#Vacay

"You do know I prefer the urban jungle, right?" Stepping from the bathroom, she started rummaging through the dresser drawers in the bedroom. The second one from the bottom had a small throw blanket. Snatching it up, she offered it to Munin.

"Got one."

Blue-eyes beneath glass lenses flitted one last time to the couch.

"It's like you don't know who I am after dating me for all these months," she teased quietly and began stuffing extra snack-packs in the pockets of her shorts.

He smiled at her.

"Well I'm not exactly from Felucia either." Munin reminded her. He'd never actually lived on any world that had a wilderness, usually the orphanages had always been on planets with cities, or they'd been located in the middle of the worlds largest town. That had been done on purpose, to keep him and the other orphans confined. Still, this wasn't about what they were used to, it was supposed to be a vacation.

He pulled out the map from the drawer, unfurling it.

"Look." He pointed to their cabin, already marked on the map. "There's a cliff here."

He slid his finger to a point about two miles away from them, not a long walk, probably about fifteen or twenty minutes tops. "We can sit and just watch the sky. There won't be much light pollution."

Meaning they could actually see the stars.

Two miles. Probably more like forty minutes. The average pace was twenty minutes a mile to walk. And they'd be going slow. #night #Finncoordination

"Okay. But if I fall off the cliff, it's your fault." She grinned at him and took one of the headlamps, heading out the doors. Securing it on her head, finger switched on the illuminator. Head turned to Munin, accidentally blinding him.

"Which way? And I want a coupon for a foot massage from you after this."

"Well you have to make the coupon." Munin told her her as he blinked a few times, blocking the light that was coming from her head as she tried her best to ensure she wouldn't have to go hiking. He blinked a few more times.

"Okay." The Information Broker put on his own head-lamp. "Let's go."

Gently he grabbed Spark, turning her around so she wouldn't blind him anymore.

"It'll be fun!" Munin said as he pushed her forward and out the door.

"Lots of things are fun," she mused, logically, carefully picking her way down the path. Shadows jumped within the edges of the light, making ordinary rocks and shrubs look like monsters. She shied back and took Munin's hand. Right now the trail was wide enough to walk side-by-side.

It's okay. This isn't that jungle planet. Adekos isn't here. There aren't any acklays.

She squeezed his hand, then continued, trying to keep her voice level.

"Like playing hologames, going in the hot tub, and snuggling in bed with a datapad."

She heard a branch snap in the woods. Hand tightened on Munin's. #justalittleanimal!

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Oh so you're advocating snuggling now?" Munin asked with a smile.

The idea wasn't too farfetched. The two of them had been sleeping in the same bed for a while now. Every now and again he would leave the bedroom to go sit alone, but he would always return to her when he actually did sleep. He enjoyed it, even if she did end up kicking and jabbing him half the night. A small smile perked at his lips.

"Should've said something earlier." He told her as he gently squeezed her hand. "You might have been able to convince me to stay inside."

The light of the headlamp washed over the small forest besides them, tiny beady eyes of a squirrel flaring back at them.

Munin squeezed Spark's hand again, then continued down the path.

"I meant snuggling with the datapad only," she teased and lightly nudged Munin's side. There was a subtle shift in the path as the grade started to increase. She could also hear the roar of the ocean and waves off to their left.

Free hand swatted at a buzzing fly in her ear.

#uggghnature

She stumbled on some loose rocks and tugged at Munin's hand for balance as she righted herself.

Munin made sure that Spark kept standing, his hand coming up to support her before she could fall over onto her face.

"Careful." He told her as he shifted slightly. The path was dark, but that was what their headlamps were for. He shifted slightly so that the light was shined better onto the walkway in front of them. The trip wouldn't be a very good one if Spark was falling all over the place.

"Almost there I think." Munin told her. "I can hear the ocean."

He moved a little faster, keeping an arm around Spark just in case.

[member="Munin"]

"Thanks," she squeaked and was thankful that Munin couldn't see her own embarrassment in the mostly dark. She leaned more into him as they walked, trusting his steps and guiding arm. This was so far from where they'd come. She hadn't even wanted to hold his hand just months ago.

It wasn't personal. It was just, touch was never her thing. It took her a loooong time to warm up to someone.

#progress

And now she couldn't stop thinking about that kiss and what else might happen after that.

After awhile, she saw the ground d level out again and a warm breeze touched their skin as they came out of the jungle and onto the surface of a cleared field just over the cliff. Brilliant white specs littered the sky in a brilliant celestial display.

"Wow," she breathed and without thinking about, flipped off her own headlight.

[member="Spark Finn"]

Munin kept his on, though just long enough to lay out the blanket that he'd been carrying. He tossed it onto the ground in a perfect square, smoothing the wrinkles within it and then guiding Spark to sit down, mostly because he was half-afraid she would stumble on some rock and end up falling off the cliff.

A very real danger with her.

As soon as she found herself seated Munin joined her, plopping himself down besides her and glancing towards the stars. His own headlamp was switched off, letting them see the stars even better. In the distance on the horizon he could see other specs of light, likely cabins or boats that were currently occupied. "See?"

He told her as his arm slipped around her.

"Told you it would be worth it." He smiled at her, glancing back up towards the sky.

[member="Munin"]

"Okay. Okay," she smiled in the dark, legs bent at the knees as she turned into him. It wasn't exactly cold but she was wearing shorts. #hipstershorts

"You were right," she sighed. Head rested against his shoulder and chest as she stared out ahead of them and up at the sky. "You still owe me a foot rub though."

Head shifted against him, blonde hair ticking his skin. It was dark and they were definitely alone. Otherwise, she'd be a bit wary of PDA.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"I dunno about that." He told her as he watched the skies.

There was always something rather amazing about seeing space form this perspective. Sure they had starships, they had hyperspace, they even had space station, but this was something entirely different. It was like a glimpse into the unknown, it was like seeing every possibility, every idea that could be held in different star systems. He frowned slightly.

Somewhere out there were answers for him.

Somewhere.

"You have to make the coupon." He insisted. "Then it has to be approved by the commission."

He was making this up of course.

[member="Munin"]

"Pffft," she sputtered and let her gaze break from the sky to Munin's starry-lot face. "I have an in with the commission so I doubt it'll be a problem."

She nudged him lightly with her body.

#dangerousbonyhips

She let the silence fill the space before she asked her next question. "Are you doing...okay?"

He'd know what she meant. About the Keep and finding answers. Maybe his sister would have another lead.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"I don't know." Munin answered honestly. A part of him wanted to pretend that everything was fine, that he wasn't hurt and that he would be perfectly okay, but that wasn't the way he felt. The Information Broker wanted to be strong for Spark. He wanted to show her that he could support himself and that he wouldn't fall apart in the slightest breeze, but...well it just didn't feel like that. He frowned for a moment and shifted slightly.

"I..." He trailed off.

"I just expected to find more." He said quietly. "I thought I was going to find out I was some sort of monster. A genetic experiment gone wrong, something like that...I was expecting the worst. i thought you'd leave me, that Huginn and I were created for some evil purpose."

He shrugged. "I was gearing up for the worst."

Munin simply hadn't expected to find nothing.

[member="Munin"]

She lifted her head and pulled back a bit so she could see his face. Hand found his. She squeezed it gently. "I had no idea you felt that way. I think I was worried you'd be the one to leave me first," a small smile. He already knew the story of her last boyfriend.

#trustissues

"I'm not going anywhere. No matter what. As long as it's in my power to do so."

She couldn't stop accidents. #duh

"Even if you don't know your past. It's who you are now that defines you."

[member="Spark Finn"]

He smiled at her, squeezing her hand gently, though another thought came to him.

"What if..." He looked down. "What if what I am changes?"

Munin had no plans to suddenly start murdering people, to become something else, but he still had no idea what the feth was actually in his head. The implants that were in his brain, his muscles, his bones, he had no idea what any of them actually did. Trying to find out would likely be dangerous, and if he was...created in a lab there was no telling what was lurking inside of him. "What if someone somewhere can just flip a switch."

He'd had the nightmare more than once since the Keep.

"And..." He bit his lip. "And I become someone else?'

[member="Munin"]

She was quiet. Thoughtful. A breath left her mouth. "Well," fingers played against his hand for a moment as her speckled-gaze met his in the dark.

"You do know you're dating a technopath, right?" She nudged his leg lightly with her foot, a brief smile crossing her thin lips. "In all seriousness, I'd try to figure it out, help you if I could. Find whoever was pulling the switch."

#Committed

"I'm not one to give up so easily, Munin. Just look at all the Sith who tried to turn me and failed."

[member="Spark Finn"]

"I know." It was a comforting thought, he trusted in Spark. He knew that she would do everything that she could to keep him grounded, keep him alive and the same way that he was now, but...the fear was still there. She had resisted torture, horrible things, but wasn't that different?

If someone had made him, created him...

"I guess we'll find out eventually." He told her quietly. "I'm not going to give up looking."

He had the Red Codex, that alone was a greater resource than anyone could ever imagine. Munin simply had to find the right place to look, had to find the right thing to search for. Eventually he would find what he was looking for, eventually he would actually be able to figure out what he was.

Slowly the Information Broker leaned back, laying down on the blanket and gently pulling Spark with him.

[member="Munin"]

"Eventually. Maybe it'll never be a problem," she offered hopefully. It was perhaps a bit naive but worrying about something that could happen wasn't productive either. Back hit the blanket and she curled into Munin, stealing some of the warmth his body offered. Bare legs tangled against his.

She stifled a yawn.

"You might have to carry me back," she teased softly. A shooting star streaked across the sky above them.

[member="Spark Finn"]

He smiled. "Maybe."

That was certainly a hope of his. That whoever had created him and Huginn simply forgot about them, lost experiments that could never be recovered. Maybe it was a pipe dream, maybe it was a naive hope, but it was still there.

The Information Broker let out a loud sigh as Spark curled into him. For now he would forget his troubles. There was no use simply wallowing in his own misery, he had to move on, he had to do something else.

"Oh?" He wrapped his arms around her. "Bet I could wake you up."
