Two for Flinching

Objective: Purge & Purify
Location: Kasshyyk - Some jungle somewhere

Allies: Sith Empire - [member="Kor Vexen"], [member="Scipio Alta"], [member="Tekkio"]
Enemies: Jedi & The Puddycats - [member="Elijah King"]

Equipment: Lightsaber, Revealer, Hunter Cloaking Device, 3 LIS Grenades
Complement: 4 Shadow Fist squads (20), L4R4

The image of several enemy warships exiting hyperspace at the flanks of the Sith Armada, miraculously, caused a slight feeling of panic through the Lightfall Dominion fleet. "Vice Admiral! We're being hit hard from the rear. Any more and we're done for. What are your orders?" The comms officer turned around to see the captain's chair vacant. "V-vice Admiral?" The people on the bridge looked at each other in confusion as their CO had suddenly vanished. Then..a sudden explosion rocked the bridge, decimating any and all within. Blackgate was torn apart by the impressive weaponry of the Jedi fleet. The rest of the Lightfall Dominion fleet maneuvered themselves in order to fight back against the fresh fleet.

"Damnit. My signals being jammed. Something is going on up there. Something I will have to worry about later definitely." Zahori grunted as she fidgeted with her holo-comm. With her signal jammed, she was now unable to coordinate the fleets efforts in space from the ground. "No matter. They'll have to fend for themselves. We still have a mission to complete. Move out!" Zahori was folloed by several squads of the notorious Shadow Fist through the jungle she was currently trudging through. "Find me the nearest unit. I need something to vent my frustrations out on.." Zahori turned to L4R4. "Lara, keep your eyes peeled. Don't need any more surprises." The droid nodded to her master.

"Admiral, we're receiving requests for air support. Should we comply?" a Shadow Fist trooper reported.

"Of course. We have the numbers to spare. Call down some of the squadrons to provide immediate and swift air support.." Zahori replied.

"Yes, Admiral. This is SF-116 Commander Marbo requesting air support throughout the AO. Send as many as you can spare and then some." The skies above Kasshyyk slowly became spotted with black and grey objects flying down in formations at incredible speeds. "Air support on the way, ma'am." reported the trooper.

This is where the real fun began.

Actions
- Blackgate nearly destroyed.
- Rest of Sith fleet fighting for their lives.
- Zahori focuses on the mission on the ground.
- 3 TIE squadrons sent to aid Kor, Scipio, and Tekkio as requested.

Allies: The Sith Empire
Adversaries: [member="Khia Varad"]
The Mandalorian continued to move about throughout the tree top village that these furred beasts lived within. Fett never quite did agree with the notion that they were as sentient as other species. Perhaps they were more so than the four-legged creatures that lived in the depths of the jungle, though it hardly mattered now. In truth, it was shame to see Kashyyyk aflame, the natives slaughtered so on and so forth. This wasn't the Wookiee's war, but their hospitality had caused them to pay the price of harboring a sect of Jedi that were seen as problematic by galactic standards. Yet the Bounty Hunter never had much in the way of an opinion, he just had a certain disdain for Jedi.

The very thought of Mandalorians working alongside the Jedi was met with discomfort, but was entirely understandable. The Jedi were far more reliable in comparison to the Sith, it was a simple fact. Their communications were intercepted by the ever-active multipurpose rangefinder that protruded out the top of his helmet. Overheard by Fett, he knew their location and intentions. Scan after scan they were narrowed down to an exact area: the temple. However, he was only one man against twenty or so Crusaders.

It seemed as if the Bounty Hunter was entrusted with the command of a small, but only in comparison, detachment of Sith Infantrymen. Brief orders were given for them to advance upon the temple Khia and her Mandalorians found themselves within. Their tactics were baiting, intentionally done so with the intent of drawing the Crusaders out. Fett would face them then, and only then. There wasn't something quite right with moving in against such a high concentration of armed individuals.

Vanessa ordered the reserve fleet to merge themselves into formation, with the Ablution at the center of their combined battlegroup - the corvettes were withdrawing, and now was the time to consolidate their forces. Before they had a full opportunity to combine, however, the bigger ships jumped in. The Ablution was immediately swung around to engage, though the tractor beams locked the ship in place. The beams firing from the assault carriers were, to say the least, cause for concern - they did not appear to pack the punch of the LRBBeam, but they were slowly but surely eroding away at the shields of the battleship. Having multiple engine systems meant that it would take time for the Ablution to be fully disabled - time that Vanessa was going to use wisely. Pecking of the solar ionization cannons hit the turret casings, which were still intact right now.

Vanessa ordered all of the ships to engage the Soresu. Plasma shone from the four LRBBeams on the Ablution that could actually target the vessel, streams of energy reminiscent of the Eclipse or the Sovereign that would crash into the enemy flagship's bridge. They would be joined by five more lances of green energy - the beams of the Scylla, Manticore, Hydra, Basilisk, and Gorgon. The SBeams of the Massassi corvettes would join them, along with a plethora of turbolaser and ion cannon fire from the respective warships. The full might of those vessels were unleashed upon the Soresu as Vanessa ordered the majority of engine power to be transferred to the shields. The longer she could sustain the barrage of the proton beams, the greater a chance she would have of exploiting the gap in time. Scans indicated where the hangars and the bridges of the other ships were located.

The fighter pilots began to act on instinct once communications were jammed - the interceptors went to engage the bombers, moving to gun them down as they attempted to bomb the lower portion of the shielded Ablution and further deplete its shields. The starfighters moved to engage the incoming Talons, the extreme firepower of the Eightguns in particular likely proving effective against them, while the Exodus and Trident wings moved through the wave to start bombing the Salen Toth, dropping hundreds of heavy Deathbell Proton Bombs directly on top of the ship from bow to stern - across the ship's tractor beams, proton beams, and bridge. The Scrapmetals, controlled on a different frequency as they were semi-autonomous drones, were stuffed chock full of antimatter charges, unaffected, however, by the jamming. The six squadrons would be split up into three ground of twenty-four. The fighter bays of the enemy carriers were open, and the Scrapmetals - those that survived the run - would fly in, penetrating within the hearts of the carriers before crashing into the interior of the hangar walls, the antimatter charges losing containment and detonating. Once the bombers were empty of ordnance after pounding the Salen Toth, they would break off and move to add their turret firepower to the interceptors engaging the Cyclones.

The Sartinaynian and the Ragnos were ordered to break free of the fleet and shift position - they were sped along, not at full speed, but at a high enough speed to be pointed towards the bridges of the Rojo Trace and Laotah. The goal was to smash the enemy ship's bridges - and given the Legacy-class heavy cruiser was more maneuverable than the bulky assault carrier that was the Union II, they were going to find their targets. The resulting impact would crumble the front of their hulls, necessitating repair, but their command center was deep within the ship and their weapons were located along the sides - the weapons would fire down at the ships they were now partially impaled in, their thrusters at full blast to deepen the wound and force the assault carriers off track.

As well, the Bulwark, Wasp, Mordecai, and Kotiate were moved within the tractor beams of the Rojo Trace and Laotah, breaking their holds on the Ablution. Their anti-warship guns would fire at the tractor beam arrays, looking to damage them and disable them so they specifically would not be casualties of war. Non-essential crew were shunted to the escape pods, and the ships were set to be as automated as possible in the event that the crews were forced to scuttle the ships and overload their reactors - the less time it took the crew to get to their escape pods, the better.

The secondary batteries on the Conquerors and the Ablution, as well as the few turbolasers on the Endeavour and the armaments of the Attritions, would fire across the board at all the big ships. A plethora of point defense lasers, antimissile octets, flak guns, and composite beam lasers would viciously assault the enemy fighters and bombers. Requests were sent to the ships of the Lightfall Dominion fleet to request their assistance in destroying the enemy warships - primarily the ones attacking from long range.

After all of these were set into motion, orders were given to the Traya and the Dorn to set their jammers to max power and activate them, ensuring there would be no way for the likely disorganized Task Force to coordinate. They were to maintain the jamming for a period of thirty seconds or the destruction of the Soresu, whichever came first.

Vanessa sat down on the bridge and decided to focus - there had to be a means of using her Force potential to harm these enemy ships. She positioned herself in a standard meditative position as she focused, recalling the tale of Aleema Keto during the Battle of Koros Major. She began to channel the power of the Dark Side through her and into space as she repeated the ancient illusion spell. "Out of the dark well of night they came, creatures born to the coldness of space." She was already beginning to feel some strain start to affect her. "Devouring planets, swallowing stars..." The resistance of the Force to her expression of this power now pressed on her skull.

"...and drawing all ships to their deaths!" She concluded with a gasp - now that the casting was done, she needed to maintain it. "Captain... you have command for... now..." She strained before focusing on the illusion in question.

Some few kilometers from Admiral Quintu's battlegroup, a void of smoke would seemingly form, as though something was breaking through. With a flash of light, a herd of space grazers would come into existence, slowly, ominously moving towards the enemy ships, their tentacles softly waving throughout the void of space. It was an illusion, of course - how long he would realize this was the question - but hopefully it would relieve some of the pressure off the Ablution from long range.

Okay, let's try to sort out this tl;dr
Reserve fleet starts to merge into main fleet
Ablution central engine is damaged, ship turns in place and engages the Soresu's bridge with its super-heavy beam cannons at close range
All Conqueror-class heavy cruisers turn and engage the Soresu's bridge with their super-heavy beam cannons at close range
All Massassi-class corvettes turn and engage the Soresu with their light beam cannons at close range
Supermajority of Ablution engine power is transferred to shields
Ablution scans bridge and hangar locations on the Task Force Justice large ships, relays info
Forge and Vornskr squadrons engage the unescorted Cyclone bombers attacking the Ablution
Solace, Eightgun, and Aeseth squadrons engage the Talons
Trident and Exodus wings bomb the entire dorsal side of the Salen Toth, including some tractor beams, the bridge, and the forward proton beams
Scrapmetal wings are split up and flown into the hangar bays of the Salen Toth, Rojo Trace, and Laotah, detonating inside them
Trident and Exodus wings, empty of bombs, return near the Ablution and use their turrets and guns to engage the Cyclones
Sartinaynian and Ragnos break from fleet formation and crash into the bridges of the Rojo Trace and Laotah, engines still at full power to force them out of formation
Bulwark and Wasp are moved within the tractor beams of the Rojo Trace, breaking its hold on the Ablution as they fire at the tractor beam projectors
Kotiate and Mordecai are moved within the tractor beams of the Laotah, breaking its hold on the Ablution as they fire at the tractor beam projectors
Nonessential crew on all the Guardians are moved to the escape pods
Secondary batteries on the Conquerors, the Ablution, the Attritions and the Endeavour engage all Task Force Justice big ships
Anti-fighter weapons on all ships engage fighters and bombers
Request sent to Lightfall Dominion fleet to move in and engage Admiral Quintu's battlegroup
Traya and Dorn turn on jammers for a period of 30 seconds or the destruction of the Soresu, whichever comes first
Vanessa gets into position and conjures a Force Illusion of space grazers that seemingly appear from hyperspace and advance towards Admiral Quintu's battlegroup
The captain of the Ablution is placed in charge of the Void Irregular Fleet while Vanessa is busy

She could feel it, there for a moment and then was turning. At first worried something had happened but then she saw her moving and getting dressed before getting over there. Working with one free hand so the other would have the saber ready to defend. "Careful careful." Her voice was soothing and she knew there was a lot that might not be doable here. A healing trance would be best to try and let the force heal her body but if her padwan was going to be awake and help out then she would do all she could to keep her out of the most danger. "We'll get that for you but we aren't going outside the medical wing is full of the injured, they need someone here ready to protect them in case whoever is attacking tries to get easier pickings."

The dark lady emerged from the forests as the environment and Force seemed to bend around her.

Stephanie turned, shield raised on her left arm, saber pointing down in her right hand in a very defensive position. The sound of the assault could be heard all around now; ghostly screams of fighters screaming through the air, distant cannon blasts, rifle shots and commands filtering down wind. The Padawans stood firm, little they could do in this sudden appearance of a Sith Lady.

The Jedi, Spencer, seemed to have things under control, but the stand-off was broken by the sudden attack from an explosive hurtling through the air.

"Down!"

Stephanie cried out, curling into a ball and holding her shield up overhead. A faint rumble, a few blaster shots and nothing more. Nothing except the Master issuing a command as the smell of what seemed to be burning sulfur and acid, teased their noses. The Padawan stood up quickly, backing off a little and noting the haze across the fork between the Rest and the outer perimeter.

"You heard her, as soon as you can, detox. Check yourselves out with medical, ok?" Stephanie turned back to the enemies now present before the temple.

From above it seemed they had cover; another Silver engaging the enemy. Not with the Force, but with brute skill and marksmanship. Things were starting to spiral out of control, and Stephanie didn’t know where to look. Ripples of Force energy radiated from the combatants.

She focused on the Jedi Master and Sith Lady.

"Dear god," she muttered, "if that’s who I think it is, then we need to stick together. If anything happens to the Master Jedi, we’re going to be standing before a Dark Lord of the Sith."

Her skin prickled. Matsu. If this Sith was the Matsu Xiangu who she had read about, then the danger the Padawans and the Silver Rest were in had increased to an alarmingly unfavourable height.

"Hold the line guys. Hold the line…"

Looking at my Master I waited one moment then glanced at the sword the man in beskar held. Tamerlein, which meant two things first my sister had trained him with blades, and second that he'd earned the right to carry it as his own. "Sir while my sister is on her way and I CAN feel that she is, I can't leave these wounded here and unguarded. Though..... if you had some way to keep the medical wing protected in our absence I'd be fine to go with you." Glancing at my Master I noticed she looked more.....protective, attached maybe. My cheeks flushed pink briefly and I turned back to look at the man clad in beskar'gam. "You provide a way to keep the hospital safe and I'll help you however I can."

Then I sensed.....a cat? Suddenly a field of stealth dropped and there was a Corellian sand panther. As the field dropped four Mandalorian war-droids popped into existence, the leader of the squad swiveled to look at me and said "Orders acknowledged, protect hospital wing and residents inside. Blast any meat-bags that wish them harm." The sand panther rubbed against my legs and let me scratch its ears before silently padding off with the war-droids. Looking at my Master I said "Master the hospital is guarded now, and we need to help. Besides you'll be there to protect me." Moving closer to her to block the view of the Beskar clad man who'd already started moving I gently kissed my Masters' lips before pulling away. Hopefully she wouldn't banish me as a padawan after this but I figured we'd be having some kind of talk soon after this assault was over.

Force flight was alright to watch. Less when you were hurled by a force push into your own force push. Cracking his right shoulder against a tree, he slammed his feet into the ground and caught the next trunk with both arms, giving a pull on his bad left leg before coming to halt. Spitting some leaves out of his mouth, there was a good bruise where a branch had hit him square in the face.

“That was a good sandwich.” The Epicanthix stated.

[member="Stephanie Swail"] | ~This one is extremely dangerous. Stay clear~ Kei's mindspeak sent to the group of padawans he sensed off in the distance, his mindspeak poor at the best of times but they were reachable. The way this Sith? felt reminded him of someone he once knew, only even more dangerous somehow. He couldn't protect anyone that came this way and fight someone this dangerous effectively.

Very thick trees here on Kashyyyk, maybe it would take a bolter shot or two. He moved behind one. Kei reached out into the force to find whatever signature he could see, she’d dropped her mask and he felt a presence now. Not all there. Was she still masking? Reaching out with his standard opening technique, a force stasis, and looking for the nervous system to freeze and dampen. She wasn’t human so he didn’t find a normal one. He found her masked in some strange substance, unknown to him the gas, and a brain, then...

Force Stasis
Technique

This took a few seconds to adjust to, time for her to respond. He pushed into her organic nerve endings, trying to freeze them in place, to stun her and then subdue. Amadis was old school Jedi, he didn’t kill if he could avoid it. This technique usually told him if he’d have to. Force stun didn’t work on droids, but the woman he was facing wasn’t a droid fully, she had nerve endings for the dampening current of the force to deaden and stop her from receiving signals to them, effectively freezing her body if it worked. Maybe parts of her body shut off and others didn’t, it might be a bit unsettling overall regardless.

Hand out stretched he put himself fully into the technique and began to advance on her if it was safe, concentrating especially on her arms and that bolter. Continuing to hold the stasis as long as he could. He could have carried on attacking her then and there but he was a Jedi. Jedi and Sith were not the same, despite the galaxies harsh nature, you did what you could.

“No need for more violence. No harm will come to you.” Amadis stated keeping the slug rifle trained toward where she was in his free hand, braced against his right side. It only had about two thirds of the clip left. The slughthrower using sizeable 12mm slugs today packed less per clip, and it would be firing from the hip so to speak, but it’d be far from the first time he had. If she broke or resisted his technique, he’d jump for cover behind one of the thick tree’s Kashyyyk was known for and let rip.

As Valae’s connection to the force grew stronger and deeper, she gained an almost overwhelming sense of what was happening around the temple. Silver Rest had played host to many, but never before had it been a site of battle. The dark forces were advancing swiftly; it seemed that they were determined to bring a fight to this place of peace – they would break ground here.

Drawing a breath, she felt the sudden flow of a familiar presence. “Master Ike,” A name that she whispered with a brief smile. Letting her own signature brush against that of the Jedi Master, she would acknowledge the energy being sent her way. And there inside the meditation chamber, the Grandmaster’s form gently lifted from the floor.

The weightless sensation granted an even greater form of concentration.

But the corner of her eye twitched slightly as she sensed that the fight had begun. It was now that she would focus on pushing her calming presence even further. Valae would fill her mind with a desire to keep her allies focused and alert – sharpening their senses. Hopefully, this would give them an edge in the battle to come.

“Grandmaster,” Quin Su spoke softly, “I will add to your meditation.”

The Cerean healer sat down and closed his eyes, willing his energy to Valae. This added concentration would surely give those around the temple another burst of inspiration – “Be strong, don’t fear them…”

The three remaining members of the Silver Circle continued to stand guard around the Grandmaster and Quin Su. It was Lila and Vash with the most battle prowess, the two would continue to keep vigilant watch. And the counselor Celeste had agreed to relieve Quin Su once he had exhausted his own energy, but for now she stood silently strengthening her own resolve.

The Sith had come to Silver Rest.

But they would not be welcome to stay.

Elpsis was not shocked. Few things caused such a reaction in her. Along with trillions of others, she'd been teleported into the Netherworld during Akala's insane rampage. There, she'd run into the spirit of her evil father, a body-hopping Sith Lord, and beaten the crap out of him.

On Atrisia, she'd faced a Force Storm and a Sith Lord who used a blasphemous ritual to turn himself into a Volcanic Ash Monster...and she'd survived. She and her best buddy pal Laira went on dates that consisted of hunting big game like Krayt dragons. All sorts of crazy stuff had occured in her young life. Above all, she had faith. It burnt as hot as the elemental powers she called upon. She did not fear the darkness or those who served it.

A cloud of acidic gas. had clogged the air. Acid might be able to eat through her phrik armour...but it would take massive amounts of acid and an equally huge amount of time to achieve this effect. Elpsis was also outside of the Ghostmakers' effective range of 9m. In short, she would not be turned into a skeleton.

Moreover, a gust of wind suddenly banished the acidic menace as a new ally entered the battlefield, overcoming this threat. This was one of the reasons the attack would have been more effective in enclosed space. Elpsis felt a warning through the Force as her precognition screamed to life.

Too late for her to dodge the sniper's bulllet. She was saved from being struck by the powerful slug round when the same unexpected ally leapt through the air and collided with her. She was knocked down and hit the ground. Luckily, she did not hit a rock. Still, she was out of it for a moment.

Feeling a bit dazed, she rallied herself and got up. Her milky-white eyes fell upon her unexpected rescuer, a Yodaling. She could feel that he was in pain and instantly felt bad about it, as he'd been caught in her sonic attack.

"Thanks," reaching out, she drew upon the Force and let it flow towards him. She could not eliminate the pain, but make it easier to bear and make him feel less dizzy. Being in the middle of a combat situation, she could only provide minimal assistance to soothe him.

"Yeah, we should. You got a weapon?" Elpsis could genuinely not see if he had one on his person. Thanks for the assist. Gotta divide them somehow, she reached out towards Treebeard. The Sith Lord whose minions had been putting her under fire earlier was still a threat, but she could not split her attention too much.

From another side came the large Sith Lord who'd walked through the ring of fire. Dark power coalesced around him. He had not taken an offensive action yet, but she reasoned he was building up to something. She perceived that the Neti Master, whose aura radiated the Light, had appeared behind him. Thanks. He would feel her gratitude through the Force, but there was no time to express it yet.

Her focus was sharpened by the wave of energy that emanated from [member="Matsu Ike"]. The sonic carbine was on her back again, with the projector deactivated. Pulling out her magnetic revolver, she fired a burst towards Sith Lord Number One and the Apprentice. The bullets - miniaturised pellets - travelled at hypervelocity, meaning they hit a target before you heard them cut through the air. They could also penetrate most forms of armour. They were not precision shots, and more meant to keep the pair suppressed. She hoped to hit kneecaps, though.

The Force surged through her, as she focused upon Sith Lord Number Two. It was the Light she channelled through herself, as she tapped into the power of morichro. He was amped up and probably about to unleash something big, so she would counter with something that made it hard to stay on such a high wattage.

The act itself was like a Force trance, but an offensive variant that suspensed the biological functions, including breathing and heart rate. That way an opponent could be subdued or slowed down. Thusly the empath sought to turn the Sith's energy on him and slow his bodily functions, make him feel tired and perhaps groggy. Ideally, he would not be conscious after that. Things were almost never ideal of a battlfield. Slowing him down would suffice, too.

The scene erupted with violence, which spurred Joycelyn to action. Unlike many of her peers and kin, she had walked among the legionaries, endured their training, gained their discipline and some of their quirks. Yet, she was Sith, a Zambrano, and she was a daughter of the goddess Vahl. When shots were fired, she crouched down slightly and drew the Dauntless from its sheath.

Joycelyn's long legs stampeded through the tall grass, vaulting her over the rocks. The armour encasing her body rattled as she ran, dispelling any notion of stealth. Yet, the way she moved made her a difficult target for ranged weapons as she ducked and weaved from side to side.

She saw the gas grenade dispersed and thrown aside, bringing her focus to the white jedi master. However, Joyce could also sense the intense concentration between Darth Yaomo and the Jedi master. She knew better than getting between such monsters. Instead, the Vahlacanthix looked to the other Jedi crowding the entrance of what she assumed was Silver Rest. Feeling the rage grow in her chest, Joyce grinned and set her eyes on them.

She hated the way they stood there, static, watching, as though there was nothing happening in front of them. The hate grew forth in her eyes, turning the brown into a brighter and brighter yellow.

In her run, she un-clipped the thermal detonator from the back of her belt. She armed it and kept it cooking for a second to prevent it from reaching all the way back if it was returned to sender. Then, her right foot planted firmly in the soil as she transferred power through her hips and torso, to her arm, and threw the thermal detonator at the opening of the Silver Rest.

She knew it had little potential of causing damage, but it might keep someone's attention for a moment or scatter the defences a smidge, thus making it easier to engage one at a time.

Now at last they faced one another. Enyo had dropped her concealment, which allowed the Jedi to sense her. She readied herself for battle and was about to spray him with a bolter salvoe, when suddenly an influence imposed itself on her mind.

Force Stasis. A technique the Cyborg was unfamiliar with, for she had not faced it before. It pushed into her organic nerve endings, attempting to freeze them like ice would, restrain and subdue her. Trap her. Ninety five percent of Enyo was a machine, but her mind was still human.

No matter how much of her had been altered. Upgraded. No matter how much she sought to deny this. For the first time in a long time, she felt something like pain as she fought against this intrusion. It felt like something close to a painful migraine.

Her mechanical limbs were not affected per se. The only thing organic about them was synthflesh. Her legs and arms could move...but her mind seemed paralysed. Lulled into a false state of complacency. Enslavement. Signals cannot be received if there is no one sending them.

When you cage the beast, it gets mad.

Enyo remembered being trapped. Caged. Enslaved. Her Creators had made her a prisoner. They had sedated, removed her brain from her mind from her broken body and locked her away in a dark place, while they violated her, turning her into their metal puppet. Unable to do anything other than watch while her body was pulled by invisible strings. Unable to stop herself when her puppet masters commanded her to murder her own sibling moments after she'd awoken in the clone tank. Unable to scream. But then she'd broken her chains.

She'd crushed those who ruined her and sought to turn her against their siblings. Her remaining oppressors would suffer the same fate. She would crush them, just like she would crush the Jedi who sought to impose his will upon her. At Korriban, she had been helpless when the Jedi rained down hellfire upon her. Now she was not.

She. Could. Not. Be. Caged.

Her chains broke. Her outburst of rage was palpable. It expressed itself in an act of telekinetic willpower, as she wrapped an invisible giant's hand around the Jedi's body, seeking to hold him in place and restrain his limbs with an iron grip, akin to being grabbed by durasteel docking clamps. And crush him inside his armour like a bug. She wanted to see him suffer, hear the sweet sound of bones breaking and of him struggling to breathe.

The stray bolter had smashed a small hole in the wall to look out of. Khia the most impatient for battle of all the old crusaders that once stood beside her, looked at what was waiting outside.

A Mandalorian leading Sith. Someone worth killing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4dopv9TrvI

Khia looked at her battlesister and Seka nodded. “OYA” Go. Let’s hunt. The temple door opened up and out piled the crusaders at a run, moving into cover at the exit, the door locking shut again behind them. A few crusaders hit their jetpacks and landed more distant to spread themselves out. Whoever the Sith were following the Mandalorian they were in for an education. If the Sith were shooting the crusaders were diving for cover. If they weren’t shooting then tough luck they just missed their chance!

Khia wanted the Mandalorian leading the Sith herself. To nail them before her Vod Seka did, else she'd never hear the end of her bragging. Her LMG sized slug thrower, was braced up against the temple entrance wall and soon made itself known with a louder thudding noise, Seka taking cover somewhere off behind them all and a few of the crusaders heading for the roof of the temple to shoot down.

Exchanging fire with the Sith her MRS-1 slug thrower, its explosively tipped SPA-I ion rounds were packing 14mm casings, only 40 per clip, they packed a kick with their size detonating in microexplosions and shorting out any shields they hit. Covering her body with the side of the entrance way, she chewed her rounds into her first Sith in the treeline. Only when there was a break in fire, did she make her way keeping her head down. Cover to cover, moving fast, not stopping if any shots brushed nearby or took a glancing hit on the armor. Three of them including Khia were moving to flank the Sith and they weren't going to stop until they got there.

This was what she lived for. Koda’s move.

Raising his right arm, Reggie pointed his saber at the person that he guessed was responsible for messing with their minds emerge. As the Sith and Jedi master prepared to battle one another, a detonator had been thrown in the air towards them.

He quickly deactivated his lightsaber and fell to the ground. After hearing the Jedi master speak, Reggie got up and searched for their new enemy only to find that an ally had already engaged them in battle with sniper fire.

As he listened to Stephanie speak, Reggie continued to examie the area, looking out for anymore threats. His eyes layed upon a sith who had just threw a detonator towards the Silver Rest.

"Get down!"

Reggie reached out his left hand and tried to send the detonator back with the force. He thought that he had a chance to send it back, but a second after he had used the force to catch it in the air and moved it back a bit, the detonator exploded. As this happened, Reggie brought his arm back to cover his face, and reactivated his lightsaber to prepare for what else was to come. The damage the detonator could of caused was kept to a minimum, but he had a feeling that the acolyte wouldn't stop there.

The fight was not going well. At least not for the Sith, who seemed thwarted at every turn. The series of events occurred quickly, certainly, but there were moments that lulled in the combat. The arrival of a small alien with long ears, which leapt over Olrunn, knocking the redhead aside - which, in turn, caused the sniper shot to miss. That was unfortunate. And then Excidium saw his opening, and without hesitating or even pausing to remark, he flooded his body with Force Speed - pushing all of the energy he had been channeling thus far in the fight throughout his body. And right when the redhead was gathering herself, turning her attention to the new arrival with long ears and short stature, Excidium moved--

The Sith Lord was a literal blur. He was a near-human, his species blessed with enhanced speed and reaction time; coupled with a full charge of Force Speed, very few would be able to maintain any awareness of Excidium's movements, especially with attention divided on assisting an ally with the Force. In the blink of an eye, the Sith Lord was beside the redhead, his passage not having even caught up to him as the leaves and dirt remained stationary, such was his movement. The long-handled lightsaber in Excidium's hands, drenched in Dark Side power, flashed out with exact precision, the powerful blade enhanced by a rare crystal, seeking the exposed thighs of his opponent - those portions of the inner-leg that had vulnerable joints. The blade itself was a shoto-length, being shorter than regular lightsabers, which allowed for exact and perfect strikes within close-range at even faster speed than normal.

Additionally, being so close to the weapon, both the redhead and short alien would suddenly be under the effects of the lightsabers aura, suffering from a potent sensation comparable to Malacia. It would be incredibly difficult to mount a response, and proper defense, to such a rapid attack combined with Excidium's natural speed, and the nausea and dizziness of the dark aura... but at this point, Excidium didn't even think, he was reacting, instinctual. His mastery of Soresu and Niman taking over, his movements faster than most eyes could see and most thoughts could comprehend.

As he attacked, the Sith Lord noted the redhead was speaking - her mouth moving ever so slowly - as she addressed the smaller companion. The words drowned out, lengthened by the distortion of time. Excidium didn't even have a moment to ponder the redhead's decision to turn attention away from three enemies, to try and heal a companion, and to then speak with him - or her, it - before returning to the fight...

--No, instead, the Sith Lord struck at impossible speed, using that moment of divided attention, and a fully charged Force Speed movement, to maximize his effort. And to finish, should the miraculous occur and his hyper-fast attacks didn't land, he reached out with his gloved hand, and applied a large flow of Force with a powerful Telekinetic blast point blank to the chest and head of the redhead - and only then, did the leaves and dirt kick up, leaving a trail the Sith Lord had moved along in his wake from his original position...

If the redhead avoided Excidium this time around, it would be beyond uncanny, it would be nigh-unbelievable.

OH ME TOO: That Other Girl - Sevdaliza

In the end, Jared Ovmar had perhaps seen the wisdom in riding the line. Different philosophies. He’d come back every now and then, telling her that being too much to one side was blinding. And she didn’t necessarily disagree. Coming of age in the Fringe had forever cast her as too other to fit with nearly any major collective since. Too independent for the stuffy rituals of the Sith, too many questionable habits for the Jedi.

Ashin, Spencer, Jared.
And fear.
The greatest motivator for building the fortress had been fear.
Someone had hurt her. And she decided that would never happen again.
Decades of singular obsession.

The idea of having that tested by perhaps the only living person that truly could was too good to pass up.

And then the Forcebreaker was thrown, right out of Matsu’s periphery. It was, of course, thrown forward towards Spencer and the group of Padawans and was therefore out of range of what might affect her personally. But it could be advantageous even as Spencer pushed it away. It was a split-second to work the advantage of momentary distraction and she took it for what it was worth.

Jared had taught her something else: burning down a planet just because you could was a pointless show of power that did nothing but exhaust you. A white-hot, precise sting of calculated strength sent the message just as well.

It wasn’t the full brunt of her power that she brought against Spencer, but it was...precise. Worm her way in underneath. Rot the foundations, find where they’re weak, watch the walls sink. Find a hole. Sneak inside. Take the other woman apart. By holding herself in reserve, she allowed the protection of her own mind in kind.

As far as her companions went, both of them knew her. Both of them knew her capable of covetous obsession, of latching on to something and not letting go. And wilting flowers, they were not. Enyo needed no instruction and nor was she beholden to Matsu’s word - she was her own combination of woman and machine, and she would no doubt find something to dismember. And Lok knew what to do: destroy.

This was...unfamiliar. And therefore, something to covet.
“It’s just you and me.”

It was a small thing, the hint of fear in Stephanie's voice that stopped Asaraa short, her blue eyes stretching wide as she half-twisted to stare at the other Padawan, her lightsaber flicking off her belt and into her hand without the need for any conscious thought. The silver blade thrummed to life as she turned her gaze on the woman standing in front of them, what had Stephanie called her, Matsu? The Padawan had never seen her friend so worried, so distraught before. The Togruta was the first to admit that her knowledge of the galaxy was lacking, she knew some of the names, leaders of some factions and the men and women who she had met, the friends she'd made and those they'd told her of. This Matsu though, the young woman could sense the darkness, the slick oily feeling that seemed to pulse off her like a stain spreading across the land around her, the taint almost seeping into the ground and the air around her, summoning a sliver of fear, of anger deep within Asaraa's core. A whisper that urged her forward, urged her to raise her blade and strike the sith down. A wild primal urge, she did take one step forward before catching control of herself, watching another Jedi join them, a master who seemed to know the opponent. The two exchanged words and glances, a weight of history between layering each word with meaning and a sense of urgency she couldn't hope to match. The Togruta drifted closer to her fellow Padawan's clearing the space for them as she felt the vaguest forboding of a struggle. Backed right into the path of a rain of grenades. Spencer had taken care of the first, but a second came whistling through the air, only for Reggie to react, swatting it away as he dove to the ground. The Togruta stepped out in front of him, her blade weaving a defensive pattern in the air as her eyes stared into the forest canopy, searching out the next threat as she threw her senses out forward, searching for any eddies in the force.

The lingering tension was unbearable, the small few worded conversation between the Sith Lord and Jedi Master seeming to take so long, but deep down Tanasuki knew there was a deeper connection between the two. The force swirling around both combatants as they stare down upon on another, any second now a potential first step of the duel to take place, that would not mean the other Sith aligned members would still keep back, throughout the entire stand off Tanasuki keeping a close eye on the armored mans standing nearby.

Concentrating on the force the Jin heightened his already vampiric enhances hearing and senses, looking out for the slightest click or nose that would indicate offensive movement, but once again non came, well not form the person he was keeping watch of. From the tree line another object was flown, round and beeping with the ever classing ring of a thermal detonator, heading straight for the group of Padawan, another silly and ultimately worthless attack, Reggie, being quick to the punch, sending a force push towards the device.

Though exploding on impact the blast did little to affect the Jedi, Tanasuki merely raising is hand, projecting a localized force push around the Padawans, counteracting the shock wave caused by the explosion, leaving them right as rain. "I would never have expected the Sith to be so... timid in there attacks, surely they must have something better to do then throw stuff at us". At this point it seemed almost as if the Sith where afraid somehow, during other attacks and invasion they never hesitated to charge in guns blazing, not caring who died as long as they slaughtered the enemy and won, how times had changed.

"Need for a weapon, I have not, for the Force is my ally."

Minch's eyes closed for a moment. He could feel a wonderful breeze come upon him, soothing him, but it wasn't all by natural occurrence. First, the goodwill and friendship of the woman he helped drifted over to him like a warm, sea breeze. He couldn't help but notice that it was strained, however. He sensed strain in the effort, as though she was not used to sharing in happiness with others; that she took more upon herself than she should. But, that was for another time.

Then came [member="Matsu Ike"]'s wave of benevolence. He felt a calm and kinsmanship unlike he'd ever experienced before yet once in his life; when he was given ritual blessings by his family to go out into the galaxy and serve a greater purpose. He became confident and welled with energy. When two or more gathered together in the Force, miracles could happen. The larger the source of Light, the larger the perimeter of Darkness. That was why the Sith had come here, but that overconfidence and twisted desire would only serve against them.

Before he was able to sense it, he realized he had healed himself. Minch had used his powers to heal others over the many years of his refugee assistance, but never had he passively used those powers to quickly heal himself or others. It had to have been a reflection of the power of the Light Side bastion they fought upon and the efforts of the Jedi within. The surge of power passed, leaving him invigorated and confident as he stood strongly to his feet once more.

His smile dropped and his heart flipped as Darth Excidium moved at ludicrous speed, poised to attack her in person. A diseased presence rolled off the man and overwhelmed Minch's senses. It was so vile, it caused Minch to turn aside and throw up the contents of breakfast. His mind turned woozy and his hands trembled, but the Force Valor from two sources re-asserted themselves and helped him reach a tenuous equilibrium.

Minch tried to move fast to reach Elpsis. He couldn't hope to match ludicrous speed and probably wouldn't be able to do anything about Excidium's attack, but he tried his darndest to reach her fast. He would do his best to leap lightly upon her back, cling to her and start channeling the Force.

He closed his eyes, breathed deep and called the wind down around them. He furrowed his brows and did his best to hold his concentration as he called down the wind to buffet and push against those who came near the two of them. It wasn't like a Force Push, but more like a continuous "trying to sprint into the wind and feeling like you were only jogging" effect. Hopefully, this would provide a speed debuff against incoming foes as long as Minch was able to maintain concentration.

How he would have preferred to talk all this out. He disliked combat, death and all these unnecessary wars. There was no real reason for them to be here attacking but for the sake of fruitless war and violent pleasure. Yet, the enemy was too vicious to attempt talking down at this time. Perhaps, if they could wear them down, they might be more open to reasoning. T'was the nature of the Dark Side. Their power came immediately and thus only served them in the short term. Just as the rush of chemical potencies of the mind waned, so too would the anger and hatred drain away as their duration was tested.

"Not intruding, I hope I am," whispered Minch in her ear.

Kachirho. It was a majestic sight to behold. Forged in the age before the great cataclysm had split the galaxy asunder, and spiralled around the trunk of a wroshyr tree, the city stood as a testament to the talent and craft of its people. Generations of Wookiee that was birthed within that sprawling citadel had left their mark, either by tool or claw, which amounted to their collective hearts and souls being poured into the tree itself. These acts, of putting a fragment of their essence into the wroshyr’s bark, had formed a bond between the Wookies and their homeworld - one that only broken when their venerable cycle of life had reached its grisly terminus. Through this eternal partnership, those that had resided within this towering edifice had endured many lifetimes of great sorrow and boundless joy. From being coiled into the conflict between two great galactic powers, to the many centuries of undisturbed tranquillity, their massive home atop the home tree of Vikkilynn endured.

However, there were times when such needed shelter had come at a cost, and the Wookiee’s within were required to defend their coastal home. To this end, they despoiled their hearts work so that they could better protect their souls, by ridging once sweeping concourses with panelled turrets and shrouded gunports. These changes weren’t solely contained to the spiralling city of Kachirho and had spread to the surrounding beaches. Spanning the length of the sugared coastline that surrounded the crooked tree - snaking trenches were dug into the sand and were further reinforced by thick slabs of duracrete. While they would provide the cover needed by the Wookiee’s to defend their home from the surface, such crude barricades could do little against an aerial foe. Dealing with that avenue of aggression would fall primarily to the various catamarans and ornithopters that were initially designed for civil service - but were pressed into military service whenever the call to arms was sounded.

While this right had been exercised, those who dwelled atop Vikkilynn had hoped that when the Mandalorians had invaded - during the twilight hours of the Galactic Republic’s reign - would’ve been the last time. Sadly, years after the Republic’s fall, the horn that rested upon the pinnacle of Kachirho city blared yet again, marshalling the Wookiee’s within to ready themselves for battle once more.

It was in the midst of their preparations that the Wookiee’s had found themselves beset by the sudden appearance of the Golden Company. Though these tree-dwellers had not known the strange colours or the lidless eye that marked the Golden Corvette, they knew it’s arrival would spell their doom - if it wasn’t destroyed or driven away in time. While it’s design was blatantly Mandalorian in origin, those sheltered within the crooked citadel refused to believe that an old enemy had returned. There were rumours that they warred amongst themselves and that it would be ages until they rose from the ashes. Had these speculations been nothing more than whispered vitriol meant to confuse any and all that caught their corruptive wind? When the lustrous starship had taken station above their sprawling homes, any and all questions they had were erased from their minds - replaced by the conflicting tides of fear and rage.

Without hesitation, those Wookiee’s that had managed to rush to their posts along the iron-wood parapets ratcheted their turrets into place and began to open fire. Swirling pods of concussion missiles and coruscating bolts of emerald lightning lashed out at the starship, striking its layered shields with all the fury their emplacements could muster. While the lances of beryl energy punched home, causing the corona of the projected barrier to ripple with aetheric agony, the missiles had found themselves falling short - as their guidance systems had been terminated - sending them spiralling off wildly into the distance. Those that had managed to strike the Corvette, due in part to their trajectory being unaltered, had smashed against the particle shields - forcing flowers of ash and fire to blossom in the skies above Kachirho. Throughout this assault, contrary to what the Wookiee’s had desired, the starship didn’t idly sit by and watch as their shields were rapidly depleting. Instead, with inhuman rapidity, the turrets dotting the vessel’s hull swung towards a myriad of targets and opened fire.

Coalesced beams of crimson and sapphire light speared into the bulbous growths that dotted the surface of Vikkilynn, setting several of the iron-barked domiciles ablaze. To further enhance this burgeoning inferno - that would claim the city in due course -handfuls of cluster missiles streaked forth from the Corvette, corkscrewing through the air until they were either intercepted or showered their targets in a storm of sundered metal and fire.

With the size of the tree quickly dwarfing that of the Corvette, the impressive armament that it had brought to bear was effortlessly matched by the Wookiee’s - especially with the inclusion of their press-ganged ornithopters and catamarans. In response, every weapon that was fitted to the starship thrummed with violence, belching forth a ceaseless stream of energy and kinetic projectiles. While this was an act that would eventually see the city of Kachirho razed, when the defences fell, and the populace was forced to abandoned their embattled homes, it also served as a distraction. As the Wookiee’s were focused on bringing the Corvette down with everything they had at their disposal, the dropships that had flown alongside their mobile berth had circled in and began depositing their cargo. With their gauss rifles raised, dozens of Sun Guard cohorts spilled off the deployment decks of their hovering dropships and brought the fight to the Wookiee’s within Kachirho.

Through the use of devastating technology, when pitted against brute strength of a hardy people, both sides were evenly matched - and thus began the Battle of the Wawaatt Archipelago.

Kashyyyk System // Wawaatt Archipelago // Kachirho City - North of 'Dunkirk' Beach.
The Golden Company, Seventh Legion. Contractually bound to the Sith Empire.
Objective: Make Planetfall and Establish a Beachhead.
Equipment: See Codex NPC Submission.
Complement: Forty Sun Guards, and Two Phaethon-Class Assault Transports.

As the doors of the dropship had retracted into their housings, the Golden Tribune was the first of his bonded Legion to disembark with his service weapon raised, and the first amongst the gathered Sun Guards to find his prey. With his armoured boots carrying him across the iron-wood grating towards a distant door, his suit’s integrated sensors had detected a gathering mass of signals that triggered his life-form scanners. There were nearly a dozen Wookiee warriors, that had gathered in the corridor outside the sealed portal; seeking to meet these Golden Intruders, repulsing them from their honoured homes by any means. The Thyrsian was pleased that he didn’t have to wait and that their prey had found the courage to hunt them instead. It was enough to force his lips into compliance and curl into a serpentine’s approximation of a smile.

Without a word, he canted his orders to his men, beckoning them to advance and take their positions before the door. From what the Tribune’s visor could see, they were preparing something on the opposite side of the door, and the stances their carpeted forms took were all too familiar. It seemed that in the opening salvos of the exchange, this bulbous chamber had once housed something of value - be it a family of a loved one or some cache of munitions - and was swept away into the annals of history. Such a furious act had ruined the mechanisms inside the entrance, forcing their hands to defile their home once again to come to grips with their newfound enemy. This gave the Tribune all the time he needed to have his men fan out and encircle the door, and activate their mobility shields once they had taken their positions.

Seconds of forced silence, broken only by the thunder encapsulating the entirety of the crooked tree in the background, had passed before a single note had echoed through the wooden bulkheads. When that resonate tune had faded, the door exploded outwards in a conflicting shower of fire and sundered metal. The projected barriers that surrounded each of the Sun Guards flickered, as their particle shielding furiously absorbed the incoming shrapnel - atomizing it on contact. Though the shaped charge had directed the explosion outwards, the blast had not been so forgiving, as the damage ranged from peppered shields to collapsed barriers, or one or two of his number withdrawing behind cover. When the dust began to settle, his prey had made their move.

The first of the Wookiee’s had fallen, with nearly a half-dozen ferromagnetic quarrels spearing through various portions of his carpeted figure. His wounds were cauterized on impact, and had three of the bolts from the Golden Tribune’s bowcaster not pierced through vital organs? He would’ve been able to recover. Sadly, his fate was to be nothing more than an obstacle for the Sun Guard to pass over and to be forgotten whenever the Silver Jedi had come to reclaim their razed city. Without regarding his slain prey, Khonsu advanced towards the door, hammering the Defenders of Kachirho with semi-automatic quarrels - encased in an envelope of coruscating beryl plasma.

Those that had not retreated behind whatever cover they could find joined their Tribune in the relentless assault - leaving no survivors when their battle had finally come to an end.

“Police any cartridges you can find,” the Thyrsian bellowed through his armour’s integrated systems. “And take trophies at every opportunity. The Sith Empire wants their proof of our kills, so be sure to collect some scalps too.”
