Training Day

Kafh ignored Kahlil's comment figuring it'd be better to just focus. He continued to trust in the Force, letting it guide him to each blaster bolt. Of course he hadn't counted on Kahlil's next comment. While he moved into another block, his Mentor caught him off guard. Saying that Thiavi was a Mandolorian through and through, that their culture was based around family, honor, and skill. That if Kafh were to get good enough at this, he might get closer to her. The Ex-Slave took the bait. Tilting his head to Kahlil's voice. Forgetting about the Droid. He would give that same dumb smile again. "Wait rea-." He was cut off by another shot to zone 4 straight into his chest. Kafh groaned stumbling back a bit but ultimately remaining on his feet. "Should have known." He said with the hint of a smile. He quickly shook off the thoughts that flooded into his mind, turning back to the Force and letting it guide him. He got into the ready position and began falling back into rythm, letting the Force and his reflexes guide him.

He would let a smirk show on his face for a split second before going back to focus. 'Gods... he really knows how to get to me.'

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"].

He laughed as [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] took the shot. The most it did was sting, but Kahlil couldn't help but laugh at Kafh's reaction. Was he actually interested in their Mandalorian companion? They had found their freedom together. Could that be something more? As fun as it was to tease him about it, if they were interested it was important for the budding Jedi to know the limits.

The rules. Love could be a duel edged sword, making him better. Or, dragging him into the dark.

"There's nothin wrong with liking someone y'know. Just, be careful not to let your emotions get the better of you. Balancing that sorta thing with your duty as a Jedi is.. Hard." Of course, he was having this conversation with Kafh to both confuse him and push his concentration, but he was serious. "Course, that's only if you actually like her. She is pretty cute under all that armor, huh?"

If he lost focus during a battle he'd be dead. Especially if he let worries get to him, make him lose focus. Kafh continued to follow through with his blocks as before angling them, like he would in a live combat situation. Never too much. Just enough, the Force provided. The Force guided. Kafh heard Kahlil speak up again, this time he was careful, not to break his focus. He listened and continued to block the blaster bolts. He had no clue what his feelings were towards Thiavi, but as he said his emotions couldn't get the better of him. That would lead him down a dark path.

Kahlil then continued commenting that she was cute under her armor. That almost drew his attention, "I-" he stopped. Taking a breath and calming himself. 'fool me once...' he thought to himself. He shook his head and fell back into the routine.

Kahlil was definitely trying to throw him off. He wasn't going to let it happen again. He couldn't. He had to focus on the Force. Trust in it. Let it guide him.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

Well, that was all Kahlil had at the moment to try and distract [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] . He chuckled as he leaned back, getting comfortable as he oversaw the padawans routine. He did great, especially since this was his first time. After about an hour Kahlil would shut off the droid and nod once towards the padawan's direction. "That'll be enough for today. You're provin to be quite the swordsman. It's only been a couple weeks since you started using the Force and you've already built such a trust. It'll serve you well to keep this up. Who knows, maybe in a couple weeks you'll already be ready for the more advanced stuff."

Kafh continued the drills for about an hour before Kahlil shut the Droid off. Kafh-en-ma-nofre deactivated the practice saber and removed the blindfold. He brought the practice saber back to the wall and put it on the rack. Turning to Kahlil as the man spoke.

"That's...that's great praise coming from you. Thank you." Kafh said with a slight bow. He could feel the sweat dripping down his body, his time in the training room was definitely the most he's worked in a while. The young man ran a hand through his hair and mad his way to Kahlil. Giving his Mentor a bright smile.

"Big brother. I was reading some texts earlier. I was wondering what the Jedi Code was. Would you be willing to explain it to me?" Kafh asked.

If he was going to put his faith in the Force he might as well learn more about who he was striving to be.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Ah, jeeze. I never did tell you the code, huh." Kahlil shook his head, glancing off semi embarrassed with himself. He was teaching not only [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] how to be a Jedi but Amaryllis, and he hadn't even told them the basis of it all. Well, better late then never. "It's at simple code at least. There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is The Force." Simple, sure. He leaned back in his seat, glancing to the padawan curiously.

"What do you think it means?"

Kafh smiled. Noticing Kahlil glanced away for a second. "It's okay Kahlil. You're a great Mentor." Kafh simply said. He listened to Kahlil speak, he said the Jedi code was fairly simple. There is no emotion. Only Peace, There is no ignorance, only knowledge. There is no passion, only serenity. There is no chaos, only harmony. There is no death, only the Force.

Kahlil asked his student what he thought the code meant. Kafh stood silent for a minute, closing his eyes and talking a breath. He glanced to the floor. Then to Kahlil, holding the taller man's gaze.

"There is no emotion, only peace.There is no ignorance, only knowledge, there is no passion, only serenity. There is no chaos, only harmony, there is no death, only the Force." Kafh repeated.

"Through the Jedi path all of these worldy obstacles are meaningless. It can be overcome through the Force. Emotions hold us back, take us farther from the Force and it's peace like when you tripped me up by talking about Thiavi." He sighed.

"As for the rest I am not too sure. There is no death, only the Force. Death is an illusion. It's not to be feared for we all are one with the force in the end."

He paused. "I am sorry. I don't exactly comprehend the others, only the basic idea of them." Kafh said as he glanced to the floor a bit embarrassed.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"You're not suppose to have every answer you know. That's why I'm teaching you." Kahlil chuckled yet again as [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] apologized. "There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. This is a perfect example of that, actually. There is no such thing as a stupid person. There is only those who haven't been taught yet." Like they were talking about now. Kafh might not know what the code means, but that's why he was being taught.

"There is no passion, there is serenity. While the galaxy rages around you, fueled by the passion of all, Jedi strive to be above it. They remain calm, collected. Able to always think with a clear mind.

There is no chaos, there is harmony. We do not make chaos. We do not destroy. We search for balance in all things.

There is no death, there is The Force. The living force is in all things. When we die, we return to the endless stream. Those who die aren't ever truly dead. At least, this is my interpretation of the code. As you learn and understand more, you'll find how you believe."

Kahlil explained that it was okay to not have all the answers. Kafh-en-ma-nofre rubbed the back of his neck meeting the man's gaze. Kahlil launched into an explanation of each part. Or at least his interpretations of it. There is no stupid people, only those who have yet to be taught. The Galaxy is filled by passion. Jedi need to rise above it be the calm in the storm.

Jedi do not destroy but search to balance.

Everything comes from the Force and will eventually go back to the Force. An endless stream one never truly dies.

Kafh-en-ma-nofre nodded. He was going to meditate on that later. Let the Force show him what his interpretation should be. "So there are other interpretations of the code?" Kafh asked.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"I'm sure there are, but I can't think of them. There's billions upon billions of people in this galaxy. Everyone is unique. So, there's bound to me near the same amount of different opinions. What matters though, is what you think it will mean. What it means to you. Think on that, while you practice your saberwork." That would ultimately be it for the day, so Kahlil stood and nodded his head to [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] . "We'll meet up like this every morning, and you'll train with the droid. Sound good?"
