Velmor's Subjugation

MSE's mournful wails turned to excited squeals as new targets entered his reticules. The weapons re-energized and reoriented on the fleeing Republic starfighters.

Assorted weapons, with whose technical specifications and designations MSE was not familiar, spat assorted fire at the Republic starfighters just as the interceptors began to intercept them. Lovely fireballs.

Need satiated.

Kirk got word that the squad pursuing the gunship @[member="Sasha Santhe"] and @[member="MSE-007"] were on approached the Republic starfighter squadron. He then made the orders so that the main objective of all the Imperial forces was to destroy the Republic starfighters.

Then, Kirk got the translated message that Sasha sent. He ordered his communications officer to respond with a radio message asking the gunship to follow its previous squadron after the Republic starfighters have been destroyed or be declared a deserter.

Spencer grinned seeing the King's outburst, things were finally getting heated. Though Spencer was growing tired and she could feel the forces wanting to attack. Spencer reached up and scratched the side of her cheek as she looked at the father and daughter.

"Well, here take a look your Majesty."

Placing a small disc onto the table between them Spencer revealed a feed from the ships above. Republic fighters had entered the airspace and were in combat with the Sith.

"The Republic seek to have you under their thumb. The Empire will protect you, the Empire is a ticket to freedom and you won't have to fear anyone. Your daughter seems to be a bit wary of our presence, but I assure you things will be the way you've always had it, but far better."

As she spoke, Spencer focused her force energies on the King's mind. She started to prod and attempt to enter the man's head, if she could keep him on her side and get him to sign his allegiance to the Sith she could pick up some scones from the Toates bakers and bring them to Ashin. The young woman was talented with the mental force abilities she had been taught.

"That is an excellent idea!"

Nada twirled with her pudding bowl and started to dip everything into it.

"I love pudding, everything should be dipped in pudding! Muffins, Scones, Pie....mmm delicious pie -- not dusty pie!"

"I'd rather be on the ground too, Eldoc," said the now-painfully-sober Whiphid. "I believe diplomatic talks are at a delicate stage. We'll land once it's time to set up a nice peaceful occupation. That's my hope, anyway. Or, perhaps, we'll conquer Velmor the hard way. But who knows what the Empress wants, or her people on the ground."

Sasha piloted the ship through the dogfight. Fighters tried to get onto their tail and were shot by MSE and the rear facing laser cannon. She recieved the commanders message to rejoin the squadron and signaled back in the affirmative. But first there was more things to kill. The fighters broke away in many directions and Sasha kept the gunship on course to help deal with them. Then she was safe, free to flee the scene and rejoin the unit, or so she had thought. A missile flew from one of the nearby fighter craft and struck the gunships wing. "I can hold her together," Sasha yelled as the large gunship twirled about, she regained control and looked out. Their port guns were damaged, if the enemy attacked from there it would be hard to defend. She put her mind into the sensors and extended outward wary of any possible attacks....

The cloaked Peregrine closed in on the planet of Velmor. It skimmed invisibly over all manner of farms, communes, gemstone mines, art collectives, and assorted pansy liberal trash. No discipline, no order, no pruning -- just overgrowth. Too much freedom.

Ashin did not, on the whole, by and large, approve.

The cloaked vessel came to a stop over the main city, and hovered above the place where Spencer was currently negotiating with the royals.

Just in case.

While strong of will, the King, having been unused to such manipulations through the Force. Velmor, as stated before, had been isolated from the major Force Using Organizations. As the Princess had said, Velmor was not a planet prone to war; at the most it held a milita to keep the peace.

There was a slight furrow of his brow, a bit of confusion. "Yes.... yes... I see."

"Father!"

"Quiet Ozmeri!" he shot back at her, bringing his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. Pausing, he dropped his hand then those old, pale blue eyes the color of a perfect spring sky locked onto Spencer's own.

"Do I have your word, Ambassador, that it is so? I will still keep my full sovereignty and my people will be left in peace without a change to my rule? "

BLAATT*

No! I refuse to concede that my beautiful guns have suffered such crippling damage. I shall reroute all available power from the damaged weapons systems to the most functional apparatuses -- apparati? -- of destruction. Beautiful, beautiful destruction. And with those freshly empowered guns-

Further Republic starfighters, clawing for hyperspace, fell beneath the fury of MSE-007.

With the Republic starfighters pinned by two different groups of Imperial interceptors, they were quickly destroyed to the last vessel. @[member="Sasha Santhe"]'s gunship managed to distract and damage enough of the Republic's ships to make a meaningful impact in the scuffle.

When the final Republic starfighter was destroyed, Kirk made the order for the squadron to fly in formation in orbit and prepare to descend on the capital.

"I'll take some whipped cream, I think," Iestyn said, grinning. "I think I would like to eat some cheesecake soon!"

He went back to pouring cookie mix onto a tray and laying it out, making sure that chocolate chips were present. This had to happen.

Aye, I just twish we knew more, I hate not knowing... So Velok tell me have you seem my last apprentice? I think he turned out fairly well considering he came to me and paid me a small fortune to train him. " He smiled, he was starting to like his former instuctor more and more, he was a good comrade, and had a good head on his shoulder, but then again like did not imply trust.

Spencer felt him start to give way to her control, though his last question struck her for a moment. The girl was never deeply rooted into the Sith and the last thing she wanted was to see them destroyed. It was why Ashin had decided to do this. Focusing on influencing him, Spencer gave him a sense of peace and support. It was the least she could do as she caused the rift between father and daughter. It was a rift that strike her deep in her heart.

"Your people will be safe, your majesty. I just need your word that you will remain loyal to the Empire and support us as we will support you."

And a quiet voice whispered in the ear of the king, more in ideas than in words.

If you yield to them now, they will take Velmor without a shot fired. Not a single citizen dead. Velmor will face all manner of horrors in months and years to come, but for now, today, you can give your world peace. One day at a time, Your Majesty, one day at a time.

Ten more seconds. A total of 30 so far. No blinking.

However, the Sith had cheated, so while she may think she won, she actually lost... for the handmaiden still did not blink.

Some, like her, did not use the Force as a crutch. A lifetime of training, even though her eyes did begin to feel the sting of burn, allowed her to continue.

Sasha intuitively knew what the droid was saying, and followed orders. Not that she needed to. She was Sasha Santhe, but the alternative was being shot at by her own fighters. She contemplated for a moment. She fell in with the rest of the squadrons and started toward the planet. They surrounded the planet orbiting it, preparing for their landing to take the capitol, or else fly over and remind the public who the new lawful masters of the realm truly were.

"Who, Zaiden? Yes, I've seen the reports from your collaborative work on Aargonar. I was most impressed. The two of you together, Hands of the Empress fighting side by side -- they're already telling stories of the two Dark Jedi who fight alongside the Sith. I've heard you did well in training him. Hopefully he serves as an example to bring more Dark Jedi, and more diverse Force-users, into the Empire. Where I can take their secrets and give them new ones.

"Any minute now; I feel it in my bones. They'll send us down for a peaceful occupation, and we can turn this place into a staging point. A safe point. We've done a fantastic thing today. We've been part of history."

"Father!" Ozmeri burst out, taking a step forward as if attempting to stop what she knew she could not.

"Anaye... take the princess to her chambers." The King said quietly, mulling over what would seem to be his own thoughts resonating in his mind, when they were in fact, a medly of Spencer's and Je'gan's voice.

"Father NO!" but by then, the handmaiden had taken the Princess's arm, drawing her away. The last she would see would be her father, Velmor's king, bowing his head towards the Sith Empire's Ambassador.

"Then Velmor, Ambassador, is yours."

May the gods help us all.
