To Whom it May Concern (Invasion of Ord Mantel)

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
The Junior Senator of Nar Shaddaa, Popo the Hutt, sat patiently in the shuttle that took him to the surface of Ord Mantel.

Recently, two major powers had vied for this planet: the Republic, whom Popo represented, and the Mandalorians. Both had rightful claims to the planet, but in this day and age, tensions ran high. Beset without and within, the Republic could not afford another war. It could not afford more bloodshed.

And so Popo had been sent with other dignitaries of the Republic to Ord Mantel to solve the situation diplomatically and to disarm the tensions running high. The Hutt lead the expedition and saw this as a test. Would he succeed and prevent a bloody, wasteful conflict? Or would he cause the very thing he sought to prevent?

He could not know now, but only time could tell for certain. For now, he simlly waited patiently for landing coordinates on the planet's surface. He knew the Mandalorians would not fire in the shuttle. The craft gave clear diplomatic transponder codes and they would not start a war by firing he first shot. The Mandos were ruthless and cunning, but they weren't stupid.

For now, Popo had to wait and hope that everything would end without bloodshed...

Gilamar Skirata

The most important step is always the next one
Republic soldiers skittered around the camp like dirty vhe'viin, chattering on their coms and checking their weapons, shooting the breeze. They acted as if this place was already theirs. The old man scowled beneath his helmet. By contrast the Mandalorians were silent, their darkened T-visors holding ambiguity that many mistook for murderous intent. A couple of troopers bumped into a Mandalorian, it erupted into a slew of insults; Plastic Boy, Bucket Head, the works. Lifting himself from over the holomap in his own, open tent the Mandalorians stopped, moved from the conflict.

A shuttle had entered the atmosphere and was on its way to the neutral camp. He didn't have much else to say other than to get the Hell of their planet.

"Kriffing Republic." Adenn shook his head while sitting on a crate, He was near [member="Gilamar Skirata"], not next to him though, he didn't really need to talk to him, he wasn't really even needed here, unless things got nasty "This better not end in blaster fire, that'd be bad for both ends..." Adenn sighed then stood up to stretch, before looking towards Gilamar, he couldn't see him well but he was still there 'Let's hope this ends well.'

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
Popo waited for the shuttle to land as he went over how the meeting was supposed to go. Hopefully, things would end well.

The shuttle settled and the pilot gave the all clear to disembark. The massive Shell Hutt nodded once and slithered to the ramp. He was the first one down, not out of pride or status, but to show that this Hutt, at least, didn't rely on others for his work.

Popo wore his armor, the beskar monstrosity he'd created after winning a bid on the Mandalorian iron a while ago. The armor's weapons only featured on of the two wrist mounted blasters and nothing else, though this was less as a show of force and more that he couldn't get the bolts out. He'd taken the power pack out, though, just in case.

Once at the base of the ramp, he waited for the rest of the Republic dignitaries to follow suit, and then headed towards what he assumed was the meeting area.

LOCATION: Ord Mantell corner of some camp.
ALLIES: All Mandalorians
ENEMIES: none.
Aedan Miles sat with the soldiers of the Red Legion around him all of them in a dark mood but none as dark as the General of the Red Legion. The young man sat in plain view of Republic soldiers taking his lightsabers apart and laying them out before him before he closed his eyes and started to reassemble the weapons with the force. Around him his troops cleaned their weapons while all but ignoring the Republic troops mere meters away at times. Their thoughts lay on one thing and that was where this so called diplomatic solution would take them and if it would remain a diplomatic solution. For now they all wore their armor and most even had their helmets on Aedan however let it be known that he was there his violet eyes gleaming and flashing as he finished putting the 3 weapons he carried with him everywhere together returning them to their places on his body he stood and looked around almost absently.

Mandalorian assets had been arriving in-system for days now. Ord Mantell had been swayed into the arms of the United Clans of Mandalore. Or so he had been told. Now there were Republic soldiers and diplomats arriving to contest their claim for the planet and tensions were rising.

To ensure the safety of the planet and to protect the innocent civilians from the tyranny of the Republic's Imperial expansion, Clan Dem'adas had sent a blockade fleet to prevent any additional Republic forces from landing on the planet. They also sent Captain Rygel Larraq to assist in the negotiations and to oversee the blockade of the planet.

Rygel Larraq sat aboard a Skira-class Battleship and observed the conditions on the ground via hologram. So far, both sides had remained passive but vigil. It would only be a mater of time before that changed though. The Republic was firmly in the pocket of the Jedi. The hypocritical peacekeepers were the biggest warmongers in the galaxy, second only to the Sith.

Sparking a flame between his cupped hands, Larraq lit a cigarette and watched the show unfold on the planet as he baby-sat the Dem'adas Navy Fleet that orbited the planet.

Damn Republic. Walking around like they own the karking place. The thing is they don't, and they won't. Ord Mantell is ours, no matter what they say. Even if we decide to give it up (in exchange for something we want more), it'll still be ours. That's for sure. "Ey plastic boy, get away from there!" I snapped, shooing an overly-curious trooper away from a crate of supplies. Unsurprisingly he shot back a few insults before scuttling away. Di'kut. The sooner these utreekovs get off of this planet the better. No way in hell we're gonna give it up. At least not without one hell of a fight. We both know who would win that one. And it ain't the plastic boys, or their bathrobe brigade.

Location: Red Legion Encampment
Allies: Mandalorains
...Garrus had arrived at the Red Legion encampment as an emissary for his Brother, Field Marshal Strider Garon, informing them that he was there to inspect the troops. Actually Garrus could care less about inspections, he'd arrived just incase there was a battle on Ord Mantell intent on crushing skulls and claiming women, though he did tour the camp and make conversation with the members of the Red Legion were convenient. He'd been quick to find a drink as well and was now taking pulls out of a flask that contained a special brew laden with the pungent aroma of hard liquor...

...despite his misgivings Garrus seemed very much aware of his surroundings. He wore Mandalorian Armor, his helm included which he was wearing now, and carried his Beskad strapped over his back as well as a Blaster Rifle which was shouldered to carry the burden of the load while allowing his hands to remain free. Obviously he had grenades too. As with all incarnations of Garrus armor he also wore an Energy Shield over his hip, attached to the armor, that was fed from a seperate power pack also located on his back which could feed ther shield well beyond the normal allotment of time. Hours instead of minutes. The Warrior toured the camp in such dressings, he'd likely be recognized as the Brother of Strider Garon due to the Clan Garon insignia on his armor....

....pressing through a small crowd of men he'd eventually come upon Aedan, reassembling his lightsabers with the force, and tilting his head to the side he'd chuckle...
"Do you command the Red Legion?"...he asked rather nonchalantly before pressing his helmet back and up so that it would come to rest over his bald head and he could raise the flask he'd been carrying to his mouth. Ahhhhh, good. Drinking on the job? That's right. Once he'd taken another he'd have smiled though..."Your men look ready."...it was a mild compliment from the mature warrior which he kept straightforward and without much pomp...
[member="Aedan Miles"]

Aedan Miles looked up as a man approached he stood and grinned giving a nod of his head. "Aye I am Aedan Miles and I do indeed lead this legion. Yea we are ready and also about to get to some drinking while we await farther orders." As he spoke he gestured to the left and with the force moved three crates into the center near him and opened them smirking as the men and women he lead gave a cheer and each one mover forward to grab some of the ale Aedan had acquired for them. Moving forward he looked around at his men as they started to drink and laugh clearly uncaring of the Republic forces nearby.

Taking one of the ales from a crate Aedan opened it and took a deep drink of it letting his violet eyes gleam. He had only been leading the Legion for a short time considering the other things he had done but he already felt comfortable around them all. Holding his bottle of ale up he turned to [member="Garrus Garon"] and gestured for him to follow him to the command tent Aedan had set up nearby. "Is there anything I can do for you sir?" As they neared the tent it would become clear what kind of general Aedan was inside the tent were a series of tables two of them held different maps with areas marked on them and another held a list of the forces Aedan had at his use and the forces he knew the Republic to have on planet. It would appear that the young man as ready for anything even if it was the order to attack but that would remain to be seen.

Mia stepped up next to [member="Gilamar Skirata"]. <Blaster fire is the least of their concerns.> she said softly in response to [member="Adenn Gra'tua"]. A hushed report told her that [member="Captain Larraq"] had moved the ships into position to blockade the planet. Every Republic officer on this planet was now, effectively trapped. Mia had gone beyond the point of no return, what ever mercy she might have had left, whatever honour she might have offered to the republic was near enough gone. The war had started, they no longer had the patience for diplomacy.

The mandalorians on hand were silent behind there 'T' visors because they had been given instructions to be so. Mia ran her eyes over them and sent a click over the comms when the Republic's representative came into view. The click was to tell them to be ready. Their objective was to neutralize the republic troopers, and seize those who were smart enough to surrender as prisoners of war. <Mand'alor.> she said softly to Gilamar, her visor swinging slightly his way <Do we do collars in hutt sizes?>

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
Popo made his way to the group of Mandalorians he was here to meet. He stopped before them and nodded gracefully to the Mand'alor and his officers. Hutts really couldn't bow, but he hoped the nod was enough.

"Greetings," the Hutt said politely. "I am Popo, Junior Senator of Nar Shaddaa. I also own the Wheel in your space. I've come here, in peace, to negotiate the secession of Ord Mantell and the withdrawal of all Republic personnel and equipment from the planet. I'd like to get this organized as soon as possible so that this situation is resolved as soon as possible."

The assain had a clear view of the Hutt with his sniper, this would be his first official mission with his fellow brethren. The extremely Physically Fit assain spoke into his comm " I have my sights on the head republic security officer, and senator , permission to fire my Mand'alore? " . Hopefully an awnser would be given to the Fett,a few minutes have already passed, and he is rather trigger happy today.

"Wait," Adenn turned to [member="Mia Monroe"], realizing that he must've zoned out "Oh, yea, right." He shook his head then walked a little bit closer to Gilamar, not too close though, [member="Popo"] was already there and he didn't want to spook anyone 'This is why I don't get myself involved with politics,' he rolled his shoulders 'Too much talking, shooting is better... And getting paid to shoot is even better.' he chuckled to himself, only shaking to any outsiders, he had made it so his helmets speakers weren't on "Then there is having fun while doing both."

The Smuggler Listeri Dalane's head popped out of a tent, as he gazed at the Hutt Senator,[member="Popo"] , who was discussing with the Mandalorians. O' , how he hated the Republic and Mandalorians now. Ord Mantell was his homeworld, and to see them nearly start a war that will kill billions of Mantellians, devastate his homeworld and leave it as ash and dust. He did approve of the Republic a little bit more, seeing how they were withdrawing from the planet, but he knew war would be coming, and his homeworld and his people would be devastated.

Vala Melina

Also walking out of the shuttle was a skinny robed girl. She fell in line behind the dignitaries as [member="Popo"] the Hutt made his way to meet the Mandalorian's leader, [member="Gilamar Skirata"]. Her face was hidden under the shadow of her hood as she looked around. Vala Melina didn't need Force Senses to know that every eye behind their T-slit visors were on them and they undoubtedly had rifles and snipers trained on them. Vala wasn't here to be a diplomat, she was here for protection, more or less. Many thought she was too young and inexperienced for this kind of mission, especially with Mandalorians involved and not even having a lightsaber, but she was born on Ord Mantell and knew the planet well. While she wasn't raised by her parents, may Mother rest in peace, when the Jedi took her in she was trained on here for a few years before moved to another Enclave. She practically begged to go. She needed to see her mother one last time before the Mandalorians officially took over the planet and never be able to visit again, not on pleasant terms anyway.

The Jedi Padawan stood behind the Hutt and watched as he tried to negotiate with them. Her blue eyes wondered over the landscape in vague nostalgia. This was her home at one point. Her home was with the Jedi now but this will always be her home planet. While she hoped that there would be no violence, she was prepared to defend the Republic and even die on the same soil as her mother did.

(Yup, ally. :) )

Listeri saw the lone padawan , standing there, as her head slightly turned as she took in the landscape. Hmm. Mantellian, or nature lover? He thought to himself, as he slowly walked over. " Hey! Listeri Dalane, Republic. Beautiful planet, aint it? Sad to see this place go to the Mando's , of all people. " He told the girl with a hint of anger in his voice, as he looked upon Senator Popo negotiating. Listeri decided to look over the landscape around him, and for the first time ever since he landed here on this mission, he realized that the landscape around them was breathtaking.

Serenity

Serenity was in each member of the republics possession, connected to them with their personal gadgets, She didn't like this at all. That was why she had her own plans.
" Agent [member="RC-1025"] Agent [member="Listeri Dalane"] are you in position, I want to make sure if things go bad we get Popo out. I hope your watching this like I am, prepare for an ambush, scan the area. We need to secure the safety of our dignitary. "

Serenity began attempting to hack into the mando communications, she wanted to know what was going on. She began probing frequencies and codes. She wanted to make sure they weren't on the bad side of this. Mean while the Liberator hid orbit. Hopefully they wouldn't need it.

...Garrus looked as Aedan used the force to move three crates filled with ale, the Warrior was force sensitive however he had never sought to train himself in the ways of the force considering to much reliance on them to be a crutch, and he’d have chuckled hearing the cheers from the men of the Red Legion who moved forward to claim a bottle for themselves. Despite his own high tolerance for liquor, Garrus never went a day without it, he wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about these men drinking seeing as how an intoxicated soldier made for someone who was less efficient at his work... ”Just make sure they stay ready.” ...he’d have have reminded Aedan before taking a pull from the flask he held and following the man as he lead him towards the command tent...
...when they entered the tent the first thing Garrus would have said was... ”Don’t call me sir.” ...he wasn’t an officer, he wasn’t even a Rally Master, which meant that Aedan would have technically outranked him the grand scheme of things however Garrus was a Warrior, a veteran of numerous engagements, and the only one he took orders from was his Brother. Even then they were more like suggestions the majority of the time. Gazing around the command tent Garrus would have noticed the tables, one with maps and the other with lists detailing the various troops here, and he would have moved closer to them so that he could survey a map of the area. Looking back at Aedan afterwards he’d have said... ”Everything seems to be in order here. You’ve a good head on your shoulders according to these maps. It doesn’t seem there will be much fighting here but that might change.” ...he’d learned that things had a way of going south fast which meant that Garrus was quite often mindful that talking could easily turn to something more...
...ironically it would be a tad regrettable if Garrus had come all this way and matters were handled with simple negotiations however he understood that not everything ended in battle. In fact one could argue the greatest exchanges of power had been conducted with words instead of weapons; something he kept in mind anyways. The Republic would be wise to cede control of Ord Mantel to the Mandalorians however stranger things had happened in the past. “You’re a Jedi then.”...the obvious assumption after having witnessed Aedan reassembling his lightsabers with the force... ”How is that?” ...

As the delegations on the ground began their work, Rygel Larraq began his own. With cursory glances at the holoprojector from time to time, Larraq began dealing cards to the three junior officers that had pulled up seats and a table next to the command chair. Larraq hated blockade details. And if the Republic was already tucking tail, then it would be a particularly boring assignment. From what he could tell, the Republic's only real presence on the planet was for the sake of saving face as they protected their backside from Mandalorian blasters.

Finished dealing, Larraq pulled the cigarette from his lips and picked up his cards. He stared into the eyes of each of the men seated across from him in turn... Then Larraq smiled and took a drag from his cigarette. In a few minutes, he'd be making a few more credits than he had planned to today.
