To Whom it May Concern (Invasion of Ord Mantel)

Aedan chuckles to himself as he nods his head. "It would seem that you are correct but you never know when the winds of change will show their faces. My men will be ready each of the squads has memorized where their section of defense is on this map. Those crates were merely to give the Republic troops watching us the image that we aren't worried and are already celebrating. None of the men plan on drinking to much they are all to stressed." Aedan walked to the table and looked over it sighing as he set his helmet on the table as he glanced at [member="Garrus Garon"] and blinked. "If you are asking about the force no I am not a Jedi. Nor am I a Sith both of their views are to narrow minded for me. They both seek the same thing through different means that doesn't sit well with me. The Jedi seek to end all conflict through peace. While the sith seek to end all conflict by controlling the galaxy. I merely use the abilities that I have at my disposal to bring an end to conflict I don't see to control it all hell I am a soldier controlling things past other soldiers isn't something I look forward to. I am surprised that the men of the Red Legion follow me so willingly I am not the most competent General. Hell I am barely 25 years old. But that doesn't mean I am going to stand by and do nothing." Aedan shrugged absently as he took a sip from the ale in his hand before he shock his head and set it aside.

RC-1025

Clone Out of Time
Location: Ord Mantell, Somewhere Up High and In Cover
Objective: Guardian Angel
Allies: Republic, [member="Serenity"] , [member="Listeri Dalane"]

"Serenity, this is RC-1025. I'm in position, over," he said over the secure comm. The Clone Commando looked through scope of his DC-17m in sniper setting at the scene below him. He was hidden in the shade with rocks and leaves on top of him. Mud was smeared on his armor to help reduce the chance of being seen. Man there are a lot of Mandos, he thought. They certainly came here in force. So many T-slit visors, similar to his own. It all seemed familiar to him...

But he didn't have time to focus on that. He had people to protect. His mission was to ensure the Republic got out safe and doing so required vigilance. He scanned the area around the camp then toward the buildings, looking for any enemy snipers that may try to pick them off.

He felt a buzz in his ear, as the clear voice of [member=Serenity] flowed forth. " Hold on sec. " He told the padawan, as he walked a couple of steps away. " In position, ready when you are. " He told the voice, as he walked back over to the padawan.

Vala was surprised that someone has bothered to talk to her. She smiled as he introduced himself as [member="Listeri Dalane"] and marveled how beautiful it was. Before she could reply though he disappeared for a moment. She watched him as he was most likely talking to someone on a comm before returning. "Yes, it's just as beautiful as I remember it," she said, "Vala Melina. Are you here with the Republic?"

Listeri smiled when she said remember it , as he began thinking he met a fellow Mantellian. " Listeri Dalane, and uh, yeah, I'm here with the 'Pubs. " He told the padawan cheerfully, as he glanced at the senators. " Remember it? So I take it your Mantellian? " He asked politely, which was surprising, knowing the rowdy smugglers history.

Place: Republic-Mando Meeting.

Yusan sat down next to [member="Popo"], his eyes staring at the table but not at the Mandalorians that remained across from them. Around him were faces like [member="Aedan Miles"], [member="Mia Monroe"], [member="Gilamar Skirata"], [member="Garrus Garon"] and so on, more Mandos than Republicans right now and hopefully things will keep civil. "Well, certainly a pleasure to see you again Popo, hows things been for you." He still avoided speaking to the people that now sat across from them and could plunge the world into fire on a moment's notice, hopefully though they wont. He wore no armor, only his robes and cloak were kept on him as he walked, his face open to their sight as it remained scared by the burns that had almost claimed his life, his walk showed the limp that he still possessed from the attack on the Senate building, and a cane in his hand that was nothing more than a machine now. Hidden behind him in the small of his back was his saberstaff he never parted with and now he waited for them to speak or not to speak.

Vala nodded in acknowledgement. "Yes," she said, "I was actually born on a farm not far from here. I was hoping to visit one last time before they take over. Maybe even visit my mother."

Vala remembered where the farm was but that was not where her mother was laid to rest. Hopefully if things went peacefully she van see her one last time.

The Mandalorian Sniper scanned the area with his scope looking for abnormal features, one was something the guerilla fighter knew to well: Camouflage. While Ragnar could not spot exactly where the location of his hidden foe was, something was not right in his foes Vicinity. There was a possibility an ally could be hiding there but there was no confirmation. The Assain spoke into his comm " [member="Aedan Miles"] , Commander Aedan , do you have any men set up in the over brush regarding that vicinity? " . The nervous zabrack awaited orders from the following chain of command.

(OCC: Is this ok that I spot where you are in your general vicinity ? I know it is a little bit of meta gamming, therefore
I am asking you if this is ok)

She sighed. Was that who she thought it was. Oh no. This was already a Charlie foxtrot. Sometimes she even wondered why they bothered.

"Command. This is Escort One. Come in, over."

~ "This is Miller. What's up ma'am." ~

"Ex'nay on our flight plan soldier. Gonna have to go to ground on that Plan Beta. Tag me a terrestrial. Gonna need a ziggy here. And make it dirty."

~ "Understood. Tagging you a terrestrial beta. Map data incoming. Nav points locked and ready for send." ~

"Send. Much appreciated Command. Escort out."

She shrugged as her wrist com updated itself. Happy with the change. Everybody else around here was grunts and green and getting trigger happy. Ugh. What a terrible meeting. She remained standing perfectly still near the shuttle. Musing as she was, but perfectly happy to remain calm and contented. Today was for talking. Not for shooting. And that sat just fine with her.

Should have brought a lawn chair.

Location: Red Legion Command Tent
Allies: Mandalorians
...well Garrus learned something new today, namely that the General of the Red Legion was mere twenty-five years old, however he didn't let it show beyond a small curve settling against the corners of his mouth. Other than this minor, totally inconsequential, reaction the Warrior would have listened to Aedan telling him that he was neither Jedi nor Sith but rather a practitioner that Garrus likened to being somewhere in between the the two ideologies. No matter though because Garrus and Aedan were both on the same side. "Interesting."...came the response while Garrus turned his attention towards the maps once again, he was overlooking the different troop movements and displacements, the Republic could muster quite the army but their regular troops were vastly outclassed by the Mandalorians in Garrus opinion. Once he finished reading the map Garrus would have looked away from it again...

...he removed his helmet completely with his left hand and set it down over one of the tables then he would reach up and run his hand back over his clean shaven head. When he came back behind it he'd flex his fingers and scratch slowly.
"What kind of numbers can the Red Legion field?"...he'd have asked Aedan, curious about the answer, before adding..."How many are fielded here today?"...he had to doubt the entire Red Legion was here on Ord Mantel however he had been surprised in the past and proven mistaken. Until now Garrus hadn't given Aedan'c comment about not knowing when the men followed him so willingly but he would mention..."Soldiers follow men who act with courage and don't sacrifice their lives."...only his point of view. Lifting the flask he'd been holding Garrus would place it to his mouth and take a slow drin, tipping the container higher the deeper he drank, then he would lower it again and exhale once...

...they were enjoying a drink, making small talk, and Garrus seemed to be relatively at ease. Looks could be deceiving though. He'd look around the command tent once again but didn't say anything. Words could sometimes be wasted. The Warrior wondered how the negotiations with the Republic were proceeding, he wasn't entirely sure how much he trusted their intentions to talk...
[member="Aedan Miles"]

Aedan leaned against the table as he thought carefully and calmly before he glanced at Garrus and gestured around calmly. "The Legion can field upwards of 5000 soldiers. Here today is my personal battalion aroun 2850 soldiers I have three commanders each commanding 1000 men elsewhere doing standard patrols." Aedan looked over the map as he thought about what Garrus had said. He glances back towards his men and shakes his head as he chuckles again. "My soldiers are the closest thing I have to a family. I believe that the Resol'nare states you are to defend yourself and your family. That means that my top priority on a battlefield is minimizing the amount of troops I loose." He laughs as he sees his men laughing together and milling about the crates of ale. He also took notice of the way the Republic Troopers were stationed. As he talked with Garrus his com link suddenly went off causing him to snatch his helmet from the table only to pull the portable com link in it off for a moment as he fixed it to his ear listening to [member="Ragnar Fett "]he shock his head and sighed. "No all Red Legion personal are accounted for at our section of the camp. If you want I can dispatch a squad that way unless it is on the Pubbie side of the line than my hands are tied."

His eyes narrowed as he went to the table of maps and pulled one that showed the area surrounding the negotiation site and started to look it over pointing to a building he muttered out loud. "If I was our sniper that is where I would be good vantage point and a lot of routes to get out of there." Looking the map over he pulled out a pencil and started to mark different areas as possible locations for other snipers his eyes narrowing as he looks over the map. His brow furrowed there were to many possibilities at the moment the republic could have any number of snipers stationed out there watching the meeting. Looking in the direction of the tent the young man narrowed his eyes and mumbled lightly. "I don't like this..."

Listening to the commander of this mandalorian division Raganr spoke, " Then Im afraid my sniper position may be compromised sir, it seems we have an enemy there on our side of the line " . The Mandalorian Assain was now nervous, in order to survive he would have to only fire shoots when ordered or necessary. Ragnar's Athletic body began to become tense, he was at the highest tower in the area. While this gave him an advantage, it had also made him a huge target to others who now could tag team his position. If there were more snipers out there, the muscular lean Zabrack would have a problem on his hand. His scope had aimed at the Vicinity looking for any movements in the area., it would look like a cat and mouse game would be played between the two.

RC-1025 didn't see any obvious signs of a hidden sniper but that didn't mean much. Mandalorians were professional soldiers, experts in their craft. He wouldn't be surprised if one of them was drawing a bead on him now. He could see from his perch as a purple haired man ([member="Aedan Miles"]) began pointing out at different areas as he looked at a map. It didn't take a genius to figure out they were planning something. Hell, they were probably looking for him. If he was smart enough to know they posted snipers in the area, it wasn't a long shot the Mandos would come to the same conclusion. The Commando wouldn't dare think of moving though, especially now. Doing so would only give him away.

You're too much of a professional to do that! Sit there and you are only an estimate. Move and you are a certainty.

Yet again the important female voice sounded in his head. Except it was no longer disembodied. This time his memories brought a face, or more like a helmet. A blue T-slit helmet of a Mandalorian. Now was not the time for memories. Now is the time to focus on the Republic's safety.

Gilamar Skirata

The most important step is always the next one
Placing a firm hand on his helmet and running his fingers down its rough surface he grunted before slipping it over his head. Clicking the maglocks into place at four points he rolled his neck and shurgged. <I don't think so...If we do, they aren't here.> As the slimy slug-like creature known as Popo The Hutt slithered into the tent he wrinkled his nose at the smell. He didn't know what it was about Hutts, but they always made him uncomfortable and they always had the same smell to him. Nothing about them sat right with him, in fact, he hated doing business with the seedy buggers, but he was being forced to in this case.

Though at first he didn't realize it was a Hutt. The metallic exoskeleton threw him off quite a bit. <Is that Beskar...?> the old man whispered into the private Field Marshal and Ori'ramikad com channel. "Is that Beskar?" he repeated in basic to the Hutt, ignoring the pleasantries that came with diplomatic meetings. He knew whom Popo was, and he was quite sure Popo knew exactly who Gilamar was, so he didn't see the need for such introductions. Waving his hand as if to brush away the question , he leaned forwards on the table, supporting himself with both hands. "Any, yes I would like to get you lot off of our planet as soon as possible, why don't you just...take your troops and go? Deal? It sounds like a mighty fine deal to me."

He nodded approvingly, as he gazed at the landscape. " I'm from nearby the old fort. Sadly, it ain't their anymore. " He said sadly, as he referred to the ruins of an old fort, from the days of the Old Republic. He took a couple of steps, and pressed into his microphone." What the feth are you doing up there? " He asked [member="RC-1025"] , as he looked up at the Mandalorian camp.

Adenn stared at the Hutt for a moment before turning away, looking at his surroundings 'A tent... Nevermind.' He took a step back and looked at himself, gauging wether or not he was ready for any kind of battle, if one were to happen 'Er, that will come later... If I'm ready I'm ready.' Adenn looked back to Gilamar and listened to the conversation he was having with the Hutt, it would pass time "Any, yes I would like to get you lot off of our planet as soon as possible, why don't you just...take your troops and go? Deal? It sounds like a mighty fine deal to me." A chuckle escaped Adenn's lips "That was quick." he said quietly "At last he got it out now... Instead of later."

RC-1025 heard the voice of his fellow operative over the comm. "Nothing but observing at the moment," he replied over the private com channel, "They seem to come to the conclusion that there are snipers in the area. They may have an idea of where I am but haven't made any moves yet."

It was a good thing no sound can come out of his helmet unless he put it on speaker. He kept his attention focused on Purple Hair. He seemed to be important, some sort of leader, and the only one who seemed to visibly care about the presence of enemy snipers. Watching him could lead to the path the Commando's life might take. Hopefully the one with no gunfire.

Serenity hailed [member="Ben Trasker"] " Are you in position? " She asked as she watched the whole interaction with much interest. She didn't like how vulnerable they were. The damn mandos could do just about anything at this point. That was the problem. She used the Xr-17 Liberator as her headquarters which was hidden somewhere in orbit. It was the mobile headquarters for the G.I.A and her location so to speak technically. That was when she began to make headway into the mando com's as she began to hear bits and pieces but nothing substantial, she had almost cracked them.

Tarian sat silently behind the dignitaries. Scanning the Republic party, he noted each. The Hutt, bit surprising. Hooded figure, probably Jedi. In his mind, he flagged [member="Vala Melina"] as a threat. The pilot, possible, but unlikely. And then he noticed [member="Karen Roberts"]. Full armor. Heavily armed. Only one word came to mind as his eyes moved on.
Vornskr.

This would not be good if a fight broke out.

Location: Red Legion Encampment (Command Tent)
Allies: Mandalorians

...Aedan had narrowed his eyes and moved to examine the maps that covered one of the tables in the command tent causing Garrus to follow his movements and take a look as well while listening to what the man had to say. When Aedan mentioned the location he would be if he was a sniper before beginning to circle areas that were possible locations for other snipers Garrus would take a keen interest before raising his flask to his mouth and having another drink. He'd comment shortly thereafter..."Slow down."...while lowering the flask again, it came away from his mouth as the Warrior exhaled a breath of the aromatic liquor, before adding..."Of course the republic has snipers positioned all around the area same as we do they'd be stupid not to. You prepare for war but hope for peace remember."...it was an old motto that Garrus had heard once which meant it was better to be ready for conflict rather than not...

...now that he'd taken his fill from the flask he'd been drinking from Garrus would set it down on one of the tables before retrieving his helm which he'd raise over his head before setting it down and securing it with the rest of his armor. With the helm in place Garrus breathing, his voice, would become ever so much more mechanical than it had been however he remained the same man underneath it all. Leaning over the table he'd have pointed out several key areas to Aedan...
"There on the hill and in the tall grass."...it all came down to wherever cover was the best and mobility wouldn't be sacrificed if the location was compromised. Either way Garrus wasn't particularly interested in mapping out sniper positions which is why he would turn his attention to the lists detailing the Red Legion numbers here at the encampment. Impressive really. Garrus remained silent after he started reviewing the troop rosters...

...
"If the idea that snipers are watching us bothers you I'd suggest a perimeter sweep."...was how he broke his eventual silence. According the the troop manifest the Red Legion had several recon teams here which meant that Aedan was within his rights to send them out on patrols that would ensure the area was secure. Likely any patrols would be able to force snipers hidden nearby to relocate or engage if that was the republic prerogative. Of course this was all based on the idea that a Recon Team would be able to spot the snipers; Garrus was less concerned with the idea either way. He didn't intend to die on the other end of a sniper's barrel...
