a few beeps in affirmative. "Proceed."
It had taken some time for them to get to where they were going, but when the cloaked ship would slow down, they would be able to see an island up ahead. It was mainly covered in forestation, aside from the beach coming into sight. On the beach, just at the entrance to the forest was a homestead. Two storeys, made of a nice material brick and tile that looked well maintained. The house’s front steps stretched out onto the seaside, as the final step gave way to nothing but endless sand. Next door to the house was what seemed to be a smaller building, though it was more like a large shack size-wise. Behind the house appeared to be a small structure made of a reinforced glass. A greenhouse, clearly. A bit farther out from the shack was what appeared to be a home-made cabana of sorts, with a wood and straw roof overlooking a series of cushions, pillows and lounge chairs. Around the property was a fence that made it clear where the property started and ended. The fencing appeared to be well fortified and they might even notice some enacted defenses. Josh did like tinkering with AI after all.
As they flew over the forest behind the homestead, they would stop as the ground below them began to move to make way for the ship to enter. As the ship would touch down, they would find themselves in an underground hanger bay. "Great job, R4. Tell the droids they've got some time to recharge before we set off. Give or take an hour to a few hours depending on how much time the ladies can spare" He instructed as he would step out of the ship, motioning for them to follow. Jason had gained a very easily noticeable pep to his step compared to before, while he walked hand in hand with his father. They would reach an elevator, and Josh would hit the button to bring them up. They would arrive back in the forest, just behind the greenhouse. Josh would lead the group out past it and back to the beach. Shooting the ladies a grin, he would walk through the sands until they reached the deck. Walking up the steps, he would place a hand on the door, which seemed to recognize his identity and allowed him to open it.
They would walk into what seemed to be a living room. There were a few photographs on the wall, primarily of Josh and Jason together with Jason being at different ages. A medium-sized red rug was spread over a wooden floor as the room contained simple pleasures, an armchair, a couch, a table and a Holo TV. There were books spread around the table, mainly droid building manuals and some coloring books. A bird's perch hung just next to the armchair. Barely separated from the living room by a half-wall, was a small kitchen.
"Well..." Josh spoke softly as he turned to shoot the girls a grin. The two people that he trusted more than anyone, enough to reveal to them his biggest secret - and his most hidden treasure. "This is home."
